Chapter 8

The Revolution to the Origin

Demons and monsters were everywhere now, relentlessly hunting and tracking human prey in any way they could. Some resorted to just traversing the mass hallways, occasionally finding a human, and either killing them instantly, or slowly tear them apart. Ritsuko Akagi wasent having the best of days, and her being weaponless at the time didnt exactly aid her. She ducked and dodged around the demonic creatures that tirelessly assailed her, until she finally made it back to her office. As soon as the automatic door slid close, she punched in a code, and locked it. Only to turn around, and scream.

Misato had let a bullet fly in her direction, imbedding itself into a wall. "GET OUT OF HERE YOU GROTESQUE FREAK!" Ritsuko shouted back "MISATO! IT'S ME!" Misato opened her eyes, and confirmed it was actually Ritsuko Akagi. "Oh thank god!! Ritsuko!" She hugged her friend tightly "Ritsu, whats going on? What's happening?" Ritsuko returned the hug, trying to calm her down "I dont know Misato...I dont know, but I'm scared to- hey.. wait. Where's the Aida boy!?"

====Flashback====

"COME ON AIDA!!!" Misato screamed, as they bolted down the darkened hallways. Kensuke noticed that the walls were beginning to change slightly. It looked like they were growing veins...and they were pulsing. They ran down the hallway, for behind them, was a demon with a blade for one forearm, and on the other, was a shield looking device. It's speed was slow, but occasionally, it was leap a great distance when it lagged behind, swinging wildly at whatever got in it's way, including other monsters.

Whenever Misato turned around and fired at it, it's shield hand literally absorbed the bullets. With each shot, it's hand would turn a brighter color of red. "Aida! C'mon!" Kensuke was never an athlete, so as they ran, his breath became ragged, and his pace was beginning to slow. Misato kept running, leaving him behind. "Wait! Misato!! WAIT!" Kensuke looked back, and saw the demon crouching to jump again.

====End Flashback====

Misato lowered her head "He couldnt keep up.." Ritsuko lowered her head "Well...maybe it was better this way..the Commander was going to sentence him to death. But we have to keep living, so there is no point in mouring his death now. It would just get us killed." Misto sniffled slightly, "You do have a point...even though it's cold...and calculated, it is a point.

How do we get out of here?" "Misato went to her computer, and turned it on" There should be a ladder leading to central Dogma a few blocks from here. Let me check." She looked back at her computer, and it displayed the words "WeEp. ThE EnD Is NiGH." 'The same thing on Maya's computer.' "Ritsu? What the hell is that" "I dont know Misato, but it's not good. Not good at all."

Kensuke was dumbfounded. Not because he was still alive, but the fact that it was Rei who had saved him, by slamming her scythe blade into the creature, and slamming it through a wall. Her demeanor had changed. From soft and quite, to, somewhat hard, but very powerful.

The armor she wore gave off a glorious white glow, and her blade had a pinkish glow to it. "Are you alright Aida-kun?" He managed to nod dumbly "A...Ayanami?!" She nodded, looking back at the creatrue that had gotten off. It slashed blindly through the rocks and metal, attempting to get back at her. "It is not safe here Aida-kun. You need to get out of here." She looked up just in time to block the creatures next series of swings.

It seemed hellbent on at least cutting her. "Run down this hallway, then take a left." She blocked another combination "Then run all the way down until you reach two black double doors." She swung, making the creautre jump back, then jump forward, pressing it's blade against the staff of her scythe. Her voice was strained as she held the blade back

"The armory is there. You'll find enough to take care of yourself. Now," She shoved the creature back, and swung, slicing it's side "Go!" Aida needed no more than that to get on his feet, and run down the hallway. "W-was that Ayanami?! What the hell!? What the hell is going on!?!??!"

Maya blindly ran from hallway to hallway. Everywhere she looked, there was a horrific image. Beasts feasting upon human flesh. Human bodies turning a sickly black color, arms falling off to be replaced by blades. Horrible faces looking into her very soul. "Why did they have to die? Why...all my friends are gone now.."

