****** The House Three Days Later ******

 

It was 1:45am when Misato along with Drake who she had brought home after she had finished her late shift at Nerv walked into the house.

" Drake you should go to bed now. " Misato said as Drake shut the front door behind them, " Ok Misato I'm just going to get a glass of water to take my painkillers with then I'll hit the hay. " Drake said as he fished out a small bottle of Percocet (Don't know how to spell that drug's name) from his right front pants pocket and made his way into the kitchen to get the glass of water then opened the bottle and shook one of the tablets out of the bottle swallowed the tablet and chased it down with the water then re-caped the bottle and tucked it away in his pants pocket and finished off the water as Misato got herself a beer out of the fridge.

" Go easy on those painkillers the last thing I need is for you to become strung out on them. " Misato said to Drake with concern in her voice.

 

Drake smiled at Misato and told her not to worry that he had the situation with the painkillers under control and then put his glass in the sink and made his way upstairs to go to bed leaving Misato to nurse her nightly beer, even though she knew that Drake was smart enough not to abuse the painkillers she could not help but to worry about him becoming addicted to them and made a mental note to keep a close eye on him, once she was done with her beer she tossed the empty can into the garbage can and begain to strip out of her shirt as she made her way to her bedroom to settle down for the night.

 

The next morning Misato got out of her bed as her alarm clock begain to buzz and gave the alarm clock a very dirty look and wonder if she shot it if she could write off the price of a new alarm clock off to Nerv as a living cost then got out of her bed and shut off the alarm clock and begain to get dressed, once she was dressed Misato walked out into the kitchen and saw Shinji frying up something on the stove while Asuka was eating from a plate of french toast while Gwen was eating a plate loaded with fried eggs and bacon and Rei was eating her fired tofu.

" Morning Misato. " Shinji said as she opened the fridge and got her morning beer and grunted her greeting to Shinji when there was sound of foot steps and in walked Drake and everyone looked at him.

Drake looked like a week old dead cat as his eyes where half shut due to the late hour he got to sleep at and the mulling effects of the painkillers he was on, " Drake when did you get back? " Shinji asked as Drake shuffled towards the cup bored that held the nearly empty jar of instant coffee, Rei stopped eating and was watching Drake who winced as he tried to reach up and get the jar of coffee out of the cup bored and she felt her gut churn as her mind kicked into overdrive as she was bombarded with a host of feelings that she had tried to keep at bay that Drake had instilled in her with his shocking bedside confession a week ago as she was torn apart by the need to help Drake for some odd reason and the fear of her feelings towards Drake and ended up just sitting there in indecision.

 

" Shinji would you do me a big favor would you make me a very strong cup of coffee? " Drake asked as he wobbled over to a chair and plopped down into it as he struggled to keep his eyes open, Gwen and Asuka just looked at Drake and where shocked to see the sorry state he was in as was Misato, Shinji finished cooking his breakfast and piled it on his plate then went to the cup bored and got the jar of coffee as well as a big cup and then he got a spoon and shoveled in a heaping table spoon of the coffee into a cup, " More. " Drake rasped and watched as Shinji added another spoon full off coffee to the cup and then at the nod of Drake's head he added another then Drake told him to add one more, Misato gave Drake a * Are you crazy!* look then Shinji walked over to the sink and filled the cup with water, stirred the cold coffee a few time to mix it well then put the spoon aside and put the cup in the microwave and set the power to high and nuked the cup of coffee for a minute and forty-five seconds, once the microwave pinged Shinji took out the steaming cup of coffee and placed it in front of Drake who brought it under his nose and sniffed it and seemed to perk up at the strong rich smell of the coffee then he slammed back the coffee.

" DRAKE! " Misato cried out in a stunned voice as she and the other children watched as Drake chugged down the coffee in go then slammed down the cup on the dinner table and slumped forwards a bit.

Misato, Asuka, Gwen and Shinji and long with Rei where watching Drake and Rei noticed the shocked looks on the other's faces and wonder why they where shocked by Drake actions, a few minutes later Drake's eyes suddenly shot wide open as he threw his head back, "AAAAHHHHHH WHAT A RUSH! " he cried out as every vein in his body stood out as the caffeine rolled over him like and armored column of T-90 tanks and Rei became shocked by her understanding of what was happening to Drake as he looked at them with a manic gleam in his eyes and she wondered why Drake was abusing his body in such a manor as the bright eyed and bushy tailed look on his face told them all that he was wired for sound.

 

" Thanks Shinji I needed that! " Drake said with a smile on his face that lasted for three tenth's of a second as Misato begain to royally chew his ass off, " Drake you are going to give yourself a heart attack for fuck sakes! " she said as she leaned over the table and got into Drake's face and realized Drake was higher then a kite in a tornado, " Maybe so Misato but not to day, Hehehehe! " Drake chuckled as he sat back in his chair.

Misato shook her head in disgust at Drake antics.

 

After breakfast was finished the children got themselves ready for another day of torture...er school and piled into the mini-van/suv Gwen was sitting in the front passenger's seat while Asuka and Rei where sitting in the middle row while Shinji and Drake where sitting in the very back seat and Drake was looking at the back of Rei's head and was wondering what was on her mind as he recalled the conversation that he and Misato had in the recovery room while Shinji was listing to his SDAT player.

Asuka looked over at Rei and saw by the far away look that she had something on her mind and as much as she wanted to know what the albino was thinking she just did not have desire to ask her about what was on her mind since that meant that she would have to talk to Rei so she sat there quietly as she wrestled with her own problems as she found herself fighting down the urge to turn around and see what Shinji was doing then kicked herself for even thinking about such a thing.

Misato was looking in the rear view mirror at the other children in the back of the mini-van/suv for it was far to quiet for her liking and she felt the hairs on the back of her neck rise up as she saw the thoughtful looks on both Rei and Asuka's faces while Shinji was tuned out into his own little world while Drake was looking out the back window as they made there way to school and Misato got a feeling deep down in her gut as her finely trained combat senses that there was trouble in the air but she could not for the life of her pin point who or where the trouble would be coming from and she continued drive as her unease increased by each moment that ticked by.

 

 

****** Tokyo-3 Number 1 Public Jr. High School Class 2-A ******

 

 

Hikari was watching Touji as he talked with Kensuke and she felt flustered as she recalled how he had made her cum and was eager to get him alone once more for some loving between them when in walked Asuka, Gwen and Rei fallowed by Shinji and Drake and she walked over to Gwen and Asuka and begain to chat with them, " So Hikari how was your dinner date? " Drake how are you doing? " Touji said as he and Kensuke made there way over to talk with him and Shinji who where at Shinji's desk, " I'm doing just fine. " Drake said with a grin that told both boys that Drake was on something, " Are you sure your ok? " Kensuke asked as he saw the fresh scar over Drake's left eye and Drake begain to explain what had happened to him in his eva.

 

" Ok class you know the drill! " Hikari called out as the teacher walked into the room and for a moment they all looked at her for she was acting differently then she usually was when she called the class to rise and bow when the teacher entered the room, after they stood and bowed then took there seats Mr.Hugoa faced the class, " Today we have some new students. " he said then looked over to the open door of the classroom and in walked four boys and three girls and the first thing that the student of class 2-A noticed was that one of the boys had a lime green mohawk and that one of the girls had blond dyed hair.

