Alrighty then, Chapter 9 is finally here. Sorry it took so long. Trying to get things on track IRL. In this episode...all things, life, death, even reality. All things, must come to an end at one point. And I have one thing to say "Let The Crossovers Begin!" Not really...lol

Chapter 9.

Confrontation and Loss

Asuka stood amongst the clouds, and gathered around her, were various people who all were different, yet were all alike. There was one man with spikey golden hair, and blue eyes, there was a woman who was dressed as if she was from the future, but wore a red ring around her wrist. There was a woman with long pigtails, and the top of her hair done up into two balls. There also stood a knight, who had an Elf clinging to his arm, as well stood a man wearing a green tank top, and black shorts. "Who...are you people?" The spike haired man spoke first "My name is Son Gouku."

The pig-tailed one spoke next "Usagi Tsukino." Then the knight "Parn, and this is Deedlit." The elven woman waved back shyly. "My name is Heero." Asuka looked at the girl "What about you?" The young girl looked down slightly. "My...my name is..Rico.." They all, save the girl spoke at the same time "We were all victims of Dark Falz. And now, we place all of our hopes upon you." Asuka couldnt believe this,
'Why is everyone starting to think I'm some kind of super hero! I dont have any powers...' her mood darkened noticeably "And..I cant pilot Eva anymore..." "You dont need to, Asuka-chan. Now that you have us." Asuka's eyes snapped wide open, as she turned around, and came face to face with someone she knew well. "Mother?"

Meanwhile, Dark Falz stood atop a skyscraper, as he watched his minions overrun the city. Filling the streets with darkness, blood, and madness. He looked to the sky, raising his hands up. Around him, ancient markings appeared, and began to glow faintly. The screams of the citizens below forced him to smile, as a white ball began to form in his hands. It was very small at first, but then began to very slowly grow. "Soon, this world, such as all others, shall be judged." He began to laugh insanely, as lightning rained down from the sky, and the heavens themselves began to weep. The Lance of Longinus lay at his feet, and began to warp and change, as he laughed. It changed into more of a vile looking blade, which seemed to be composed of human flesh, rather than heavenly material.

"Mother? Is that really you?" Kyoko Zeppelin Sohryu smiled at her daughter, and nodded. "Yes dear. It is me." Asuka stared at her for a moment, then cried out, running toward her, and hugging her tightly. "Mother! Oh god...Mother I missed you so much!" Kyoko wrapped her arms around her, and gently stroked her hair, as Asuka began to cry into chest. "Shh, it's ok Asuka-chan. I've always been here." Asuka sniffled looking up at her, "Wha?" "Asuka, do you remember all the good times we've had? Do you remember me smiling at you, and telling you what a good girl you were?"

Asuka shook her head "All I remember is the bad things momma.." Kyoko smiled sweetly "You have to forget all the bad things Asukachan. Only then, will it cooperate." Asuka's eyes went wide "You mean...Eva?" "You know young lady, there are more things to life than just piloting." Gouku spoke up. Asuke turned around and looked at him "Like what?" Gouku smiled "Like friends, and good food!" Pictures of Hikari, Touji, Kensuke, Misato, Kaji, even Ritsuko and Maya flashed in her mind, as well as a slow lingering picture of Shinji.

Heero spoke up next "One's mission in life is not to accomplish simply one goal. But to accomplish many goals, and to overcome the trials and tribulations of life. Only then, can one truly say that they have lived." Parn nodded "If you fight simply to show others you are strong, all they see is the outside. If you fight to protect those you care for," He hugged Deedlit a little closer "Then they see the real you."

Usagi spoke next, her tone soft and gentle "You know you carry love deep inside your heart Asuka. It shows from time to time, but it is indeed there." A picture of Asuka smiling at Shinji when he came to her rescue inside the Volcano flashed into Asuka's mind. "But..what if that love is rejected..what if Kaji-san rejects me." Usagi's smile only widened "You know you arent talking about about Kaji, Asuka. And the only way to find out, is to ask him first." Asuka looked at her mother, who was smiling as well. "Although I dont really approve of his father, the Ikari child is a fine young man Asuka."

Asuka looked around. "What am I supposed to do! I cant beat him in my Eva!" 'Anything is possible Miss Sohryu.' Adam's voice whispered. "Adam!?" Asuka looked around, and she was alone, in a world of white. "WAIT! MOTHER!? MOTHER!! WHERE ARE YOU!?" 'She resides within your heart and mind Miss Sohryu. As long as you remember her smiling at you, remember her voice, telling you to fight on, then your mother has never truly left.