====Flashback====

Aoba ran to one of the Fallen JSSDF soldier's bodies, and grabbed a grenade, as the monsters began to flood the room. Surviving soldiers and personell were overrun quickly. He could hear the tearing of flesh and bone as they greedily tore them apart. He pulled the pin, and slung the grenade right into their masses, then looked to Hyuuga and Maya "When the door clears, both of you run!"

Hyuuga frowned, and looked back at him "What about you!?"

"I'll be a distraction! Dont worry. I was a track star back in my younger days. I'll be able to handle this no sweat." Maya nearly dropped her gun "You idiot! This isint the time for brave heroics! We need to find Sempai and the others! Your coming too!" The grenade went off, sending black flesh and purple blood everywhere, but also, one of them went completely unharmed.

It manuvered itself in the air, right toward Aoba. 'Looks like this is the end for me..' "BOTH OF YOU! GO NOW!" He sprinted left, but the creature's arm was faster, catching the back of his heel. Maya attempted to scream, but the words wouldnt come out.

She attempted to run, but her legs had suddenly turned into 50 pound weights that she couldnt budge. Hyuuga acted however, snatching her by the wrist, forcing her to get up and move, as he headed through the door. As they ran down the hallway, they could hear Aoba's agonized screams. "Hyuuga! We have to go back!" "Baka! Do you want to die!? If we go back, we'll be mauled by those things. C'mon! We have to get to the Armory! I'm running out of bullets."

As they ran through the darkening maze that was NERV HQ, they came to a large open room. In the center stood a man, whos skin was entirely black. His body no longer looked human, but more of a centaur. His skin had a metallic look to it, and his left arm looked as if it were a giant outline of a sword. At the tip, was a line that looked as if it would open up. It turned, and saw the two standing there, and without warning, it charged. Hyuuga shoved Maya out of the way, right before the creature used it's left arm to slam into him, and hold him pinned against the wall by the neck. His voice strained hard as he spoke to Maya

"Y-YOU HAVE TO GET OUT OF HERE!" Maya almost broke into tears, as she stood, and fired 7 shots into the creatures back. It did nothing, except raise it's sword-like arm. The blade outline slowly opened up, and energy began to gather along the sides. It doubled as a particle cannon. "MAYA! GET OUT O-" His sentence was cut off as a photon ball slammed into his head, and eviscerated it. Maya's eyes widened, and she nearly fell. All of her friends are gone..the only thing she could do now, was live in their names.

She came to that conclusion, and began to run as fast as she could. The monster paid her no mind as she ran away. Instead, it walked to the center of the room, where the black patched man now stood. "You did very well today Mr. Ryoji." The creature nodded, and suddenly turned, looking upwards. The black patched man looked up as well "The Child of Light, and the Daughter of Lilith." He grinned. "No doubt she is going to her mother. Ryoji, stay here, and keep the Child of Light busy if she manages to live that long. " Kaji once again nodded, and stood fast, facing the door, charging up his right arm.

====End Flashback====

Maya turned another corner, reaching the black double doors. But they were already open. "No...dont tell me they got inside..." She peered inside, and to her surprise, and relief, saw Kensuke Aida, suiting up. "Aida-san?" Kensuke looked up,a nd drew his gun all in one motion, only to see that it was a human that had come. "Oh thank god! I dont know who you are, but I'm glad to see you!" "How long gave you been here?" Aida handed her a kevlar vest, "Not long. There's enough weaponry here to keep a small army going for a few weeks. It should be more than enough."

Maya looked at him "What are you planning?" Kensuke cocked his newly loaded sawed off shotgun, and looked at her. "Getting the hell out of here. You coming?" Maya sighed and looked dow, then placed the jacket on. She turned to her left, and saw a mini-gun that didnt seem too heavy and lots of ammo belts next to it. "Yes. I'll go." Kensuke smiled "Good. Now, theres one thing I want to tell you. As I ran here, I noticed that people with even the smallest of wounds change into those...things."

