Naruto sat up staring at his freshly cooked Ramen, steam rose from the slightly pulled back lid. His favorite meal sat in front of his face, the aroma filling his nostrils, the processed vegetables simmering inside the colored juices. But it’d had lost it’s initial seduction, he no longer wanted it.

His thoughts were plagued by dark haired pixie.

He’d spent three days with her in close proximity and now she haunted his thoughts constantly. It’d been nearly a week since he’d seen her. It was the longest week of his life… how could a female turn him inside out like this?

He replayed the memories in his mind, the moments that had filled his days with a lavender haze. The way her lips turned up in a faint smile when she slept… How her eyes turned soft and kind when she looked at him… How she tugged her full lower lip into her mouth with her teeth..

“Argh!” Naruto threw down his unwanted chopsticks, leaning back into the futon. He weaved his hands behind his head and stared at the ceiling. What the hell was up with him? Confusion and uncertainty ate his brain away, he was slowly going insane. He moaned, protesting against his evil thoughts.

The sound of the clock echoed in the room, the never ending noise shoved the seconds into minutes…

Suddenly a knock came from his door, startling him. He took a quick glanced at the clock as he stood up. It was well past midnight… maybe around two o’clock. He flung his door open and got one helluva surprise.

“Hin-Hinata-chan?”

The girl was standing in his threshold, soaking wet from the torrential downpour outside. The clothes she was wearing were dripping, forming pools at her feet. Her bottom lip was quivering from the cold, tinged an unbecoming shade of blue.

It was fall, what the hell was she thinking? It was almost forty degrees outside!

“N-Naruto-kun, I’m rea-really s-sorry about this, but I c-couldn’t get home and yo-you were the only p-person I could think of close to here… I’m s-so sorr-”

“Get in here right now! Jeeze, you’re gonna get sick!” He grabbed her hand and tugged her inside. He led her to the couch, taking her soaked jacket off of her and throwing it on the floor beside the door. The pale purple tank top surprised him, especially the cleavage it exposed, which had him temporarily distracted. Her hard nipples were thrust up against the damp fabric beckoning his mouth. The air whooshed from his lungs and he was finding himself panting to regain control. Goddamn, did this woman even know what she did to men?

Her hands came up to rub her arms in an attempt to generate some heat. He shook himself, hoping he hadn’t been caught, and pushed the warm cup of Ramen to her, throwing an extremely large towel around her shoulders, it wasn‘t exactly freshly cleaned but it was dry and warm.

“What are you doing out in this?” He asked, he needed to get her ample structure out of his mind.

Hinata played with the flap on top of the cup, enjoying the heat that escaped from it. “Well, I usually train in the rain… I just didn’t realize that it would be so cold tonight. It was pretty warm earlier.” She gently picked up the chopsticks that were askew on the table and stirred the soup.

It had been warmer earlier, reaching around almost eighty degrees, but the cold had settled in later in the day; temperatures dropping with the sun.

“What were you thinking? I mean, you just got out of the hospital… You trying to catch somethin‘?”

Naruto gave her an examining eye, his perfectly sculpted brow raising in suspicion. The expression would have been comical if not for the plain concern in his eyes. It was endearing and the look caused a mixture of feelings to stir within her. She felt the telltale signs of a blush coming on, but fought it down. She'd been thinking of this boy constantly for nearly a week. She was sorely missing his touches and gentle concern. So she'd had a plan to get him off her mind, which was endless hours of training.

Hinata thought about her endless hours of training that never seemed to make any difference. She‘d spent weeks trying to perfect her technique, but to no avail. She was still just slowing everyone down, only good for the lookout. “Well, I suppose it doesn’t matter much. My team is so much better off without me.” She whispered under her breathe.

Naruto’s eyes hardened. “Why do you keep saying that? It’s not true. The reason why you aren’t getting better is only because you don’t believe in yourself.”

Angry humiliation and self-incriminating doubt welled up to the surface, dissolving her carefully erected barriers. How many times had she heard that? How much had she improved? What good was trying when the end result was always failure. It was clear that she was wrongly placed on this earth and should have never been a shinobi. Hinata turned on the couch, facing in the direction he was sitting with a wicked twist of her body.

“Believe in what? That I can succeed? ‘You need to believe in yourself,’ everyone keeps saying that! I believe that I’ll just end up exactly where I started. I’m good for absolutely nothing, the only reason why I’m even qualified to be a ninja is because of these stupid eyes. A genetic trait I can’t improve, I’m useless. I‘m a failure…” Her venting started off heated and loud and ended in broken, bitter sobs. Furious tears blazing down her flushed cheeks.

Naruto just gaped at her. Shocked that the quiet, sweet, usually docile girl could even raise her voice. But as her words clicked in his brain his expression changed. He leaned forward and grabbed her chin between his fingers, tilting her tear-stained face up, forcing her eyes to his. “If you believe you’ll fail then you will. And so far you have. What do you have to lose by trying? It’s that simple, Hinata.”

She dragged her teeth over her bottom lip, trying to still it’s quivering. A thrill spiraled down his spine and settled through his limbs at the seductive habit. Her spiky lashes were laced with moisture, her beautiful face filled with such sadness… Silent tears leaked from the corners of her eyes, making them glossy and bright. Their unique color drawing him in. Her damp skin smelled like freshly blooming water lilies after a summer shower…

Hinata couldn’t stop staring at Naruto, she couldn’t think, she was even holding her breath. The moment had turned magnetic, her body unwilling to turn from the pull of his. The cold that had settled in her earlier seemed a long forgotten memory as warmth wrapped around her, sinking into her skin and heating her blood. “Naruto, I…” She never finished, she didn’t have to.

