Chapter 1: Here I Come!

"No..." the little girl cried. She holds onto her teddy bear closer to herself and whimpered. She could hear the cries of the people fighting from outside. Glancing around her room she saw a figure approaching the door. She tried to make herself hide in the corner more but couldn't. She then heard laughing. She ducked her head down, burying it in her teddy bear, her midnight blue with a tint of purple hair covering her purple onyx eyes.

"Where is that girl?" She heard a man say harshly.

"N-not here!" She heard her mother say.

"Oh really? Well then, I'll just have to make you tell me where she is!" She saw the shadow of her mother being thrown across the room and then she heard-

BEEP BEEP BEEP...BEEP BEEP BEE- click.

 

"What..?" The cover shifted a little and out came a girl sitting on her bed. "...what time is it?" She asked herself glancing at the clock that she turned off. "Oh... it's already 5:15?" She wordlessly got out of bed and went into the bathroom, half-asleep. When she emerge she put on her outfit which consist of a navy blue tee-shirt and a red collar vest zipped up only three fourth of the way and cargo shorts. Along her arms are bandages from above her wrist to about her elbow. Her legs also have bandages from about below her knee to right above her ankle. She has short midnight blue hair where her front ends at her chin and the back ends right below her shoulder blades with a tint of purple in them and purple onyx eyes. If you look at her in the front, and not look at how long her hair was, you would think that she was Sasuke Uchiha because her hair also sticks up in random directions, mostly on her left side though and she does not look like a cockatoo.

"Jeez... What a bother." She said to herself while scratching the back of her head. "Great... now I'm acting like Shikamaru... just great..." She grabbed her ninja gear and went downstairs. Looking around in her apartment she noticed how... empty it looked. "Mom would've been like, 'You haven't had breakfast yet! Eat up before you go, you need your energy!' and dad would've agreed but I'd just leave..." She thought to herself before leaving for school.

 

The girl entered the classroom only to be greeted with...an empty classroom besides a certain raven hair antisocial person. While walking to her seat behind him, she stopped next to him. He raised an eyebrow at her, wondering what she wanted.

"Morning cockatoo boy." She said playfully with a smirk and proceeded on walking one row up to her seat. He growled and turned around glaring at her.

"What is it cockatoo boy?" She asked.

"Why do you keep on calling me cockatoo boy, Raito?" he asked.

"Easy, you're hair makes you look like a cockatoo, Uchiha." She said pointing to his hair. "So now what, we're on last names talking bases now? 'Cause my first name is Rayne (pronounce like the word rain) incase you didn't' know, Sasuke."

"I don't think idiotic fools deserves me to call them by their first names." Sasuke replied prideful. Rayne growled at him and hissed,

"So now the heartthrob thinks he's all high and mighty, huh? Well guess what, the only idiotic fool I see is the one right in front of me."

"Hn. Girls are more idiotic than boys."

"So now you admit that you're a girl and crossed dress to become a boy so you don't look so idiotic? Wow Uchiha, I think I already know that." Sasuke just turned around and looked at the board again. The girl, known as Rayne, went into her own little world, wondering about the dream that she had earlier. It still puzzled her eventhough it lasted a little longer than the other dreams, though she wanted to know what happened. It'll help her with her past that she doesn't remember. The dream has her mom in it, so it must be connected to how her mother's clan was murdered. Soon, the class started to fill up and the class started. During the middle of class she looked out the window next to her because she was bored and saw the four Hokage faces all painted. She tried to hold in a laugh because she knew who did this, it had to be the one and only, Naruto Uzumaki. He was absent from class when Iruka sensei did roll call this morning. Rayne, herself, would have helped Naruto in his pranks to have a little fun but nobody knows that she was nice to the little troublemaker and she plans to keep it that way. She can't let other people know she's getting soft. She chuckled, catching attention from the class, who was doing independent work. They were also surprised because usually, Rayne Raito doesn't show emotions besides smirking, being sarcastic and occasionally laughing. She's almost like a girl Sasuke, both being the top in the class and all.

"May I know what's so funny, Rayne?" Iruka sensei asked. Rayne turned to look at Iruka and wanted to tell him about what Naruto did but instead, she put on an emotionless face and replied,

"Nothing." Moments after though, they heard laughter and shouts of shinobi telling Naruto to come back. Iruka sensei dashed out of the room to follow Naruto after telling everyone to stay seated. Of course, after he left everyone stood up from his or her seats and left to talk. All the girls went to Sasuke, of course, except Rayne.

Rayne's point of view

I was just sitting her, minding my own business looking outside at the clouds when I heard Shikamaru talked to me.

"Hey, you knew that Naruto was out there, why didn't you say something?" He asked leaning back on his chair and looking at the ceiling. I smirked back at him.

