What's up? This is my first fanfic so I want reviews! Flames will be accepted, but will probably be ignored. The two girls are my Ocs. Enjoy and please R&R!

 

Chapter 1: A blessing and a curse

 

“Rin, Rin, you've done well! You have twins!” exclaimed the nurse as she wiped the sweat from Rin's forehead and handed her two bundles.

 

Rin glanced at her two children as she felt herself fading; she knew she would not live. She had lost far too much blood and she had already lost too much blood from the mission from the waves. Staring at the older twin, she saw her first love, Obito. The one who had died to save her and Kakashi. In the younger twin, she saw her second love, Kakashi.

 

Silently, Rin motioned to a nurse and murmured, “ I am going to die. Please name the older one Hikaru and the younger Kaoru. Tell Kakashi that I love him and I'll be watching him with Obito.” And with that, Rin glanced at her children for the last time and closed her eyes.

“Kakashi, you must understand!” exclaimed Kazama Arashi, Fourth Hokage to his only student.

 

18-year-old Kakashi was silent as he stared at the two bundles in his arms. He was all alone now, Rin had just died a few hours ago, giving birth to both his and Obito's children. How they were born at the same time was unknown, but Kakashi was nonetheless happy and sad at the same time.

 

Happy that he was not all alone, he had two kids to look after now. The older, by ten minutes, was Obito's daughter, Uchiha Hikaru. The spitting image of her father, she had the Uchiha pale skin, blue-black hair, and black eyes. The younger was his own daughter, Hatake Kaoru. She had his silver hair and golden eyes.

 

Sad that now his teammates were all dead and now that the Kyuubi was attacking, his sensei was about to sacrifice his life to seal the demon inside his own son. But inside of him was unstoppable rage; his sensei was trying to use his and Obito's children as vessels for the twin Shinigami, Sven and Saikado, which were to seal Kyuubi away.

 

“Kakashi, I really don't want to do this, but if the Shinigami are not sealed, they will probably kill all the people of Konoha. Their bloodlust is unquenchable!” yelled Arashi as he tried to convince Kakashi. Time was running out!

 

“Why my children? I've lost Rin, Obito, my father, and I'm going to lose you! Why does everyone want to take everything I hold precious away?” yelled Kakashi furiously as she held his children close. Kaoru, sensing her father's pain, started to cry, Hikaru stayed silent.

 

“Kakashi, they will not be gone! This is for the sake of your home, your village! What would Rin and Obito say?” replied Arashi, who felt a bit guilty at using Kakashi's friends against him, but time was running out. Kakashi closed his eyes and imagined his best friend and his love and what they would have said.

 

Arashi held his breath until Kakashi finally sighed heavily and handed his two children to Arashi. As his sensei dashed away to the battle ground, Kakashi thought, “Obito, Rin, did I do the right thing?”

 

Arashi was breathing labored breaths as the Kyuubi was finally sealed inside his son. Silently, he apologized to his son as he gazed at the crying infant with a spiral seal on his stomach.

 

“Kazama Arashi, you must put up with your bargain!” muttered a silky voice that belonged to the Shinigami Sven. Saikado nodded in agreement. Both Shinigami wore black and had large black angel wings and strange black and red tattoos over their arms and legs.

 

Slowly, Arashi felt the world around him grow faint as his soul began to disappear from his body. Arashi shook his head to get some control and did handsigns.

 

“Fool, do you really expect to defeat Shinigami with your pathetic mortal attacks?” asked Saikado in a ruff voice that was heavy with sarcasm.

 

Arashi smiled his trademark grin and answered, “Who says that it's a attack?” Sven and Saikado then realized that their own souls were being drawn to two infants.

 

Sven growled and then laughed as he murmured, “You're pretty good for a human, sealing us inside humans so that we could not destroy your precious village.” “Hmph, at least that my vessel is an Uchiha!” taunted Saikado. Sven frowned at this and answered, “Then a gift is in order.”

 

Sven then did handsigns and touched little Kaoru's eyes. Instantly, the infant's eyes grew to a pale golden white and the pupils disappeared. Arashi watched in amazement as Sven drew away and said, “Well, my vessel now has Byakugan! That's pretty good.”

 

Saikado frowned and then got fully sealed inside Hikaru. Sven smirked and got sealed inside Kaoru. Both infants then received a seal that was a cross and wings on the shoulder blades; Hikaru's was silver while Kaoru's was black.

 

Both infants stayed asleep, blissfully unaware that both a blessing and a cure had been placed on them. Arashi smiled sadly and whispered to all three children he had ruined,

 

“Grow strong, live strong, and perhaps try to forgive me for what I've done.” And with that, Konohagakure lost their Yondaime, Kazama Arashi

 

 

“Kill them.” Replied Uchiha Fugoku simply as he stared with undisguised hatred at the twin vessels. Kazama Naruto had already been taken to an orphanage with the surname Uzumaki, but Kaoru and Hikaru's fate was yet to be decided.

 

Kakashi growled and exclaimed, “Touch them and you die!” Sarotobi, the Third Hokage, motioned for silence and said, “Fugoku, you know very well that both Uchiha Hikaru and Hatake Kaoru have a guardian so they cannot be touched.

 

“They are monsters, they deserve to die a painful death!” screamed a villager while others murmured in agreement. Sarotobi, who was out of patience, and then yelled, “Silence, these children save your lives from a death most painful, and as long as I'm Hokage, they will not be harmed!” Kakashi gave Sarotobi a grateful glance and then spoke,

 

“Hokage-sama, I'm afraid that I'll need them to be put in a orphanage for a while, their mother is dead and it seems that no woman in Konoha is willing to….”

“I'll do it,” said a light female voice. The crowd parted to reveal the pale wife of Hiashi, Hasume Hyuga. Kakashi stared in amazement as Hasume gently picked Kaoru up and stroked her cheek. Kaoru giggled.

 

“Hiashi, do you give your consent?” asked Sarotobi. Hiashi hesitated, but after glancing at Kaoru's innocent eyes, he nodded. “I'm afraid that I cannot take Hikaru, I'm pregnant and I cannot take care of two children,” murmured Hasume in an apologetic voice.

 

“I'll take care of Hikaru.” Said another voice, this time it was Uchiha Mikoto, Fugoku's wife. “Mikoto! I will not accept that demon into my household!” thundered Fugoku as he glared at his wife.

 

Mikoto remained calm and carefully ignored her husband, everyone knew that their marriage had been arranged and it was common knowledge that Mikoto disliked her husband immensely.

 

“Hokage-sama, I have a request to live in a separate home with Hikaru until she in old enough to live in the Uchiha household.” asked Mikoto politely. Sarotobi nodded his consent, he knew that Mikoto needed a break from her husband and she couldn't risk Hikaru being injured with Fugoku around.

 

Fugoku fumed while Kakshi thanked both Hasume and Mikoto many times. Sarotobi glanced at the fuming Fugoku and the enraged Uchiha and villagers and thought of the trouble ahead. “Oh Arashi,” thought Sarotobi, “I fear for the dark path ahead for these girls. They will not live as a child should. I pray that they will grow to be strong, despite these ungrateful villagers.”
