A/N: *Sigh* Nope, not the last chapter. Second to last actually. Maybe. Lmao! I'm going to tie up the Naruto/Sakura issue then end it. So there's not going to be a lot of Sasuke or Hinata. Some, not a lot. You'll see why in a minute. As always, thank you for reading and reviewing.

For NaruSaku:

I'll Keep Your Memory Vague-Finger Eleven
This won't break your heart
But I just think it could
Cause I haven't tried as hard as I should
To separate you from everything I do
But I would never want to come between us two

I'll keep your memory vague
So you won't feel bad about me
I'll say the things that you said
Sometimes so it reminds me

Now I'm thinking back
To what I said before
I hope your heart won't have to hurt anymore
Cause it's really not that sad from here
Because the moments I can feel you near
They keep you close to me my dear
And if they ever become too clear...

Now you've gone away
Don't worry it's OK
That you're gone away
Further than yesterday
But you'll never leave these scenes
My mind replays

Where in the world have you gone now?

Chapter 15

Sasuke stood in front of the Godaime Hokage wearing a confused look on his face. "Nani?" he asked her again.

Tsunade glared at the Uchiha and closed her eyes. "I don't know how to explain it any easier. You," she pointed at him, "are going on a B ranked mission with them," she pointed to Hinata and Ino, "He is the leading the team," finally she pointed to Sai, who smiled a big, fake smile. The blond sat back down and poured herself a drink. She studied Sasuke's worried face and sighed. "Sakura is only eighteen weeks pregnant. This mission should only take ten days tops. I know you're worried, but I have too many shinobi on the inactive list. Including Naruto, Temari and Sakura; I need you to accept this mission," she glared at the raven-haired ninja in front of her but didn't really mean it.

Sasuke shifted from foot to foot and glanced at the others. "Of course I accept the mission, Tsunade-sama," he told the Godaime, who nodded at him.

Sai leaned over and hissed, "Way to prove you have a penis, traitor." It was a whisper but kind intended for everyone to hear.

Tusnade hid her grin behind the mission scroll. It was typical Sai; it was also why he ended up at the hospital a lot.

Ino snorted and laughed out loud. "I think we all know he proved that when he knocked up Sakura-chan," she giggled.

Hinata blushed and laughed behind her hand. She was thinking along those same lines, but would of never said so out loud in front of the Hokage.

Sasuke rolled his eyes and looked at Tsunade. "When are we leaving?"

Tsunade shot all of them a 'don't fuck with me' look. "In two days at dawn. You'll have plenty of time to pack. That is all, dismissed," she said in a tired voice.
****

Sasuke walked slower than he'd ever walked before on his way home. He let his mind wander and soon found himself in front of the old Uchiha compound. Most of the buildings had been leveled already. The only two left standing were the shrine and his childhood home. He turned away and walked toward the memorial further down the road; he hadn't been there since the night he left. Once he got to the memorial he went straight to his mother's and father's stones. Kneeling down in front of his mother's stone he reached out and ran his fingers across the chiseled writing. He closed his eyes and pictured his mom. He didn't know how long he'd knelt there when he felt the presence of another nin behind him. He went immediately on guard as he slowly rose to a standing position. His right hand hovered over his kunai holder. There were still other shinobi who harbored ill will towards him and in turn, he trusted very few of them. Imagine his surprise to see, of all people, Sai. "Can I help you with something?" he asked keeping the irritation out of his voice; it was wasted on that emotionally stunted baka anyway.

Sai decided to forgo the fake smile and got to the point quickly. "You better not fuck us over out there Uchiha. It's no secret we aren't best friends," the artist said with a blank look.

"I could say the same about you, baka," he said frowning as he turned back around to light the candles.

Sai watched with interest as the fire user summoned a small flame and blew it across all the candles. He stepped closer to the last, most recent stone. "Hey traitor? You forgot one," he glanced at the raven-haired boy, noticing the way his shoulders stiffened. He looked down at the name and read it. His mouth formed a small O and he turned to face Sasuke. "Whoops, guess you didn't forget one. Warii!" he smiled that ridiculous smile again.

Sasuke rolled his eyes and picked up a small twig and lit the end and dipped it toward the wick of Itachi's candle. He set the candle back down and crushed the twig out under his sandled foot. "Naruto arranged to have him laid to rest here," he said out loud to no one in particular. He touched Itachi's stone and closed his eyes.