"Because, it's fun to watch Naruto do his pranks. I was watching this one since class started. I personally think the faces looks better now." Before Shikamaru could reply, Iruka sensei came back with a tied up Naruto.

"LET ME GO!" Naruto yelled. You, along with the whole class, watched as Iruka dragged a bound Naruto into the room and plopped him down in front of the class.
Iruka glared at him. "Tomorrow all your classmates will pass the final and graduate from the ninja academy, but the last two times this day came around, you flunked every course you'd taken in the secret arts!" He yelled. "So you chose now for your stupid tricks!? You moron!"
"Sir, yes, sir!" Naruto said sarcastically.
Iruka's eye twitched angrily. "Today in class we'll be reviewing the art of transformation!" he said, gritting his teeth.
"WHAT?!" the class yelled.
"All you have to do is..."Iruka began, "Conjure a form that looks like me." I groan. I hate transformation, not that I can do it, just the fact that... it's BORING...

"Form a line! Iruka instructed sternly. I walked toward the bottom of the stairs, not caring if I'm first and avoiding the crowd who wants to be next to Sasuke. For some reason, I manage to be right after Naruto and before Shikamaru. Sakura and Sasuke both transformed into Iruka sensei successfully but Naruto... he changed into a naked girl! Iruka sensei had a nosebleed and I had to bite my lip so I don't burst out laughing at the sight. Naruto was punished, again and now it's my turn.

"Ready Rayne?" Iruka sensei asked. I nodded and said,

"Henji (transform)!" I transformed into him and back. When I walked up to my seat I stopped by Naruto's seat and asked quietly so no one would hear,

"Hey, nice jutsu, mind teaching it to me sometime? I'll help you on transforming properly too." Naruto looked at me in shocked for a moment before grinning and replied,

"Sure! Anytime!" I nodded and gave him one of my very small smile but it vanished in a second and I continued up to my seat.

3rd point of view

After everyone was done Iruka started talking to the class. Rayne thought this was boring and only half paid attention. You looked up when he sat something about test but that's it. At the end of the day Rayne just went home after mumbling a quick bye to Shikamaru.

Later, Rayne was bored so she went outside and walked around. While turning a corner, she bumped right into Sasuke!

"Watch where you're going" He hissed.

"You bumped into me, crossdresser." Rayne spat back.

"Idiot"

"Jerk"

"Bitch" Sasuke said angrily.

"Asshole" Rayne replied back. She then saw Naruto trying to get the paint off the four Hokage faces and decided to end this. "You're not worth my time, cockatoo boy. Watch where you're going, next time you'll run into one of your fangirls." Rayne said, saying the word fangirls like it was poison. She then jumped onto the roof and jumped from roof to roof toward the Hokage faces leaving the Uchiha on the street glaring at her back. When Rayne reached the rooftop closest to Naruto she stopped.

"Oi! Naruto!" She yelled out waving her hand in on motion. Naruto and Iruka sensei looked down and was surprised to see Rayne. Naruto waved back and shouted hi. Rayne moved back a few steps then ran and jumped up into the air, twisting her body and doing a flip before landing next to Naruto.

"Wow! How do you do that?! You have to teach me that!!" Naruto said excitedly. Rayne smirked at Naruto and nodded.

"So, what cha' doin'?" She asked glancing at the faces. "Cleaning your mess, huh?"

"Yeah..." Naruto said turning to clean the face again. Rayne scratched her head, as if deciding what to do. Iruka observed this from above and wondered what Rayne would do. Finally, she gave a small sigh and picked up the other sponge and started to help Naruto clean his mess.

"Huh?" Naruto said surprised. "Oh! Y-you don't need to do that Ray-nee-chan!" Naruto said to her. Rayne stopped and looked at Naruto with an eyebrow raised.

"Ray-nee-chan?" She asked. Naruto then realized what he said and quickly said,

"Sorry! I mean, you don't have to do that Rayne-chan..."

"You can call me whatever you want, Naruto-kun, just not in front of other people... like the class." Rayne said then continued cleaning. Naruto looked confused but started to clean again.

"Ray-nee-chan... why are you helping me?" Naruto asked after a few moments of silence. Iruka sensei also became quiet, also wanting to know the answer to the question. Rayne became quiet for a moment then said softly,

"I just think... you've lived by yourself for far too long. I think... you just..." Rayne then turn toward Naruto and gave a once-in-a-lifetime grin. Both Iruka and Naruto were shocked at the grin because Rayne never gave anything close to a smirk or grin. "I think you just deserve better. I would've become your friend before but I had my own problems to deal with... although I was always there when you needed help..." Naruto grinned happily and continued working along side Rayne while Iruka watch and, unknown to them all, the Hokage was watching from his ball and was pleased to see that Naruto had a new friend.
