Naruto Fan Fiction ❯ World Collision ❯ BONUS SPECIAL: Happy Easter! ( Chapter 44 )

[ P - Pre-Teen ]

Happy Easter everyone! (Though technically today is Good Friday, I'll be gone on Easter so I've posted this early!) Sorry for the lack of updates lately; I've been busy making my Akatsuki cloak, and where the story is now gives me little room to move with the plot… Though I should have a new chapter out soon! Tomorrow is Miyuki Sohma's birthday, so happy birthday Miyuki-chan, and I hope that nasty fever goes away! I've been sick on my birthday before, and it's real annoying especially since it's always on Thanksgiving week! (I was actually born on Thanksgiving day.)

For this `special fun package', I also have a picture I drew yesterday of Tobi, Jessica, and Deidara painting eggs. If you can't work out the link, then the pictures name is “world collision: happy Easter”. You can either look that up on Deviant art, or you could just look me up there and it will be the newest picture in the gallery.

“Hello guys, its Jessica here! In today's special, I'll be showing Deidara-sama and Tobi-san what we Americans do one Easter! Since it's too complicated to try to get all the Easter supplies in their world, I asked God to let us go back to our world and while doing so, go back to April since it's already late June in the story. So, he then told Liliedove, and here we are now; in my abandoned apartment! With my parents working, no one will ever expect that I returned!”

“Can we just get on with this? Yeah,” Deidara mumbled as he crossed his arms against his chest.

“Oh cheer up Sempai, this will be fun; Tobi just knows it!”

“Alright, today's activities consist of: an Easter egg hunt, the telling of the Easter story while painting eggs, and whatever else I panned but I forgot about!”

“You already forgot about some of the things you were planning on doing?”

“Deidara-sama, it isn't as if my life is empty; I had other things I had to do! Ehem, anyhow let's begin,” Jessica replied as she took a stop watch out of her pocket. “Alright you two; I hid a bunch of eggs around the apartment. There are ten orange eggs, and ten pink eggs. Whoever collects all of their assigned color first, wins. In the process though, you cannot damage anything, you got that?”

“Oh, Tobi get's orange!” The masked man said raising his hand in the air.

“Of course you do Tobi.” Jessica replied as she smiled sweetly.

“Wait, I have to get pink? That's just not right! Pink isn't manly; why did you even use pink eggs? Where did you get pink eggs?”

“Deidara-sama, they're not real eggs; they're made from plastic. Besides that, they were the only ones I could find! My parents usually make me use the pink and make Nicky-boy use the orange. Besides, there are prizes inside of them!”

“Prizes, I want a prize,” Tobi yelled excitedly.

“Alright, on my mark; on your mark, get set, go!” She shouted as she pressed the stopwatches' start button. Wincing every few seconds as she heard different pieces of furniture being turned over, she shook her head. “Will those two ever listen?”

“Jessica-chan, I found one, but it's pink! What do I do?” Tobi yelled from another room.

“Give me that; that's my egg!” The blond yelled as a loud thud was made.

“That's not fair; I want the prize too! Oh, wait there's an orange egg! I need to get it!”

“Oh no you don't,” Deidara yelled. A few more crashes were made as the kitchen table was toppled over. After another five minutes, all of the eggs were discovered along and were gathered in the middle of the living room floor.

“Alright, you can open then now.” Jessica said as the two then picked the eggs of and one by one ripped the tops off. “No, don't just rip them off! You're breaking them! Open them like a lid!” She stated as she ripped one of them out of Tobi's hands. “See,” she said as she opened and closed it repeatedly. Picking it up again, Tobi slowly opened it and cocked his head as he stared at the small colored pebble looking things that lay inside.

“Jessica-chan, what are these?” He asked as he picked one up.

“They're jellybeans! They taste really good, or at least in my opinion. The stores only sell them around Easter time.” She replied as she took out the two pound bag of jellybeans the others had come from and started popping them in her mouth.

Picking one up with uncertainty, Deidara inspected it before placing on in his mouth without any comments. Looking upon them with curiosity, Tobi then quickly turned to hide his real face, as usual, as he ate one. “Oh, these are so good! Jessica-chan, give me the bag!” He shouted as he reached for it. Hiding it behind her back, Jessica then shook her finger as she pointed out that he still had jellybeans that were inside of the other eggs.

“Alright, now its time to paint eggs,” she stated as she stood to her feet. “I have painting materials in the kitchen, though I'll need your help to set the table back on its feet again.”

“Alright Jessica-chan, Tobi and Deidara-Sempai will help you!” He shouted as he ran into the kitchen and quickly fixed all of the things he had turned over. Walking into the kitchen, Jessica then laid out pieces of newspaper over the light brown surface of the small table that seated four. Turning, she then grabbed: five mugs, a set of paints, two cartons of twelve hard-boiled eggs, a dipper, and other numerous things used to dye eggs. Sitting, they looked curiously at the things the girl laid before them. First, Jessica dropped different colored tablets into the mugs that were filled two thirds the way full with water. Then, she took out the plastic pallet and squirted different colors that ranged from pastel to neon into the little craters in it. Placing a small, cheap looking paintbrush next to each color, she then sat across from the two with a smile on her face.