 

Tatsuhiko Saito looked over the class and smiled to himself and breifly introduced himself and the rest of the students looked him over and saw that he was about 115 lbs most of it muscle and he stood five feet six inches tall with dark brown eyes and short black hair and he looked to be sixteen years old, then stood aside as one of the other boys stepped forward, " Hello I'm Ranmaru Hibikiya. " the boy with the lime green mohawk said with a hyper edge to his voice as he smiled at the rest of the students looked at him as if he had crawled out of a sewer and he stood five foot, three inches tall and looked to be about 98 lbs and he looked no older then fifteen, then he stepped back and another boy stepped forwards, " I'm Kimihito Satake. " the tall if slightly muscle bound boy said with a cold tone of voice as he gave the rest of the class a challenging look with his hard brown eyes and the rest of the student guessed his height to be five feet seven inches tall with long black hair in a ponytail and his weight to be about a hundred lbs and he looked like he was fourteen years old then stepped back, " My name is Yuta Ito. " the last boy said after he had stepped forwards, after he was done speaking he stepped back and he stood about five feet, six inches tall and weighted about one hundred lbs with light brown eyes and brown hair and the students guessed him to be seventeen years old and then the blond haired girl stepped forwards.

 

" Hello I'm Haruka Hojo." the girl said and mostly the boys of the class and a few girls gave her a good looking over and saw that she stood about four feet ten inches tall and her weight seemed to be 98 lbs and her cup sized was in between a C cup and a D cup and her dyed blond hair reached down to the small of her back and she looked to be fifteen years old with a come hither look in her brown eyes and she stepped back with a slightly sexy smile that caused a few loins to stir with excitement as the next girl stepped forwards.

" Hello my name is Azusa Yuki. " the girl said with a look in her eyes that told everyone she hated school and she stood about five feet, two inches tall and weighted a hundred lbs and her tits looked to be about a B or C cup with soft brown eyes and brown hair that went down to her shoulders and she looked to be about fourteen years old and from her posture the word * SLUT * came to mind which warmed the lusty hearts of most of the boys and a few girls of class 2-A then she stepped back and the last girl step forwards, " Hello my name is Sayori Hayami. Mr.Hugoa sat down and told the new students to find themselves a seat and they faned out into the class room, Ranmaru found himself a seat next to the window that Rei usual looked out and he looked over at Rei and smiled a toothy smile as the teacher begain the lesson, " Hello how are you? " he said to Rei with a wispier as Drake watched them and was bitten hard by the green eyed monster called jealousy and his noticing of the interaction between Rei and Ranmaru was not noticed by most of the students but the few that did watched with interest, " It is impolite to talk while there is a lesson being taught. " Rei said to Ranmaru with a cold tone of voice that slightly ruffled his feathers, " Oh come on this is the same old boring shit that has been hammered into our heads time and again. " he said and Rei gave him the once over and decided she did not like the new student, " Beside I have to know do you dye the other half? " Ranmaru said with a sick grin and Rei looked away from him with an annoyed look on her face that did little to deter him as he begain a long and slightly hyper one sided conversation that would sorely test her resolve to remain clam and disinterested in the boy beside her as she tried to ignore him as her annoyance grew with each passing moment.

 

Azusa found herself a seat behind a slightly depressed looking boy and she looked him over and saw that he was kind of on the scrawny side and she called out to him, " Hello who are you? " she asked Shinji who was giving her the once over, " Umm miss Yuki there's a lesson being taught and I don't think we should be talking. " Shinji said as he watched Azusa's smile grow, * He so cute and polite as well. * Azusa thought to herself as she continued to smile at Shinji, " What's your name? " she asked and saw the slightly confused look on the boy's face, " M-m-my name is Shinji Ikari. " Shinji managed to stammer out as he felt himself becoming very nervous by the fact that this cute girl was taking an interest in him, off to one side they failed to notice that a certain red headed greman girl was staring daggers at them as they continued to talk to one another for a few more minutes then Shinji turned to face the teacher lest he be caught talking in class.

 

Fifteen minutes later the bell rang for recess and the students begain to file out of the classroom thankful for the brake, Drake went looking for Rei to talk to her about what had happened at Nerv but could not find her it was as if she was hiding from him and he went back to talk with Kensuke, Touji and Shinji as his caffeine buzz reached it peak.

To say Asuka was angry was an understatement as she sat with Gwen and Hikari and her two friends could see the fuming look on her face, " Asuka what's bothering you? " Gwen asked and Asuka turned to face her

" I can't believe that perverted baka he has no shame what so ever! " she griped as they sat down under a tree and Hikari asked her to explain what she was going on about, " Shinji was talking to the new girl, that slut named Azusa, you should have seen the look on his face, I bet he was undressing her with his eyes! " Asuka said with a huffy tone of voice that did little to surprise Hikari, " Ohh sounds like some one is getting jealous. " Hikari said with a teasing voice that made Asuka have a small fit right then and there, " ARE YOU CRAZY WHY THE HELL SHOULD I BE JEALOUS FOR! " she shouted and drew the attention of a few students and Hikari told her to quiet down, once Asuka was some what settled down Gwen spoke to her.

" If you not jealous then why are you making such a big deal out of this then? " she asked Asuka who crossed her arms over her chest, " We have to live with that pervert who knows what he has in mind for that slut and the last thing we need is for him to be spanking his monkey over her! " Asuka snarled but there was something in her voice as well as the fact that Asuka was upset over the fact that Shinji had been talking to one of the new girls in there classroom let alone any girl for that matter that told Hikari and Gwen that Asuka was indeed jealous but both of them knew from experience that when Asuka was in this type of mood the best thing to do was humor her.

But before either of them could say a word one of the new students in there classroom walked over to them and stood there before them.

 

Yuta Ito looked at the three girls before him and smiled for he had noticed the red headed gaijin(Don't how to spell that japanese word) when he had entered his new classroom and decided that he had wanted her and he was sure that his girlfriend would not mind her company in bed and he took a moment to look Asuka over and mentally undress her, " Hello I'm Yuta Ito, what's your name? " he said to Asuka who was looking at him with a mild disgust for she had seen the way he had looked her over and the fact that she was in a foul mood did not help matters any.

" Look pal I don't know you and I don't want to know you so get lost! " Asuka snarled and Yuta just smiled at her, " I'm not a bad guy once you get to know me, I think your hot and I so want to get to know you better. " Yuta said with a sly grin and winked at Asuka who just looked at him with barely contained hate for he had made it quite clear what was on his mind but before Asuka could say anything a voice called out from behind the leering boy, " Hey Yuta come on we got things to do! " Asuka, Gwen and Hikari looked past Yuta and saw the new students standing there and the one that had called out Yuta was Tatsuhiko and he had a * get you ass in gear * look on his face.

" Well I have got to go, I'll be seeing you around. " Yuta said and walked over to the group of new students and Asuka, Hikari and Gwen watched as he embraced the blond haired girl named Haruka and gave her a deep tongue kiss and he ground his crotch into her's as he grabbed her ass then broke the kiss and pointed towards Asuka with his head and Haruka looked over at Asuka and gave her the once over with a lusty look that made it clear to the three girls that she was checking Asuka out as a potential lover and smiled at Asuka then they walked away from where Hikari, Asuka and Gwen where sitting.

" Damn it that was nasty! " Hikari said as she felt her skin crawl at the nasty look that Asuka had gotten and Asuka just sat there with a slightly stunned look on her face for a moment before the three creeped out girls decided to head back to class before Yuta and his little gang of friends returned.

