“What is that blonde haired menace planning!” Sasuke shouted as he walked into his home, slamming the door behind him as he headed towards the stairs that led up to his room.
“Geez, loud enough kid?” Sasuke growled in frustration as he turned to look at Kisame, his brothers overly sized friend, standing at the door way to the living room across from the stairs.
“Oh great! Now you’re here! Where’s Itachi?” Sasuke asked in even bigger rage as he glared down at the man.
“Was called out for a book signing by Orochimaru” Kisame said nonchalantly as he walked back into the living room to plop down on the couch, turning on the overly sized plasma TV to some rock music channel.
Sasuke just growled some more and stomped up the rest of the stairs and into his room, tossing his backpack across the room and into the corner before landing himself on his queen sized bed. After about a half hour of mind blowing rage, the anger slowly calmed and went down to a small sizzle before going out.
‘What is she planning?’ Sasuke asked himself again with a soft sigh while sitting up and walking over to the window by his bed, looking out at the scenery of his lush backyard.
“Hey kid!” Sasuke’s attention was drawn away as he heard the call from Kisame down stairs. “Phone call!” he shouted again.
Sasuke sighed again and walked out of his room and down the stairs, exchanging glare for smirk with Kisame before grabbing the phone and making his way back upstairs.
“Hello?” he spoke into the phone as soon as he walked into his room and closed the door.
“Hey, Sasuke-kun!” oh great, Sakura. How’d she get his number?
“What is it Sakura?”
“I was just wondering if you’d like to go to the dance?”
“let me think about that, NO” Sasuke said in a swift tone as he got ready to turn off the phone.
“Please, Sasuke-kun!!! I promise you’ll enjoy it!” she begged.
Sasuke thought about it for a few moments. ‘I could make Naruto jealous. I’ll go with the pink thing, he’ll get jealous and dump that skank and come for me!’ Sasuke gave a small dark chuckle.
“Sasuke-kun? Are you ok?”
“I’m fine, and I’d enjoy going to the dance with you” there was a squeal of pure excitement on the other side as Sasuke hung up the phone and an evil smirk slinked onto his face.
The next day at school, Naruto, Kiba, Shikamaru and Kankuro looked in horror as Sasuke arrived with Sakura clinging to his right arm, him not clawing her off.
“Uh…Sasuke? You seem to have something on your arm” Kiba said while pointing towards Sakura who seemed to have not noticed the comment and continued to look up at Sasuke with dreamy eyes.
‘Why isn’t he batting her away?’ Naruto thought with a slight twinge of sadness crossing his heart, quickly swatting the feeling away like Sasuke should have done to the girl on him.
Sasuke took notice to the worried look on Naruto’s face and smirked as he placed a hand around Sakura’s waist, earning a small squeak of pure joy from the girl, though he took no notice to it and kept his gaze at the blond boy in front of him.
“Naruto!!” Sasuke’s smirk sank as the sight of Ino came into view.
In a blur, Ino was clung to Naruto’s left arm, getting freaked out looks from Kiba, Shikamaru and Kankuro as they looked from Sasuke to Naruto and repeated the act several times to make sure this was real.
“Ok…I can see Sasuke getting someone, not Sakura exactly, but Naruto and Ino! Am I seeing some insane image or are you dudes seeing it two?” Kankuro asked while looking towards Kiba and Shikamaru who looked in pure shock and giving small nods to show he wasn’t the only one seeing it.
“Of course we’re together!” Ino said while giving a smirk towards Sasuke who looked slightly pissed, too bad it wasn’t aimed at who she thought it was.
“Hey, Ino-pig” Sakura smirked from her place on Sasuke’s arm.
Ino glared as she noticed the pink haired girl with Sasuke, that was a hole in her plan.
“Billboard-brow! What are you doing with Sasuke-kun!” she hissed with plenty of venom in her voice as she clung even more on Naruto, causing Sasuke’s glare to darken.
“For your information, Sasuke-kun asked me to the dance!” At this, Naruto’s eyes widened, heart breaking at the words. Why did he feel like this? He didn’t know but it hurt.
“I got to go” Naruto said softly as he loosened himself from Ino and walked down the hall.
“Wait, Naruto!” Ino shouted as she ran after the blond boy, followed by his friends.
Sasuke looked sadly at the retreating boy as he heard a small giggle from Sakura below.
“They’re so jealous of our love” she cooed and began the lean forward, standing on her tip toes to reach Sasuke since she was shorter.
“I got to go” Sasuke repeated Naruto’s earlier line before escaping Sakura’s hold and ran off towards class.
Naruto avoided Sasuke during most of their classes. Days passed and passed, neither speaking to each other as they both avoided each other at this point. Finally, the day of the dance arrived. Girls were excited since practily everyone had a date to the dance.
Naruto was still sulking, despite the fact this was his first gig, he should be excited his band was playing tonight! Sighing, Naruto slipped on his silk blood red dress shirt, buttoning it up till the last 4 buttons which he left undone. Black leather pants fit snuggly against his tan skin along with some black converes.
