Naruto Fan Fiction ❯ To be, or not to be... In love. ❯ Chapter nine ( Chapter 9 )
[ X - Adult: No readers under 18. Contains Graphic Adult Themes/Extreme violence. ]
I don't own Naruto or any of its' characters. The only things I own in this fic is the play they're putting up and the plot which of course is solemny my idea. ^^
Warnings!!; Yaoi (man-on-man-sex), some foul language, random clishés and also I would also like to warn you guys; I tend to make the characters slightly (very) ooc. Hehe...
I'm sorry for the long wait, but as you know I'm back in school, and we're practically buried with work. My class is doing the musical Hair, and I play several parts, plus I sing three songs solo. Gah...
Um... the two previous chapters were very long, I know. Chapter seven was actually meant to be longer, but not chapter eight. That was accidental. I'm sorry, I realize that some of you find it annoying to read my long chapters, and I'll try to make them a bit shorter from now on.
Also, I am extremely displeased with chapter eight. I've never been so unsatisfied with a chapter, at least not in this fic! I'm sorry about that. I could've made it a lot better, but I was so tired all the time and I just wanted to finish it. But I've realized now that it's probably better if I take a little longer and write good chapters instead of hurrying up and writing bad ones.
I hope you agree.
Here's a small flashback from chapter eight, so you won't be confused.
//Itachi came back, and he and Sasuke went for coffee to talk things over. Itachi had went to England with Gaara, but he had missed Sasuke every day. Gaara finally wanted to return to Japan, and even though Itachi was nervous about seeing Sasuke (he thought Sasuke was a homophobe) he followed his boyfriend back to their home. So now Itachi's like Sasuke's adult support in life, since Itachi has a male lover too, Gaara, who is also Naruto's piano teacher.
Sasuke started to notice that Naruto acted abnormally and after hearing a conversation between Naruto and Shikamaru, he comes to the conclusion that Naruto wants to have sex or else he would break up with Sasuke. Out of pure panic and fear of losing Naruto, Sasuke forces himself to seduce Naruto. But Naruto realizes that Sasuke is just as panicked as usual, and finally finds out that Sasuke thought he was sex-starved. He assures Sasuke that he'll wait for him. The conversation between him and Shikamaru had been about Naruto's brother Iruka and his relationship with the perverted teacher Kakashi. Sasuke understands, but is still willing to go through with it. He wants to get over his fear of sex. Naruto takes him, carefully and slowly. Until finally, the panic drifts away from Sasuke's heavily darkened mind and they enjoy the sensation of sex together. And now what?//
Again, sorry for the wait. I've been insanely busy.
Any way, here's chapter nine.

Naru to's p.o.v.
"...Mmh... we should stop..."
I responded only with an annoyed grunt and pushed him even firmer to the wall. Sasuke immediately gave in and once again buried his thin fingers in my hair. The pale light of the morning sun shone over us as we showed our affection for each other in the empty school corridor. The one we usually used for our morning make-out-sessions. No one ever passed there, since it was the old part of the school. Sasuke sighed into my mouth.
"Naruto, seriously... we've got math in less than five minutes."
Stupid Sasuke. Yes, he's my boyfriend, and yes, I love him, but why does he always have to be so damn rational? I don't care about math, damnit! I groaned into his neck and kissed it lightly.
"So? You're a genius... it doesn't matter if you skip class a few times," I murmured and licked his neck, and smirked as Sasuke's breathing fastened by my ministrations. Sasuke weakly tried to push me away, but it seemed he was weakened by my touches. Oh, I'm such a sadist! I leaned back and gazed at my dazed boyfriend who desperately tried to glare at me, but failed miserably.
"Am I right?" I purred, knowing exactly how much he loved it when I used that voice. Sasuke shot me an annoyed glare mixed with longing.
"Don't do this to me, Naruto." He hissed and turned his blushing face away. "Even though I know I'm brilliant, I also happen know that you're a different story."
Sasuke seemed to have calmed himself down and I cursed; once he had calmed down, it was hard to get him into the mood again. I pouted slightly as he mocked my skills in math and let him off of the wall. Sasuke coughed slightly and fixed his ruffled hair and clothes. He gave me a teasing smirk.
"If you want, I could always give you extra tutoring in math, Naruto. You seem to need it."
I growled to show exactly how irritated I was with him at the moment.
"Shut up."
Sasuke snickered and carefully snuck his hand into mine as we made our way back to the newer parts of our huge school. I allowed his soft fingers to grasp my hand even though I was still rather moody after being denied access to his lips. Our 'morning-ritual', as I called it, was basically the only time during the day that we could sneak away without being noticed. Me and Sasuke were still supposed to hate each other. Oh, how the other students were baffled at mine and Sasuke's performances in our drama class. We really acted as if we were actually in love! How fascinating!
What would they say if they knew the truth; that we actually were in love? Shock and panic would be spread throughout the entire school. I mean, about ninety three percent of the girls at school adore Sasuke, and about half of them also love me. Simply put; if anyone found out about me and Sasuke, we'd be toast.
And still, after what happened just a few days ago, it was getting really difficult to hide what I felt for Sasuke. More than often I caught myself staring at the gorgeous raven haired boy when we had class together, and when it was time for lunch I always searched for him with my eyes, desperate to share the short amount of time with him before having to go back to pretending that we hate each other. No one seemed to think it was strange that we ate lunch together, since it was already thoroughly known that me and Sasuke played a couple, and thus it would be normal for us to talk to each other once in a while. If anyone asked, all we had to do was to pretend to discuss lines and such. It was so easy to fool our classmates, it was actually quite laughable.
Ah... yes. The 'thing' that happened just a few days ago. Heh...there's only one word I can think of to describe it; Wonderful. Or maybe 'Great'... or 'Perfect', or... well, you get the point.
Sex with Sasuke. Sex... with Sasuke. I kept repeating the words in my head, as if I hadn't understood it yet. As if it was simply too good to be true.
Have you any idea how great I felt? Sex with Sasuke made sex with Sakura seem extremely lame. And no matter how much may I dislike her at the moment, Sakura is a pretty sexy girl. But Sasuke... Oh, I'll never forget it.
Okay, yes; he was a little inexperienced and it was incredibly obvious how nervous he was during the act, but it still felt great. I'm still having very damp dreams at night about it. It was so easy to replay his moans in my head, but it wasn't the smartest thing to do seeing as it always resulted in heavy arousal. We hadn't really done anything else after that, but our make-out sessions grew longer and a lot more intimate than before. I could touch him now. And he didn't get panicked. Life was great.
Or maybe not so great... Math isn't great. And still I was stuck in the terribly familiar classroom, Shikamaru on my left side, and Sasuke on the other side of the room.
I sighed heavily and decided to try to concentrate on my assignments. Sasuke had a point; My mathematical skills were nothing to brag about. In fact, I was barely passing the subject. It's simply boring. So amazingly boring. See, this is how I work; I'm smart. I'm logical and can easily think of different solutions in different situations, but only if I'm actually interested. Math is not interesting. I was never going to use it, so why the hell should I learn algebra? I mean, math is about numbers, not letters.