She has been with you this entire time.' Asuka closed her eyes, and saw her mother standing, holding a sleeping baby in her hands "There you are, my little angel. I love you so much." Asuka opened her eyes, and she was back in NERV HQ, a glowing white blade standing before her. Without hesitating, she grabbed it, and felt power flowing through her. 'Mother...I'll make you proud.' she thought. Then sprinted off, even faster than before, heading towards Lilith's chamber.

As she rounded another corner, an explosion struck her in the stomach like a sledgehammer, sending her into an adjacent wall. As she looked up, she saw the centarish beast, only, it's face looked like Kaji's somewhat. "Ka....Kaji...Kaji-san?" He grinned as he felt her sorrow. "Kaji is dead child...and you shall join him." His head twisted and mutated until it became a horrific form as the others had become. Asuka looked at him, she couldnt believe it. 'Fret not child, for when Dark Falz is defeated, there might be a way to restore things to the way they once were.

Asuka looked over the demon her beloved Kaji had become, "Then...in order to bring Kaji." Her face became serious "No, not just Kaji. EVERYONE! In order to bring everyone back, I." She took a step forward, taking a stance she learned in one of the kendo classes taught in college. "Will." She suddenly dashed forward, "NOT. BE. BESTED!" She swung hard, the blades clashing, but Kaji pushed with his hind legs, knocking Asuka back. He made some inhuman noise, as his back suddenly opened up, revealing what appeared to be thrusters composed of muscle tissue.

All at once, air was forced out, propelling him forward, his arm extended, as if jousting. Asuka no longer thought, but reacted, she spun, dodging the charge, but turned so fast she was able to bring down a swing, and catch him in the side. But as soon as the wound was cleaved, it sealed. The demonic beast that used to be friendly Kaji Ryouji snarled, and bellowed loudly. More deamons decended from the cieling and began their own assault. Asuka merely clenched her teeth, and grinned. She planted her foot, and swung forward.

Rei swathed a path attempting to reach Lilith, but with every swing, more of the demons appeared to incumber her path "Is there no end to this!?" She swung again, and heard a tremendous thud behind her, as well as a few hundred different inhuman screams. She turned, to see Olga Flow, in the same state, but only in a human form, rather than a centaurish one. Rei's eyes went wide with fear, and despair began to flood her heart. 'There....is just no end. It's like I'm asleep. Lost in a nightmare I cannot wake from.' "YoU ArE WRonG ChiLD! ThIs Is VeRy MUcH ReAliTy!!"

Rei managed to dodge the humongous blade swung down in her direction, as it annihilated the ground in it's path. Rei looked up at her massive opponent, then to Lilith. 'That option is out of the question...Adam is no longer here. Ikari-kun...what should I do...where are you..?' She blocked another demons arm, but noticed the glint of glasses in the light. She turned and faced the object, and once more, her eyes went wide. "Aida-san!?" The demon giggled manaically, and charged at her again. Rei clenched her teeth, and mouthed "I am sorry." just before cleaving him in two. 'That means...if Aida-san is gone...then Ibuki-san is also.' A cruel laugh brought her from her thoughts as Olga Flow brutally swung downward. She managed to roll out of the way, looking up at the seemingly unstoppable tyrant.

Dark Falz stood upon the sky scraper, holding the new lance of longinus in his hand. "This blade no longer carries the unholy brand of old. It shall take on a new name, the Sword of the Chaos Bringer." He grinned, and sat down on the edge, smiling serenely.

As Asuka swung, her blade fired an arc of light, cutting through the denizens as if they were butter. With every swing, that arc of light came. 'What is this thing!?' she thought, and Adam answered 'A weapon of holy might, capable of cleansing this land of darkness. The Lavis Cannon.' Kaji dodged left and right, and attempted to charge again. Asuka caught him out of the corner of her eye, clutching the blade tighter, she turned, and charges him head on.

They swung at the same time.

Kaji roared. As did Asuka.

Kaji's blade began to crack. Asuka's didnt.

Kaji screeched loudly as the blade passed through his body, and granted the soul within passage to the next realm.