The odd gravitation pulsed between them, becoming alive. She could feel his breath caressing her lips, moistening them, her own parted in response. A familiar feeling of waiting, of wanting was taking over her.

She was done with waiting. She wanted… something. And she’d have it. She reached up and grabbed his shirt, curling her hand in it and dragging him closer to , ending the tension caused by the pull, she closed her eyes and concentrated on his warmth.

Naruto couldn’t stop himself, she was seducing him with innocent touches. He cupped her face with his palm, cradling her head to him, he slanted his mouth across hers. His eyes slid shut, he wanted to savor this, to make it last as long as he could.

The kiss wasn’t erotic or fast or overly eager at first. It was slow and sensual. More feeling than mindless passion, it was an almost hesitant, learning kiss. That’s what it was, he was learning her. He finally understood why he had been unable to get this slip of a girl off his mind.

It really was so simple. And so utterly complicated.

He was falling for her, head over heels.

He massaged his lips slowly against hers, just enjoying the way her mouth fit perfectly against his. Naruto leaned into her, pushing his weight flush against her. Her clothes were still damp, wetting the front of his own shirt. The feel of her breasts pushing up into his chest sent thick, hot blood to a, now, sensitive area. He felt her tiny hand thread itself into his hair, felt her fingernails scrape erotically against his scalp. He shivered in response.

The feeling’s that were rushing through him were intense, breaking over him in waves. The kiss grew more heated and heavy. He wrapped his arm around the small of her back bringing her into even more intimate contact, her small body was crushed between his and the sofa. Her hips cradled his. He pulled back and brought that tempting lower lip into his own mouth, gently nibbling it like he’d seen her do so many times…

Hinata was floating, her body was heated and all she wanted was Naruto. She wanted him closer to her, she was aching down there. She needed something, a relief. She dug her heels into the couch and ground her hips against his. The friction was amazing, tiny shocks traveled through her, coursing through her and making her tingle in its wake. She heard Naruto’s gasp and felt him grab her waist, in retaliation he rocked against her.

It was becoming too much, the need he had for her was almost consuming his entire mind, they needed to stop. This was going a little bit too fast. He pulled back and rested his forehead against hers. His chest heaving in time with hers.

“Hinata…”

It was a whispered word, so hauntingly sweet that her heart ached in her chest. She splayed her fingers over his face, tracing over it like she had the other day when he was sleeping, but when she ran them over his lips like before, he kissed the tips. She was glad he’s stop the moment, she wasn’t sure she would have been strong enough.

Suddenly reality came crashing down around her, her stomach tightened. Her eyes flew open so wide they looked like plates. When had they become so intimately entangled? She pushed against his chest with her hands desperately. He immediately got off of her.

“I-I’m sorry, but I have to go…” Hinata stuttered, scrambling towards the door.

“Wait!” Naruto jumped off the sofa after her. “Hinata! Wait, please?”

The pleading was soft, almost desperate, and the single word held a world of sadness within it.

She stopped dead, but did not turn around.

His face looked pale and hurt, confusion knitting his brows in a worried line over his eyes. “Hinata… I’m sorry, that was wrong, I shouldn’t have kissed you. I know you didn’t want me to, I just couldn’t help it…You looked so damn beautiful, and I just really wanted to kiss you, I’m sorry. And I’m just, fuck, I’m such a bastard!” The self-loathing was dripping with venom.

She looked at him then, awe-struck. “You wanted to kiss me?”

Naruto raked his hand through his messy hair, only managing to look even more sexy disheveled. His eyes were darker, stormy with the passion he’d just tasted. He gave an intense look, filled with lust, and concern, but also with honesty, “Yes, I’ve wanted to since we first started our mission.”

Now, that was a surprise. She dropped the sopping jacket she’s picked up and walked towards him slowly. “And you think I’m beautiful?”

His nerves suddenly stirred in him, “I do, I never noticed until now, but you are.”

She stopped in front of him, her tiny stature dwarfed even more so by his large frame. “I’m glad you kissed me,” she whispered, and then she reached up and pulled him against her mouth. The kiss was short and shy, and it somehow felt more special than the first.

Naruto buried his face against her neck, and wrapped his arms around her. They stood like that for a few moments.

“Naruto?”

“Hm?”

“The sun’s coming up.”

“Oh?”

“Mhhm, and my father is going to be very angry if he finds me absent this early in the morning.”

“Oh.”

He broke away from her and picked up her discarded jacket. “Can I take you home?”

She smiled shyly at him, “I’d like that.”

He grinned back at her and grabbed her hand, pulling her closer he kneeled down on one knee. “Climb on.”

He felt her hesitate but eventually her small frame relaxed against his back, he hooked his hands under her knees and hoisted her up further. He felt her slender arms snake around his neck and her face burry in between his shoulders. He smiled. “C’mon, no reason to be so shy. It’s just me.”

Yeah, she thought, only the boy I’ve been in love with since the Academy years, no big deal.

As they traveled towards the Hyuuga shrines, Hinata became apprehensive, enough so that she finally got the ovaries to ask Naruto about it.

“Uh, uhhm, Naruto?”

“Yeah?”

“Are we dating?”