"Naruto?"
Shikamaru nudged my arm just as I was about to break my pencil in pure annoyance. I gave him a silent grunt to let him know I heard him.
"You want me to help you?"
I gave my best friend a fierce glare. Having a genius boyfriend and a genius best friend was getting on my nerves. It made me feel... well, stupid.
"No." I hissed out through clenched teeth. Shikamaru looked frightened, bored and amused. I will probably never figure out how he does it.
"Okay then," he said, clearly letting the amusement take over. I glared at him, making him 'tsk' at me. "Don't give me that look. I've got good news." He smiled.
"Oh?" I was interested now. Shikamaru may seem thoroughly bored and thus a boring person, but when he says he's got good news, it’s usually good.
"Hey, no talking during class!" Asuma mumbled without looking up from his newspaper. Shikamaru grinned at me and wrote what he wanted to say on a small piece of paper.
'I'm having a Halloween Party.'
-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-
A Halloween Party, huh? Sounds really nice. Shikamaru's parties are usually successful. Last time he had a party was when we graduated tenth grade. It was really awesome. Just like the rest of the students in Sakura Academy, Nara Shikamaru is a rich kid. His family has a large mansion by the beach, which means beach parties. Although, Kiba managed to pass out twice that night from drinking way too much. I've never been a drinker myself. I enjoy a little beer once in a while, but usually I stick to soda. Not because I can't take it, because I can... it's just that I don't like the feeling of not being in control of myself. But I have been drunk, mostly because of Sakura. In the beginning of our oh-so wonderful relationship I drank a lot, because I thought that would impress her, but it always ended with me making a fool out of myself, and a massive hangover.
But a Halloween Party at Shikamaru's place sounds really nice. It was probably going to be a masquerade, and that's even more fun. Let me explain; when you're a kid, Halloween is about dressing as scary as you can to get candy. When you're at my age, Halloween is about dressing as sexy as you can to get laid. At least that's how it is for the girls. But I think the guys are under that spell too, we just don't show it as much.
Last Halloween I dressed like a serial killer, with black jeans, a green tube top and a yellow bandana. Shikamaru helped me to paint blood on my cheek and I had a black belt with a large knife hanging from it. I remember exactly how proud I had felt when Sakura commented my outfit as 'hot'.
I couldn't wait to tell Sasuke! Now that I think of it, Sasuke would seem like a person who parties a lot. I mean, he's so damn popular. And still he seems so innocent at the same time...
Suddenly I couldn't imagine him on a party. I mean, if he ever went to a party, he would presumably station himself in the darkest corner he could find, looking slightly murderous.
Well, he was going to the Halloween party, even if I had to drag him there! Seriously, the guy needs to get himself a social life.
"Sa-su-ke!" I chirped and embraced my boyfriend from behind as I finally caught up with him as he made his way to the bus stop. Sasuke gave a surprised yelp and turned around in my embrace.
"Jeez, don't scare me like that! You'll be the death of me." he muttered, clearly pissed that I had made him yelp. I grinned and kissed his cheek.
"Were you in deep thought, Sasu-chan?" As usual he glared as I added the girly suffix but ignored it none the less. I was never going to stop calling him -chan any way. He nodded at my question.
"Yeah... just about something that Neji told me about."
"Oh?"
I was walking with Sasuke towards the bus stop, which meant I would probably go with him to his apartment. The situation seemed so relaxed, and it made me feel calm. Imagine just how nice it felt; me and Sasuke were already so accustomed to each other that we didn't even have to use words any more. I walked Sasuke to the bus stop; I would simply go to his place. It made me feel mature and kinda grown up. I don't know why though.
"Yes... something about a Halloween party." Sasuke sounded troubled. "He wants me to attend a huge party at Shikamaru's place. But I-"
"You're going."
Sasuke stopped and stared at me. I stopped too and gave him a stern look. He put his hands on his hips and scoffed angrily.
"Excuse me? Since when did you have the right to tell me what to do?" He glared fiercely at me, obviously upset to be ordered around. I sighed and touched his hand, trying to calm my angry boyfriend down.
"Sasuke, I think it would be good for you."
Sasuke snorted in an Oh-please!-way.
"Oh please," he said. "I don't even like Halloween, and I don't like big events like that. Are you aware that they have invited almost everyone from the school, including the freshmen?"
I shrugged.
"So? Come on, Sasuke! I've never seen you party, and still you claim to be a teenager? You need to have some fun!"
Sasuke sighed and gave me a tired look.
"Naruto, drop it. I'm not going."
"But it's going to be so much fun!" I whined and pulled his sleeve while giving him my best puppy-pout. "There will be snacks and a lot of drinks-"
"I don't drink."
"And we get to dress like monsters!" I continued, stubbornly ignoring his bored comment.
"Wow. To dress like a monster has always been the dream of my life," Sasuke replied sarcastically and I glared at my raven haired lover. He could be such a pain sometimes...
"Saaasukeee..." I whined and stomped my foot on the ground. "I wanna go, and I want you to go too!"
Sasuke sighed, clearly getting angry again.
"Naruto, don't you get it? How much did Shikamaru tell you?"
I scratched my neck with a stubborn pout on my face.
"Um... well, that... not much." I finally replied with a flat voice, obviously defeated. Sasuke smirked.
"Yeah well, let me fill you in. The reason that the party is such a popular topic these days is because the guests are to arrive as couples!"
Despite Sasuke's so-called explanation, I didn't understand and showed him that fact by cocking my head to the side while looking quizzical. Sasuke sighed, but smiled. He smacked my head a little, but not hard enough to be painful.
"You're so dumb sometimes," he snickered. "It means that the guys, that's us, have to ask a girl to go with him to the party. It's like a ball or something. You get it?"
I slowly nodded. I did understand, but I still didn't see the problem. Sasuke could obviously see that I didn't understand and he rolled his eyes.
"Listen, I think that Neji and Shikamaru are planning on coming out during the party; going together as a couple," he said, smiling slightly before looking deadly serious. "But Naruto... we can't come out yet, can we?"
My heart froze. No... we couldn't. Sasuke couldn't come out, because he was terrified of what his parents might do, and I couldn't come out because I'd hate, absolutely hate to be an outcast again. I slowly shook my head.
"You understand now, don't you? If we decide to go, we have to go with someone else. I suppose we could go by ourselves, without a date, but that would look suspicious. We're both popular guys, and it would look strange if the two of us came to the party without having dates. Remember; everyone knows we're playing a couple at the play, and teenagers are masters when it comes to creating rumors."
As usual, Sasuke made sense. I hated when he did! I groaned and kicked a small rock on the ground. Sasuke saw my disappointed look and took a small step closer to me. I sighed and leaned my head on his shoulder. His hands came up to touch my neck.