Asuka felt the tears streaming down her eyes, but she did not break down. Instead, she whispered a silent prayer, and continued her path. She finally made it to the drop shaft, and jumped. As she decended, she could hear the sounds of battle, as well as loud thunderclaps. "Thunderclaps? Here? What the hell is going on?"

Rei opted that hiding in the LCL lake was a bad idea, seing how when she tried, Olga fired an electric wave into it. "What IS this thing?" She swung at his foot, attempting to cleave it in two, but it was met with a metal clank. "What?!" Was all she could say as he brought his foot forward, catapulting hr backwards, into the ocean of LCL. As she came up for air, she noticed olga flow point his sword arm into the air, and also notices that the air around him started to shift with heat distortion. Rei knew she couldnt move quick enough to get out of the way, so she closed her eyes, and awaited death, when suddenly Olga cried out, stumbling forward.

Asuka had plummeted down, hitting the ground with one foot, and propelling herself forward in one fluid motion. The blast doors had been opened, and a giant black hulking demon was standing in her way. Asuka didnt like things in her way, so, she swung her sword in a wide arc, sending a wave of energy into Olga's back, causing him to stumble forwards. Rei swam out of the LCL, even though she was indeed wearing armor, she floated effortlessly. She looked at Asuka, and Asuka looked at her, and both spoke at the same time. "What happened to you?" Then both answered at the same time, "Adam/Lilith" They both stared at each other with a "Huh!?" kind of look. Asuka and Rei then turned to the now standing Olga Flow, and once again, spoke in unison

"We'll discuss it later." They both darted forward, heading for seperate legs. Olga Flow swung at Asuka, while firing his photnic beam at Rei. Asuka jumped up, landing on the blade in mid-swing. Rei brought up her AT-Field, and rebounded the beam from it, to an unsuspecting wall, melting a hole through it. Asuka bolted right up his arm, slashing at his face. Olga jumped in the air, and spun, knocking her off. But Asuka caught herself on the ground, right next to Rei. 'What has happened to the second child!? She is...so different...' Asuka was breathing hard.

Back amongst the clouds, Gouku, Parn, Deedlit, Kyoko, and the others, stood silently, as they all looked down upon the world. Gouku smiled "Do you think it was a good idea?" Kyoko smiled "We didnt need to tell her." Rico sighed softly "This is the last..the last remaining universe.." Parn frowned "She is going to need our help to beat them. Rei will not be able to provide enough aid." Gouku smiled "I guess this is goodbye then everyone." Rico shook her head, "No, I shall remain. It is my duty." The others smiled, closed their eyes, and then, vanished, all speaking "We give unto thee, our power." Rico smiled softly. "I hope that they will be enough...

Asuka felt a sudden rush of energy through her body, and also, she heard the words "We give unto thee, our power.." Asuka suddenly felt refreshed,as if all she had done was walk in the park. Olga brought his blade down hard on Asuka's position, but it stopped cold. Askua held it in her hand, effortlessly. Olga's "face" contorted into what could be identified as surprise. She threw it back, causing Olga to stumble back. Rei couldnt believe what she was witnessing, as she watched the Second child, Asuka Langely Sohryu, the girl who could never be beaten, the girl with a trouble past, the normal, human, girl, swing her sword beyond speeds comprehendable by man, sending thousands of arc light beams into Olga Flow. He screamed each time he was pierced, and when Asuka finally stopped, he collapsed. Piece by piece.

Asuka sat there for a moment, looking at her work, then she looked at her hands. She then collapsed, nearly sobbing "What in the name of God is happeneing to me?" Rei ran over and knelt down " I do not know Second child...this all seems like some terrible dream..but I assure you, it is reality. You have managed to face reality before, you need to once again. For Ikari's sake." Asuka looked down at the floor "So you knew?" Rei smiled slightly, knowing that they had no time, but didnt care, for she knew that the salvation of all lay within Asuka. "It is said that the opposite sex show violence toward one another when they show interest." Asuka frowned "Well..."

And for the very first time, Asuka and Rei had "Girl Talk".

Adam and Lilith watched from their hosts minds, completely blocked out. If they had physical bodies, they'd both have humongous sweatdrops, both spoke at the same time "We dont have time for this..."