Sai quietly watched the Uchiha's lips move. His eyes widened slightly when he started lip reading and caught the last of what he'd assumed was a prayer; boy, was he wrong. The very last thing Sasuke mouthed was, 'The fires of hell aren't hot enough for you.' He watched with his usual blank looked as his teammate stood and turned to face him. He decided against commenting; now was not the time to annoy Sasuke. He considered a few things to say and decided on asking about lunch. "So, do you want to grab some lunch somewhere?" he asked with a blank look.

Sasuke almost laughed in Sai's face; since when did the artist want to eat with him? He looked at Sai and tried to figure out what his motive was. "Tsch, I thought you didn't eat with traitors," he said with a smirk, because he knew it would confuse the emotionless jackass.

Sai smiled his creepy fake smile at him, "I was talking to shrew earlier and she said I should try to act more like a teammate towards you."

The Uchiha raised his eyebrows; shrew? That was a new one. "Since when do you listen to Sakura? Oh, I get it: You were
talking shit about me, you pissed her off, she broke your face and she was telling you this as she healed it. Am I right?" He could picture the entire scenario playing out, he'd seen it a million times before.

Sai kept smiling the creepy smile. It was the kind of smile that would give civilians the chills. "Ha ha. You must be psychic. Anyway, I decided that I do want to get to know you better. So how about lunch?" The serial killer smile was back in place.

Sasuke considered running for a moment. He looked at Sai. Trying to read the artist was like trying to read a book in a foreign language. Pointless. He laughed and turned around to walk away.

"It's just lunch. It's not like I'm asking you on a date, traitor," the artist shouted at him, blank look back in place. He threw down his last bargaining chip, "Harpy can come too. Even dickless, if you can find him."

Tired of listening to Sai's stupid nicknames for everyone, he sighed and agreed to go to Ichiraku with the artist. "Sakura is at work and dobe is probably trying to convince Hinata to sneak him on the mission," he glanced back at Sai, "No more flirting with me. I don't swing that way."

Sai caught up to him and looked at him, "What's flirting?"

Sasuke had to bite his lip to keep from laughing, "Never mind, baka, I'll explain it later."

Sai just looked at Sasuke. Finally he spoke. "I'm baka because I don't know what flirting is?" he narrowed his eyes at the last Uchiha, "Are you sure you know?"

Sasuke sighed and stopped to turn and look at the ROOT member. "Flirting is..." he searched his mind for an example, "Flirting is what Ino does to you all the time."

The blank look came back. "You mean when she blinks a lot and her voice goes up a few octaves? Huh, I just thought she had allergies or something. The suggestive comments are flirting then, yes?" he stared in what could only be described as wonder at the fire user.

Sasuke couldn't believe he, of all people, was explaining flirting to the emotionless artist. "Um, well it depends on what she says to you I guess," he said with a shrug and continued on to the ramen shop.

Sai walked along side him. He was considering what his teammate had told him. They got to Ichiraku and grabbed two seats at the counter.

Ayame walked up to the two nin at the counter and smiled brightly, "What can I get Konoha's most handsome ninja today?"

Sai nudged Sasuke and asked rather loudly, "Traitor, this is flirting, yes?"

The last Uchiha groaned and shot a look of apology to Ayame. "Just order your ramen, baka," he said in a low voice. "Ayame-chan, I'll have the miso ramen."

Sai looked at the smiling girl in front of him. "Are you flirting with me because you want me to have sex with you?" he asked with a blank innocent look on his face. "Oh, my order. I'll have pork ramen," the stupid smile blinked back on.

Ayame walked away shaking her head and went to place their orders.

"Has anyone ever told you that you are embarrassing in public places?" Sasuke managed to ask Sai without strangling him.

Sai smiled the creepy smile again. "I get that all the time actually."

Sakura yawned and stood up. She was tired and wanted to go home, but the pile of medical ninja applications made her stay. She'd promised Shizune she would go through them and pick the best ones to give to Tsunade. She groaned; there were over a hundred to go through. She stretched and went over to the window. Sliding it open, she leaned on the sill and let the early march breeze caress her face. She opened her green eyes and looked up and down the street in front of the hospital. She spotted Sasuke and Sai and chuckled to herself, he'd done exactly what she'd told him to do. To Sasuke's credit he didn't look like he wanted to kill Sai and that was a good sign. He looked really uncomfortable but not murderous. Sai took a left towards his house and her boyfriend kept on in the direction of the hospital. When he got closer she yelled down to him to come up to her office.