"I hate this... I want to tell people. And still I know I can't." I murmured, almost sounding angry with myself. Sasuke sighed and kissed my cheek absentmindedly while whispering 'I know, I know,' in my ear.
The bus arrived soon, and we let go of each other in case someone we knew was on the bus. Fortunately the bus was empty, and acting like two lovesick kids, me and Sasuke took a seat in the back of the bus. Sasuke leaned on me, letting his head fall on my shoulder. I tilted my head over his and laced our hands together. Once again, the same question I had asked myself so many times during the past days popped into my mind; "Why should we hide something as great as this?" I kissed Sasuke's forehead and smiled as he purred contently. The comfortable silence continued all the way to Sasuke's apartment.
When we finally got there I realized just how cold it had been outside. The days were getting darker and colder every day, and to tell the truth; I loved it. Sasuke also seemed to enjoy the autumn's arrival as he stared out his window with a small smile on his lips. The trees were getting orange, red and yellow, as the sky gleamed in a dark shade of blue.
"Sasuke?"
Sasuke looked over his shoulder and gave me a questioning look.
"Can I take a shower? I feel kinda cold." I murmured embarrassed, even though I knew I shouldn't be ashamed. Me and Sasuke had already... done stuff. All I asked for was a shower. But it still meant that I was going to be naked in Sasuke's apartment.
Sasuke just nodded and gave me a large, white towel.
"Go ahead," he said. "I'll make us some tea."
He went out to his kitchen and I stared after him for a few seconds. Then I sighed and brought the towel to my nose and inhaled. It smelled fresh. It smelled like Sasuke. His bathroom was large and almost too clean. I sighed with pleasure as the warm water hit my body, warming my frozen skin. As I stood there, simply enjoying the warm sensations, I couldn't help but to think about Sasuke. It was Sasuke's bathroom after all. He had been naked in there. Naked... Just like he had been a few days ago... moaning under me...
Ah! No, no, no! Not now! Not here... Oh no. Too late.
Yes... too late. I let my mind drift, and of course I got aroused. Damn puberty! I felt stupid. And it felt so silly, almost cliché! Here I was, in my boyfriend's shower, thinking of him for two seconds and instantly getting a hard-on! I'm such a loser. But still, I had to get rid of it somehow. And my body was already so hot. And taking a cold shower was out of the question; I didn't want to freeze my balls off.
I swallowed and slowly averted my gaze to my groin, before quickly looking away again. I blushed with embarrassment; I was fully erect by now. God, some days I swear I'm just like one big hormone!
"Naruto?"
I jumped and swallowed hard as Sasuke's voice was so close to me. Way too close. He was standing right outside the shower curtains.
"What?" I replied shakily.
"Is something the matter?" Sasuke sounded both amused and questioning. It made me wonder... maybe he knew exactly what was going on between my legs?
"I'm fine... how did you get in here?"
"Dobe, you didn't lock the door." Once again Sasuke sounded amused at my stupidity. I mentally smacked my forehead in frustration and groaned silently.
"Oh," was all I said and pretended to continue my shower session. Sasuke didn't leave, and it made me slightly panicked, seeing as my raging hard-on didn't go away, and I couldn't touch myself with Sasuke standing not even a meter away from me! What made the whole situation even worse; I heard the rustle of clothes. Sasuke was undressing. The realization made my eyes snap open, and my body froze as the water trickled down my body. The arousal burned in my body, making me ache with want. I had had my first taste of Sasuke, and now my body demanded more.
So I didn't stop him as he stepped into the shower, my back faced to him. And I didn't stop him as he embraced me from behind. And I didn't stop his slightly shaking hands from roaming over my body, slowly making their way towards my groin. And I didn't even try to stop the loud moan my throat released as his touch seemed almost too good to be true. That first, teasing touch was what made me snap. I turned around to face Sasuke and was satisfied to see his member standing proudly from his groin. Sasuke bit his lip while blushing a little, and I was worried he might get panicked and tell me not to look at him, as he had done before. But I could tell he was sick and tired of being shy. He leaned forward and pressed his body against mine with a slight frown of concentration.
I growled, an almost animalistic sound, and grabbed his hips to roughly grind them against mine. He gasped and wrapped his arms around my neck then smashed his lips against my open mouth in pure, raw lust.
"Naruto..." he whispered, his voice low and husky. I nibbled at his jaw and neck while slowly rubbing my member against his equally hard penis. I could almost sense his knees go weak. I let my fingers graze his thighs and cheeks, making him shudder in delight. Oh, how I enjoyed this! Sasuke was so aroused from my touch, and he didn't panic! If I hadn't been so amazingly horny at the time, I would've cheered with joy.
Oh, the sight of Sasuke, now fully erect at my touch, blushing madly as his hands clutched my shoulders for support. It was maddening. Without thinking I grabbed his ass and lifted him of the floor, turned around and slammed him into the wall before muffling his surprised gasp with my own mouth.
He responded immediately and brought his legs around my waist to keep himself up, even though he didn’t have to; I was pressing him quite firmly to the wall.
Moans escaped us both as we ground our hips together almost violently after several frustration-filled days without sex. Sasuke buried his fingers in my wet hair and tugged at the strands, making me hiss in lust and pain. I could feel his teeth clamp down on my lower lip and I shut my eyes in bliss. Everything seemed to go in slow motion.
Our bodies were pressed flush against each other, the hot water made the room steamy and warm.
“T-touch me…” he begged, and I almost came there and then! His voice was dark, husky and slightly whimpering, as if he needed it so bad. He had accepted his role as uke. I would’ve grinned if my face weren’t so scrunched up with pleasure at the moment.
I let my hand glide in between our wet bodies and grab a hold of Sasuke’s sticky erection, ignoring my own member. Sasuke gave a hoarse yell and buried his face into my shoulder while whispering incoherent things of pleasure and affection. As my hand slowly started to massage the muscle in my hand, Sasuke gave a loud moan and threw his head back.
"Haa... I-it feels even better than... L-last time!" Sasuke panted and opened his eyes, which were glazed with lust. I swallowed and put my forehead against his, making Sasuke meet my gaze as we moved against each other with waving, pulsating movements. Sasuke's cool hands came up to caress my face while staring at me with an almost shocked look on his face. I stared back, letting my eyes take in the beautiful sight of my boyfriend. His cheeks were pink and puffy with arousal and his eyes kept darting towards my mouth. Then he smiled.
I smiled back and leaned in to capture his lips. The kiss got wilder by each second. Our bodies kept moving, and it only got hotter. Sasuke whimpered into my mouth as he finally reached his peek. His body stiffened against mine and jerked violently as he emptied himself over our frames. I followed him mere seconds later.
The exhaustion that followed was that kind that could make me go to sleep instantly, but Sasuke kept me from that by kissing my neck as he slowly slid down from the wall. He stood up on wobbly legs and clung onto my neck for support. I let my arms embrace his wet back and hugged him close. I buried my nose against his wet neck and inhaled deeply, sighed in delight as the familiar scent of sweat and musk made me slightly dizzy. Sasuke sighed against my shoulder.
