It was so strange One minute she was walking across the street in her small town and in the next she was bleeding and life was slowly fading before her very eyes. It's said that when one dies your life flashes before your eyes. Yumeko hadn't really lived her life choosing instead to live in the past. She saw how she let the pain of her fathers' betrayal break her. She saw how she let her soul die little by little, she watched as she scarred herself hoping that the pain of her physical wounds would drown out the pain of her emotional ones. She saw how she didn't live but existed, and saw how sad an existence it was. They say that you are engulfed by a blinding white life when you die, but this time things were different, Yumeko was given a second chance at life. Before she lost herself to unconsciousness Yumeko made a wish, a wish to the powers above she wished for a chance to truly live…

She lay on the soft grass listening to the sounds of what she assumed was the forest. The sun beat softly on her warming her as a gentle breeze blew across Yumeko's skin. Slowly she opened her eyes as the sound of childish laughter floated over to her. She may have not have known where she was but she had never felt so at peace. This was her chance to forget her father, and what he did to her family. She would not have to be alone anymore, she wouldn't have the ghosts of past pains haunt her every move. This was her chance to truly live.

She could feel the exhaustion, and dull pain of her wounds, but she focussed more on the fact the she could hear her own rasping breaths. She could feel the sticky dampness of her blood leaking out of her side, and the sharp pain every time she took a breath, but pain was something she was familiar with and something she could deal with. She giggled lightly, giddy with the knowledge that she was alive. One might think that she would panic and scream for help but she could the voices of others in the distance, voices that were steadily getting louder. She had no fear she knew that whoever the voices belonged to would find her. She sighed and closed her eyes, resting her aching body.

Her eyes snapped to the side as she heard a deep masculine laugh join in with the children's. It sounded so beautiful, the sound of pure joy in ones life. She smiled as she realised that here in this paradise she could have that, she could feel deep inside that this was real not a dream, this was life this was real and she was going to live her life to the fullest. The sounds of the children were getting closer; she could hear the excitement in the voice of a young girl, and the answering voice of a young boy. She looked up as the two children entered the clearing she was in. she took the time to study the children, as they stared at her in shock. They first thing she noticed was that the children weren't so young 11 maybe 12. The second was the strange appearance of the children. The girl had burgundy hair. It barely brushed her shoulders, but the most remarkable thing was high on each cheek were stripes, it was quite strange. The boy more normal in appearance had spiky black hair, Yumeko could not tell the colour of his eyes for he wore orange goggles. She looked behind the two children to see another boy; by far the strangest of the group this boy had silver hair and dark grey eyes. From what Yumeko could see the boy had a look of mild surprise, though she couldn't tell for sure for the boy was wearing a navy blue mask, it covered the lower portion of his face. She took another look at the three children and notice they all wore bandana's navy blue with metal plates, there was a weird symbol on the plates it slightly resembled a leaf. Then she heard the smooth voice of a man and looked up only to be engulfed in caring liquid blue eyes. She slowly inspected the face of a man in his late 20's. His blonde hair was wild in heavy spikes. His almond blue eyes shone with worry and sympathy. He strode over to Yumeko, with gentle hands he checked her wounds. Yumeko gasped when he probed her ribs checking to see if they were broken. Her vision swam with the pain of his gentle probing. Finally she lost consciousness; the last thing she saw as darkness clouded her vision was his kind blue eyes.