Maya nodded, and wondered if the same fate hate befallen her friends. "So, in light of that information, dont let any of them touch you." She nodded. 'He seems to know what he's doing.' Kensuke sat down, and held his stomach "But before we go, we need to eat something, otherwise our reactions will be slower." She sighed "But the kitchen is three floors up.." Kensuke stood, and gave her a look of determination "Then lets go." She looked at him in despair for a monent, but stood nonetheless "Hai.."

Asuka continued using her locker as a makeshift sledgehammer, reducing most of the fiends in her path into a brackish paste. "Where's a damned weapon when you need one? This thing is too damned heavy!" She exclaimed, as she intorduced it's heavyness to another monster's skull, efficiently cracking it as if it were a walnut.

'We're close,' Adam spoke softly 'I can feel his presence.' "Asuka grinned slightly "Good. I really wanna take a bath when this is over with. The quicker the better." Adam wished he had a body, so he could fall over. 'Miss Sohryu, I sense life two floors below us. You might want to go see if any survivors are there.' "Your right! I hope Kaji is ok." She slammed another creature into paste, and continued to make her way towards the Eva cages, hoping her enemy would be waiting for her.

Dark Falz was pleased. He stood before the giant Evangelion sized elevator that lead to the lair of Lilith. Olga suddenly appeared behind him, the grin on his face never fading, "The Child of Light approaches, and the Daughter of Lilith is close.

She shall be here soon." Falz smiled "It is of no matter. The Sohryu child wont be able to contend with either of us, and as for the daughter, I leave her fate to you." With that, he leaped from the side, and began to plummet head first downwards. "Thank you Master." Olga turned, the black patches on his skin growing, and covering him whole, taking on a more metallic look, as he began to change into the centaur being that Kaji had been turned into, only he was bigger, more horrific, and instead of a sword outline, his arm had changed into a giant broadsword, and his left hand into a giant shield looking device. He turned and faced the door, any and all humanity from him gone.

Rei continued to battle the weird demon with a bladed arm, while forcing her way towards the shaft. The creature was tireless, slashing wildly, as if it were in a never ending rage. 'What the hell are you...' She thought as she brought her scythe down, only to have it blocked by the shield that seemed to have a mind of it's own.

Every time the thing blocked, the hand would glow a brighter color. Then out of nowhere, the creature slung it's hand at her full force. She brought up her AT Field, but as the two contacted, there was an explosion, knocking them both back.

Rei landed on her backside, whilst the creature flipped in the air, landed on it's feat, then jumped forward. Rei rolled to the side, brandishing her scythe, and as the creature attempted to turn and slash her, she slammed the blade right into it's stomach. The demon gave a slight grunt as Rei lifted it off the ground, and then slung it into a wall.

It's arms dropped to it's side, and it lay still. She jerked the blade from it, and it hit the ground, and then began to dissolve, leaving only a puddle of purple blood. 'Damnable creature. Though may you rest in peace, Commander Ikari.' Rei turned and continued walking, finally making her way to the elevator shaft. She saw no one there, but could feel something in the back of her head watching her. "Mother, he's on his way." Lilithi's voice sounded panicked 'Hurry my child!' and with no hesitation, Rei jumped, and began to plummet down. One minute later, Olga released his hold from the ceiling high above, and fell after her.

Falz grinned, as he felt two presences behind him. He paid them no mind, and increased his speed, disappearing from human sight, and becoming a blur. He saw the ground begin to rush up to meet him, and suddenly made a 90 degree letting his feet graze the ground. He immidiately slowed down, floating down the hallway towards "Heaven's Gate." "Kind of like Tabris when he infiltrated this complex." he grinned, as he stopped suddenly to peruse Shinji's memories. He found most of them not to pleasent, and some graphic and sexual about a certain red-head. "So..he is in love? With her?" He grinned "Most interesting. But it will be dealt with later." He looked towards the door, and snapped his fingers.

There was a huge explosion that annihilated the doors, sending them flying back, revealing a group of surviving JDSSF soldiers. "IT'S THE THIRD CHILDREN! FIRE!" They unholstered whatever weapons they had, ranging from 9mms, to M-16, and began firing. But they all made contact with a black AT field, boucing off, and flying in all sorts of directions. "It's no good!" "What the fuck is that!?" "HOLY HELL!" They panicked, and attempted to run, and Falz once again snapped his fingers. Tiny daggers of light began to pierce one of them relentlessly, until suddenly, the assault stopped. Then they all detonated, sending body parts and organs everywhere.

