Naruto Fan Fiction ❯ World Collision ❯ Arriving at the village ( Chapter 9 )

[ P - Pre-Teen ]

As evening approached, Jessica lay watching the clouds run by her on the clay bird Deidara had made about eight hours before. She was glad that for once, she didn't need to walk. If she was forced to walk the distance they had flew over, she doubted that she'd have enough energy to walk half the distance. Yawning as she sat up, she looked into the direction they were heading in.

“Hey, is that smoke I see rising into the air?” She asked as Deidara glanced back at her.

“No, that's coming from the hot springs in the village.” He replied before Sasori could make any sort of a comment.

“Is it the same village we're staying at?” Jessica said with interest in her voice as she crawled closer to the front of the bird. The blond man nodded his head and gave a sly smile from where he sat on the birds head. “I've never been to a hot spring, though I've heard that they're nice. It would be interesting to see one up close.” She commented as she looked back at Sasori's cold expression. “How much longer do you think it will be until we arrive there? It's been hours since we took off this morning.”

“Oh, I don't know,” he said after pausing for a moment. “Not that much longer. Why do you ask?”

“Oh just wondering. Am I talking too much?” She asked before she was scolded from the man behind her.

“Yes, now shut your trap.” He said rather annoyed as the girl rolled her eyes.

Silently she lay back down, this time with her head resting against the neck of the bird. “I guess I'll just have to watch the clouds run by us again… Or perhaps it's the other way around and it's us who are running by them? Whichever one it is, I'm doing it. There's nothing else to do… And it's not as if Deidara-sama and Sasori-san will hold up a conversation with a `slave'. I've noticed that Sasori-san calls Deidara-sama, Deidara-san. What's up with that? I don't get it, I mean the first part of his name is the same but then Sasori-san changed the ending? Why is that? Perhaps it means something… I wonder if I'll ever figure that out. And why does Deidara-Sama always call me Omae? I have a feeling that it has a meaning that I do not like.” She thought as she let out a deep sigh.

“Hey brat, would you quit acting tired? You've been sitting around this whole time; you shouldn't be tired. You're pathetic! This is another reason, Deidara-san, why you shouldn't have bought her.”

“Hey,” the girl said propping herself up with her hands. “Enough with that now; I'm sick of hearing you say that. I think he gets your point by now, yee'sh!”

“A slave does not speak to higher authorities as if they are their equals.” Sasori said now with a harsh tone. Deidara didn't say anything but chuckled a bit as he looked back at the two bicker.

“She's got some back bone to talk back to you, Sasori-san. Not to mention that she calls you Sasori-san rather than Sasori-sama. Stop worrying about other's slaves and worry about your own,” He replied after a moment of cold stares all around.

“Well,” his partner replied. “Perhaps she should call me Sasori-sama. It was you in the first place who told her to call me Sasori-san. Just what to expect from you, Deidara-san; you may be a part of the Akatsuki but you're still just a child compared with me. That also includes your way of thinking. You must think it's all a joke!”

The blond just sneered as he started to bring the bird's speed down. Feeling the change, Jessica turned around and found that the village had to be less than a mile away from where they were at now. Looking up at the sky, she smiled as she saw that she was right when she said that they'd get there before nightfall if they went by flight.

“We'll walk the rest of the way now.” Deidara said as they came closer and closer to the ground beneath them. “Omae, come here; I don't need you to do the same thing you did last time to get off.” As the girl hesitantly grasped the hand he had offered, he jumped off the bird as the girl let out a scream. Once they hit the ground, the girl still stood stiffly as he let go of her hand and turned in the direction of the village. “Don't be such a baby about it.” He said before walking off.

“Are you just going to leave the bird here?” Jessica asked as she looked behind at the model when they walked onto the dirt road.

“For now,” he replied. “If it gets discovered though, I might just blow it up.” The slave then stopped in her tracks as an odd expression came over her face.

“Blow it up?” she said rather blown away by the idea.

“Yes, blow it up. Hurry up now, I want to check into an inn already.”

Looking behind her to see that Sasori had caught up with them, she nodded her head as she jogged up beside him again. Suddenly she found Deidara looking down at her in a way that told her to not walk to close to him. Shrinking back, she dropped a few feet behind him before continuing to walk.

As they entered the small village, she found that it was decently populated with all sorts of people. Some looked like your every day towns people, and others carried weapons on them along with scars from battles. So this was a traveler's village? With the mixture of different people, she had no doubt that it was as Deidara had said it was. After wandering around the village for about ten minutes, they came upon a decent sized building with a tall wooden fence that started at the back of the building and circled on for a ways. Above the wooden fence, a large quantity of steam rose in the air.

“Deidara-san, you don't mean to stay here. What would the point be?” Sasori asked as the blond walked into the building.

“Oh be quite Sasori-san. I need to relax once in a while you know. It isn't as if our job is easy.” He replied as he went up to the front desk. Behind it stood a woman who had to be in her late thirties to early forties. The keen smile on her face made Jessica's face light up a bit as she looked at her. “Excuse me ma'am, I'll take one room.”

“Two,” Sasori added from behind. “If we're staying here, I don't want to deal with her.” He said making it clear to everyone that he was referring to Jessica. “I'm having my own room.”

“Fine, fine,” the blond said sighing as he looked at his partner. “I'll take two rooms then.”

“Here you go sir and thank you for staying at Forest Hot Spring's Inn!” She said as she smiled and handed two sets of keys. Taking one, he threw the other to Sasori as he headed up the stairs to the right to find his room. As Jessica followed behind him, they soon arrived at the two rooms in which they were staying in. After unlocking the door of the room they would stay in, Deidara slid open the door and walked in.

“Not half bad,” he commented. “Well girl, I guess you'll be able to have your own bed roll as well.”

Looking around the room, Jessica did find it comfortable after what she had for the past few days. It was a decent sized room, with two big windows at the far war across from where she now stood. To the right of the door they came in throughout, was what must have been the bathroom.

“Well I'm heading down to the hot springs now. Behave,” the blond man said before stalking out of the room.
