Here it goes. The fight may have you confused but it doesn't follow Naruto exactly so... you won't know what'll happen. If you absolutely can't wait and have no idea I clarify at the end.

We had done it. We had defeated one of them. Ino had found an inner strength she had never known before. Maybe she was strong. She quickly set her mind to the here and now. One of these sound-nin are down but this fight is far from over yet. She didn't have much chakra left and a quick look at her team, team seven, and Rock Lee she had begun to concede. Its over but I won't go down without a fight was the thoughts going through her head when a heavy Tai-jutsu barrage was unleased by the leader of the sound ninja team on Shikamaru. That freak with the head wrap was going to know pain if she could help it. Ino quickly aided Shikamaru with Chouji and Sakura right behind her. He retreated quickly and before we knew it we were hit with powerful winds from behind where we fell to the ground by Rock Lee. Damn. The arms of the helmed sound-nin lackey were indeed as powerful as the one of the leader. The sound-nins let out a monstrous laugh. The lackey-nin pulled out a menacing blade and like the other began to circle us. Shikamaru and Chouji were out cold. Sakura was still holding on somehow despite what she had been through. Ino attempted to scramble to her feet but had come to the conclusion she had nothing left. She couldn't move. Was this how it was gonna end. Never feeling the warmth of a man. Never having the happiness of a family. No thats not the way to think Ino. At least I'll be going down with friends she thought to herself. The lackey lunged at her with a hard over hand strike. Ino closed her eyes and hoped for the best but planned on the worst. The blade struck flesh. She felt the blood trickle down her face. Quick and painless.......
*No Ino your not dead yet* was the thought echoing through her mind as she opened her eyes. No the blood was not hers. the blade had struck the flesh of the silent kid she had seen around the academy. The blade was deep in his arm puncturing through the other side and stopping inches from the blonde's face. The short blade was hilted and Rennik showed no pain in his face. Only a fierce determination that in truth scared her. Rennik broke the hilte of the blade causing it to become sharp as her force the lackey's hand on to the end until it reached the med-nins own arm. Rennik let loose a sinister laugh and bent both ends of the weapon sealing the two ninjas together. The words that escaped Renniks mouth next chilled Ino to the bone. "You nearly kill my friends and now this. I will enjoy ripping you to pieces you pathetic worms!" Renniks free hand flew forward as his opposite arm pulled back causing the lackey to fall forward which was followed by a heavy connection of skull and fist that had disoriented the lackey. The leader turned his attention to the new comer and let loose a volley of kunai. Rennik moved the lackey in the way causing the lackey to use his free arm to blow the kunais away least he die himself. *Why me? Why would this stranger risk his life to save me? No I will not let him die.* Was the last thought across Ino's mind as she began gathering any chakra left anywhere in her body.

I was almost too late Rennik smirked to himself. These guys aren't finishing the exam if I have anything to say about it and they sure as hell were not killing Ino. I would make sure of that if it cost me my life. From the last attacked launched at Ino I knew the helmed ones arms were dangerous but I had already taken measures to prevent him from using them. He wouldn't dare that close. However as the Tai-Jutsu match between the two sound-nins and himself had started he realized that any arms were dangerous and I would need to avoid them at all costs if I am to have any chance at all. It was a lot easier with my human shield. These two had little to know skills when it came to Tai-jutsu so taking the two of them on was a possibility. I had managed to pull out a kunai with my prisoner arm without either of the sound-nin noticing. I focused a large portion of my chakra into the kunai hardening the metal for its destination was tough. I performed a quick left snap kick followed by a heavy round house right which disoriented the leader sound-nin and the kunai struck true shattering the metal guantlet on the sound-nin's arm. The lackey unleashed a barrage of punches on me though most were blocked it was too much and I had depleted myself from the days fight. The lackey broke the blade bonding us together and hit me with a powerful wind from his one good hand. I found myself surrounded by darkness only seeing the faint of shadows standing around me.

Amaz ing but we have them defeated now the sound-nin smirked while inspecting his shattered gauntlet. "Kill that fuck!" The leader watched as his companion moved in on his target. Shocked by the power someone so weak looking possed. He had succesfully taken their power down to twenty-five percent with the precision targeting of their most powerful weapons but none of that mattered now. They can kill Sasuke and finish Orochimaru's little errand. When he snapped out of his thoughts he realized they were quite out numbered. The two companions of the blonde had awakened and were standing with her along with the pink haired girl. "We're leaving" the leader announced. He knew they wouldn't be able to finish their mission anymore. They had nothing left anymore. "I can take them out" the helmed one spoke as he lifted his arm. No wind this time. He was just as spent as anyone else at this point. "Consider yourselves lucky!" the leader announced dissapearing into the trees followed by his remaining companion.
(AN- Ya the fight was like on Naruto minus Sasuke waking up and going phsycho curse mark killer with a vengence.)

Ino shuddered slowly walking over to her savior. He layed still but concious. He looked at me " Yamanaka Ino are you ok?" he managed in a very flat casual voice. "Yes I'll be fine. They are gone and you can rest. I'll watch over you."
"Thank you Ino-chan. There are two men in the bushes a little south of here. They are likely to be unconcious. They are on my team so please do not let them come to any harm."
"No thank you. I don't know how that would've end...." Rennik had lost conciousness. It could wait for another time she decided as she went in search of the other two. With so many questions for her savior racing through her mind.