Dark Falz looked back down, sneering. "Damnable children. Always in the way. It is of no matter. They shall be dealt with." He grabbed his sword, and vanished, reappearing in the Eva cages. He slowly apporached Eva Unit One, who's eyes were glowing a fiery red. "Oh yes, dear mother," he spoke in Shinji's voice "You shall be the vessel in which this world is destroyed." The Eva started to move, desperately trying to break free from the restraints. "Does it pain you to see me this way mother?" he asked, as he floated from the ground slightly, the ancient runces appearing on the floor around him. "It is only a matter of time, dearest." The Eva roared loudly in defiance.

Rei and Asuka both heard the Eva scream, and looking toward the gaping hole in the wall, that led right to it. "C'mon Wonder girl, we have to move!" "I insts you stop calling me that." Rei spoke softly as they ran off. They were on the Same platform as Shinji, who seemed to bear them no mind, as he concentrated on Unit One. :Ikari-kun!?/Shinji?!"The runes around him faded, and the sword in his hand began to glow with a soft red light. "Asuka, Rei, thank god your here." He turned his head and looked at him, his black eyes full of madness. "Wait...your not Baka Shinji! What the hell are you!?" Shinji blinked, causing his eyes to return to normal, turned and smiled, "But I am Shinji Asuka-chan! I remember everything about you! Remember, we shared our first kiss?"

Asuka blushed, and her heart fluttered somewhat "Umm..yeha..well.." "And lets not forget we've slept together Asuka-chan." Rei quirked a brow at that one, but realized what he was doing, and quietly sneaked off to the side. "BAKA! WE ONLY SLEPT IN THE SAME ROOM!" Shinji came closer "But I know that I wanted you Asuka-chan. I wanted you so badly...." His grip on his sword tightened, as Asuka tried to figure out what was going on. Her mind was beginning to muddle. "But..uh...god, now I sound like you." Shinji prepared to ram his sword through her "Dont worry Asuka-chan, everything will be alright." He then stopped as he looked at Rei's scythe blade protrude from his stomach, knocking Asuka out of her daze. "This i not Shinji Ikari, Sohryu. It is a demon!" Falz snickered "Very well percieved Child of Lilith." The blade somehow was forcibly ejected from his body, causing Rei to stumble backwards some. "What in the name of" Falz cut her off "God? You poor child. I am your God now. And I welcome you all with open arms." He grinned, looking to Asuka. "Wide. Open. Arms." And with that he charged.

Asuka managed to block, but was sent flying back into a wall. What would normally hurt like freaking hell, but felt like she had just been tickled. She sprung back up, and swung hard, sending an arc of light towards him. He merely held up his palm, and the wave dispersed, "Childs play will not work here fool!" Rei made her move, slamming the blade of her scythe into his neck, and slinging him to the side, ripping it from the flesh. There was no blood, but only bits and pieces of skin, which floated in the air, before returning to their orignal spots on Falz. "I told you.." He growled, raising his sword in the air, causing heat distortion to occur. "Childs play, will. NOT. WORK!" He fired a solid beam into the air, which then curved, and split into several thousand others.

Rei and Asuka danced about, dodging beam after beam, each one striking the ground with a small explosion. It lasted for only a millisecond, but seemed endless. Asuka looked up, and saw him above. He came down hard, slamming his blade into hers, causing the ground below her to crack. She shoved him away, but he used the force, to propel himself towards Rei, who was already waiting for him. He swung in a wide arc, but she jumped, causing him to merely slide by, but she quickly flipped, and sliced his back wide open. But as soon as her blade tore flesh, it closed almost immediately. Falz stopped instanteasnously on one foot, pushed backwards, and turned, catching her armor with his blade, but tearing through it as if it were paper. The force caused her to slide back, and over her jumped Asuka.

She swung wildly, but was met with nothing but metallic clanks as her sword was blocked by Falz'. She then jumped back, and swung hard, sending a shockwave of energy at him again. "I told you child..." He raised his hand up, but was met with an unexpected blade, as Asuka jumped forward, and thrusted, catching him in the face, and beating the energy wave by a millisecond, causing his palm, and arm to be cut in two. Asuka then spun to the right, tearing the blade out. But once again, the wounds and torn flesh and bone returned to normal, but Falz was no longer smiling, he was frowning. "I see. I guess we'll have to step things up a bit." He charged and swung at Asuka, but the force seemed to be doubled, sending her through an adjacent wall. Rei attempted another slice from behind, only to catch a roundhouse in the side, sending her into the same wall, creating a different hole.