 

****** One Of The Boy's Washrooms Of Tokyo-3 Number 1 Public Jr. High School ******

 

Tatsuhiko watched as the members of his gang * The Street Samurais * where cooking up there hits of speed while Kimihito stood guard at the door to the boy's washroom to turn away any student who tried to enter the washroom, " Ok gang listen up and listen good from what I have been able to make of the students at this school is that most of the students are on the up and up and will rat us out if we try to sell them some of our speed. " he said as Ranmaru, Haruka, Yuta, Azusa and Sayori where loading up there needles.

" So what do we do? " Ranmaru asked as he jabbed the needle into his femoral artery in his groin so he would not leave any track marks on his arms or legs and pushed the plunger of the needle down and enjoyed the rush of the speed entering his system, Yuta readied his needle and shot that load of drugs into the vein in the underside of his cock as he groaned in painful pleasure, Azusa injected her load of drugs into her blood swollen clit and shivered in much the same painful pleasure as Yuta while Sayori injected herself in her jugular artery just under the collar of her school uniform shirt and swayed a bit as the speed hit her like a ton of bricks.

Once they where done with there needles they flushed them down one of the toilets in washroom once that was done Tatsuhiko spoke, " Our best bet in gaining new customers is to befriend a few of the jocks and convince them that our speed will enhance there performance. " he said and watched as Azusa lit up a smoke, " What about convincing some of the less sport minded students that our speed will help them keep up with the jocks? " Kimihito suggested and Tatsuhiko looked over at him, " That's a good idea, glad to see that your on the ball. " he said to Kimihito and then they talked for ten minutes more about how to snare some new customers before the bell rang signaling them to return to class.

 

****** Gendo's Office ******

 

Gendo was sitting at his desk contemplating his scenario then the speaker phone on his desk beeped and he reached over and pushed a button, " Yes. " he said into the speaker phone in a cold voice.

" Sir this is Hyrua of section two, seven new students have been transferred into the same school as the children and may pose a risk to them, I have the complete report of the new students if you want it. " a voice said over the speaker phone, " What kind of risk do these new students pose? " Gendo asked as his brow furrowed at the news of a possible threat to the children, " Sir the new students are a street gang know as the Street Samurais, they are known to deal methamphetamine, also known as speed and they are wanted in Hiroshima for drug violations, what are your orders? " Hyrua said over the speaker phone and waited as Gendo thought about this bit of information, " Observe them for now and keep me informed of there interactions with the children, that is all. " Gendo said and hung up the speaker phone for he was sure that the children would be able to handle themselves if this gang caused them any problems but if any of the children should be injured or become addicted to the drugs that this gang was peddling he would exterminate the gang post haste.

 

 

****** The Lunchroom Of Tokyo-3 Number-1 Public Jr High School ******

 

Drake entered the lunchroom and begain to look for Rei when he was intercepted by Touji and Kensuke who he surprised as he told his two friends that he was busy and walked past them leaving then standing there wondering what was up with there friend, after a few minutes Drake found Rei sitting by herself in the very back table of the lunchroom.

" Rei I need to talk to you. " he said to Rei who looked up from her lunch and he saw the fearful look in her eyes and his heart went out to her and for a moment he just stood there looking at her and when she did not reply to his words he sat down beside her, " Look Rei I might have been hasty with my words in the recovery room but I-" he never finished his words for Rei interrupted him.

" Drake please leave me alone. " she said with a fearful wispier and Drake felt as if she had just reached into his chest and rip his heart out as her rejection laid him low and he felt the need to be alone with his grief that Rei's words had spawned and slowly he got up and walked away with his head hung low and Rei felt her eyes tear up as she had clearly seen the hurt in Drake's eyes as her own feeling of confusion and fear ripped at her troubled soul for she had never intended to hurt Drake but yet she could not get over the fear nor the strange longing in her heart that she felt around him and she begain to cry softly to herself at the emotional torment that she was surely driving her insane, so wrapped up in her fearful misery she did not notice the group of students that where approaching her table.

 

" Hey there what's with you? " Ranmaru said as he and his friends and fellow gang members stood around the table that Rei was at with there lunch trays, when Rei head Ranmaru's voice she managed to stop crying and look up to see the new students standing around her table and saw that the mohawked boy that had been annoying her in class was smiling at her and she felt a slight shiver race down her spine and for a moment she just looked at them with a look of slightly fearful annoyance then she stood up and gathered up her tray and walked away from them as she felt the need to be away from everyone.

" What a bitch! " Sayori spat as she watched Rei make her way though the lunchroom as she took and instant disliking to the blue haired albino as the rest of the gang sat down to eat there lunch, " Maybe she so cold because she's never been dicked before. " Ranmaru said with a sleazy grin on his face as Sayori said down beside Kimihito, her boyfriend, " Maybe so Ranmaru even though she's hot I'll bet she's a dead fuck." Azusa said as she gave Ranmaru a sly grin as she recalled the few times that she and Ranmaru had shared a bed.

" That girl might be cold but I bet that red headed gaijin is as hot to trot as she is hot looking. " Yuta said as he smiled at Haruka who smiled back at him in agreement, her boyfriend always had a good taste in lovers and she was sure that the red headed gaijin he had been talking to would look good with her head in between her legs while Yuta was plundering her ass, " Yes you are right I bet she's wild in bed I hope we can land her. " she said to Yuta as she dug into her lunch.

 

Tatsuhiko thought about the red headed westerner that Haruka and Yuta where talking about and decided that she might make a good customer and told the two of them to try and befriend her and decided that once she was hooked on there drugs he might try her out for himself then the seven of them continued to talk as they ate there lunch.

 

Gwen, Asuka and Hikari where eating there lunch when Asuka asked Hikari to tell her about her dinner date with her new boyfriend and Hikari blushed a deep red at the questions that where being asked asking of her.

" Well he met my two sisters and he seemed to like them and they seem to like him. " she said as she picked at her lunch as Gwen and Asuka looked at her with a questioning look and Hikari continued to speak.

" He like the dinner I had cooked and after dinner we all had ice cream then after that I showed him my room." Hikari added and her face grew redder and redder, both Gwen and Asuka knew something major had happened between Hikari and her mystery man and at Hikari reluctance to go on with her tale both Gwen and Asuka begain to badger her with all sort of questions, finally Hikari could not stand the pressure of her two friends relentless questioning, " We made out. " Hikari said as she looked down at her lunch tray with an extremely red face as Asuka and Gwen gave her a sly look, " So was he any good? " Asuka asked with a devilish grin and all Hikari could do was nod her head and despite there best attempts to get Hikari to give them the juicy details they could not get her to utter a single word of what had transpired between her and Touji.

Asuka and Gwen went back to eating there lunch while they continued to tease Hikari about what had happened between her and her new boyfriend in a good natured manor for the remainder of there lunch brake.

 

****** The House ******

 

When Misato got the children home from school she called Drake and Gwen over to the table in the kitchen, when the two children entered the kitchen they saw Misato sitting at the dinner table and on the table there where two cell phones on it, " Gwen Drake these are your new cell phones, keep them with you at all times so that if your at school or in town or out with your friends I can get a hold of you in case of an angel attack." she said to Drake and Gwen then showed them how to use there new cell phone and the speed dial function on it and show then the list of preprogrammed numbers in there cell phones memory that she had punched into them after she had charged them up earlier in the day.

 

Once she was done with the cell phones and Gwen had left the dinning room smiling like a child on christmas morning who had seen the huge pile of gifts under the christmas tree, Misato saw the tried out and down cast look on Drake's face and asked him to sit down as she took a hefty swig from her beer and watched as Drake plopped himself down on a chair across the table from her.