“Okay, we're going to color all of these eggs with either food dye,” she said pointing at the mugs. “Or with paint,” she said then pointing at the pallet. “Now, let me show you an example of both. I'll first show you the food dye way, which colors the whole egg with a light color since it takes a while to color well. See this dipper?” She said as she placed an egg on the curved wire as she dipped it into the blue. “You use this to put the egg in and to take it out. Be careful though; you don't want to crack any of the eggs.”

Watching her carefully, Tobi then leaned over the cups but then quickly leaned back as he waved his hand in front of his face. “Jessica-chan, that smells really bad!” He exclaimed, “I could even smell it through my mask!”

“What are you talking about teme?” Deidara said as he glared at the man.

“See Sempai, it smells really bad!” Tobi said as he pushed Deidara's head so that his nose was right above the cup.

“Tobi, I'm going to kill you!” He yelled as he tried pushing himself away from the mug.

“Okay you two, no fighting in my house; you got that? Now behave and start painting your eggs!” She demanded as she picked up another egg and started to draw in it with a white crayon.

“Jessica-chan, what are you doing now?” Tobi asked as he grabbed an egg.

“This crayon makes it so that you can paint over the whole thing without the parts you draw on it with this getting painted. Like this,” She said as she then quickly painted the half she drew on with an orange. Turning the egg so that the two could see it, Tobi then put his hands on his face.

“Look, it looks like my mask!” He stated as he pointed at it.

“Yep,” Jessica replied as she continued to paint the back of it as well.

“Omae, didn't you say you'd tell the Easter story at the same time we'd be doing the eggs?”

“Oh, that's right I almost forgot! Okay, the Easter story is about how God's Son, Jesus came back from the dead three days after he died to forgive our sins… Actually, the day he died is another Holiday called `Good Friday'. Anyhow, If he hadn't died, then we wouldn't have a way to go to Heaven since nothing sinful can enter it. With Jesus, the perfect man as a sacrifice though, those who choose to accept his forgiveness can go to Heaven because he was their replacement. After he died a terrible death of hanging on a cross, he was then buried for three days before coming back to life... And in short, that's pretty much it.”

“What does that have to do with eggs?” Deidara mumbled as he glanced from Tobi to Jessica who happily painted away.

“Nothing really, its just fun to do though it wasn't an original tradition for Easter… It's some Pagan I think actually… Since eggs and rabbits represent the fertility goddess since rabbits and chicken reproduce so fast in the spring.”

“That still doesn't make much sense…”

“Oh just be quite and paint your egg would you Deidara-sama?” She scowled as she drew a smilie on her yellow egg. “Why can't you just have fun for once? Paint just one, okay?”

“No, it's too childish,” he stated as he crossed his arms. Sighing, Jessica then shook her head as she stood to her feet.

“Fine be that way,” she said as she crossed her arms. After a moment, her face lit up again as something came to mind, “Oh ya, I remember the last thing I had for you guys to go!”

“What's that Jessica-chan?”

“You guys need to go on the Easter basket hunt!”

“You've got to be joking; another hunt? This Holiday of yours is so bizarre, yeah!” Deidara exclaimed as he stood to his feet.

“Will there be more jellybeans?” Tobi asked as he cocked his head.

“That and more,” Jessica stated as a large smile spread across her face. “Each basket has one or your names on it. Fine your basket, and bring it to the living room like you did with the eggs. This time you're not timed; please don't turn anymore furniture over this time.” Walking into the living room and sitting on one of the couches she then frowned as she found Deidara already sitting with both baskets beside him. “How on earth did you get done so fast, and why do you have Tobi's too?”

“I saw them earlier.” He stated as he took a piece of chocolate from Tobi's basket. “I took Tobi's since it would be more fun to watch him if he aimlessly walked around your house for a while.”

“Okay then…”

“Sempai, where's my basket?” He yelled from another room.

“Look around,” Deidara shouted back.

“I am, but I can't find it!” He said as he popped his head into the living room. “Oh, there it is! Silly Sempai, it was hiding right next to you and you didn't see it!” Plopping down next to his partner, Tobi then took his basket and looked through everything that was put in it. “Look, it's a cute little bunny!” He exclaimed as he held up a pack of blue rabbit-shaped peeps in the air. “What did you get in your basket Sempai?” Grunting, Deidara then pulled out his own pack of peeps, which were yellow and in the traditional bird shape.

“I'll be back in a minute,” he said standing to his feet before walking into the kitchen.

“What's his problem?” Tobi said as he cocked his head. “Oh, jellybeans,” he exclaimed joyfully as he dug his hands threw the fake pink grass and pulled out all of the small pieces of candy. After another five minutes, Jessica stood up and walked over to the kitchen to get herself a glass of water after Tobi had shoved about of pound of different chocolates down her throat. Mindlessly grabbing a glass cup and filling it up at the sink, she turned to find Deidara sitting perfectly still as he held a paintbrush in one had and a glad-painted egg in another.

“I knew it,” she said in a low voice as a smirk came across her face. Shaking her head as she smiled as she then walked back to the living room. “Well, now that we've done all of our activities, I guess it's time to say goodbye again. Have a happy Easter everyone and we should be back to our regular schedule soon!”