"Mmh... that was nice," he murmured contently, making me chuckle.
"Yeah, it was," I agreed. Sasuke scooted away and smirked. His normally spiky hair hung down, dripping with water, making him look a bit girly. I put my hand on his cheek and put some of his black strands behind his ear. I kissed his nose in a teasing way, making him glare a little.
"And I still want you to go to the Halloween party!" I suddenly whined, making Sasuke scowl.
"Naruto, we've talked about this already. Turn around, I'll wash your back."
I turned around and sighed in delight as Sasuke's hands, foamy from soap, massaged my back. I crossed my arms over my chest and scoffed.
"But it would be a lot of fun! Besides, you never go out. I've never once seen you at a party. You should really try to enjoy life a little more, Sasuke."
Sasuke stopped massaging my back and hit the back of my head before continuing to scrub my body with a little rougher movements.
"I do enjoy life!" He hissed. He was growing angry with me. "Stop making such weird comments. You're making it sounds as if I'm some kind of-"
"Emo-kid?" I sniggered and barely had time to avoid Sasuke's pale fist flying against my face. Sasuke glared fiercely at me and if I wasn't already so used to it, I would've cringed under the stern eyes. I laughed and pulled him close again, ignoring Sasuke's protests and sharp nails cutting into my back. "Relax, I was only kidding!" I snickered, making Sasuke practically fume.
"It wasn't funny!" He hissed and freed himself from my arms. He turned away from me, obviously not being as keen on scrubbing my back any more. Yep, he was pissed. But after a few seconds of awkward silence he spoke again. "Do I... really look that unhappy to you?" He murmured and I immediately regretted my childish jokes. I sighed and started to scrub his back with the foamy soap that smelled so good.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said those things."
"But do I?" Sasuke asked again, sounding almost nervous, as if he had suspected it himself, he just didn't want to admit it. I hugged him from behind, making his soapy back press against my chest. I kissed his neck.
"Just a little. But don't change it. I like it."
Sasuke made a semi-scoff and turned around in my grasp. He looked at me with disbelief and something resembling anger in his eyes.
"What? Naruto... you dated Haruno Sakura before me. She was your girlfriend for two years. That must've meant something, right?" Sasuke said, crossing his arms over his chest. "And unlike me, she's energetic and happy and-"
I could see where this was going. Sasuke compared himself to Sakura. I felt kinda annoyed. Hadn't I already made it perfectly clear that Sasuke was the one I wanted, not Sakura? If I thought Sakura was better, why would I break up with her to be with Sasuke?
"Sasuke..." I sighed and took his hands, forcing them to leave his pale chest. He was so lean... thin even. Beautiful. "I broke up with Sakura, remember? She was nothing but an annoyance. Yeah, she was a happy girl. But it was some kind of false, disgusting happiness. Being with you is... actually kinda relaxing. It makes me calm. Do you understand?" Sasuke refused to meet my gaze. Something was obviously on his mind. Something that bothered him. I was just about to ask him about it, but then he finally opened his mouth.
"What was sex like with Sakura?" A heavy, almost crimson blush lingered on his cheeks as he seemed to force himself to meet my gaze. I stared at him in pure shock. I blushed too.
"W-what?" I choked out. Sasuke swallowed and once again averted his gaze to his feet.
"You heard me," he murmured. "I just wanna know. It's not a big deal."
Of course it was a big deal! I almost wanted to yell at Sasuke for always pretending that things are not "a big deal." Actually, I was getting angry.
"It is a big deal, Sasuke. You want to know, because you want to know if you're better than her in bed," I noticed that my voice got louder, but I did little to prevent it. Sasuke stared at me, shock evident on his face. "Because for some reason," I continued angrily. "You seem to believe that sex is all that matters to me."
Sasuke started to shake his head but I interrupted him before he got a chance to speak.
"God damnit Sasuke!" I hissed and pulled him close. "You have got to stop doing that," I whispered and stroked his neck with soothing movements, even though I was still kinda pissed with him. "Stop comparing yourself to Sakura. I left her. You're the one I'm in love with."
Sasuke slowly hugged back. The water still poured over us, slowly turning lukewarm. How long had it been since I first got into the shower any way?
"I'm sorry," Sasuke muttered. "It's just... I'm..."
I grabbed his chin and forced him to face me. I smirked.
"Sakura was nothing special. Just like any girl. She wasn't particularly skilled in bed, and she wasn't a very good kisser. You, on the other hand, are a very good kisser. And I get hard just thinking about you."
Sasuke stared at me for several seconds, taking in the words. Then he smiled brightly. God, I've never seen him smile like that. Relief and true happiness were both present on his face.
"So I'm better than her?" He asked, sounding like an eager child. I nodded and put my nose against his.
"Way better."
Sasuke giggled, which of course was somewhat shocking considering he's an Uchiha, and gave me a content kiss on the cheek.
"Fine. I'll go to the stupid Halloween party and 'enjoy life', okay? Happy now?"
I grinned and nodded.
"It's going to be a lot of fun, I promise!"
-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-
"Oi, Shikamaru!" I called out to my best friend who was currently talking to a certain pale-eyed boy. They weren't holding hands though. They were also keeping it a secret. Although, if Sasuke's suspicions were correct, that wouldn't last for long. Shikamaru turned to me and smiled with boredom. Back to his normal self obviously. Neji smiled too. I grinned to the boys and flashed a small 'V-sign' with my left hand.
"I think I managed to talk Sasuke into coming to your Halloween Party!" I laughed, sounding somewhat like an excited schoolgirl, which annoyed me a bit so I stopped. Then I suddenly remembered something. "Why didn't you tell me that we're supposed to arrive as couples, Shika? You know I can't... Me and Sasuke..." I lowered my voice as a small group of girls walked passed us, giggling and flashing flirtatious smiles, which we ignored completely. Shikamaru and Neji exchanged a quick look which somewhat pissed me off a little. They were about to come out of the closet, and it was all so much simpler for them, because they didn't have any issues like me and Sasuke. Jealousy pulsated through my body.
"What?" I sneered, making it quite clear that they annoyed me. Shikamaru sighed.
"I'm sorry for not telling you, Naruto. I honestly forgot about that part." He was being honest. Damn. That meant I couldn't stay angry with him. "And you don't have to come as a couple-"
"Because we can't!" I exclaimed and glared at a spot at the wall. "You know how it is... we can't come out yet."
An almost awkward silence lingered in the air as none of us knew what to say next. Shikamaru stared at the floor with a slight blush over his cheeks. I sighed and leaned against the wall.
"I know you guys are planning to come out."
Neji and Shikamaru didn't say anything, which meant Sasuke was correct. They were going to come out. I closed my eyes in some kind of inexplicable irritation.