Sasuke looked up at Sakura's tired face and frowned. She was working herself too hard; going in early and staying late. It was a little after 2pm and she'd already been there for eight hours. He went through the double doors to the stairs up to the offices. He stepped inside her office, which was no more than a glorified closet with a window. She looked up from the window at him with a tired smile. "Sakura-chan, you need to stop pushing yourself so hard," he said kissing the back of her neck and wrapping his arms around her. He let his hands rest on her abdomen and nibbled at her neck. "Let me take you home," he whispered in her ear.

She playfully swatted at him. "Shoo! Stop that! I have to finish going through these applications for Shizune," she said turning her face towards his. A sigh escaped her lips as he trailed kisses down the back of her neck.

"Come home with me now and we can come back in a few hours. I'll even help you," he said cupping her breast under her scrub top.

She looked at him through narrowed green eyes. "You'll fall asleep and I'll have to come back by myself. So no, I'm afraid I have to decline your generous offer," the pink-haired medic told him as she wiggled out of his grasp. She sat back down at her desk and picked up the top application. She could feel his smoldering gaze burning holes through her. She looked over the top of the paper into his dark eyes. "You were just going, right?" she said, her lips twitching.

"Fine, I'll just tell you here. I have a mission two days from now. The team is Ino, Hinata and myself; lead by Sai. That's all I can tell you other than Tsunade-sama said it shouldn't take more than ten days," he said turning to leave her office. He paused by the door, "Try and be a little quieter when you get home tonight. I'm going to bed early. And if you ever sic that emotionless jerk off on me again..." he trailed off as he walked away.
****

When Sakura heard a knock on her office door again she was shocked to see it was after 10pm. She yelled, "Come in," and leaned back in her chair. Her pink eyebrows rose slightly when Naruto walked through the door and took a seat in front of her. He placed a carry out container of ramen in front of her and pulled one out for himself. Tears sprang to her eyes and she blinked them back quickly. "Naruto...How in the world?" she asked him, trying to figure out how he even knew she was here.

"Teme told me you refused to leave until you were done. I was walking to get some ramen and I saw the light on in your office. I took a chance and ordered your usual," he grinned at his best friend, who was tearing into her ramen. "Hinata-chan said she has a mission with Ino, teme and Sai. A ten-day mission, Sakura-chan," he said giving her a knowing look.

She stopped eating and looked at her blond friend. "What the fuck's that supposed to mean?" she demanded through a mouthful of noodles. She was getting a little tired of his innuendo. She knew what he was hinting at and it made her physically sick. They were both in relationships with other people; who just so happened to be going on a mission for ten days. She looked at him questioningly and shook her head, "No way...no...Not gonna happen. You might as well keep on going if that's what you wanted to talk to me about."

Naruto looked at her with those big blue puppy dog eyes. "It would be just like before..." he said before having to duck a chopstick that came flying at him. He turned around to see the chopstick was embedded about eight centimeters in the wall behind his head. "Damn Sakura-chan, that could of really hurt me," he whined.

Sakura felt her patience wearing extremely thin. She took a deep breath and started, "Naruto...you just told me a few months ago you wanted to marry Hinata-chan. What the fuck? I mean seriously, she already does not really trust me around you. Why are you trying to ruin a good thing? Are you really that unhappy?" She looked into his blue eyes and sighed.

"I do wanna marry Hinata-chan. Believe me, I've asked her a zillion times but she always says she's not ready. I don't get it, I really don't," he said with an expression so sad Sakura had to stop herself from hugging her friend. He looked up at her with watery eyes, "Why? Why won't she say yes?"

Sakura pinched the bridge of her nose and sighed. "I don't know. Have you tried asking her why?" she said opening a drawer and getting another pair of chopsticks out. She almost laughed out loud when he jumped because she broke the chopsticks apart.

"Yeah. She always says I'm not ready either," the sad look came back into his eyes. "Why aren't you marrying teme?"

She stopped eating for a moment and considered his question. "Because he hasn't asked. Anymore nosy questions?" She picked up her sticks and finished the rest of her noodles. She stood up to throw her trash away.

Naruto looked shocked first, then angry. "You mean to tell me, you're carrying his baby and he doesn't want to marry you? That's bullshit, Sakura-chan. I would of married you the day we found out," he said with a low growl.

