*Mission Time*
Saiai woke up in the middle of a muscle-pulling, smile-inducing stretch. Her back arched off of
the bed for several seconds, then she fell back. She turned to her side, relishing in post-yawn
bliss. The bed was wonderful, she was warm, and she felt wonderfully rested. She opened her
eyes and was met with a beautiful sight. Neji was facing her, his hair falling over his face and
breaths coming out in a slow, deep rhythm. She didn't move for a few minutes, just letting that
image imprint itself on her mind. She sighed, getting up and getting dressed. She went about
quietly, not wanting to wake up Neji in order to make him and his family a small thank-you
breakfast.
She tip-toed out of the bedroom, relishing in the quietness of the house. It was quiet, but it
wasn't still. Something, or rather, someone moved in the kitchen. She activated her Moon Eyes,
sneaking silently to the kitchen. She stilled just before the doorway, braced herself, and struck...
to find herself face-to-face with Hiashi, face shocked and surprised, and two plates of eggs and
bacon.
`Uh... good morning?' Hiashi said, not entirely sure what just happened.
Saiai sighed and sat down. `I'm sorry, Hiashi, I thought there was an intruder in the kitchen.
What are you doing up so early?'
`I was making a pre-mission breakfast for the four of us. What were you doing?' Hiashi asked,
setting a plate in front of her. He placed the other plate to her left, for Neji. He went back to the
kitchen, fetching a plate for himself, and setting the other plate to his right for Hanabi.
`I was coming to make a `thank-you' breakfast,' Saiai said, digging into her eggs.
`Oh, well, the thought was nice... good morning, Hanabi,' Hiashi said, quietly beginning to eat
his eggs.
`Good morning, Hanabi,' Saiai said cheerfully, finishing her bacon off. The little girl waved, still
not completely awake. Saiai rose to her feet, turned to walk back to the bedroom to get her travel
pack, and walked into Neji's chin.
`Good morning, Saiai,' Neji said, rubbing his chin. She muttered a reply and made her way back
to the bedroom, rubbing her forehead. She packed bandages and wound cleansers from the
bathroom, and decided against bringing an extra pair of clothes for both. There would be a
stream before they got to the Moonlight Village, they could wash their stuff there. Then she made
her way to the kitchen to grab some food-stuffs for the journey. It wasn't a long travel, but they
still needed food, and if there were dead animals in the nearby forests, the Moonlight shinobi
would get suspicious.
She finished her packing and returned to the dining area. When she rounded the corner, Hanabi
performed her miraculously accurate stomach tackle and almost caused Saiai to drop the bag.
Neji had finished his breakfast long ago, and caught it before it fell.
`You're coming back, right?' Hanabi asked, her face stuffed in Saiai's belly.
The question was posed at both of them, but Neji answered. `Of course we are, Hanabi. Saiai
promised you she would come back and bring her sisters. I'm not going to let her get hurt, and I
promise you we're going to come back.' Saiai gave Neji an dd look, but it was completely lost to
him.
`Then you're going to live with us, right??' Hanabi asked, hopeful.
Neji's eyes flew open, but Saiai shook her head silently. `Sorry, dear, but I have a Village to run
after the mission. But I made a promise; when this is all over, I'll come back and visit with my
sisters.'
Neji put his hand on Hanabi's shoulder, and said, softly but firmly, `We have to go now. We'll be
back sooner than you think.' The little girl backed away and went to sit on her father's lap,
solemn and quiet. The pair exited the house, and father and daughter sat quietly for a while.
`Neji likes her, doesn't he, Daddy?' Hanabi asked. Hiashi nodded his head. `And she likes him
back, doesn't she?' Another nod, and Hanabi continued. `Is that why they're going to protect
each other?'
Hiashi was shocked by his daughter's in-depth analysis, but he smiled gently at her. `Yes, Hanabi
dear, that's exactly why they're going to protect each other. And they're going to succeed in their
mission for that reason. Now go get dressed.'

`Hello, guys! How is your morning?' Lee said, bright as ever. He was waiting with Sakura at the
Village gates for the pair.
`Wish I could've slept longer, but otherwise fine,' Neji replied, shouldering the sack the pair
carried their supplies. Saiai had the lighter load of carrying their sleeping pads.
`Do you know the plan?' Saiai asked.
Sakura nodded. `We follow you about half a day behind, and act solely as backup. We are not to
move unless we sense that there is trouble that you two can't handle.'
Neji nodded. `Correct. Lee, that means you can't use your Dynamic Entry unless it's terribly
necessary.' He was forced to suppress a laugh when Lee's face fell in disappointment. Sakura
laughed and put a hand on his arm.
Neji turned to Saiai and saw the immense worry on her face. He looked at her questioningly, but
she just smiled her small smile and shook her head. `I'm ok,' she reassured him.
Neji turned to Lee and raised his hand. `See you in three days,' and jumped off into the morning
sun. Saiai smiled, raised her hand in a wave, and jumped off after Neji.
Lee and Sakura turned to walk back into the Village to prepare. `Lee?' Sakura said.
`Yes?'
`Do you think we can leave a little earlier than they told us to?'
Thick eyebrows shot up in surprise. `Of course we can, but why? Do you not trust Neji and
Saiai?'
Sakura shook her head. `No,' she replied, wringing her hands, `but I have a really bad feeling
something's going to happen to one of them.' Lee said nothing, but silently agreed. He trusted
Neji, and was sure that Saiai could carry her own, but somehow, he was certain one of them
would be hurt.