"Well, good luck with that," I said and abruptly left my two friends. Well, until I felt a hand come around my arm. Shikamaru stared at me with concerned eyes.
"Are you angry?" He asked carefully, obviously worried. I sighed and shook my head, relaxing a bit. Shikamaru let go of my arm. Neji had already gone, and I guessed that Shikamaru had told him to leave.
"No. I'm sorry... I'm happy for you. It's just..."
"You wish you could do the same?" Shikamaru finished my sentence when I couldn't find the words. I stared at my feet and nodded. Shikamaru sighed heavily and put his forehead to mine, forcing me to meet his gaze.
"Don't worry, okay? It'll take time, but you'll get there. Trust me." As usual Shikamaru managed to get my mood up and I smiled at my best friend and nodded slowly.
"I hope so," I whispered.
"I know so," he replied instantly, making it sound as if he was actually completely sure of it. It made me feel gratefully reassured.
Silence. Shikamaru gave a lazy smile and scooted away from me.
"So you guys are planning to go solo?"
I nodded and rubbed my neck while grinning.
"We don't have much of a choice," I said. "Sasuke is my boyfriend after all, so I don't feel like asking a girl out, even if I'd only be acting. It would feel strange and... wrong."
Shikamaru nodded and held an understanding look on his face.
"I know what you mean," he said and closed his eyes as if in deep thought. "But won't it look suspicious if you two show up... well, dateless? You guys are pretty popular, ya know."
I nodded and shrugged.
"I know. Sasuke said that too. If we're really unfortunate, people will start spreading rumors about us, which is something Sasuke is terrified of. That's why he didn't want to come at first, but I... talked him into it." I sniggered and remembered our little session in the shower. That wasn't exactly what had made Sasuke change his mind, but it had definitely been a part of it. Shikamaru gave a dry laugh and rolled his eyes.
"Say no more, my friend."
"It is a masquerade, right?" I asked, knowing full well that I sounded just like an excited nine-year old. Shikamaru smiled wickedly and nodded, making me almost bounce with joy.
"That's the idea... you know, with the whole couple-thingy. The partners are meant to match each other in some way."
I nodded excitedly, before remembering with a sting of disappointment that me and Sasuke had to get different costumes, since we weren't going as a couple. I tried to cover up my sadness by smiling as broadly as possible.
"So what are you and Neji going as?"
Shikamaru snickered and waved his finger.
"You'll see," he said, obviously taking pleasure in teasing me. He smirked. "Neji has class now, but I don't have English until later. Feel like going to the café with me?"
"Sure!"
As we walked through the long school corridors, I couldn't help but to fantasize about what me and Sasuke could've worn if we were going together. All sorts of more or less kinky ideas popped into my mind, for example; A dog with collar and a leash that the master could hold. Oh, that would've been hot... Or maybe something more Halloween-ish? Dracula and Dracula? Hmm...
"Hey, Naruto... Look who's here," Shikamaru whispered and gave me an almost invisible smirk as he gestured towards one of the tables. I followed his gaze and couldn't help but to smile as I saw Sasuke sitting by himself, reading a paper and drinking some coffee. I quickly managed to put a slightly bored look on my face as I made my way to my unknowing boyfriend while Shikamaru got us some coffee.
"What're you reading?" I asked as I stood mere inches behind Sasuke, who jumped and almost spilled his hot drink. He turned around and gave me a fierce glare. I snickered and took a seat next to him. There weren't many people at the café, so I could easily fondle Sasuke's feet under the table with my own. Sasuke seemed soothed by this and discretely gave me a small smile.
"I'm just reading a few notes. The song we're playing is actually not that hard, but I want to be sure I get all the tones correctly."
It took me a few seconds to realize what he was talking about; His cello. And the song we're playing; Amelie - Comptine D'un Autre Eté.
According to me, the song was incredibly difficult and I hated Kakashi more than ever for making me do it, but of course Sasuke wouldn't agree with me. It's actually kinda annoying that he's always so damn talented. I feel neglected.
Shikamaru joined us and the three of us had a relaxing time, drinking coffee and talking about Halloween. Sasuke had (of course) been right; Shikamaru had invited practically the entire school, excluding the teachers.
Sasuke still looked a bit grumpy about having to go to the party, but didn't try to get out of it. The chat continued for a couple of minutes in a relaxed manner. It was a relief to be able to talk with someone without having to act as if I hated Sasuke. Shikamaru already knew about us, so Sasuke and I could exchange small flirtatious looks without having to worry. I was just about to nudge Sasuke’s foot with my own when someone abruptly interrupted our conversation by slamming her hands onto the table.
"Hello boys!" a shrill voice yelled, making Sasuke jump and grimace as if his head hurt. I immediately shot a glare at the person that had caused Sasuke’s headache and frowned when I saw pink hair and large, green eyes, surrounded by heavily painted lashes. Sakura gave us an incredibly false smile and giggled, as if her violation of the table had been some kind of joke. Shikamaru merely looked at the annoying girl with a bored look on her face.
"So, about the Halloween party..."
I gave Shikamaru a furious look, making the genius cringe. He sent me a look saying; 'I’ll explain later.' Sakura didn't notice our silent conversation and kept on talking with that high-pitched cutesy voice that I hated so much and still do!
"Sasuke, I was just wondering if you wanted to take me to the party?" Sakura batted her lashes and smiled to Sasuke who held a slightly shocked look on his face. A hot fury slowly started to pulsate inside of me as Sakura flirted with my boyfriend! Of course she didn't know that, but it still pissed me off enough to sneer at my ex.
"He's not available!"
Three pairs of eyes turned to me, shocked and confused. I calmed down and realized what I had just said. Sakura just laughed.
"Oh please. Naruto-kun, I'm Haruno Sakura. I know everything about everyone. If Sasuke was already taken by someone, I would've known." Sakura turned her gaze to the raven haired boy who still looked a bit shocked. "Or is it true? You already have a date?"
I wanted, almost craved, to scream "Yes! He has me!! Get away from him!"
Sasuke swallowed and gave me a quick look of despair. Then he turned back to Sakura.
"No, Haruno-san. I don't."
I could literally hear my world fall to pieces. I knew Sasuke had to tell Sakura the truth. But that didn't mean it didn't hurt. I turned my face away with an angry growl and stared into my empty coffee cup.
"Something the matter, Naruto-kun?" Sakura asked, sounding way too content for my liking. That’s when I realized that she was trying to make me jealous. I had made her look like a real idiot a few weeks ago, in front of the whole class. Of course she would be angry with me.
"You can't just walk away from me, Naruto! You can't break up with me, I'm Haruno Sakura damnit!"
"Yes, I can. And I did..."
I growled. Why does every girl have to hold grudges? If they're pissed about something, they stay pissed for several weeks, making the person that caused the anger suffer as much as possible. Great. Just great. And now she was, without really knowing it, stealing my boyfriend. How ironic. She wanted to make me jealous, and she did succeed in a way, but not in the way she planned. And now she smirked. Yes... she saw exactly how pissed I was, and was without a doubt certain that I was angry with Sasuke for taking her to the party. Oh Sakura... if you only knew.