She could sense his agitation growing to dangerous levels. She counted to ten in her mind and looked at him. "I didn't say he doesn't want to marry me. Fuck, maybe he doesn't and I'm okay with that. The baby will be a Uchiha regardless of what my name happens to be," she chewed on the inside of her cheek and picked up another application. Suddenly there were a million thoughts dancing through her head. 'What if he doesn't want to marry me? What if I'm just one of the lucky few who get to help him rebuild his clan?' she shook her head to clear the doubts. Damn him for planting seeds of doubt in her head. Suddenly she felt dizzy and landed in her chair with an ungraceful plop. Her vision started to go gray around the edges. She could hear Naruto calling her name, but he sounded so far away... She felt herself slide out of the chair and on to the floor. Then the room dimmed and went black.
****

Sasuke jerked awake and tried to identify the noise that pulled him out of his deep sleep. *BANG BANG BANG* 'The door,' he thought and pulled himself off of the couch and stumbled to the door. He pulled the door open to reveal a frantic looking Ino. He was definitely awake now. "Ino? What's wrong?" he asked his soon to be teammate.

She looked at him with frantic eyes that were brimming with tears. "Sasuke-kun," she started, her voice shaking, "It's Sakura. She's at the hospital."

His sleep addled brain refused to process this information correctly. He stared at her for a moment, "Of course she is, that's where here office is," he looked at her questioningly and yawned. He glanced over at the clock and saw that it was after 12am. He felt the hair stand up on the back of his neck and he noticed Ino was now sobbing. "Is it the baby? Are they all right Ino-chan?" he asked touching the blond kunoichi's shoulder. Ino cried harder and Sasuke felt a knot of dread form in his stomach. "Ino! Calm down a little tell me what you know," he said shaking her a little.

Ino took a deep breath and wiped her eyes. "All I know is around 10:30 or so," she started, not really wanting to tell him who
Sakura was with, "Naruto brought her ramen and they talked for a bit. Then she got up, threw her food trash away and then she passed out behind her desk," Ino said looking away from Sasuke.

Sasuke clenched his jaw and turned away from Ino. "Fuck! I gotta get dressed. Hang on one second," he said heading towards the bedroom to change.
****

Sasuke sat outside of the room Sakura was in while Tsunade finished examining her. He glared over at Naruto, who also happened to be sitting across the hall from him. "Dobe, what did you say to upset her?" he sneered at the jounin.

Naruto returned the glare and growled, "I asked her why she wasn't getting married yet. I have no idea why she would of gotten upset over the father of her child not wanting to marry her."

Sasuke felt the headache coming on and pinched the bridge of his nose. "Naruto, why would you think I don't want to marry her? I love her so much and you know I'm not in a position to get married right now. Kami! Did you tell her I didn't want to marry her? What the fuck man?" he yelled, not realizing he was getting louder and louder.

Naruto gave a self satisfied grunt. He'd wanted her to doubt the teme, but he hadn't wanted her to get so upset she passed out. And he would never forgive himself if she lost her baby. "Fuck you teme! Maybe if you spent the time to tell her all the things you tell me, she wouldn't have any doubts. Damn it! This isn't my fault," the blond jinchuriki yelled back.

Sasuke saw red and lunged towards his oldest friend. His fist would of connected with Naruto's face if Tsunade wouldn't of stepped out of the room at that moment.

The Godaime caught the last Uchiha in a side headlock and pointed her finger at Naruto. "You! Go home!" she narrowed her golden brown eyes at the blond jounin. When he didn't budge she tapped his forehead with her finger, "I said now Naruto!"

Naruto turned on his heel and stormed off muttering various curses under his breath.

Once the jounin was gone she released her hold on Sasuke, who sat down and let his kekkai genkei recede. She sat down next to him and crossed her legs. "You want to tell me what that was about?" she asked gently.

Sasuke just shook his head. "It was stupid. How are Sakura and the baby? Is everything okay?" he asked looking over at Tsunade.

The sannin looked at Sasuke's worried face and put her hand on his shoulder. "They're both fine. She's just overworked and needs to rest. She's awake and wants you. You can go in. Do me a favor? Take her home and I'll tell Naruto to stay away from her," she smiled at him.

Sasuke let out out a relieved breath. "Iie, keeping dobe away from her will hurt her. He's just stupid and next time she'll put him through a wall. Do me a favor, Tusnade-sama?"