" Drake what's wrong you look like some one shot your dog. " Misato said with a smile in the hopes of making Drake smile but that effort was for not as Drake just sat there like a lump on a log, " Come on Drake what's bothering you? " Misato said as she felt her heart go out to Drake when she saw the hurting look in his eyes and waited for Drake to speak but when no answer was forth coming she decided to venture a guess as to what had caused Drake the misery he was in, " It's Rei isn't it? " she asked and watched as Drake looked up at her with a woe be gone look on his face, " She brushed me off, I was trying to tell her I was sorry that I had freaked her out and that she is special to me but she told me to leave her alone. " he said with a deeply depressed tone of voice that Misato felt the urge to walk over to him and hug him but the look in his eyes told her that he did not wanted to be touched.

" Well Drake Rei is a complex girl, she is not very adept at social situations. " Misato said as she finished off her beer and watched Drake's face become a mask of confused anger, " I thought we where friends at lest she could have listened to what I had to say to her. " Drake said as he slouched in his chair, " Rei has lived a very sheltered life and as a result of that she is some what emotionally crippled. " Misato said and saw the look of anger grow in Drake's eye and she was sure that Drake was going to blame Rei for her short comings and was about to say something when Drake cut her off, " That's so unfair-" Drake said and before he could say anything else Misato cut him off.

 

" Unfair for who Drake?, you or her? " she said with a slightly stern tone of voice as she felt dismay that Drake was blaming Rei for her problems when the one that should be blamed was the rat fucker Gendo.

" For both of us. " Drake said and Misato was surprised at the depth of his emotions that where surging to the fore front in his voice, " I mean no one should be like that, it's so unfair to Rei she deserves better then this and it hurts me to see her all messed up like this and not being able to do a damn thing about it! " Drake said with a deep dispair in his voice that messed with Misato mind and heart for it hurt to see Drake all broken up like the way he was, Misato got up from her seat and threw the empty beer can into the garbage can and went over to the fridge to get another can of beer as she tried to figure out what to say to Drake to help him though this rough spot in his life, once she had the beer she sat down and cracked it open, took a long drink from it and looked at Drake.

" Well Drake all I can say is give Rei some time to sort out her feelings, I'm cretin that she likes you very much but she is unsure on how to deal with her feelings for you. " Misato said with a smile as Drake seemed to perk up at her words, " How can you be sure that she like me? " Drake asked as a faint glimmer of hope appeared in his eyes, Misato let out a chuckle, " Woman's intuition. " she said with a heart warming smile that made Drake wonder what she knew about Rei that he didn't and asked her explain to him what she had meant by that and all Misato did was told him to trust her.

 

Drake knew from the impish smile on Misato's face that he would not get any answers from her and he had to admit that talking Misato had made him feel a bit better about the whole situation with Rei.

" Misato could I borrow some money from you until payday? " Drake asked as he relaxed a bit, Misato asked him why he wanted to borrow the money for and Drake told her that he wanted to go out on the town and have some fun, " Sure Drake I don't see why not. " Misato said as she went to her room and got her purse, " How much do you need? " she asked Drake who had no idea on the monetary system of Japan and said, " I don't know, I guess just enough to have some fun. " Misato smiled at him and pulled out a wad of bills from her purse and did a quick count of the bills, she took a few of them out and put them back in her purse and held out the fair size wad of yen, " Will 50,000 yen do? " she asked and watched as Drake's eye went wide in shock, " M-M-Misato that's to much! , I mean I can't repay that much back to you on one paycheck, I'm only making 3,000 yen every three weeks! " Drake said as Misato gave him a smile.

" Don't worry about paying me back, I know the commander is being a tight ass, beside you deserve it after you are risking your life for me and the rest of the human race. " she said and watched at the stunned look on Drake's face grew more and more pronounced with each passing minute and what surprised her was lack of greed on Drake's face as he continued to stare at the fistful of yen, slowly Drake reached up and took the yen from Misato with a slightly shaky hand, " Thanks Misato your the best. " Drake said with a very happy grin and reached out to hug her, Misato mindful of Drake injuries gently hugged him.

 

" Don't forget your cell phone. " Misato said to Drake as he was walking out the front door and watched as Drake came back into the dinning room with a sheepish grin on his face and clipped his new cell phone on the waist band of his paints and decided to make a detour to his room to get changed out of his school uniform as Misato put her purse back in her room then got her open can of beer from the kitchen table and sat down to unwind and watch some tv.

 

As Drake was making his way to his bedroom to get changed when he poked his head into the games room for some unknown reason and there he saw Rei trying out one of the shooter games that he enjoyed from time to time and he had to fight down the urge to talk to her as he kept Misato's words about Rei in mind, he watched her for a few minutes then made his way to his room as he fought the some of lingering hurt from Rei's rejection of him at lunchtime.

Once he got into his room he put the yen and cell phone on his bed and begain to remove his uniform shirt gently, mindful of his taped up ribs then he took off his school shoes and then striped off the uniform pants and then walk over to the dresser in his room and opened up a drawer and looked at the neatly folded black jeans but opted for a pair of black combat paints that he threw on his bed, closed the drawer and opened another drawer and looked over his shirts and picked out a white t-shirt that had a happy face on it with a bullet in the forehead of the happy face with blood leaking down the happy face from the bullet hole and the happy face had X's where it's eyes where and it's mouth was twisted into a grimace with it's tongue sticking out of one corner of it's mouth, once he was dressed in the black combat pants and t-shirt he took a black leather wallet from the corer of his dresser and opened it up and saw that the only thing that was in it was his Nerv ID card, he took the yen and stuffed it into the wallet and smiled at the thought of a full wallet then he put the wallet into the top right front pocket of his black combat pants and then he put his cell phone in the top left front pocket of his pants, then he took his bottle of painkillers and put them in the same pocket that his cell phone was in then he walked over to one corner of his room and got his black scuffed up combat boots and put them on, once he was done with the boots he put of his long black teach coat on and took a moment to looking himself over in the full length mirror in his room and was pleased at the sight of himself and made his way downstairs.

 

Misato was watching a game show on the tv when the doorbell rang she got up and opened the front door and there stood Kensuke, " Hello Misato is Shinji in? " he asked as Drake came down the stairs, " Drake would you tell Shinji that Kensuke is here? " she asked Drake who gave Kensuke a wave and raced back up stairs and knocked on Shinji's door.

" Who is it? " Shinji asked as he got up from his bed where he had been staring at the ceiling and watched as the door to his room opened and Drake stuck his head into his room, " Hey Shinji Kensuke's here and he wants to talk to you. " Drake said to Shinji who made his way downstairs along with Drake, once they got downstairs Drake walked out the front door leaving Shinji, Kensuke and Misato standing in the living room but before any of them could speak down came Asuka and Gwen, " Misato me and Gwen are going over to Hikari's place. " Asuka said and when she saw Kensuke she gave him a cold look, " Hello Gwen. " Kensuke said unphased by the look that Asuka was giving, Gwen looked at Kensuke for a moment, " Hello. " she said as she and Asuka where making there way out the front door and his heart leapt with joy at the fact that Gwen had actually spoken to him, " Ok Asuka, Gwen come here. " Misato called out and went into her bedroom for a moment as Asuka and Gwen stood in the living room with Shinji and Kensuke who Asuka was doing her best to try and ignore when Misato came out of her room and handed Asuka a neat stack of yen, " Go out for dinner or something but be back before midnight. " she said to a very surprised Gwen and even more surprised Asuka who just stood there with money in her hand then the two of them snaped out of there shock and walked out of the house with smiles on there faces.