The boys had already set up their instruments up after school so he just had to go pick up Ino. This was painful, really painful. Sure he was going with one of the top girls in the whole school but for some reason he hated it. Arriving at Ino’s front door, Naruto was greeted with a wonderful sight.
There stood Ino in a tight black tank top with small hoops dangling from the top and violet arm warmers with black straps tightening them to her arms. A ruffled violet mini skirt and black fishnets covered her legs along with some black heals.
“Hey, Naruto!” she said happily while giving a small shout to her parents inside that she was leaving before clinging to his arm and giving him a grin.
When the two arrived, the gym was already filled with teens dancing to the DJ who was boosting loud rock music at the moment. Naruto seemed to cheer up before spotting Sasuke and Sakura dancing. Sasuke was practily copying his outfit except Sasuke’s shirt was navy blue instead of red. Sakura was wearing a hot pink tube top and a light pink mini skirt. The word slut strongly emitting from the image.
Naruto frowned at how close Sakura danced to Sasuke.
“Yo, Naruto!” Naruto turned to see Kiba, Gaara and Neji standing together waiting for him.
“Hey, guys!” Naruto put on a big grin, which he knew was fake since he felt like crap, and walked over to them.
“I see Blondey hasn’t left your side yet” Kiba noted towards Ino who glared at him.
“What was that, dog breathe!!! Ino shouted as the two started a name fight.
Naruto sweatdropped and moved to Neji and Gaara with a big grin, not noticing the tinted blushes on their cheeks as he did so.
“Hey you two! Excited?” he asked, showing that he was psyched.
Both nodded and the three began to talk while ignoring Kiba and Ino’s continued fight. Sasuke had noticed the minute Naruto had walked in that he was there. It was hard to continue dancing with Sakura though. She kept getting close and it was annoying when she tried to cling to him and dance at the same time. Sasuke watched as Naruto and Ino walked into the dark gym, the lights from the DJ stand flashing blue, red, purple and other colors to make it more fun then just the disco ball hanging on the top which was flashing silver circular lights around the gym.
“Sasuke-kun?” Sakura said a little louder, trying to snap Sasuke’s attention back to her.
Sasuke looked down at Sakura who was talking about something which he wasn’t really paying attention two.
“Attention, students!” everyone’s attention was drawn to the stage where the DJ stand was to find Tsunade holding a microphone. “Our first live band will begin now! Presenting, Ultimate Sound!” with that, Tsunade gave the microphone to Dosu who was on the stage with Kin and Zaku.
Both Dosu and Zaku had guitars and Kin was on drums. Without a word, they all began to play. The music was loud and screamed heavy metal. Everyone cheered as the loud music pounded into their air and everyone danced and cheered at the same time. While Ino continued to dance with Naruto, Naruto just stood there and looked up at the band who was also their competition for the night.
‘How are we going to beat that?’ Naruto mentally fussed.
Looking over his shoulder and towards his band mates, Naruto saw the same worried looks on Neji, Gaara and Kiba.
“Na..Naruto-kun?” Naruto looked over to see Hinata looking at him. “Are you ok?” she asked.
Naruto nodded and told Ino he was going to take a break. She nodded and ran off to find someone else to dance with while Naruto and Hinata left the gym and went into the school halls to talk away from the blasting music.
“Where’s you date, Hinata?” Naruto asked while looking around.
“I…I don’t…have one” she stuttered sadly while looking down at the ground.
“Well that’s not right! How bout I dance with you” Naruto grinned. “Ino probably already found someone else to cling to so I should be free.”
“R..really!” Hinata asked as her faced turned 3 shades of red.
“Sure!” Naruto replied as he grabbed Hinata’s hand and walked back into the gym.
Sure enough, Ino had some how managed her way into a dance with Sasuke while Sakura was sulking and dancing with Rock Lee. Naruto gave a small chuckle before him and Hinata started to dance. After three songs, Tsunade got back onto the stage.
“Now its time for our second live band! Give it up for Fox Fire!” with that, Naruto, Kiba, Neji and Gaara went up onto the stage.
Kiba and Gaara grabbed two guitars while Neji went to the drums, leaving Naruto as the lead singer. Sasuke stopped dancing as the 4 began to play. The music was strong rock and was just as loud as the last band. The lights shined down on Naruto as he sang the words of the song, each word coming from his lips loud and fast. But to Sasuke and a few others watching, each movement was slow and mesmerizing.
Teens cheered for more and more while others danced. Eventually their turn of 3 songs was over and Tsunade dismissed them back down to the dance while the DJ restarted.
“That was amazing!” Haku shouted as he ran up to the four boys.
Haku was the band manager so he had watched the whole thing and was given many compliments to give to the band from kids who had been watching.
“Well it was us!” Naruto grinned as Haku congratulated the other boys. ‘But I wonder if Sasuke saw it’ he thought with a depressed look as he walked out of the gym and into the halls, planning on going and getting some fresh air while unknown to the figure following him.
