Epilogue
100 Years Later
The shadowy figure moves swiftly from tree to tree, a small groan escaping his throat. He moves at blazing speeds, searching the large forest. His open grey jacket fluttered behind him, his hands tucked into his pocket. A tight black shirt hugged his skin. Dark grey cargo pants hung loosely along his legs, also fluttering slightly in the rushing air. Along his pail face were dark sunglasses, hiding his eyes from the world. Long fuzzy back hair sat atop his head, and peaking out the top of his dark afro were two dark grey fox ears. Behind him swung eight dark grey fox tails. He gave another small groan. This figure was Shino Kitsune, and he was in a hurry.
Moving through the forest, Shino's sensitive ears soon picked up many small giggles. His eyes shifted as he moved towards that direction. It didn't take him long to come to small clearing where he was met with a very familiar sight. Below him he watched a man behind a bush, spying on four beautiful women, showering under a small waterfall. The man had eight light grey tails swinging slowly behind him. He held a small pad and pencil in his hand, taking notes as he watched the various female Kitsune.
He let out a small perverted giggle behind the bushes, jotting down notes excitedly. All of the women's fox ears twitched slightly as the giggle reached their ears. They stopped their bathing, turning their naked bodies towards the direction of the bush. As they looked in the direction, small smirks appeared across their lips as they suddenly jumped into the bushes. There was a small shriek off surprise as the man was tackled to the ground by four very attractive and very naked women.
“Were you spying on us again Jiraiya-kun? You know all you have to do is ask if you want to watch us.” One of the women said in a purr while swirling a finger across his robed chest.
Each of the four Kitsune smiled down at him lovingly, snuggling close into his pinned body. Jiraiya, held them close with his tails.
“I just want to see how you act when you know no one is watching you. It's very important for my next book.” Jiraiya responded with a playful pout. The girls just let out a small giggle, snuggling closer into him.
“We know when you are watching us, but we always act the same. Can't you take your notes without having to sneak around?” One of the women asked seductively, her five dark orange tails swinging gracefully behind her. Small drips of water slid down her pale skin and onto Jiraiya as she spoke. Jiraiya stared at her body with unfocused eyes.
“But Nala, I need to be sure you're not just showing off for me and…” Jiraiya started before being interrupted by someone above them clearing his throat. Jiraiya and the four girls looked up to see Shino standing on a branch.
“What are you five doing? Don't you know that the ceremony is about to start? You need to get to the mother tree quickly.” Shino said in agitation.
Jiraiya sat up, rubbing the back of his head in embarrassment, his harem holding onto him closely, smiling up at Shino.
“Oh yea, thanks Shino, it almost slipped my mind.” Jiraiya responded with a nervous laugh.
“Yes, thank you Shino-kun!” The four girls chimed. Shino simply rolled his eyes, watching them take off towards the ceremony. After making sure they were actually going to the ceremony, Shino took off again into the forest again. There were only a few stragglers left.
After a little bit of travel Shino came to a large field of flowers. It was a bright and sunny day, the light from the sun shining down on the flowers and the demons playing in the large field. Shino stared at the scene before walking into the field.
Throughout the field little children ran to and fro, chasing around a large white dog. All of their small little tails flailed back and forth excited as they ran on all fours trying to grab the dog darting rapidly in random directions. There were around fifteen little Kitsune in all.
“Get back here Akamaru-san, stop moving so fast.” One child yelled while still giving chase, a dozen small kits following closely behind. Akamaru barked happily before suddenly stopping in his tracks, his seven white tails swinging wildly behind him. He then lunged at the closest child to him, talking the kit to the ground. He licked the kit while the other children jumped on top of Akamaru giggling and laughing cheerfully.
A little ways away three figures watched the scene with smiles across their faces. One figure was a man with black shaggy hair and seven black tails swinging behind him. He had dark red triangle tattoo on either side of his face. He sat with his legs folded, holding a women in his lap. Sitting on his lap was a woman with lavender hair, her fuzzy ears and six tails the same color. She smiled at the children while snuggling close into the man's chest.
Kneeling down next to them was another man; this one was wearing a white robe that covered his entire body. He had a long brown pony tail blowing steadily in the wind, a small scar spread across his nose. He sat with his three brown tails swaying slowly, watching over the children.