Once they where gone Misato looked at Shinji and Kensuke, " Shinji why don't you and Kensuke go out for awhile? " she said and gave Shinji some of the yen she still hand in her hand and Shinji shrugged his shoulders it had been awhile since he had gone out on the town so what the hell he thought to himself.

" I'll be back before midnight. " Shinji said and he and Kensuke left the house.

 

Misato smiled to herself as she watched the two boys head off into the city.

* Only one more to go.* Misato thought to herself and made her way upstairs to find Rei and she found Rei in the games room and watched her as she was playing a fighting game and called out to her, " Rei can I speak to you for a moment? " Rei turned around and walked over to Misato, " Yes Misato? " she said and was surprised when Misato gave her the last of her yen, " Rei I think it's time you went out and had some fun. " she said to Rei who gave her a puzzled look, " Misato I don't know how to have fun? " Rei said even though that was not entirely true she had enjoyed playing the games in the house but the concept of what fun was still eluded her.

Misato gave her a motherly look, " Rei a part of having fun is finding new things to do, why don't you try and go shopping? " she suggested to Rei who just looked at her with a blank look on her face for she had everything she needed, a roof over her head, food in her belly and clothing on her back so what more did she need, Misato could see that she was not getting though to Rei and changed her tactics, " Rei a part of growing up is exploring the world around you, you can't just stay at home, go to school and work at Nerv there is more to life then just those things so I want to go out to town and enjoy yourself ok? " Misato said as she reached out and playfully tussled Rei's hair and that earned her a slight confused and some what annoyed look, Rei looked at the yen in her hand and decided to take Misato's advice for she thought that doing so would take her mind off of her troubles, " Very well Misato I will go to town. " Rei said in her dead pan voice and made her way down stairs with Misato tailing behind her, " Be sure to be back before midnight. " she said and was not worried about the lateness of the curfew she had given her and the other children since there was no school tomorrow and when Rei left the house Misato started grinning like a fiend and she walked over to the phone in the kitchen and considered what she was about to do for she knew that she was opening herself up for more hurt and disappointment but she had needs that needed to be taken care of and she quickly dialed a phone number that had been unused by her for a long time.

 

*RING, RING, RING Hello? " a deep male voice said over the phone and Misato shivered in anticipation of what was to come, " Hello Kaji, it's me Misato, I want you to come over to my place, I need to talk to you. "

Misato said into the phone and Kaji blinked in surprise and he looked at the laptop computer in front of him that was displaying a few top secret files that he had lifted from the MAGI and was in the middle of decryping them and his sense of duty warred with the horny bastard that lurked in him and for a few minutes he sat there as the battle raged within him until the better part of his nature won out.

" Where are the children? " he asked as he shut down the laptop, " I sent them out into town for quite a few hours. " Misato said with a hot breathless tone of voice that heated up Kaji's blood, " I'll be there in fifteen minutes! " Kaji said with a throaty purr that caused Misato to shiver in pleasure and he hung up the phone.

Tatsuhiko and Yuta entered there apartment, apartment 401 of the same abandon apartment complex that Rei had once lived in and set there boxes of chemicals that they had gotten though one of there connections in the city down and Ranmaru blew his load over Azusa's face for she was the gang's cum slut/sex slave as Haruka walked over to Yuta and gave her a deep tongue kiss while Kimihito and Sayori where in a 69'er.

" Tatsuhiko said as he opened one of the boxes of chemicals and took out a few of the plastic bottles and brought them over to the makeshift chem lab that he had set up in the apartment as Azusa wiped the cum off of her face with her fingers and licked them clean as Kimihito and Sayori got off of one another and got dressed with a disappointed sigh and once the rest of the gang was cleaned up and dressed they begain to mix up the chemicals under Tatsuhiko's directions and once they where done Tatsuhiko begain the long and dangerous process of cooking the chemicals that filled the apartment with the stench of chemicals.

 

A few hours later they where done and had a sizeable portion speed made up then came the long process of bagging the speed into one gram packets, once that was done Ranmaru and the others took the leftover speed and begain to cook it up while Tatsuhiko and Kimihito where talking about setting up a meeting with one of there contacts in order to deal off most of the freshly made speed as the rest of the gang finished cooking up there hits of speed and shot themselves up, once they where done Tatsuhiko and Yuta took the boxes with the packets of speed down to Yuta's beat up white van and loaded the boxes into it as the others got into the van, once the boxes where loaded Tatsuhiko and Yuta got into the van and made there way into the city.

 

 

****** Somewhere In Tokyo-3 ******

 

Drake was wondering around the city and was unsure on where to go to have some fun when he saw a strange store across the street that had an entryway in the shape of a golden frog's mouth that was open and he felt drawn to the store for some odd reason and made his way across the street and looked up at the sign above the store that read * The Golden Frog * and was about to enter the store when he felt a slight chill race down his spine and quickly looked around and saw that everything was normal, people where walking along the side walk going about there business and looked out at the traffic as he saw a beat up white van make it's way up the street fallowed by a few cars and in the other lane he saw a black car pull over to the side of the road as the rest of the traffic made there way past it.

 

" Damn that was weird. " Drake muttered to himself and shook off the chill and made his way into the store.

 

Once inside the store Drake begain to look around for a few minutes at the store's wares when he saw a wizened old man that stood about four feet nine inches tall that was stooped over with age and his head was capped with gray hair and he had a long Fu-Man-Chu beard that reached down to the middle of his chest and was dressed in a silk kimono that was a shade of forest green with a lighter green obi that had a leaf pattern on it, " Hello young man see anything you like? " the old man said with a dry and some what wispiery voice as he adjusted the glass on his face and Drake looked at the narly looking old man and found that he liked the aged shop owner for some reason, " I'm just having a look around, this is a nice store you have. " Drake said with a smile and watched as the old man gave him a warm smile that put Drake's mind at ease.

The old shop owner looked at Drake for a moment and decided that there was something about the tall gaijin that he liked for some odd reason, " Are you looking for something special for a girlfriend? " he asked with a kindly voice and Drake was unsure on how to answer that question for Rei had been the last thing on his mind, " Well...Um not really. " Drake said with a slightly sheepish grin as if the old man had looked right into his soul and saw his troubles and for some odd reason this disturbed Drake but yet try as he might he found that he could not look away from the old man and watched at the old man gave him a knowing smile.

" Never mind these trinkets, come with me I will show you my special wares. " the old man said and turned to face a younger man and barked in a clear and strong tone of voice for him to watch the store and then made his way to the back of the store with a slow yet graceful pace and Drake found that he was intrigued by the lure of what the old man had called his special wares and fallowed him towards the back of the store.

 

Drake watched as the old man slowly reached up and drew aside a thick bead curtain and gestured for him to enter the dimly lit back room, Drake walked into the back room and was overwhelmed by the sense of age in the back room as he looked at the glass cases and shelves that held many odds and ends that where in the slightly dusty back room and Drake could smell the sent of aged wood and Drake begain to look at the wares in the back room and saw that there was not a lick of dust on them or the cases and shelves that they where in.

" Many of these artifacts are hundreds of years old. " the old man said as he watched Drake look around the back room, Drake was not sure if the old man was giving him a sales pitch or not but the more he looked at the wares in the back room the more and more he was convinced that the wares where indeed very old and out of the corner of his eyes Drake saw a samurai sword that was sitting in a bracket above a scabbard that was made out of teak wood and was inlaid with ivory and the blade gleamed in the dim lighting of the back room.

