****** The House ******

 

Misato was walking towards Rei's room and she was worried about her, ever since they had left Nerv Rei had been an emotional wreck and juring the trip back to the house she had sat in the back of the

" Misato said and saw Rei's lower lip tremble at the sound of Drake's name and Misato could see such fear and confusion in Rei's eyes that she felt a stab of rage towards Drake well up in her heart but that rage was tempered with her own confusion for she had seen how Rei and Drake where starting to become close to one another and because of that she could not understand how Drake would have said what ever it was that he had said that had hurt Rei so badly for she was certain that Drake cared about Rei in some way and the idea of him doing or saying something to cause Rei this level of misery was beyond her understanding.

 

Rei looked up and her and Misato felt the need to hug Rei close to her but held off as she saw Rei's mouth open, " Captain why are you here? " came Rei's words in a dead tone of voice as Misato saw that Rei had regressed to the way she had been when they had first met and her troubled heart went out to Rei once more, Misato could see that she was going to have a hard time getting Rei to open up to her but she was bound and determined to get to the bottom of his matter, " Rei honey I know this is difficult but I need to know what did Drake say to you? Misato knew that Rei was deeply in love with Drake but she was not able to make the connection between her feelings for Drake and part of her heart that would allow her to truly love Drake and she knew that she had to choose her words carefully or she could cause Rei unimaginable emotional harm for Rei had reached out to her and trusted her completely and Misato vowed that she would do everything to help Rei out with this emotional turmoil she was going though.

" Rei from what you have told me about how you feel about Drake I would say that you love him.