Tusnade stopped and turned around, "And what might that be?"

Sasuke looked her straight in the eyes. "Marry us. I know I'm not in any position to do so, but I don't want her to think I don't want her as my wife. I do. More than anyone will ever know," he said grinning.

Tsunade felt a huge grin emerge on her face. "Absolutely. I'll wait out here."
****

Sakura laid in the hospital bed a laid her hand over her abdomen. 'Eighteen weeks,' she thought smiling. She could feel the butterfly flutters of the baby moving. She wanted a boy. She hadn't told anyone that, but she wanted a boy. And Kami help him if he's born with pink hair. She burst into a fit of giggles over that one. She'd heard the commotion outside room and knew Lady Tsunade would diffuse the situation. She pulled her shirt up and looked a her stomach; it was still pretty flat, but there was a slight rounding starting. She was grinning like a fool when Sasuke walked in her room.

Sasuke watched her for a few minutes and smiled. She was staring down at her stomach in wonder with a big silly grin on her face. He walked over and laid his hand on her abdomen and kissed her. He trailed hot kisses across her jaw and nipped at her earlobe. She sighed and put her arm around him. He ghosted his lips over the shell of her ear. "Will you marry me Sakura-chan?" he whispered.

Her lip trembled and she was in a state of shock. "Nani? Now?" Her eyes widened as she realized he was serious. "YES!" she squealed and looked at him, he was smiling at her.

"Tsunande is going to do it now. And I do have a ring for you, it's at home," he caught her mouth in a kiss. "I love you. I love our baby. I'm sorry I didn't ask sooner. I've wanted to be with you since I came home," he said looking into her bright jade eyes. He leaned down and kissed her abdomen. And whispered "I love you," to the baby.

Tsunade heard Sakura's squeal and knew just how much her student wanted to hear those words from Sasuke. She saw Ino come out of a patients room and motioned for her to come over. After all, they needed a witness and she was Sakura's best friend. She filled Ino in on the impromptu nuptials and laughed as the blond kunoichi squeed and jumped up and down. Together they went in the room.
****

It was after 4am when they got home and Sakura was exhausted. She went to take a shower and change into her pajamas. When she came out of the bathroom Sasuke was sitting on the bed smiling at her. He was holding two gold bands in his hand. "When did you get these?" she asked as he slipped the smaller of the two in her left ring finger. She studied the band; it had a tiny Uchiha crest engraved on it.

"It was my mom's and this one was my dad's," he explained handing the other to her and letting her slide it on his finger. "It was the only thing I kept after they died. I've carried them with me this whole time. I hope I can make you happy for the rest of our lives. I never want to cause you any more pain here," he said lying his hand over her heart.

She looked into his onyx eyes and cupped his cheek with her hand. "I love you. I've been in love with you since I was twelve years old. This is what I've wanted since then," she stroked his cheek and sat down next to him.

He let his fingers brush her breast. "I was too blinded by revenge...hell...I was just too fucking stupid to see I had the best thing for me in front of me," he brushed his lips against hers and started unbuttoning her jersey. He kissed her and slid his tongue in her mouth, easing her back against the bed. He ran his thumb over her nipple causing her to moan and arch up to him. He untied her pajama pants and slid his hand down onto her hip. He kissed and nipped his way down to her breast, catching a nipple in his mouth.

She moaned and arched up to his touch. She felt the fire spread through her body and moaned again. "Sasuke-kun...*gasp* Please...unh...I need you," she said breathlessly. She felt her pants slide off and his hand slide up her thigh, his fingertips brushing her the folds of her sex. She panted and arched up to his hand, biting at his shoulder and digging her nails across his back. "Please...nngh...S-ssasuke...now," she gasped.

He caught her mouth in a kiss and entered her slowly. She moaned against his mouth and arched up to him. She was fluttering her walls around his cock and he groaned. He picked up speed; he could tell she was getting close. "Sakura...gods...what you do...to me," he panted out as she raked her nails across his back. He could feel the fluttering become more intense and he held on to his control.

"S-sasuke...ahh...harder...fuck...nnnnghhh," she cried as she felt the orgasm start.

He smiled seeing her face and she came, feeling her walls spasming tighter he let go too. He slid out of her and pulled her into his arms. She linked her fingers with his and they both drifted off to sleep as the sun came up.
