Naruto Fan Fiction ❯ World Collision ❯ Shopping with Tobi ( Chapter 41 )

[ P - Pre-Teen ]

Ahaha… Sorry its past 12AM that I'm actually posting this, so its technically Sunday now… *yawn* But I'm finally done with it after being out (buying fabric for the Akatsuki cloak) for hours and then bringing my friend (yes, the one who gives me ideas here and there who now does have an account but is having trouble logging on.) home with me… *Sigh* she then made me write this, and ya… Here you go… Oh ya, and for those who are reading `Forbidden' as well; I finally wrote another chapter for it this morning.

By the next morning, Jessica had found that though her muscles were still sore she was well enough to walk around again. This miraculous discovery, of course, did not leave her to think twice about doing something other than talking when the other two were around, sitting, and sleeping all day. At the first opportunity she could get, she walked out onto the deck for the first bit of real fresh air she'd gotten in days. With warmer weather than usual and a soft breeze of air flowing through the area, the day was anything but not pleasant. The only annoying thing was the fact that both Deidara and Tobi were gone most of the time doing who knows what. What happened to their `deep concern for her life'? Did they believe that she'd only get better if she slept the whole time? Shaking her head as she leaned over on the wooden railing, she looked down at the forest that slopped down below her. She guessed that the place they were at was at the edge of town to be so close to it. Besides that, she knew that they had to be on the second floor out of a three-story building, since there were more decks above her, but none below. “Where could those two inconsiderate idiots be?” She wondered as she let out a soft sigh. “Well I guess I can't really say they're inconsiderate; they usually are. Now however, they're never around! Don't they think I'd get bored or lonely all alone? Of course, them being men does explain a bit; for some odd reason a lot of guys think that whenever women are sick or pregnant, they just want and need to sleep, eat, and be alone until they're better. Otherwise, it's as if the women would die or something if that wasn't done. Of course, this is just a man's dull perspective of things… I remember when I got the chicken pocks when I was twelve; Dad went nuts whenever he saw me out of my room. I'd understand that he doesn't want to have it spread, but everyone else in the house had already caught it. He'd then tell me that I needed to go back to bed, even if I just left my room to get a snack or something…”

“Jessica-chan, you're out of the room now!” A friendly voice said from above. Quickly glancing up, she found that Tobi was couching on a thick tree branch while waving at her. Waving back slightly as he jumped down onto the deck, she backed up a bit to avoid being landed on. “Does this mean you're better now?”

“Well I'm a bit better, but I don't think I'm ready to travel just yet.” She replied as she held her hands behind her back.

“Oh, Jessica-chan should go with Tobi to the village! It's nice actually, even for a small place. You need some new stuff anyhow, since those mean men stole your bag right?” He said as he stood tall and placed his hands on his hips. With a small grin on her face, she nodded her head slightly too only find herself being pulled away off the side of the deck.

“What are you doing?” She screamed as they came closer and closer to the ground beneath them. Looking up at the girl, he then smiled to himself.

“Why, we're going to the village of course!” He replied as he then held her so that she wouldn't touch the ground. After a few seconds of landing on the ground, he then looked again at the young woman whose shock was a little less tense now before jumping off past the building they were once at. Jessica then swallowed the spit that had gathered in her mouth as she closed her eyes. How could she expect less from the strange man? Mentally hitting herself for accepting the invitation so willingly, she soon found herself placed on her own two feet. “Alright Jessica-chan, where go to first? The clothing shop or one of the other stands selling stuff?”

Looking up at the masked man who placed a hand on his chin, she found that he was directing the question more at himself than at her. Confirming this when he held one of his fingers up in the air as a light bulb turned on in his head, he then grabbed her wrist and pulled her in another direction. Luckily for her, the streets weren't very crowded that day. If had been crowded, she didn't know what she would have done to try to go at Tobi's pace along with trying not to bump into anyone at the same time. Within a minute, she found herself in front of a stall that sold bags and other sort of traveling stuff as well.

“Look Jessica-chan, don't you think that looks so cute?” He said joyfully as he folded his hands beside his head. Looking at him with confusion to what he was referring to, she then tried the best she could to trace from his eye to where he was looking. She guessed that he was talking about a pink travel-sized bag with prints of white cat heads all over it. In her mind, the thing mainly reminded her of `hello kitty', as she remembered the years she used to carry a hello kitty backpack when she was little.

“I guess so,” she said unsurely as she glanced back at the man with an odd expression on her face. Then appearing by the bag, he then held a small white trinket that hung from one of the zippers.

“See, it even has a keychain! It's so cute; girls like this sort of thing. Do you want it?” he asked expectantly as he looked up at her. Jessica could then feel a heavy weight come down on her head at the thought of it. What was he thinking? How could he think she'd still be into that sort of a thing? She was almost afraid to say no, since she feared his response, but what would she do? She would die if she let Deidara see her wearing that thing! Rubbing the back of her head, she then drew her attention to another bag that was beside it.

“Oh, Tobi-san, look at this one!” She exclaimed in an excited manner as she clapped her hands together. “It's such a pretty color; I just love the look of it!” As the man then looked at the bag on the row beneath the one he was displaying, he cocked his head in confusion.

“But the bag is just solid black; isn't that boring?” He asked in a way that made out that he was confused.

“Oh, but look!” She reasoned as she unzipped the many different compartments. “There are so many storage areas in this; it could hold a lot of stuff! Besides, being that it's a solid color, it… It holds this artistic significance of beauty…”

“Artistic huh,” he mumbled as he rubbed his chin. “Deidara-Sempai may like it then… Alright,” he said as he picked it up. “I'll buy it for Jessica-chan!”

“Doesn't Deidara-sama buy all my things since I'm his slave?” She said as she cocked her head herself, now picking up his habit.

“Oh don't worry about it; Tobi is Jessica-chan's friend! Don't worry; I'll cover for you if Deidara-Sempai gets angry for some reason.” He said as he put on hand in front of his mouth as if he were trying to make it seem like a secret.

“Why would I get angry for some reason, hnm?” A familiar voice said from above. As both of them looked up from the place the crouched near the ground, Tobi quickly stood up at the sight of his partner.

“I'm just buying Jessica-chan a new bag.” He stated simply as he held it up. As the blond looked at it with a dull expression, he then glanced down at the girl who gazed up at him.

“Why are you out and about?” He asked with a slight frown.

“Oh, I was feeling a bit better so Tobi-san wanted to bring me out to the village to get stuff to replace the things the men stole from me a few days ago.” She replied quickly as she slowly stood up again, clenching her teeth a bit as short spurts of pain ran threw the muscles in her legs. As the man then looked back and forth between the two of his companions, he then snatched the bag from his partner's hands.

“I'm not going to have you say that I owe you something.” He mumbled as he paid for the thing. “Alright then, it will be easier to get you things if you're there in person, yeah.” He said as they left the stale. Walking up beside him, Tobi then whispered in the man's ear.

“It's pretty artistic isn't it Sempai?” He asked as he pointed at the bag. Glancing down at the thing he had just bought, he raised his eyebrows at his partner who continued to stare at him. Looking back down at it he then snickered as he quickened his pace.

“Where did you get that idea?” He murmured in a low voice as he grabbed his slave's hand and made his way threw the crowd to futilely try to get away from the masked man's presence.