"You look sour, Naruto-kun," Sakura chirped, sounding way too happy. I wanted to hit her, but instead clenched my jaw almost painfully hard. I managed to force a smile onto my stiff lips.
"Not at all," I muttered and sent the half-dead flower on the table a fierce glare. I was cursing myself for being so bad at hiding my feelings. I knew that everyone could see I was angry. Although Sakura didn't know the cause, which was always a plus. Maybe it was a good thing? No one could possibly think that me and Sasuke were a couple, if Sasuke took Sakura to the party, right? But it still hurt, and I still felt like vomiting out of pure rage and jealousy. I was even angry with Sasuke for not making something up. Sakura giggled at my reply and deliberately put her hand on Sasuke's and batted her thick spider leg-lashes.
"Then it's a date?" Sasuke stared at Sakura, disgust written on his face, but he had already confessed that he had no date, and everyone knew exactly how cruel Sakura could be if she didn't get what she wanted. Don't forget; her dad owns the school. So Sasuke sighed heavily and turned his face away before answering.
"Whatever..."
Sakura squealed and made an attempt to hug Sasuke, but he gave her a glare, and she backed off, clearly getting the message. She giggled nervously and turned around.
"I'll call you, Sasuke-kun, to talk about the costumes!" Sakura yelled and exited the café. An extremely awkward silence hung over our heads, making it slightly heavy to breathe.
I finally opened my mouth and gave a choked, "Why the hell did you invite the she-devil?"
Shikamaru looked utterly unhappy and sighed.
"I'm sorry. I was talking to Hinata-san and Sakura overheard us. She more or less forced me invite her."
I groaned and hid my face in my palms. Frankly, I wanted so bad to be home and bury my face in a cool pillow and scream out of rage until my lungs burned. But I wasn't at home. I was at the school café. Sakura had just taken Sasuke from me. Not exactly, but that's how it felt. She was taking my Sasuke to a party. I had to be there too, watching them dance and laugh and-
"Naruto?" Sasuke stared at me with concern. I realized I had been pulling my hair a bit too hard and stiffly let go of my abused strands. They hung down in my face in a sad way and I gave Sasuke what I hoped was a smile. Sasuke didn't look convinced. He snuck his hand into mine under the table and gave it a squeeze. "You know I hate her as much as you do, right?" Sasuke murmured quietly and gave a serious look. "I'm only yours."
I smiled again, a bit more realistic this time, even though I still felt like running after the pink-haired girl and stabbin her with a huge knife. Sasuke smiled back at me, sadness in his eyes.
Shikamaru coughed, announcing he was still there, and me and Sasuke turned to him. My eyes widened and I smiled when I saw the look on Shikamaru's face. I knew that smirk... Shikamaru was up to something.
"I think I have a plan."
-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-
Finally, it was the night of Shikamaru's party. Although I had felt like vomiting when Sakura asked Sasuke to the party, I was now happy about it. Sakura had no idea what she had gotten herself into. I snickered to myself as I inspected my costume in the mirror. Iruka had helped me with it, and it turned out just the way I wanted; Scary and sexy.
I was wearing crimson, tight pants with a black belt, hanging low on my hips. A black, armless fishnet-shirt, showing a generous amount of my tanned frame. Beneath the shirt was the whole point of the costume. Iruka had helped me paint a spiral and writing different demon binding signs on my stomach. It looked like some kind of seal to capture a demon. And I was the human cage! You gotta admit it's pretty cool. For detail I got red contact lenses, making it look like I'm red-eyed, plastic-fangs (not too long, since it's so troublesome to drink anything unless I use a straw, which would look extremely uncool,) and plastic-nails that I had sharpened a little. My hair portrayed the sexy messy look and by using a great amount of hairspray, I managed to make a lot of my golden strands hang down over my eyes, giving me a mysterious look.
To put it short; I was very content with my appearance. I had a black ring in my ear and two black leather-bracelets on my wrists. It was perfect. I gave an evil laugh to see if I could make my demon-appearance seem even more realistic. I succeeded. I almost scared myself.
"Naruto! Shikamaru's here!" Iruka called from downstairs. I smiled and grabbed my coat; It was really cold outside and I was wearing nothing but fishnet on my upper body. Shikamaru had come to pick me up, since he wanted to show me his new car; A gift from his parents.
Iruka was standing by the door, and to my huge dismay, Kakashi was there too, nonchalantly leaning his head on Iruka's shoulder. I clenched my jaw and ignored the couple.
"When will you be home?" Iruka asked while trying to sound normal, but he failed. He sounded both nervous and embarrassed. I shrugged and bent down to tie my shoe.
"Dunno... Maybe I'll spend the night at Sasuke's place."
Kakashi snickered and I ignored him the best I could while quickly buttoning my coat and running outside to grin broadly at the sight of Shikamaru's car. It was a new model, but I didn't know the name. It was dark blue, almost black and had newly cleaned shine to it. I stared at the car before quickly diving into it, facing my smiling best friend. Shikamaru nodded, clearly impressed with my outfit.
He was dressed in a pair of white, tight pants, a white vest and a silver crusifix around his neck. On his wrists were broad silver bracelets. He had even put some makeup on; silver glitter and white powder on his lids. His normally tied hair was flowing over his shoulder in soft waves. As for detail he had a diadem with a small silver halo attached. He looked... angelic. I smirked. I could already guess what Neji's outfit was.
"Hey. So we're picking Neji up now and then we're off to the party?" I asked and fastened my seatbelt. Shikamaru nodded.
"Yep. And look behind you," he said, smirking. I turned my head around and looked towards the backseat. There was a plastic bag from a certain shop in town. I grinned.
"Perfect," I muttered and chuckled darkly. "Utterly perfect."
Shikamaru laughed.
"You're kinda creepy when you do that, you know."
"Do what?"
"Laugh like that. You sound as if you're actually planning to kill us all."
I gave Shikamaru an evil grin and played along.
"Oh my, you're too smart for me, human! Now I have to kill you before you tell someone about my evil plan!"
I attacked Shikamaru's stomach and he howled with laughter.
"Stop it, you idiot! I'm driving!" Shikamaru half-yelled, half-laughed. I stopped and smiled. The night was going to be perfect. Shikamaru had come up with a terrific plan, one that would teach Sakura a real lesson.
We picked Neji up and I grinned when I saw his costume. I had been right.
Neji was dressed in a pair of black leather pants, a crimson vest and a black crucifix turned up-side-down around his neck. He had black bracelets and a huge black ring on his middle finger. His long black hair was flowing free over his back. Black lines decorated his eyes, making it look as if he cried black. To put it short; he looked hot.