 

" That sword wielded by a samurai named Gento Jani juring the Togkigowa era it costs 50,000 yen. " the old man said as he took out a slender white pipe and filled it with tobacco, Drake was entranced by the sword and as much as he wanted it he knew that Misato would freak if he brought it home as well as the fact that if he tried to bring it home someone would most likely call the cops on him.

" Well as much as I like the sword it's not what I'm looking for. " Drake said and the old man gave him a curt nod as he lit up his pipe and Drake made his way towards the back of the back room and came to a stop when he saw a huge gold frog that was in the act of croaking, he noticed a hole in it's mouth and knew that if the frog was made of pure gold there was no way in hell he could afford it, " That frog is rumored to bring peace and stability to a household if sandalwood incense is burned in it, it is from the Han dynasty in China it costs 150,000,0000 yen. " the old man said as he took a drag from his pipe, Drake looked at him with a weak smile, " That's far out of my price range. " he said and then turned to look at some of the other wares in the back room and for the next half an hour Drake would find many wondrous things in that back room and every time he would take an interest in something the old man would give him a brief background on the object as well as a legend about the object in question as well as it's price and despite the fact that Drake found many of the wares in the back room to high priced or unsuitable for one reason or another he was having fun with his window shopping.

 

Drake was about to call it quits when he saw something out of the corner of his eye and was drawn to what had caught his eye and saw a very intricately carved jade necklace that had a Yin-Yang on it made of dark jade on one half of the necklace with a small dot of lightly colored jade on it while the other half was made of the same lightly colored jade as the dot on the dark half with a dot of dark colored jade with a butterfly in the middle of the Yin-Yang and the necklace was on a gold chain and the more Drake looked at it the more he could have sworn that there was something magical about the necklace.

" Tell me about this necklace. " Drake said as he continued to look it over and was awed by the craftsmanship that went into making the necklace and the old man walked up beside Drake and looked at the necklace, " I can not remember from what era this necklace is from but I remember the legend about it, it is said that whoever wears this necklace will have peace and tranquility in his or her's heart and soul. " the old man said and Drake's mind was filled with Rei's smiling face and her eyes where filled with joy as she held the necklace in her hands, " How much do you want for it? " Drake asked the old man as he smiled to himself at the mental image of a smiling Rei as his heart raced with excitement.

" It costs 30,000 yen. " the old man said with a happy voice for he had seen the smile on the young gaijin's face and from the look in his eyes he knew that the necklace would be going to some lucky girl.

Drake looked up from the necklace to the old man, " You got yourself a deal. " he said with a shit eating smile on his face and the old man went behind the glass display case and opened a small panel in the back of the display case and took out the necklace and placed it in a thin, long padded black leather hard box and closed up the display case and together Drake and the old man made there way to the front of the store.

 

Drake took out his wallet and counted out what he hoped was 30,000 yen and handed it to the old man behind the cash register and was surprised when the old man gave him his change and then handed the black leather hard box to him, after Drake put his change in his wallet he put the black leather hard box into the middle pocket on his right leg and then bowed towards the old man, " Thank you for your help you have made my day. " he said and the old man bowed, " I am glad to have been able to help you my young friend I hope you will return to my humble store. " the old man said and Drake bid him goodbye and walked out of the store in a good mood.

 

****** Hikari's House ******

 

Hikari was reading a book when her doorbell rang, she got up from her seat and when she opened the door she was surprised to see Gwen and Asuka standing there.

" Hikari are you doing anything right now? " Asuka asked as Hikari invited them into her home, " No Asuka I'm not doing anything why what did you have in mind? " she asked, " Well I thought we'd go out for a bite to eat. " Asuka said and Hikari told her that she still had to make supper for her sisters and Asuka gave her a funny look, " Hikari I'm sure they can make there own supper, besides when was the last time you went out and had some fun with us, we'll make it a girl's night out. " she said to Hikari who begain to protest but after a little arm twisting both Gwen and Asuka managed to convince there friend to come with them, Hikari went and told Kodama that she and Nazumi where on there own for dinner and Kodama told Hikari not to worry that she would make a good dinner for herself and Nazumi.

 

As they where walked around looking for a good place to eat the three girls saw a few boys walking past them and when they went by Asuka and Gwen looked back and leered, " Not bad at all, they have nice asses. " Asuka said with a manic grin to Hikari who blushed slightly, " I wouldn't know. " she said as she thought about Touji's ass that she would love to grab it as he french kissed her, " Oh that's right I forgot you already have your ball and chain. " Gwen cackled and Asuka begain to tease her as well and for the next ten minutes both Asuka and Gwen where teasing Hikari about wedded bliss when they came to a seafood restaurant and they went in it was a laid back kind of restaurant and one of the waitresses lead them over to a table, once they where seated the waitress hand them a menu and waited to take there orders.

" I'll have the smoked eel and oysters. " Hikari said and the waitress wrote down her order, Asuka looked at the menu and after a few minutes she found what she wanted, " I'll have the all you can eat shrimp basket. " she said to the waitress who wrote down her order as well and looked over at Gwen who was having a hard time reading the menu, " I'll have the mussels platter and a salad. " she said after a few minutes or reading the menu, " What would you like to drink? " the waitress asked and Hikari said she would have a tea, Gwen also ordered a tea while Asuka ordered a coke and the waitress left to get there drinks.

 

 

****** A Raman Stand in Tokyo-3 ******

 

Shinji and Kensuke sat down at a raman stand that Shinji knew quite well and smiled when the owner came to take there order, " Hello Henso, how's business?. " Shinji asked the owner who gave Shinji a friendly smile

" Business has been good despite the troubles in the city, so what can I get you? " Henso said but before Shinji could answer there was a loud bang from behind him and Kensuke, they spun around to see what had made the noise as Henso looked past them to see what had made the noise as well and the three of them saw a beat up white van lurch slightly and realized that the van had back fired and watched for a few more seconds as the van made it's way up the street.

 

" I'll have the usual. " Shinji said as he and Kensuke turned back to face Henso as they put the van out of there minds, " Right one extra large shrimp and beef bowl coming right up. " Henso said as he looked over to Kensuke, " And what will you have? " he asked Kensuke and Kensuke thought about his order for a few minutes, " I'll have the extra large beef and vegetable bowl. " he said to Henso and took a liking to the friendly raman stand owner who begain to prepare there orders while humming a tune.

" So what did you want to talk to me about Kensuke? " Shinji asked and watched as Kensuke put a black binder on the counter before him, " This is a little project I had been working on and in order to get it up and running I need technical help as well as resources so I was wondering if you would give this proposal to the commander, it would cut though the red tape of having to go thought the proper channels at Nerv. " Kensuke said with a pleading voice as Shinji took the black binder and begain to leaf though the proposal and when he was done reading it he looked at Kensuke like he was on drugs, " Kensuke are you crazy?, the commander would never commit any of Nerv's time or resources for this kind of a project. " he said as Kensuke continued to give him a pleading look, " Kensuke I know for a fact that the commander would never approve of this kind of project it's beneath him and he would consider it a waste of time and resources. " Shinji added as he tried to get Kensuke to see the folly of taking this proposal to the commander but from the determined look that formed in Kensuke's eyes Shinji knew that his friend was not going to listen to reason.

 

But before Kensuke could say a word Henso put there food down on the counter before them and Shinji and Kensuke ate in silence, once they where done Shinji paid for there meal and Henso wish them well and told them to stop by if they where in the area as Kensuke gathered up the black binder with his proposal.