"Tim!" The other soldier looked at his fallen brother, then in a rage, charged Falz. He pointed his index finger at the man, and a black see-through ball came forth, and slammed into the charging soldier. He fell over dead instantly. The remaining attempted to flee, only to be caught by more demons, as they began to converge and congregate to this area.

"So Lilith. We finally meet." The giant held captive by the nails in her hands had no strength to move, but she did speak. "You bastard! Why?! Why do you do this!?" Falz smiled, "Simply because I can." He floated up, and began to concentrate, a pentagram forming around him. Aincient writings formed upon it, and the light within the room began to fade.

All remaining life on earth heard Lilith's shriek of terror.

Rei never saw it coming. Olga's blade slammed hard into her back, almost sending her into a wall. She used her AT field to stop herself. At this speed, she'd be seriously injured. She turned, and saw Olga. He was larger than any of the other monsters she had seen. She couldnt even measure up to him. "What in the name of God Almighty.."

Olga said nothing, and commenced his attack. Rei had one advantage. Being small. She used her AT Field to propel herself in mid-air, easily doding all of Olga's attacks. She got in close, and slashed hard at his chest, but with every hit she landed, the wound would regenerate automatically. She backed away and then launched herself toward his head, scoring three hits in his eyes. They healed automatically, but she could tell it was hurting him over all. 'I have about twenty minutes before we hit the ground. I must make this quick.'

She then noticed the shield like hand pointing at her. Two prongs opened up on the side, and began taking in energy. "Oh hell." Rei put up her field just in time to block a large green photonic beam. It pushed her back slightly, but as the beam ended, she countered by slamming her AT Field into him, pushing him against the wall, and grinding him against it.

Rei smirked ever so slightly, readied her scythe, and dashed forward, dropping the AT field, and began to swing wildly, scoring multiple hits. Every wound she made instantly healed, but his reactions were becoming slower and slower. Rei smiled inwardly 'Good, he's wearing down. It's time to finish this.'

She concentrated hard, and suddenly slammed her scythe into Olga's head. She then used her AT Field to send them plummeting down faster. Before Olga could react, she slammed him face first into the ground, the impact of the landing not bothering her in the least. Olga lay still, no sign of life detectable, even by Rei. She sighed, and wiped some sweat from her brow. Then turned, and began to run towards "Heaven's Gate" praying she wasent to late.

Falz continued to focus. The pentagram surrounding him began to spin, and the monsters began to roar as if they were cheering. "DIE MONSTROUS DOG!" Falz turned, and held up his arm to block Rei's scythe. It sounded like metal on metal. Falz immideately grasped the situation, speaking in Shinji's voice "Ayanami-san?"

Rei's grip and force never faltered, but her face softened some "I...Ikari-kun?" "Ayanami! PLEASE! HELP ME! END THIS NIGHTMARE ALREADY!" Falz felt her force lighten a little, and slammed his black AT Field into hers, knocking her back towards the door. "What in the name of God?" Falz snickered then frowned.

He looked up, and growled slightly. "Why must SOMETHING always ruin my fun. Nevertheless," He looked to his minions. "KILL HER." And then vanished. The demons began to literally pour out of every crevice possible. Rei readied her scythe, and narrowed her eyes. "At least it's something to do until Adam arrives."

Back on the surface, Falz materalized, watching the N2 Mine fall his way. "Something ALWAYS comes to ruin my fun..." He held up his hand, the the bomb stopped in mid flight. He then looked to his left, seeing where the tanks had been positioned, and pointed in that direction. The N2 mine followed, making contact with one of said tanks, giving all those in the vicinity a quick and painless death, but those around it, a horrible, flaying of skin before they were lucky enough to die.