Shino walked over to the three, eying them in frustration, they all waves over to him as he approached.
“Kiba, Hinata, Iruka, what are you doing here? Why haven't you left for the ceremony?” Shino questioned with a frown. As he said this he suddenly found himself surrounded as the children in the field rushed over to him.
“Shino-kun come play with us.” The children chimed all together. Looking down at the children, Shino got his answer.
“Not now children, we can play after the ceremony. Don't you want to see Kenshi-kun get promoted?” Shino asked while squatting down to their level. The children grinned up at him while nodding their heads. They then ran over to Iruka, jumping up and down.
“Come on Iruka-kun; let's go see Kenshi-kun.” One little girl squeaked. Iruka nodded while getting up slowly. As he rose, Kiba got up, lifting Hinata up bridal style. He then looked at the kids and took off into the forest.
“Come on, I'll race all of you.” Kiba shouted over his shoulder. Suddenly all of the children took off after Kiba, Akamaru following close behind. Hinata released a small shriek as Kiba suddenly carried her into the forest towards the mother tree. Iruka and Shino watched them leave before Iruka turned to face Shino.
“Sakura and Lee are on their way. And I also just saw Ino, Shikamaru, and Temari heading to the ceremony as well.” Iruka said in a soft tone. Shino nodded his approval. He then looked out to another direction.
“There is still a matter of Naruto's last son.” Shino replied. Iruka released a small sigh.
“If I know him and I do, then I'm pretty sure Anko is holding him up again. You should get to Yang quickly before they start up again; you know how grumpy they get when you interrupt them in the middle of their…activities.” Iruka said, releasing another sigh. Shino gave a small nod in response watching Iruka take off into the forest. After watching him leave Shino took a moment to see if he could pin point Yang's location. He sighed when he found that both Anko and Yang had severed their mind ling. He began to grumble lowly before taking off, having to track them down by their chakra signatures.
After several minutes of high speed travel, Shino finally pin pointed their location. He was led out of the large forest and had to make his way across a few miles of Open Ocean to arrive at an island. Once at the small island it didn't take him long to find them. He moved through a few bushes, following a familiar sound, the sound of pleasure filled moans. After another few seconds of navigating the island, he came to the bottom of a small rocky cliff where the objects of his search were revealed in plain sight. He shook his head at the site in front on him.
A few yards away from Shino, we find two figures. One figure stands upright, hovering over the other. She wore tight leather pants, with black leather high heels on her feet. Around her petite body she wore an open leather vest, with a fishnet shirt under it, revealing her mature breasts. Around her hands are black leather gloves. In her hands she holds a long, black, plastic, toy fox paw, a sadistic smile running across her lips. She has dark purple hair on top of her head, with two dark purple ears poking from her hair. Behind her, six dark purple tails sway gently as she lustfully eyes the figure under her. She is none other than Anko Kitsune.
Looking past her we can see the object of her lust. The figure is bent over, his hands pressed against the side of the stone wall, supporting his weight. He is dressed in a frilly black maid's uniform, with black high heels adorning his delicate feet. His long black hair flows down his back, as his eight fluffy golden tails sway behind him, making sure not to block the view of his round butt, which is currently covered by a frilly black skirt. His ass is raised high, his back arched, waiting for Anko to take advantage of him. This is of course, the Chikage's son, Yang.
Anko's grin widen as she reaches under his skirt, lifting it and revealing black lace panties covering Yang's smooth, pale rump. She moves closer to his body, hovering over him, placing a hand on his delicate shoulders while gently running the plastic fox paw along his panties.
“You've been a bad girl haven't you?” Anko whispers in his ear. Yang only manages to release a soft, barely audible moan while nodding his head slowly. “Then you are prepared for the worst.” Anko whispers again while pushing the plastic fox paw under Yang's panties, letting it ghost across his sensitive tail hole. A small buzzing noise emits from the toy as it begins to vibrate. Anko growls in satisfaction as another moan escape Yang's lips.
To the side Shino glares daggers at the two, although his glare is blocked by his sunglasses. Of course he still doesn't move his face that much when he glares, but he was indeed glaring. He released a silent but deep growl which drew the attention of the two lovers. They both turned to him, noting the glare he was sending at them. Yang moved from his position to hide behind Anko. She sighed while walking over to Shino, Yang following close behind.
