Oh yeah… I forgot to mention that Naruto did receive training from Jiraya before Akira beat him so he knows how to open his red chakra and summon Chief Toad or what ever you like to call him. His name isn't important as long as Naruto can summon a giant Frog!

 

 

CHAPTER 9- Naruto vs. Neji

 

 

“Let's get started. Both of you come to the middle.” Naruto and Neji walked to the center and glared at each other. Naruto's hands were in fists and his jaw clenched. Neji only had his arms crossed and a smug look on his face.

 

Akira became confused and the forth Hokage noticed it. She was wondering why they were getting so tense.

 

“It has to do with Neji's cousin, Hyuuga Hinata.” Akira turned to him in shock. It's like he could read her mind.

 

The Hokage kept his eyes on Naruto.

 

“Did Naruto tell you why he became a ninja?” He looked over to her long enough to see her shake her head. He sighed.

 

`Figures that he wouldn't tell her… He's told everyone else!' He looked back at Naruto.

 

“He wants to become Hokage so he can be looked up to instead of belittled.” Akira looked at Naruto too though, her gaze softened at those words. She had no idea.

 

“What happened?” She asked. The Hokage didn't answer her so she set it aside.

 

“BEGIN!” Akira's attention went straight to Naruto as he began to attack Neji with a series of kicks and punches. But soon after was thrown away, Neji leaving the starting attack without a scratch.

 

He laughed.

 

“You can't defeat me.” Naruto got up quickly and stormed at him again.

 

“Oh yeah!? I swore to win for Hinata! And that's what I'm gonna do!!” He tried to punch Neji in the face but Neji caught it easily, then, using his gentle fist, knocked the wind out of Naruto, along with blocking many chakra points. “ARGH!” He was thrown to the ground again.

 

“Naruto-kun!” Hinata and Akira quickly went to the railing, worried about their friend. Hinata looked like she was about to cry while Akira only had a worried look.

 

Sakura was also shocked, only it looked more like surprise.

 

Akira looked at the Hokage like she was going to go down and help him. He looked back at her with an emotionless face.

 

“He is the vessel of the Nine-Tailed Fox.” She became shocked. “He was always shunned and never knew why. The children that use to hate him didn't know why either. They just did what their detestable parents told them.” She looked at the suffering Naruto with sympathy as the Hokage continued. “Since no one paid attention to him, he became the village clown. He did all sorts of things to get consideration from anyone in Konoha, he decided to become a ninja, he wanted respect over anything else.”

 

“I had… no idea.”

“I told you it was useless.” Naruto stood up and held his side in pain as blood trickled down his chin. He began to move towards Neji.

 

“You… you have no right to talk. You almost killed Hinata! All she wanted was to get stronger, to earn your respect. And you almost kill her!” Neji became angry.

 

“You have no idea what you're talking about.” Naruto looked shocked. “I have been looked down upon by the main branch ever since I was born.” He reached back and untied his forehead protector, revealing bandages. He undid those too and a mark, much like a seal, on his forehead. “This, is a curse. It means that I am forever unable to live on my own. I can't disobey the main branch or they'll kill me. Just like they killed my father. They said it was my destiny to protect the youngest of the main branch. Even still I do not wish to serve them.”

 

Of course, who would want to live by someone else's rules? It's understandable that he doesn't like his life but…

Akira, Hinata and Naruto all had a look of shock on their faces.

 

`K-killed?! My uncle? I killed my own uncle?' Hinata looked down at her father. He had no expression on his face, nothing. She looked back at Naruto and Neji.

 

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

 

“What?!” Naruto was confused.

 

“You heard me. My uncle was supposed to die. But he and my father were brothers, twins. They killed my father in place of the man who was really designed to die, but he didn't because he's more important than his brother in the second branch. My father blamed himself for me having to live under the control of the main branch.” Naruto's fists clenched till his knuckles became white.

 

“So you take it out on Hinata?! The one you're supposed to be protecting?!” Naruto didn't understand.

 

… to take it out on someone who has no control over things, an innocent, someone who only wants to be as good enough for you… someone who looks up to you… than what's the point of living at all? If you can't find and serve you're purpose in life… why go on trying to live an unattainable dream?

 

Neji's look didn't change at all which made Naruto even angrier.

 

“Dammit! Say something!!” Neji did speak but it was not what Naruto wanted to hear.

 

“This match, is over.” Naruto exploded all at once.

 

“Damn right! It's over… for you that is!!” He started building up his chakra and Neji became very frustrated and very confused.

 

“What? You're still trying? I blocked all of your chakra points remember? It's useless.” Naruto continued to do what Neji said to be useless.

 

“I told you before… I vowed to win!” Neji activated his Byakugan and was surprised at what he found.

 

Naruto was building up chakra?! Red chakra to be exact!

 

`What--?'

 

 

 

`Okay you stupid fox… if you're in there, gimme your strength!'

 

 

 

A/N: Yes, I skipped… a lot… I put in as much as I could remember all right!! Geeze people expect too much from a 13 year old…
