"Beautiful" was the only thought that was came to Naruto's mind as he float along side the Great Shinigami through a tunnel of dazzling blue-white light. A strange and undescribable feeling run through his body. "Its pleasent, calming, full of energy and happiness kind of feeling...and...?" Naruto simply couldn't describe the feeling with simple words.

"It is a reflection of your inner narute, Naruto." Spoke the God of Death as if sensing Naruto's thoughts. It was so sudden that Naruto snapped his head towards him, having complelty forgotten about the Shinigami for a while as he was enjoy the feeling the blue-white light was giving him.

"You are a pure soul, so the light gives a reflection of your own self. If you were tainted, if your soul contained or held on to hatred, greed, or any other pointless and destructive traits, then the light would fill you with painful feelings before destroying you."

Naruto looked at the God before asking. "Then what about the Kyuubi? What is the light making him feel?"

"Don't worry child, despite Shippo's actions, they were not entirly his fault so the light will not cause him any pain."

"Shippo? Who's that? I was talking about the Kyuubi no Kitsune." Naruto stated confused by the Shinigami remark.

"Kyuubi no Kistune is a title, like Hokage, Shippo is the kitsune yokai's real name. I will leave it to him to tell you his life story. When that'll happen, is enterily up to you. Now I must discuss a few things with you before will arrive at Soul Society, since it is very likely this will be the only time you and I speak to one another."

"What!? Why? I really liked meeting you... well maybe not at first, but come on! Anyone would've been scared shitless if they saw the Shinigami infront of them, I mean your supposede to eat souls!" Yelled the blond, feeling hurt that he may never see the Shinigami again, since he was now amoung his list of precious people.

The Shinigami smiled, a very creepy smile, at the boy's outburst. "I do as well regret this, but it must be so and I will now tell you why it has to be since it concerns the threat that is facing your world and many others."

The Shinigami paused to see if he had Naruto's complete and full attention, seeing the boy's focused expression he contuined.

"In the begining it was my responsiblity to maintain the balance between the number of souls in the world of the living and the netherworld. I either send souls to heaven, hell, left wonder the world as ghosts, or reincarnated them. It was rather simple at first. But then some mortals and demons starting to disrupt the balance by either summoning the souls of the dead, to even destroying them, in order to obtain something, like immortality. There were times that such things left some souls unable to remain in neither the living or the netherworld. So I left with the job of 'disposing of them in way that wouldn't harm the balance, I did so by eating them."

Naruto paled at this, thinking that part was just a rumor.

"Now don't give that look, Naruto, there at least a bit of truth in rumors and legends. Now as I was saying, when there was no choice I ate souls, but unlike demons, my being couldn't fully digust a human soul. So I ended up vomiting fragments that dissolved seconds after they were expelled. Then many years later these strang demonic creatures, all wearing skull like masks, began appearing attacking and devouring human souls. They were named Hollows, because of the hole they have where their heart should be. It was discovered that the remains that I spat up had permanently contaminated the spiritual atmosphere. Thus a reaction occurs between the whole soul and the soul fragments in which the Chain of Fate would consume itself and transform a person into a Hollow. Since it was my fault and unable to single handly handle the Hollows I was order to train as many souls as I could to become shinigami and after they were able to stand on their own feet by themselves I was only watch and help when it was utterly necessary. That is where your world comes in, you see something or someone has open a rift between the two dimensions and the contaminated spirit energy has slowly leaked into your world."

"So? If anyone becomes a Hollow then the shinigami would take care of it right?"

"No, because your world does not have any shinigami whatsoever. Your world is one of those in which souls are send to where ever it is they meant to go in the netherworld. But as soon as the corrupted spirit energy enter your world the upper deities had me set up a temporary barriar that would prevent any Hollows from attacking anyone in your world, at least until another 'Soul Society' could created in your dimension."

"Ok, but what do I have do with any of this?"

"Well you see a few decades ago the rift became wider and thus the barriar weaken. If not for Shippo and you the barriar would've shattered and your world would've been detroyed."

"Huh? What did we have to do with the barriar?"

"You see when I was summoned by the Yondaime to help seal Shippo into you, I reliazed that I could alter the seal so that some of Shippo's power would reinforce the barriar, buying us time to create a Soul Society in your world. However with your death at the hands of those foolish villagers, we had to change our plans. First the barriar was given enough power to last for ten years, after that it will begin to fade and be completely gone in five years. How everything ends up will be up to you, Naruto."

"What do I have do? Besides become a shinigami I mean?"

".....I am sorry Naruto, but that I'll have to leave anything else you wish to know to my first and best student Shigekuni Yamamoto-Genryfor we have reached our destination." As they stopped a portal opened underneath them and Naruto began to descend into it.

Looking at the Death God Naruto eyes began to get misty as he remenbered that this was their first and last meeting and began yelling. "WAIT! I DON'T WANT TO LEAVE YOU! I WANT TO KNOW WHY I CAN'T NEVER SEE YOU AGAIN SHINI!"

The Death God was a bit stunned at what the blond child just called him, but nonetheless felt warm and sad as he was the boy fall down into the portal, where a bald old man with a long white beard and a X scar on his forehead stood waiting.

"Farewell Uzumaki Naruto. Grow strong and happy, you deserve it." Was the only he could say as the boy fell into the arms of the old man before the portal closed, leaving the Shinigami King alone in the tunnel of blue white light. That is ntil a cloaked figure appeared out of nowhere behind the Death God.

"That was very heartbreaking, Shini." Said the figure, a teenage looking boy with black feral looking hair that reahed his shoulders, his body covered completely by a white cloak with the kanji for dog on his back.

"What do you want Inuki?" The Death God sounding very irritated by the boy's prensence.

"Hey come on! I know as much about the kid as you do. You know Ki will help you out of your sentence, or at least get some of it change. He could convince the other deities to let you out of the Abyss every now and then, or at least let you to comm.."

"Thats enough Inuki! It was decided by the Higher Deities that I should stay in that empty void of darkness, only watching the mortal worlds. Only to be allowed out when I was needed. If it weren't for my carelessness the Hollows wouldn't exist, nor would that boy suffered so much, I deserve a far punishment then simply being sealed in the Abyss."

"I don't think there was much you have done, besides, the fact that he is the way he is despit his harsh life is admirable."

"I know, but I still wish I could have done more for Naruto."

"Well that goes for alot of people. Sigh...so ready to go back into the Abyss?" Inuki asked in tone that indicted he hated what he was about to do.

"Yes"

"And don't worry about Whiskers, I will help as much as I can." Inuki said as he waved his hand and a portal opened up containing nothing but darkness that left those who stared into it with a feeling of emptiness.

"Hmph, thats a comforting thought.....Thank you, Inuki." Was all the Death God said as the darkness streched out of the portal like tentacles, grabbong the Death God and pulling him into the portal. Inuki remained alone in the tunnel of light as the portal to the Abyss closed.

"Don't mention it, Shini-oji-san." With that Inuki faded away, back to where he came from.

AN: This chapter took me a while since I reread it to make sure there weren't any plot holes or that I put to much crap that it made no sense and sounded like bull shit. If any of you find any plot holes please tell me, that way I can fill them as the story goes. The whole seireitei tour and the functions of the 13 Gotei is going to based on the one from Shrouded Orange by Vesvius B. Sorry for not being orginal, but its to good not use.

BTW the story is set before Ichigo becomes a shinigami.