“You're no fun Shino.” Anko said with a huff before turning around and quickly picking Yang up bridal style. Yang welcomed this with a girlish giggle while snuggling into her breasts. Anko then looked to Shino with a smirk.
“I guess the ceremony is a little bit more important than our fun. I'll get the princess there before it's over.” Anko said while looking down at Yang and disappearing from sight.
As they left, Shino rubbed his temple in annoyance. This happened maybe once every few hundred years and still people decided they had better things to do. It's not like anyone had any real obligations anyway, the least they could do was be on time for one of the most important ceremonies of the clan.
After a few more minutes of brooding, Shino suddenly began to make his way to the highest point of the island. He climbed the cliff rapidly and stood at the edge. Once there it looked as if he were just staring out into the ocean, but what he was really doing was looking out all across the world. All around the world, every place there was life, from the dessert foxes to the snow foxes, the world tuned into Kenshi's ceremony: Foxes all over the world that couldn't be at the ceremony personally, closed their eyes and watched the ceremony through their mind links.
The world was so quiet, every soul connected to each other, all sharing one experience. Shino released a small breath as a breeze swept past him. He loved these times, the time to just enjoy the peace in the world. Even though he was busy a lot with running errands for Naruto the Chikage he still had plenty of time to just stop and listen. He could barely remember the last time he had to fight for his life, or the last time he feared being murdered in his sleep. That time was so long ago, that time of chaos, of hate, it almost felt like a dream, a distant memory.
As Shino was lost in his thoughts he suddenly picked up a feint scent, the wind blowing from a different direction, he recognized that sent and looked towards the direction.
“So there is still one more person that hasn't tuned in for the ceremony. Why does he have to be like this?” Shino thought to himself while speeding in the scent's direction. After a few minutes of travel off the island and back into the forest, he soon came across another clearing, but in this clearing was a huge pond, and in the middle of that pond sat a man with his legs crossed, his long black hair sinking into the water. A black robe adorned the man's body, nine black tails swaying rhythmically behind him. Shino gave a sigh as he slowly walked across the pond, over to the man. Once he made his way over, he kneeled down behind the man, wrapped his arms around the smaller man's waist, and rested his face on the man's head, giving a small sniff.
“Itachi, why are you here all alone, aren't you going to the ceremony?” Shino asked in a soft voice, talking into Itachi's hair, Itachi's fluffy black ear's giving no reaction as Shino whispered directly into them.
“This isn't right, none of this is right.” Itachi said in a barely audible whisper, still staring down at the water. Shino stayed silent for a few moments before responding slowly.
“What is bothering you?” Shino asked while closing his eyes, moving his body closer to Itachi's.
“This life, this peace, none of it seems real; it's too perfect this can't be real.”
Shino looked down at Itachi with sad eyes. Shino had known Itachi for so many years now, he knew Itachi better than anyone, even better than Sasuke. Even though Itachi was accepted into the family years ago he still found a way to isolate himself from the rest. Shino was one of the few people who knew what Itachi was going through, even after a decade Itachi was still having a hard time adjusting to demon life. Ever since The Great Genocide, war had all but disappeared. The urge to fight, to kill, to hate was replace by a great need to protect, care, and love for those who survived and chose to join the family.
Shino also had a hard time adjusting and through this similarity, he and Itachi found a connection. But now shino had adjusted to the new peace of this world, and still Itachi had not. Itachi still couldn't understand how Sasuke could forgive him after what he did. He didn't understand why he had such a strong urge to protect those in his new family. He couldn't understand how the life he knew, a life of hate, suffering, and pain could be extinguished right before his eyes. Only six months after Naruto declared war on the world the entire human race had been extinguished. Every living person in the world was either killed or joined the family. And all at once it was all gone, his reason for fighting, the reason he lived, extinguished, replaced by this…perfection. It was too perfect, and Itachi just couldn't adjust.
Itachi and Shino shared a long silence, Shino not wanting to disturb Itachi until he was ready, even as he hugged Itachi close to him. Finally Itachi spoke again.
“I can't get rid of this feeling, a feeling that something is coming, something that will take all of this away from us. There is no balance. There must be a balance. For every feeling of happiness, there has to be misery. For every feeling of love, there has to be loneliness, where is the balance.” Itachi whispered in frustration. Shino stayed in his place, again taking time to think before answering.