The UN Administrator was not happy. "WHAT THE HELL DO YOU MEAN OUR ATTACK WAS DEFLECTED!! I DONT CARE WHAT YOU DO!! I WANT THAT FACILITY NOW!!!" and slammed the phone back into the reciever. "Damned NERV bastards...they wont win.." His desk's intercom suddenly came on "You are starting to become like Ikari. Failure is not an option in this scenario." spoke the voice of Lorenze Kheel. "I know...dont worry..we'll get them." "See that you do." The intercom abruptly cut off.

Falz smiled as he floated in the air, waiting as the MP Eva's made their decent, landing in a circle around him. They all stared at him sneering, growling. They seemed to have a seething hatred for what floated before them. One of them decided to get the the initiative, and swung it's blade in an overhead chop.

Asuka rounded a corner, and wound up within Central Dogma, with looked a little worse for the wear. There were flayed bodies, and a giant scorch mark on the ground. Strangely, the sight which would have sickened Asuka normally, barely bothered her. "Where the hell is Kaji!?" Adam began to wonder if he had made the right choice in selecting her. 'There are MORE important things than just him Miss Sohryu.' "Hey! What the hell is on the big screen?" Adam sighed and "looked" as well, taking in a small gasp along with Asuka, as they watched Falz catch the overhead swing with one hand, and hold the Eva back.

Falz frowned "Thats it!? YOUR TOO DAMNED WEAK!" And pushed forward, throwing the Eva off it's feet. Another one attempted to slash him, but Falz turned, knocking the blade swing back with the back of his hand. "Is this all this world has to offer me!? Come! Show me a real challenge!" One of the Eva's jumped back, and hurled it's blade forward. Falz put up his AT Field, and held the blade back, even as it changed into the Lance of Longinus. "Whats this?!" A memory of Rei hurling the Lance toward the Angel of Light flashed before his eyes. Another memory, the lance embedded within the moon. Falz used his AT Field to turn the lance around, and hurl it back at the MP Eva, catching it right in the throat. Falz then looked directly toward the moon.

'NO! He musnt be allowed to have that!' Asuka turned, and continued running to the Eva cages "If I can manage to get to my Eva..." She halted on that, "No..it wont work if I try it.." 'Yes it will Sohryu! You have to at least try!' "What do you think I've been trying to do!?" It just wont work!!"

'Asuka, if he claims the Lance of Longinus, you'll be one step closer to losing everything you've cared for.' "Which isint much! All I care about is Eva and Kaji...and if I cant have one..then I'll have the other.." 'Damnit Sohryu, this isint the time.'

The lance started to shake, and dislodge itself slowly from the moon.

"I dont care anymore...let the world die."

The lance broke free from the moon, and began to hurtle towards earth.

'Sohryu!'

The lance sped through earths atmosphere, heading towards Japan.

'SOHRYU!'

Dark Falz smiled.

The lance suddenly stopped above his head, and slowly became smaller and smaller, until it was the size of his body. As he grasped it, the sky became covered with black clouds, and rain began to fall softly, as if the Earth itself had begun to weep.

He looked at his newly aquired weapon, and smiled. He held it high above his head, as a King would his scepter, and the MP Eva's did something that no one would ever have expected. They kneeled before him. "Yes. YES! KNEEL BEFORE YOUR NEW GOD!" And with that, their bodies split apart, sending flesh, and blood everywhere. The lake in front of the Pyramid turned a sickly red, as blood filled it.

Rei was breathing heavily as she slashed through another horde of demons. Then she felt a terrible Aura, and looked up. "This is going to complicate things.."

Asuka stared in awe as blade of pure light floated in the air before her. "Adam?" There was no response. "Adam!?" Nothing. "W...what am I supposed to do?" As she reached for the blade, a bright light filled her mind, and she screamed.

Dark Falz looked downward "Now Adam, let the Revolution to the Origin begin!" He yelled, as the gates of NERV re-opened, and demons began to pour into the city.

Touji looked out of the Hokari residence, toward the street. "Hikari?" "Yes?" "What're those?"

(HOLY PLOT RIDES BATMAN! Twists, turns, and all sorts of things. What the hell is that blade? Where's Adam? What the hell is going on!? Will the earth be doomed, or will Asuka finally stand up for it?! Find out next time. ^_^)
