“How much farther is this place?” Jessica asked as she looked up at the man beside her. Looking down at her throughout the white streamers that hung from his triangular straw hat, he let out a small `humph' sound before replying a moment later.

“Almost, so just hold your horses would ya kid?” he answered calmly as the girl dragged her feet along the hot sand beneath their feet.

Five days after Deidara-sama gave me my new outfit, Sasori-san had returned and I was told to pack my things for the road again. This time though, since we have more things and we are apparently traveling quite a ways, I was given a backpack to carry things in. Its rather nice, not to big but not to small. Though I don't mind the musty brown color it is I'm not too crazy about the straps that tie in the front so that it wouldn't fall off of my back. If I were traveling in any other fashion, I wouldn't be seen dead wearing it like that! The fact that we're now in the middle of some `God forsaken desert', I'm sure it wouldn't stay on me if I just carried it regularly. Soon after we reached the area that was covered in sand, I was finally permitted to put on my other shoes. I guess Deidara-sama saw how it would be impossible for me to walk around in the desert with my other shoes; I'd just sink into the sand! Still, though that was helpful, my legs fell like jello now. I'm surprised that I can even keep up with the others' pace; perhaps they slowed down to? I still don't see why we can't just ride one of Deidara-sama's bird things. I think he forgot all about the one we flew into town on…

“Okay fine,” she replied as she tried pushing away the loose hair that clung to her face. Perhaps she should have completely changed into her other outfit, due to the fact that her new one was now just getting in her way. Besides that, it was getting full of dust, and the color and texture of the material only made her sweat more. All her top reminded her of now were the satin pajamas that always looked so appealing, but made you sweat a storm in the middle of the night. Then her skirt, which stuck to her legs, now felt like a static-like nylon material. The slit just made the fabric even more annoying as it would whip at her legs violently whenever the wind decided to chose them as its target. This, in her mind, made it clear that Sasori must have picked the outfit out more for it to be suitable for her to wear while traveling than to just look good. Of course, he might have just bought it to buy it with no reason to why he chose the outfit.

After about ten more minutes of walking that felt like endless torture for Jessica, she saw a large stronghold along the horizon. From the distance they were at, it was hard to make out all of the details of the towering wall of stone, but it seemed to her that it was like a bunch of stairs as it went up. The area closest to the ground seemed to be like large steps, while the higher you got looked like they got smaller and smaller until the wall ended. In the middle of it all, was a gap between the stone that must have been used as a pathway.

“What's this place called?” She asked as she tried getting a better look at the place. Glancing over at her, Sasori replied with an almost dull voice.

“This is Sunakure, the hidden sand village.” He stated as the blond looked over at him.

“So… The ones Orochimaru manipulated are ahead…yeah,” He asked in a way that was more of a statement than a question. “It seems for some reason, he leaked our information and turned into a traitor… yeah.”

Looking up at his partner, Sasori let out a ruff snicker before speaking again. “We don't have a choice, it seems. I don't know what he's like after using that jutsu either. Is it alright just with that bag?” He asked after glancing at the small light brown bag he carried in his right hand. “Our opponent uses the `power of human sacrifice'….”

As Jessica silently followed she kept her ears open to their conversation. What were they talking about? Who was this `opponent'? Were they going to fight someone? Everything was confusing to her, as usual. From this odd thing called `jutsu', to the way they went around secretly; who were these men?

“My jutsus are all artistic… So I came up with my favorite, number 18… yeah. Because our opponent is the `one tail', yeah,” he replied as he unzipped one of the large pouches he kept on his side.

As they now drew near to the wall, Jessica saw that there were about ten men positioned along the wall. She couldn't make out their faces, but they all seemed surprised and rather alarmed by their arrival. Looking back at her master with a questioning look on her face, she saw that he looked straight ahead with a smirk on his face that made her feel uncomfortable. Suddenly, she heard the men shout to one another, before all of them gathered in the pathway.

When they arrived in the entrance of the path, a shocked looked fell upon her face as she saw the worst sight she had ever seen. For the next thirty feet or so, all of the men's bodies were scattered along the path; blood stained the walls. Within seconds, a man appeared before them who looked like the other men. He wore a light brown ninja vest, black pants that had a bandage around his right leg, and many pouches. On his head he had a metal headband on with a symbol on it that reminded her of the lower case letter `I', along with something that looked like a turban. In her eyes, she detected that that must have been the man who had killed the others, for he was covered in blood and had the strangest look in his eye that made her want to panic.

“Well done… Do you remember me?” Sasori said as he walked up to the man. As the man bowed, he replied quickly.

“Yes sir! Of course Sasori-sama,” he said as the two other men looked down at him. Guessing by how he answered the man, Jessica guessed that the one before them now was one of Sasori's slaves that he hadn't seen in a long time.

“Alright,” the blond said as he looked at him. “If you'd forgotten, I might have used my jutsu, yeah.” Sasori then looked from his partner to the man who had done his bidding.

“Since your memories have returned, you are my faithful servant.” He stated as the man returned to his standing position.

“Alright then, here we go,” Deidara said as he took his hand from his pouch. As a loud chewing sound was made as one of his extra mouths formed a clay bird, he smirked when the small model popped out of it. “We will attack the village from above.”

Now standing next to Sasori, Jessica looked up at the enlarged model that her master now stood upon. Looking back at them, Deidara snickered before asking his partner a question. “How is it? This artistic model… yeah,” he said as he looked back at them with a crude smile on his face.

“I can't wait.” The man replied as he stared up at him. Deidara then quickly turned back to look ahead as the bird now flew up in the air after it blew harshly at the ones who stood below.

“What's he going to do?” Jessica asked after averting her gaze from the giant bird. That question though, would be left unanswered.