“Why does there have to be a balance.” Shino asked a hint of anger in his voice, the slightest hint. He wasn't angry at Itachi, just angry.
“Don't tell me you don't feel it. Whether we like it or not, something somewhere demands balance, and eventually, inevitably, it will come to bring balance.” Itachi again whispered with a more depressed tone to his soft voice.
“I know, we can all feel it, it's not just you. But we won't let that feeling rule us. We chose to enjoy our lives while we can, enjoy this peace, enjoy this happiness while we can. So if and when this thing comes, we can say that whatever punishment we may face…was worth it.” They again fell silent, thinking about what Shino just said. Suddenly to Shino's surprise, Itachi began to move, repositioning himself in Shino's hold. He turned around, getting on his knees and laid his head against the larger man's chest, letting his arms fall limp at his side.
Shino stared down at Itachi and rested his chin on Itachi's head, gently kissing one of his fuzzy ears. He wrapped his arms around Itachi's shoulders, closing his eyes again. They sat there for a few minutes, just listening to each other's soft breaths. After a while Shino whispered down to Itachi.
“If we leave now, we can make it to the last moment of the ceremony.” Shino said while waiting for Itachi's answer. Itachi nodded his head silently. He then grabbed onto Shino's shoulders and wrapped his legs around Shino's waist. Shino gave Itachi's ear another gentle kiss before wrapping one arm around Itachi and picking him up. Shino made no comment about how clingy Itachi could be sometimes, he would rather he be clingy then suicidal. Making sure he had a good grip on the man in his arms, Shino suddenly took off towards the mother tree.
Shino moved through the brush faster than normal, wanting to see at least some of the ceremony. As he sped through the forest his lips contorted into a small smile. He was nearing the Mother tree. A few second later Shino began to slow down as he made his way into an enormous clearing. Stopping in the back, he looked over the activities
The clearing was completely filled with fox demons of all ages, shapes, sizes, and colors, hunched over on the ground, hanging from the trees and generally positioned all over. They all looked towards the mother tree, more they looked to the people under the mother tree. The clearing was in complete silence except for the voice emanating from under the mother tree. Shino looked over to the mother tree, positioning himself so Itachi, who still clung tightly to him, could see as well.
There were two men facing each other. Only one was talking. The one talking stood taller than the other, his nine golden fox tails swaying slowly, his long blond hair fluttering in the wind. The man was completely naked, showing many small scars across his tan body. The tall, nine tailed fox was Naruto Kitsune, Chikage of the Tree Village. He rested one hand on the head of the man in front of him, or more, the fox in front of him.
Standing in front of Naruto was a slightly shorter, nine tailed black fox. He was also completely naked with slick, smooth black fur covering his entire body. His nine black tails also swung freely behind him as he listened to the speech Naruto was currently giving. This was none other than Kenshi Kitsune, first son of Naruto, and soon to be Chikage of the Tree Village. The huge crowd marveled at the scene in front of them as Naruto continued his speech.
“…safety and wellbeing of our family is now entrusted in your paws. You must protect them, treat with kindness and fairness, and overall, you must love them. This will be a great burden but I believe that you will continue to lead and support your family, guiding them on the right path, the path of peace, of caring, of unity, and of love. If you will accept this burden, I will now bestow upon you the title of Chikage. Kenshi Kitsune, do you accept this burden?” Naruto said while eying his son with a smile. Kenshi looked up at his father happily, returning the smile. He gave a small nod.
“I Kenshi Kitsune, accept this burden.” Naruto's smile grew brighter before the hand resting on Kenshi's head suddenly traveled down to Kenshi's forehead. Suddenly a dark red symbol for “Fox” appeared across Naruto's forehead. It then disappeared before reappearing on Kenshi's forehead, shining brightly through his fur; as this happened four more symbols appeared on Naruto's body, one each of Naruto's shoulders and one on each of his knees, like before the symbols disappeared, and appeared onto Kenshi, glowing brightly. The symbols were the kanji's for “Family,” “Peace,” “Love,” and “Acceptance”. Kenshi looked at his symbols before again staring up at Naruto.
