The Ode To the Fallen Begins.

Shinji slowly made his way through the halls, as he thought about what Idola had said to him earlier at Asuka's side.

Shinji had sat and watched Asuka for what seemed days, but had only been minutes. He thought about how the way things used to be, how she teased him, and called him names. But he also remembered, what he thought, were the good times, when Asuka ha a geniune smile on her face, and when she laughed or giggled on those rare occasions where one of her friends said something funny. "I wish things could go back to the way they were." and from out of nowhere, he heard Idola's voice "I can grant you that wish." Shinji looked around, scared at first, but then relaxed. "Wait..I thought you were only in my dreams." "I am very much for real Shinji, and so is the power that I can grant you." Shinji sighed, looking at Asuka's prone body, "Will I be able to bring her back?" "You will be able to bring her back Shinji. As well as take revenge on the one who put her in this position." Shinji's face contorted into a snarl "Father.." "Yes Shinji. You can pay him back for all the things he has done to you and your friends. You can finally pay him back for what he forced you to do to Touji." Shinji sighed, as anger and sadness began to mix and form one of the most deadly solutions: Hate. "Do you want what I have to offer you Shinji?" Shinji was a bit hesitant, but he closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and answered, "Yes." "Come to me then Shinji, and I shall grant your every desire."

Shinji took another left turn in the seemingly endless maze of halls, tunnels, and walkways. It seemed that he had no idea where he was going, but in reality, he was already close to claiming his prize. Kensuke Aida on the other hand, seemed to be on a loosing streak, as he sat in a dark room, the only thing lit was the chair he, Misato Katsuragi, Gendo Ikari, and Ritsuko Akagi occupied. The poor lad was sweating bullets under the cold gaze of Gendo, and nearly jumped out of his chair when he spoke "Mr. Aida, what gave you the notion that you could hack into a Government computer system, and not be caught?" Ritsuko looked at him this time. "The Magi Computer system is one of the most highly advanced on the face of the earth.

There's no possible way you can enter without SOMEONE taking notice. But I will give you credit for managing to get past my personal firewall young man. You must have SOME skill." Kensuke nodded slightly "Thank you ma'am..." And then he decided that now isint the time to gloat about his skill. Gendo spoke up "Major Katsuragi, what of the supposed translations you found?" Misato held up a sheet of notebook paper with Kensuke's handwriting on it. "He said that the language is in 'Celestrial' and it's anybody's guess as to what the hell that means." She looked to Kensuke "Care to explain?" Kensuke sighed "You wouldnt understand Ms. Misato." "Humor me."

With another heavy sigh, Kensuke went about explaining different languages of the D&D world to Misato Katsuragi, who at the end of it all, looked rather annoyed. "So you base your findings on a game developed by a group of nerds with no lives?" "That isint true! Some say that some of these adventures actually occured!" Misato sighed, but Gendo spoke up. "This boy might just be telling the truth. We have tried every other known language including Latin as well as several dead languages. What does it say?" Misato scanned the paper, then looked back to Gendo "Celebrate the Revolution to the Origin, for when Darkness Falls, Idola shall hold the Immortal Feather, and Wield the Divine Blade." Gendo cocked a brow, as well as Akagi. "Who?!" "Idola sir." Gendo assumed his trademarked position, "Dismissed." and the light upon him vanished.

Misato however panicked "Wait! What am I supposed to do with him?" Akagi gathered her things and looked to Misato "Just keep an eye on him. By the way, Mr. Aida, do you still have that game language book?" Kensuke shook his head "No, the guards took it from me when you brought me here." Ritsuko smiled "Alright then. Misato, take him home, or something." and the light upon Ritsuko also vanished. Kensuke looked at Misato with hope in his eyes "Does this mean we can tour NERV?!" "ARGH!"

Shinji had arrived at the doors of the Research Department, but something was odd in the fact that it was desolate. Normally, there were guards or scientists 24/7, but they had all gone missing. Shinji looked up, staring at the sign, wondering if he was about to do the right thing, and a little more coaxing from Idola proved it to be right enough. He swiped his ID card through the reader, and the doors silently parted. As he began to take a step forward, a soft and unexpected voice startled him "Ikari-kun?" "GAH!" He jumped, and turned around to see Rei Ayanami, dressed in her school clothes. "Rei! Jeez, dont sneak up on me like that!" "Did I frighten you Ikari-kun?" "No, just startled me is all." After his heart calmed down slightly, he managed to look Rei in the eyes, "Whats wrong Rei?" "I have just recieved news about the Second Child. She is awake." Shinji's heart skipped a beat. "Wh-what?" "I said 'The Second Child is awake.' "

Shinji couldnt believe it. "When!? When did this happen?!" "I was informed twenty minutes ago by Lt. Ibuki. She asked for me to relay the information to you, when you were located by camera." Shinji sighed happily, "Thank you Rei! I'll go see her right now!" As he began to run past her, Rei caught his arm, holding him back. "Rei!? What are you doing?!" "Ikari-kun, are you alright?" Shinji nodded, I'm just really happy Rei!" Her eyes narrowed slightly "There is something different about you Ikari-kun.." with that, she released him. Shinji simply shrugged it off, and began to bolt towards the exit. Rei however looked toward the opened doors, and continued Shinji's journey for him. She walked down a small corridor with many rooms, coming to the very last one, that was slightly opened. She opened it fully, and walked in, her eyes laying upon the Quartz tablet. As she scanned it up and down, her brow cocked slightly as she wondered what "Idola" was. As she finished reading, she felt something in the very back of her mind.

She backed up slightly, as something from the tablet was not agreeing with her. She could feel something from it, something horrible, something that would inflict pain and suffering. "What is this feeling from this object? Is it pain? No..it is something much deeper.. Is it sadness? No, something much worse. Is it hate? Yes..that is what this is. Why is this feeling coming from this stone?" Rei heard the door behind her all of the sudden slam shut, as the tablet began to glow, and pulsate with an eerie green light. She saw images flash before her mind. The shadow demon. Herself armed with weapons of old. Falling. A black AT Field. She felt something grab her shoulder, and she whipped around to see the man with black patched skin, only, his forearms were gone, and had been replaced with a same length bone, with a glowing blade attached to it.

He still wore the demented grin on his face, and his head cocked to the side as he spoke "Whats wrong Rei?" Rei's eyes were wide, but her face displayed no traces of fear. She blinked, and where the demon stood, was Gendo Ikari. "Rei? What are you looking at Rei?" 'Was that a vision..?' "Nothing Commander." "Come now Rei. It's time for your testing." Rei nodded and followed obediantly, as they walked through the open door. 'Wasent that...' Rei shook her head slightly, and decided to focus on it much later. She had things of greater importance to attend to at the moment.

(Whoo! Well, isint the plot building. Will Idola lose control over Shinji now that Asuka is awake? Or will Asuka doom the world with her pride? Find out next time on DRAGON BALL Z! Wait...wrong show...Dark Force: Eva! )