I bolted upright with images of Ino still fresh in my mind. I heard a quiet whimpering coming from the other side of the bushes. I decided to investigate taking note my companions the Tamakis laying to either side of me. I quickly found the source. Ino's beautiful flawless face was wet and red from crying. "Ino-Chan what it the matter?" I said as sincerly as I could possibly muster taken aback by the situation.
"It's Shikamaru" she sniffled."Hes not going to make it she motioned to the small clearing where Chouji sat staring at Shikamaru who lay motionless on the ground before him.
I looked to Ino and calmly took her hand "I'll see what I can do". I kneeled by Shikarmaru examining the damage. It was a simple stomache pig stick but there was something lodged in the wound. Most of the damage done to the genious was mere blood loss. Nothing a little majic can't fix I concluded placing a hand on his stomach and another on his forehead. My hands began to glow as I took a more detailed look at the damage. "Light concussion, a creature in his stomache wound, fractured femur, cracked rib." I sayed drawing startled glances from the two companions of Shikamaru. I dug a kunai into the injured man before me and removed the annoying carnivourous beetle that decided on Shika as a snack. Once again placing a hand over his stomache wound and his forehead I let forth a surge of chakra coursing through his body repairing the serious damages. Shikamaru began coughing as he sat up with one of his trademark 'Im an idiot' look on his face. Ino was speechless as I stood up "Good as new" I chuckled reaching into my pouch and retrieving a few herbs handing them to Shikamaru. "Add these to whatever you drink next and you should make a quick recovery"
I took note the earth scroll in his right and the heaven scroll in his left hand as he pocketed the herbs along with the scrolls.
Shikamaru attempted to stand and realizing how weak he was from the blood loss he gave up "What a drag." the genious commented as he lay there. I returned to my still unconsious companions and began administering treatments easily brining Haru out of his stupor but Kanaru was heavily damaged and all I could do was stabalize him. "Thanks mate" Haru mustered before falling to sleep. A tap on my shoulder startled me but it was only Ino.
Her eyes were clear again and she let her angelic voice escape her gentle lips "Thank you so much umm."
"Rennik" I stated realizing her confusion.
"I'm so sorry we caused you so much trouble and here" She said producing a heaven and earth scroll from behind her back "take them. We owe you our lives."
"I'm sorry to dissapoint you babe" I sarcastically stated flashing our own two scrolls. She let out a sigh of relief. I picked up my two companions and turned to Ino "Thanks for watching over us but we'll get out of your way now" I turned and prepared to leap into the trees when Ino tugged at my arm.
"Wait... Would you mind if we accompanied you to the tower?" she asked motioning to Shikamaru and Chouji who had just shown up.
"Not at all" I chuckled and leaped off across the tree tops with a Tamaki draped over each shoulder and the three rookies close behind me. was this really happening. Did I seriously just have a conversation with Ino. I argued with myself about whether to tell Ino my feelings or not while I was on this roll of mine. I conceded that she hardly knew me and telling her now while she was still infatuated with the Uchiha was a bad idea.

One of Rennik's companions had woken up. Haru I believe his name was and after a large ammount of pleading from Rennik was convinced that a larger group was alot less likely to be attacked than 2 men with a comatose being toted around. Ino was still trying to figure out why this man she hardly knew would decide to save their lives and Shikamaru's twice but still stick around to help them to the end. I mean they could've left Shikarmaru to die and have elimanted a team in the process. She shrugged the thought off and glanced at Rennik. Which was apparently a terrible idea for she had missed the next branch and found herself plummeting towards a spiky pit of brush. Before she knew it she was in Rennik's arm and safely on a tree branch."Hrnn" Did he just groan she wondered to herself though after a glance at his face and arm she remembered how he injured it in that fight. The strike that was destined to take her life. "I'm so sorry" she quickly regained herself.
"Its not a problem just watch out ya know?"
"Can't you heal it?" she got out wondering if the answer was gonna make her regret mentioning it.
"I could but during the fight the blade was twisted a lot and it really damaged it bad and it would take my remaining chakra to fix it. I would rather save the chakra and get the fuck out of this forest before I take the time to deal with it."
Yup she regretted it. She studied Rennik's face for a little but before noticing the suns in his eyes. She found herself just staring into them. "Umm Ino-chan? Are you feeling all right?" worry coating his voice. "Ya ya I'm fine sorry." she tried to hide the embarrasment in her voice. "Are you sure it wouldn't take that long to check?". "No really, really I am fine." The rest of the day was uneventful except for reaching the end. Ino turned to Rennik "Look I really asppreciate what you did for us and just let me know if theres anything we could help you with."
"Ya you saved our necks. Death would've been... Troublesome" Shikamaru agreed.
They parted ways, entered thier respective doors and solved their puzzles. Rennik took this time to heal his arm. "We should take this time to rest Haru. I have a bad feeling we are far from done yet."