“Congratulations and thank you, Kenshi Kitsune, Chikage of the Tree Village.” Naruto whispered softly before embracing his son in a warm hug. As he finished the world erupted in a fit of cheers, yips, and howls. Those in the clearing ran up to Kenshi to congratulate him personally. As Kenshi was surrounded, a path was made in the crowd as a figure walked slowly towards Kenshi, a small smile gracing his lips.
The fox had dark brown hair fixed into long pig tails. There was a small blue flower tied in between his flurry brown ears. He wore a formal light blue female kimono, the kimono fitting perfectly around his petite body. His four dark brown swung hypnotically behind him as he gracefully made his way over to Kenshi. One there he placed his hands gently against Kenshi's chiseled, furry chest. Kenshi soon wrapped his arms around the fox's waist, pulling their bodies closer. They indulged in a tender kiss, clothing their eyes in bliss. As they parted the fox in Kenshi's arms spoke softly.
“Congratulations Kenshi-kun.” He whispered. Kenshi stared lovingly down at him with half lidded eyes.
“Thank you Sora-chan.” As they finished, there were a series of giggles and cheers around them before they were again swarmed by many excited foxes.
A little ways away Naruto watched the scene in content. As he did two figures made their way to his side. They laid their heads on either side of his head. He wrapped his tails around their bodies, pulling them closer. A petite female black fox stood to his left side, hugging closely into him, to his right another fox hugged close to him as well, this one male, his pale, delicate hands, hugging lovingly onto Naruto's arm. These two were Midnight and Sasuke, Naruto's mates. He pulled them both into his exposed muscular chest, kissing them both on the forehead. They all looked to Kenshi.
“He has grown up so much. He will be a great leader Naru-kun.” Sasuke whispered up to Naruto.
“I am so proud of him; I know he will continue your legacy Naru-kun.” Midnight whispered as well, purring into Naruto. Naruto looked down at them with a tender grin. He then looked back at Kenshi, nodding his head slowly.
“I know we will, I have a feeling he will do a better job than I ever could.” Naruto responded in admiration. As they looked on, a figure began to approach them. A little ways away Shino walked over to them slowly, Itachi still latched onto him. He a few feet in front of them, he gave Naruto a small nod.
“So I guess I'll be taking my orders from Kenshi now.” Shino said in a monotone. Naruto smiled brightly at him.
“Yea I guess so, I'm sad now, I probably would have stayed with the position a few more years if I had remembered I would be losing my assistant.” Naruto joked.
Shino rolled his eyes again, of course that too was blocked by his sunglasses. As Naruto laughed wildly at his own joke, Sasuke began to stare over at the form Shino was currently holding, a caring and worried look adorning his face.
“How is my brother Shino-kun, you two were so late to the ceremony?” Sasuke muttered while continuously staring at Itachi's form.
“He'll be alright; he just had one of his moments again. You know how he gets when these kind of events happen.”
Sasuke nodded while watching Itachi's still figure for a few moments longer. After a little while, he saw that the crowd around Kenshi was getting a little smaller, some foxes finishing up their congratulations and thanks. Sasuke then detached from Naruto and slowly walked over to Kenshi, Midnight did the same, following close behind. Naruto watched the two before turning around and moving closer to the mother tree. He stole a glance behind him as a party began to form in the clearing. A smirk ghosted across his lips ass he began to scale the enormous tree.
It actually took Naruto several minutes to scale the tree, moving at a casual speed. He decided to take his time, taking in the view around him. He could see for miles, without using his enhanced vision. The forest around the tree stretched for countless miles, the forest grew exponentially in a hundred years. Most human structures, roads, and such were destroyed during the war, giving plant life more room to grow, throughout the entire planet. With the help of Naruto's family, they began the slow process of re-growing the earth as best they could; demons prefer a more natural habitat than an artificial one, of course. Naruto took some time to behold the vast greenery and life gracing the earth, after some time he began to scale the tree again.
Finally, Naruto reached the top, climbing through thick leaves, pulling his self up. As he pulled himself to the top, the hole he created in the tree's top suddenly closed up, reconstructing the ground of leaves and branches. As he looked around he could see many different flowers and plants on the surface, the roots growing into the tree. He could also see various species of birds generally hanging around. The top of the tree spread wide in all directions. It was easily over a thousand meters in each direction.