Asuka sat up, blood running from her mouth a little "What the hell? He got stronger!?" Dark Falz stomped toward them, heat distortion forming around him. He pointed his palm at them as he spoke. "I went easy on you becasue you were a kid," There was a flash of light from his palm "but no more." A series of small explosions made their way towards the two. They darted in opposite directions, just as two bigger explosions erupted from the ground they they had just occupied. "He was holding back." Rei stated "No fucking duh wonder woman." was Asuka's quick retort, as she ducked a black energy wave. She spun on the ground, sending one towards him, but it struck a black AT Field and dispersed. Dark Falz then jumped back, pointing out his palm again, only this time, after the flash there was a series of blue explosions. One caught Rei in the leg, and encased it within ice. Asuka brought a quick slice to his back, but he countered, spinning, blocking the blade, and binging up his other foot to kick her upwards. He smiled slightly, jumped, with one arm extended, slamming into her mid-section, knocking the wind out of her.

He then moved, standing on top of her, in mid-air, and slung her downwards, followed immidately by opening his hand, a flash of light, and a red explosion right before she landed, catapulting her to the right. "Too weak." He spat as heat distorstion formed around him, only to have his concentration distrubed as Rei split him down the middle. The wound quickly healed, and Falz turned, bringing his sword at a downward angle, catching her frozen leg, shattering the ice, but causing a large amount of damage to her leg, causing her to lose balance. He took this oppurtunity to fire the explosion right into her stomach, causing her to fly backwards, and imbed within a wall. He laughed, as both of the would be saviours lay still. "A valiant attempt, but like all the others, a failure." He set his sword to float connected to his back, dusted off his hands, and vanished.

Asuka coughed up blood, as she tried to stand, but to no avail. between grunts of pain, she called out "Wondergirl, could you give me a hand?" There was no reply.

"Hey! Wondergirl?"

Nothing.

"Wondergirl!?"

Still nothing.

"Rei?"

Silence.

(Author: So ends yet another chapter. Rei had died, and Asuka has fallen to Dark Falz' power. It seems nothing may beat him. The madness has to stop somewhere, dosent it? Dosent it?)

SNEAK PREVIEW: Chapter 10 Part

You Only Hurt The Ones You Love.

Asuka looked up, and saw Rei's battered body. Her chest wasent moving, and her weapon was gone. Asuka's only aid in this battle, and her newest friend, was gone. The person she thought she loved was gone, the people she cared for were gone, and the one person who loved her, was gone. For the first time in a long time, Asuka Langely Sohryu cried. Her tears ran freely, as she beat against the ground. Hopelessness was all she felt. "I..I cant win! I've lost...I've lost again...I've lost everything..." When Adam's soft voice came into her mind 'It's not over yet Sohryu.' She grunted in pain as she flipped over "Adam..I cant win..I cant beat him!" She looked at her sword, which was still in perfect condition, even after all that. It had begun to glow softly. "What the?" Adam spoke softly, and soothingly 'I will use the very last of my abilities Asuka.' The glow intensified as he spoke 'If you win this battle, no, this war, this war against the darkness, everything shall be restored as it once was, and you will all have a second chance at life.' Asuka's eyes widened slightly 'We are all putting our faith in you Asuka.' the blade of the sword turned to pure white, and Adam's voice became weaker, 'Please, avenge Lilith for me...and take care..' The pain her body began to lift "Where are you going?" 'Home.' And with that, the swords glow encompassed her. She was suddenly in a world of white. Threads of greenish light surrounded her, and changed, forming armor decorated with holy symbols. This armor encompassed her, from the neck down. She felt her pain and fatigue gone, sudddenly replaced by strength, and vigilance. She opened her eyes, which instead of blue, and tearful, were filled with hope. "I feel it..." She clenched her right hand, and the sword appeared within her grasp. The world of white dissapaited, and she was back within the Lilith's Chamber. Lilith was gone, and so was the body of Rei. Asuka looked up.

Dark Falz looked down from his perch atop a Skyscraper. The ball of energy he was gathering suddenly disappaited. "The portal!" He sensed something immense far below him, and looked down. He could sense the emotions, hearing Asuka's thoughts, but in the voices of those he had slaughtered in the past in his head. "I'll obliterate you. Kill you. I will crush you. Destroy every last thread of your existance." And finally "I will take everything back."