Shikamaru gave Neji a smile and a kiss and Neji got into the car and took a seat behind Shikamaru. He grinned as he saw the plastic bag and peeked inside. He also knew about the plan.
"This is gonna be perfect!" He exclaimed excitedly. "I can't wait to see what Sasuke brought for Sakura!"
I snickered. You see, since Sasuke has an enormous supply of clothes, he and Sakura had decided that he was going to bring her outfit. She didn't know what it was yet, she had just given Sasuke strict orders of what the costume should look like. But Sasuke had (hopefully) brought something a bit more... exposing.
"He said he had found the perfect outfit!"
Oh yes... this was gonna be good.
-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-
We arrived at Shikamaru's home, which looked a lot spookier than usual! Evil looking pumpkins decorated the front yard and as we stepped into Shikamaru's huge hallway we were immediately attacked by a cascade of rubber spiders, hanging from the roof. I laughed, absolutely delighted with the scary mood. The guests hadn't arrived yet, but Sasuke was going to be there any minute.
"Okay, so you got the video from Ino?" I asked, feeling slightly nervous. I know I should've felt bad about the whole thing. Sakura was my ex-girlfriend after all. But trust me; she deserved it in every way possible. She's been cruel to every student at Sakura Academy at least once, except for Sasuke.
"I'm here!" Sasuke was heard from the hallway and I rushed to meet my boyfriend. But as soon as I saw him I had to stop in mid-air and tear my gaze off of him. I quickly put a finger under my nose to prevent a heavy nosebleed. Dear lord, dressing sexy was a part of our cruel plan, but this was almost too much!
Sasuke was wearing nothing but a pair of extremely tight black leatherpants, hanging dangerously low on his hips. Crimson strings were peeking up from under his pants, revealing Sasuke's sexy choice of underwear. He was also wearing black leather bands around his arms. His upper body was bare, which I didn't really like, since everyone would be able to see him, and I was worried that Sasuke might panic. But he looked calm and cool, so I relaxed a little. Around his neck was a black collar with a leash hanging from it. His hair was ruffled and there was a tiny, black bow attached to his bangs. He didn't look very happy about his outfit, but since he also wanted to nail Sakura, he went through with it.
"Oh god," I murmured and pulled my blushing boyfriend close. "You should dress like this more often, Sasu-chan."
Sasuke smirked and encircled my neck with his thin, pale arms. He gave me a soft, quick kiss.
"In your dreams, sweety."
I groaned and let go of my snickering lover, before I turned my attention to the little bag he had with him. I grabbed it and looked inside, full of expectation. A large grin crept over my face as I saw its content.
"Oh, Sasuke," I almost whispered, knowing full well how evil I sounded. "This is too perfect. You really are the best."
"Have you ever doubted that fact?" Sasuke asked with a slight smirk. I noticed how his gaze ran over my body, taking my appearance in. Sasuke licked his lips.
"You wanna spend the night at my place?" He asked as innocently as possible, although he had a pink blush on his cheeks, and I laughed.
"Sure thing," I said, kissing his nose. "But let's get through with this first, okay?"
He nodded and grinned as he took his cell phone out from a tiny pocket in his too-sexy-to-be-legal-pants and dialed Sakura's number.
"Hello? Hi, it's me. Yeah, I'm at Shikamaru's place now, so you can come over and put your costume on before the other guests arrive. Okay... Yes. See you."
He hung up and grinned at me, Shikamaru and Neji. He nodded and we chuckled darkly, knowing our plan would succeed. I ran upstairs to hide in Shikamaru's room, so that Sakura wouldn't know I was there. But I could clearly hear the voices from downstairs as the pink-haired girl finally showed up.
I heard the false giggle and delighted, "Oh my, Sasuke-kun! You look so... hot!" Her voice was excited and slightly husky and I growled deeply in my throat. It annoyed me that she was taking so much pleasure from Sasuke, who was mine, and only mine! But I grinned when I heard the rustle from the plastic bag and Sakura's uncertain voice; "Um... is this really what we decided? It looks a bit... daring."
I had to bite my lips to prevent myself from laughing out loud.
"What? No way," Sasuke said, sounding certain. "It'll look really good. Trust me." Sakura giggled again.
"Fine... I'll go change. See you later."
I almost panicked when I heard steps on the stairs, but Shikamaru saved me.
"Sakura-san, the bathroom is over here if you wanna change."
"Oh, okay."
I sighed with relief and slowly moved out of Shikamaru's room. I knew exactly how long Sakura took to dress and fix her hair and make-up. She wouldn't be out of the bathroom for about thirty minutes.
"She fell for it?" I whispered and Sasuke nodded with a cruel smirk on his lips. I laughed delightedly and clapped my hands.
"Great!"
After about twenty minutes, the guests started to arrive. Hinata and Kiba arrived as Frankenstein's monster and the bride of Frankenstein. Ino and Choji arrived as the Adam's couple; Gomez and Morticia. "Morticia" (Ino) was hugging a small doll in a blue dress. On the dress was a sign that said "Hello, I'm Wednesday." It was actually quite funny.
More and more guests started to arrive, and even though all the girls had dates, most of them abandoned their boys to admire Sasuke and me. Mostly Sasuke, since he actually looked like some kind of sex-slave. I felt incredibly tempted to hit a girl who put a hand on Sasuke's bare chest, making him flinch. But I just clenched my jaw and forced myself to smile a demonically when a group of girls came up to me and started to ask questions.
"Did you sew that on your own?"
"You look so hot, Naruto-kun!"
"Who are you here with?"
I tried to answer the questions, and wasn't too surprised when at least fifteen girls offered to be my date as I confessed that I was there alone. I declined them all and turned to Sasuke, giving him a questioning look. He smirked and turned to the bathroom. I followed his gaze. And gasped.
There was Sakura, clad in nothing but a pair of tiny leather shorts and a minimal bra with black bows. Her hair was ruffled, probably to match Sasuke, and her eyes were heavily done up with make-up. Her nails were painted black. She stared at the guests with a shocked expression on her face before putting on a cocky smirk and walked towards Sasuke. She had black high-heeled boots and black net-stockings. I smiled to myself as I watched the girls around her glare fiercely at Sakura's back. And when Sakura grabbed the leash on Sasuke's collar, small hisses and winces of pure anger was heard.
'Now Sasuke!' I thought and watched in bewilderment as Sasuke smirked at me before turning to Sakura.
"You are finally here, master," he purred and bowed to Sakura who looked shocked. This was obviously not what she had planned.
"Sasuke-kun, what are you doing?" She hissed and sent nervous looks to the girls around her, which were looking like they were about to kill her. Sasuke sighed miserably and looked as if he wanted to cover himself up.
"I'm just doing what you ordered me to... you said so, right? That I am your slave. And that you could give me more pleasure than anyone."
Sakura stared at my boyfriend and blushed heavily before replying.
"That's not-"
"But you said so!" Sasuke whined. "You said 'I own you' and that I have to obey your commands, or you would kick me out of school," Sasuke added the last words with a slight smirk. Sakura looked terrified.