As they where walking around town Kensuke begain to speak to Shinji about his project and after a long fifteen minutes he managed to convince Shinji to take his proposal to the commander.

 

 

****** Elsewhere In Tokyo-3 ******

 

Rei was walking along the streets of the city unsure as where to go to have some fun when she came to a cross walk that was showing a red hand and waited for the light to change to the green man as she was waiting for the light to change a beat up white van drove by and the moment she laid eyes on it she felt a chill race up her spine then the lights changed and she along with the other pedestrians crossed the street and she put the disturbing white van out of her mind.

 

As she was walking along the street Rei found herself in front of an arcade and was drawn into it for some odd reason, when she entered the arcade Rei stopped and looked around as her senses where assaulted by the sights of the flashing video games and the people that where playing them as well as the almost deafening sounds of the games and the people that where playing them and she stood there for a moment to take all of the sights and sounds in, unsure as to way she was there or what to do as she watched the sea of people go about there business in the arcade when she noticed a small group of girls who where standing in front of a booth where a bored looking young man was sitting and watched with fascination as the girls gave the man at the booth some yen and he handed each of them a plastic box with strange looking coins in it.

 

Rei walked around and watched as a little boy took one of the coins from his plastic box and placed it into a slot at the bottom of one of the video games and begain to play the game and Rei realized that she would need some coins to play the games in the arcade and made her way back to the booth where the young man was sitting, when she got there she had to wait as a young boy was getting some coins from the young man in the booth then it was her turn.

Ramanu was bored out of his mind for he hated his seemingly dead end job as a change man but he needed the money so he stuck to his job despite the boredom when he saw a strange looking girl standing in front of him, he looked her over for a moment and found that she was cute despite the slightly unsure look on her face, " Hello, can I help you? " he said and kicked himself for sounding like a put, " Yes I want some of your coins. " the blue haired red eyed girl said in a flat lifeless voice that took Ramanu by surprise, " Umm sure how much did you want? " he asked and watched as the girl reached into the right front pocket of her school uniform and his eyes went wide at the sight of the thick wad of yen notes in her hand, " You should be careful someone might try to rob you. " Ramanu said with a slight amount of concern for he doubted that the fragile looking girl would be unable to defend herself from a mugger, " They would fail. " the girl said with such a menacing tone of voice that Ramanu recoiled slightly from the freaky looking girl as she took a few yen note from the wad and placed them on the counter before him and tucked away the rest of her yen back into her pocket.

 

Ramnau took up the yen on the counter and saw that there was 10,000 yen there, " Are you sure you want all this in tokens? " he asked, " Yes." Rei said with some annoyance she wanted her tokens as she felt a strange excitement race though her and gave the young man a hard look to make her annoyance clear to him.

Ramanu put the yen into the cash register and handed the strange girl two large plastic boxes of tokens and watched as she made her way deeper into the arcade, * Strange girl * he thought to himself and was relieved that she was gone.

 

 

****** On The Streets Of Tokyo-3 ******

 

Asuka, Gwen and Hikari where walking about the city after they had finished there dinner and Asuka paid for the three of them despite Hikari's protest as she tried to pay for her meal but Asuka would have none of that as she told Hikari that it was her treat and once the matter of the bill was settled they left the seafood restaurant.

" So what do you want to do? " Gwen asked her two friends as they found themselves walking thought a public park and decided to have a seat on the well kept grass, " Well I still have about 35,900 yen left. " Asuka said as they laid back on the grass and enjoyed the warming rays of the sun as they digested there meal, after about fifteen minutes of laying there on the grass Asuka got an idea, " Why don't we head to the mall? " she said and Gwen and Hikari looked at her for a moment, " Sure why not. " Gwen said as she found that she enjoyed shopping much more then she had back home, Hikari looked at Asuka with a worried look on her face, " Asuka I don't have much money on me and I don't want to spend any of your money. " she said and Asuka waved her off, " You can repay me later, so let's go and have some fun! " Asuka said with a smile and the three of them left the park and made there way to the mall.

 

Shinji and Kensuke where walking around when Shinji asked Kensuke what did he want to do and he said to Shinji he was out of ideas, " Let's go to the mall I want to get a some new tapes for my SDAT player. " Shinji said and Kensuke said that was fine by him and then they headed off to the mall.

 

Tatsuhiko and the rest of his gang where waiting in a back alley for there buyer to show up and he glanced at his beat up watch and it read 6:36pm and he looked about the alleyway with some trepidation his buyer was supposed to have been there half an hour ago.

" Fuck it we'll wait here for another hour then we're out of here. " he said to the rest of his gang who where getting edgey as time dragged on, Azusa who was sucking on a smoke looked uptight and Tatsuhiko asked her what her problem was, " Are you sure this is not a set up? " she said as she exhaled a plum of smoke and he gave her a dirty look, " I'm sure this deal is legit, so shut your hole! " he growled at he and made a mental note to teach Azusa a lesson for daring to question his methods and they sat back and waited.

 

 

 

****** The House ******

 

Misato was curled up in Kaji's arms as they laid there in her bed and as she was listing to his heart beat Kaji reached out with his right hand and tilted her head up and he looked at her for a moment before he kissed her deeply as they clung to one another in post orgasmic bliss and when they broke there kiss Misato looked into Kaji's eyes and saw the look of lusty love in them, " Kaji do you think there's any hope for us? " she asked as she reached out and begain to stroke his nipples as Kaji looked into her eyes and she could see the thoughtful look on his face for there relationship in collage had been based on sex and more sex and when the relationship started to become more then just a wild night in bed Misato pushed him away half out of fear of commitment and half in anger at his catting around.

 

Kaji knew that even though things between him and Misato where complicated he had to make a decision to take the risk to have a stable and loving relationship with Misato who he still loved and lusted after and end up getting burned once again or just to keep there some what nebulous relationship the way it was, he looked into Misato's eyes once more and saw the fearful need in her eyes as well as the confusion that her muddled feelings for him had cast her into, " Misato the last time you dumped me I was very hurt- " he said and saw the look of fear in her eyes grow with his words and cuddled her closer to him as he did his best to allay her fears "- and I realize that I was not the most committed man for I had no idea that you might have wanted a more tangible relationship so when you dumped me I thought that all you had wanted from me was sex and nothing more and that you had grown tired of me, now you want something more then just a roll in the hay-" he said as he continued to look deeply into Misato's eyes and saw that she wanted, no needed something more then just sex, " - What I'm trying to say is I need some time to think this though for this is a big step to take and no matter how it turns out between us I will always be your friend and if you need, lover. " he added and Misato could see the truthful look in his loving eyes and knew that he was not messing with her head, " I understand Kaji and I'll give you the time you need but please don't take to long in making your decision for I need more then just a good fucking. " she said as she tried to mask the desperation in her voice that cut right into Kaji's heart like an assassin's blade as he squeezed her tightly and they just laid there in each other's embrace as they dealt with there hidden fears and desires that had cast them both into a churning sea of confusion.

 

 

 

****** The Arcade ******

 

Rei was wondering around the arcade and was trying to figure out what game she should play when she came across a game that looked like the cockpit of some kind of fighter jet and on the outside of the game there was a picture of a jet fighter and below it was a picture of what looked to be the same fighter plane as the first picture but it had legs and two arms with a wicked looking auto-cannon in it's right fist and below that strange picture was a picture of a robot with the same auto-cannon in it's right fist as the second picture of the half fighter jet/robot had and below the robot picture where the words * VF-01 * and Rei looked at the game for a moment more then got into the mock cockpit and set her two boxes of tokens on the floor of the game.