As his eyes continued to scan around, his slitted blue orbs fell on a lone figure. He smiled softly while slowly making his way over to the figure. Moving closer, the figure's features were revealed. There at the edge of the tree, looking over the world was a ten foot tall, feral fox, its blood red fur fluttering lightly in the breeze, the ears on top of its head twitching every so often. Nine fuzzy red tails swung behind its figure, swaying to and fro hypnotically. Naruto walked over to the fox slowly. As he moved closer, the fox suddenly turned its head, slowly looking over to Naruto. A small smile graced its muzzle as it looked to Naruto with loving, slitted eyes. This was Kyuubi, the nine tailed fox, grand elder of the fox clan, but most importantly, Naruto's beloved mother.
Naruto stared at her form as he approached, unable to take his eyes off her beautiful frame. He finally arrived at her side, staring into her eyes wordlessly. Kyuubi eyed Naruto for a few more seconds before she began to raise one of her paws in front of her. Naruto wasted no time, moving under his mother and cuddling his back into her fur. He sat with his legs crossed as Kyuubi engulfed his body with her warm coat. She placed her large paws in front of him, pulling him closer into her fur. She then bent her head down, rubbing her muzzle into his cheek. Naruto closed his eyes, enjoying the treatment, his breath slowed down to a crawl as he relaxed under her touch. As they hugged close together, Naruto slowly opened his eyes, looking out into the world, looking down at his family.
“Mother, do you think they will be alright?” He whispered gently, that ever present hint of worry in his voice. Kyuubi frowned at the question, if possible, hugging him closer.
“They will be fine son, you shouldn't worry.”
“I can't help it, I'm always worried, worried about the future, about how things will turn out, everything.” He said while staring down at his hands, he was shaking. He wasn't cold; he was just always this way. This was the side effects of all the stress he was under, worrying about the welfare of his family almost every second of every day. As he stared down at his shaking hands, they were suddenly engulfed by two fuzzy red tails. He sighed as his hands instantly stopped shaking, again lying back against Kyuubi's furry chest.
“Don't you trust Kenshi?”
“I do but…”
“Then let him take on this responsibility. You don't need to carry this weight on your shoulders any longer Naruto.”
Naruto knew she was right; Kenshi was the best choice to replace Naruto. Even though Kenshi appeared hard, mostly because of the war, his love for his family rivaled Naruto's, and he knew Kenshi would do anything to ensure the happiness of his family. Naruto had raised him for over hundred years after all, Kenshi would be the hero of his generation, but still Naruto worried. As long as he lived, he would carry the weight that he had now put onto Kenshi, and Kenshi's successor would carry that weight as well.
Kyuubi stared down at her son in sorrow. She knew the burden he carried, for she once carried it herself. She knew the pain that Naruto had been through, the pain of losing someone to violence, the pain of trying to keep the people he cared about safe. And that's why she was the one who knew what Naruto needed. She then picked Naruto up with her tails to adjust his position; Naruto of course gave no protest. She positioned him so that his side was snuggling into her chest, giving her a better view of his beautiful face. Naruto looked up at her with bright but weary eyes.
“Mother?”
“Naruto, my son…” She trailed off while staring down at the angelic form held against her. She didn't finish her sentence as she bent down, placing a gentle kiss across his soft lips. They stayed that way for what seemed like an eternity. Slowly Kyuubi pulled away, never tearing her gaze away from him. Naruto stared up at her, his eyes full of love.
“Thank you mother,” He whispered before dozing off in her arms. Kyuubi purred lightly, placing a gently kiss across his forehead. She held Naruto's sleeping form tightly, possessively, protectively. She would always be there for her Naruto. No matter what the future brought, she would be there at his back side, ready to comfort him, ready to ease his pain, no matter what.
“Naruto…my little angel.”
Fin
And this time I'm serious, that the end. I just needed to do this for all of you who still care what happens after the foxes rule the world. For your info, the thing about impending doom and balance is not a set up for a sequel. I just wanted the characters to acknowledge the belief that everything has a balance. So if there is too much happiness something will try to ruin it eventually. Can't have a world of peace and happiness, the Cosmo's won't allow it. *giggles* Anyway there it is, closure, I hope that satisfying.