"Sasuke?! What are you saying?"
The girls were absolutely fuming by now, obviously extremely pissed with Sakura for stealing their beloved Sasuke away.
"Just look at her outfit! She looks as if they've already had sex!"
"She looks like a whore!"
"What a slut!"
"Did she force Sasuke-kun into this? How awful!"
“And what about these?” Sasuke said dumping out a bag of kinky sex toys on the floor. Handcuffs, a black leather whip and not to mention a huge, black dildo. “You said you bought these for me so you could use them after the party.”
Sakura’s eyes went wide and looked as if she lost her breath. Angry hisses were heard throughout the whole room as the girls saw the toys.
I grinned broadly. That's when the large TV-screen started to play a movie. It was a shaky movie, probably recorded with a cell phone. It showed a shaky, but clear image of Sakura pouting and fluffing her hair in front of a camera. Ino's voice was heard.
"So who're you taking to the party, Sakura?"
Sakura giggled and looked into the camera.
"Well, Naruto obviously still wants me, but I think I'll punish him for being such a bad boy. I'm taking Sasuke-kun instead!" She sounded incredibly content with herself and Ino giggled.
"Oh really? What makes you think he's not already taken?" Sakura snorted at the question.
"Because Sasuke-kun wants me. And I am totally the hottest girl in school! Of course he'll take me. We're the perfect match! I mean, the girls at this school are total losers. All of them."
"But what if he says no?"
Sakura hummed for a few seconds before shrugging.
"Then I'll say I'll get him kicked out of school!"
The last sentence was probably meant as a joke, but the damage was already done. The room was dead silent and slowly everyone's heads were turned towards Sakura, who looked crestfallen, tightly clutching Sasuke's leash. She started to back away, and the girls followed, with calm murderous looks in their eyes. Sakura swallowed.
"I-it was only a joke!"
The girls didn't stop. Sakura swallowed again and started to look panicked.
"I can get you expelled!"
That did it. The girls roared with anger and took off after a screaming Sakura. No doubt they would punish her severely.
Me and Sasuke looked at each other and laughed until we cried. Shikamaru and Neji joined us and soon, all the guys in the room were laughing. Kiba was laughing so hard he had to sit down, and he was already crying from the hard laughter. Hinata, who was one of the few girls that didn't hunt Sakura down, was looking slightly amused but was probably too shy to laugh. I walked up to Shikamaru who was wiping his damp eyes with a small napkin.
"How did you get Ino to do that?" I asked, rather baffled that it had actually worked. Ino was Sakura's best friend after all. Shikamaru lifted an eyebrow and smirked.
"Girls hold grudges, you know," he said and snickered. "Ino likes Chouji, and Sakura once said that Chouji looked like a fat pig, so Ino wanted revenge for saying such a horrible thing about the man she loved!" He said the last words with a dramatic, slightly sarcastic voice, since we all knew that Ino would fall in love with a guy and then she would find another one to "love" in less than three days. Her longest relationship lasted for two weeks. I laughed.
After a little while, the girls returned. They looked tired and ruffled, but content. One of them held a bunch of pink strands in her hand. I swallowed and realized that angry girls were not to be underestimated. Most of the guys were mingling and watching horror movies by the time the girls returned and the party continued, without Sakura. I didn't know what had happened to her, and frankly I didn't care.
Pretty soon, Shikamaru stood up and coughed slightly, getting everyone's attention.
"Hello, I guess you all know who I am, since this is my party," the guests laughed. "And I just wanna say that this has been a great party and thank you all for coming. Um... I was thinking, since almost all of you showed up as couples, wouldn't it be nice if the couples stood up and announced who they were and what they were dressed as?"
The guests murmured their approval and nodded. Shikamaru nervously bit his lip and shot Neji a glance. The long-haired teen looked just as nervous but nodded to his boyfriend.
The couples started to stand up and announced who they were. Hinata and Kiba, Ino and Choji. A lot more couples, vampires, werewolves. I stood up and smirked.
"I'm Uzumaki Naruto, and I'm here on my own. I'm dressed as a demon-container."
I got a lot of impressed comments and several girls calling out that they would love to be my date. I ignored them and grinned to Sasuke who stood up, blushing slightly.
"I'm Uchiha Sasuke, and I was here with Haruno Sakura, but you saved me," the guests laughed and Sasuke smiled. "I'm not sure what I am... some kind of sex slave, I suppose." More laughter. I grinned to my boyfriend who smirked back at me. That's when Shikamaru stood up. The guests stared at him and his angelic costume. I knew what they were all wondering; who was his date? They hadn't seen another angel tonight.
Then Neji stood up and walked up to Shikamaru who was staring at the floor, blushing madly. Neji grasped Shikamaru's hand. The guests stared wide-eyed at the boys. The room was dead silent.
"I'm Nara Shikamaru, and I'm here with Hyuga Neji. I'm some kind of angel-thingy..." he murmured nervously. Some of the girls gasped, but no one spoke. I was starting to get nervous for my best friend's sake. Neji cleared his throat and could see his hand squeeze Shikamaru's.
"I'm Hyuga Neji, and I'm here with Nara Shikamaru. I'm a demon."
A confused, shocked silence lingered in the air, and I sent Sasuke a slightly panicked look. Sasuke was biting his lip and I could see how concerned he was, probably for the sake of Neji. Shikamaru took a deep breath and finally met the audience's gazes.
"We're together."
Silence.... more silence. Shikamaru swallowed and took a step closer to Neji, as some action of defense.
"A-and if you can't accept that, you may leave now."
Silence. No one left. I sighed with relief and stood up. I lifted my glass towards Shikamaru and Neji.
"I think that's pretty damn cool."
My cheerful comment was probably what triggered a reaction with the guests who started to stand up, laugh with delight and smile at Shikamaru and Neji.
"Congrats!"
"I'm so happy for you!"
"I always knew Neji-kun wasn't straight!"
Shikamaru and Neji were beaming with happiness and when Neji bent down to kiss Shikamaru's cheek, a dozen girls screamed in delight and took snapshots of the kiss with their cell phones. I was so relieved I felt like crying. Since the guests were too busy congratulating Neji and Shikamaru, I walked up to Sasuke and snuck my hand into his. We walked away from the large room and into Shikamaru's kitchen.
"You wanna leave?" I asked softly and kissed his cheek. Sasuke caressed my cheek and nodded. He hugged me tight and stroked my neck.
"Some day, that'll be us, Naruto. I promise."
I nodded and kissed his neck.
"Let's go home."

-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-
That was chapter nine! ^^ Hope you enjoyed. Please review and tell me what you thought of it! :D
The next chapter will be mostly about the last days before show-time. Costumes, music and lines have to be practiced and Sasuke is feeling more and more nervous. His parents have just announced that they will come and watch the play. But they don't know Sasuke's playing a homosexual.