 

Rei looked around the mock cockpit at the bewildering array of levers, buttons and what looked to be a joystick that was in front of her, Rei looked at the joystick and saw that it was molded to fit a human hand and there was a trigger just under the top of the joystick and on top of the joystick where two buttons that where in the shape of an M and an L and off to the left of the joystick where three leavers that had the letters F, G and B on them and beside the leavers where three buttons that where labeled * Veiw-1, View-2, View-3 * Rei looked down and saw two foot peddles at the bottom of the cockpit and gingerly placed her feet on them and decided she would try this strange game, she fished out a few tokens and put them in the slot on the side of the game and when she put in enough token the game let out a bleep and on the video screen there where three pictures that said Easy, Medium and Hard, Rei was unsure as what to do and moved the joystick to the right and watched as each of the three pictures where lit up in order as she moved the joystick to the right a little more and when he had the Easy picture lit up one more she saw the words under the picture that said * To start game pull tigger * and she did and the video screen changed into a simulation of a canyon with her fighter plane hovering over it as it sped forwards, suddenly a strange robot that looked like an oval pod on two backwards bending legs with no arms and two large and evil looking cannons on the top front of the pod and two smaller cannon on the lower front of the pod and begain shooting at and Rei quickly yanked the joystick to the right and let out a startled gasp as the mock cockpit swiveled to the right and the screen was filled with flames as her fighter plane crashed into the canyon wall.

 

Rei blinked in surprise as the cockpit righted it'self and the words * Two more tokens to continue * and there where numbers that started at twenty and begain to count down, Rei put two more of her tokens into the slot on the side of the game and pulled the trigger as the game had directed her to do and she was once more in the canyon and the strange robot was in front of her as an upbeat techno music filled the mock cockpit and she pulled the trigger and the snarling sound of cannon fire filled her ears as it dueled with the laser blast sounds from the pod like robot and the techno music and Rei watched as the pod like robot was drilled full of holes before it exploded in a ball of flames and Rei saw out of the corner of her eyes the numbers in the top left hand corner of the video screen change from 00,00000,0000 to 00,00000,0250 and she smiled to herself as more of the pod like robots appeared on the simulated horizon.

As Rei battled the very increasing number of the pod like robots she pushed the button marked View-2 and watched as the screen changed into a third person perspective and watched as her jet fighter zoomed in and around the pod like robot as the cockpit moved up, down, to the left and right as she moved the joystick around, Rei then reached out and pulled down the lever with the F on it and nothing happened so she tried the leaver marked G and watched as the back of her jet fighter swung down to form to legs as the sides of her fighter swing out and formed two arms with a wicked looking auto-cannon in the hand of the right arm like the picture on the side of the game and she pressed down on the M button on the top of the trigger with her thumb and watched as a missile streaked from the wing tip of her fighter/robot and exploded on one of the pod like robots as four more robots jumped up from behind the fire ball of the robot that had been struck by the missile and he thumbed the LA button and watched as two laser beams shot out from the nose of her jet/robot and burned down one of the pod like robots as the three other pod like robots filled the video screen with laser fire and Rei pulled up hard on the joystick to avoid the laser fire and the three robots leaped up into the air after her.

 

Rei was grinning manically as she pushed down on the joystick and dove into the cluster of three robots while launching missile after missile and took out two of the pod like robots when suddenly the cockpit shook with a strange sound of melting metal as the last pod like robot strafed her jet/robot with laser fire as she tried to pull up but she was to slow and her jet/robot exploded into a ball of fire, Rei looked up at her score was 00,00030,405 after fifteen minutes of play and for some odd reason Rei was not pleased with that score and quickly shoved two more token into the slot on the side of the game and pulled the trigger and picked up where she had left off and quickly reached for the leaver with the B on it and pulled it down and watched as her jet/robot changed into the humanoid robot like the one on the side of the game and landed on the canyon floor in the distance she could a cityscape and she pulled the joystick to the left but did not move as the last robot that had killed her before swooped down in her and in a slight panic Rei pressed down on the foot pedal with her right foot and watched as her robot took a step forwards as the left foot pedal came up and she realized that in order to move her robot she would have to pressed up and down on the foot peddles and did so as she jerked the joystick to the right and narrowly avoided the laser beams fired from the pod like robot as it landed in front of her as she continued move to the right and she pulled the trigger and cut the robot in two with her cannon and for a moment there where no more enemies around and Rei decided to press the button marked View-3 and the screen changed into a top down view of her robot and the battlefield and Rei found that she did not like the view what so ever and pushed the button marked View-1 and changed back into a first person perspective when suddenly a frantic male voice called out from the speakers behind her head, " The enemy has entered the city please help us! " the voice said before there was the sound of laser fire and the frantic voice changed into a short lived scream, Rei begain to pushed down on the foot peddles as fast as she could and was making her way into the mock cityscape where she could see explosions, smoke and flames in the distance.

 

Minutes later Rei found herself in a computer generated city and found that it reminded her of fighting the angels in Tokyo-3 and she put herself in that mind set and begain to hunt for the enemy with a predatory grimace as she made her way deeper into the city.

Rei was hunting around when she saw one of the pod like robots pop up from behind a building and saw that this robot was different from the ones she had encountered in the canyon for it had two pods on the top of it and watched as missiles where launched from the two pods and she barely had time to dive to one side as the missiles screamed past her and blew up the building behind her and she begain to fire off her cannon as she came out of the roll she had placed her robot in and watched as cannon rounds walked up the side of the building that this new enemy was hiding behind and then chew into the new robot and blew it away in a ball of flames when another robot popped up in front of her that looked like the one she had just dispatched save for that the two pods on the top of it where smaller and it launched four ICBM like missiles at her, Rei quickly brought up her cannon and blasted the missiles out of the air and threw her robot into a forward dive and rolled under this robot's legs and came up behind it and drilled it with her cannon, as Rei watched this robot fell to the ground and exploded she saw more of the two missile launching robots and six of the robot she had dealt with in the canyon race towards her with there weapons firing at her and she dove in low roll behind a few building at there blasted to rubble by the enemy weapons fire and when she stood up she launched a flight of missiles from her robot's chest that struck four of for the pod like robots, one of the missile launching robots with the ICBM missiles and three of the non missile launching robots as the one missile launching robot fried off a swarm of missiles at her and Rei pulled up on the joystick as she pressed down both of the foot peddles and jumped into the air as the missiles raced passed her and she fired off a laser burst from her robot's head lasers the incinerated it as she was coming down the last robot was filling the air with laser fire and Rei ripped it in half with a burst from her cannon as she landed back on the ground.

 

Rei felt the hairs rise up on the back of her neck and threw her robot in to roll but was to slow and the cockpit shuddered as her robot's left arm was shot off, Rei came out of the roll and looked behind her to see a lone robot unlike the others, it had an elongated red and black oval body with the same kind of legs as the other robots, there was a long cannon on it's back and it had two arms that ended in wicked looking double barreled cannons that gleamed evilly in the mock sunlight as it stood there hunched over in a crab like fashion.

Rei's eyes narrowed slightly as she stared down her new enemy and knew that this was a fight to the finish, * NOW! * she thought as her finely honed instincts kicked in and she ripped off a blast from her cannon but the enemy pod like robot jumped into the air and begain to sent particle beam blasts back at her from the long cannon on it's back and she dropped to one knee and rolled forwards as the particle beam blasts tore up the street behind her and when she came up to her feet and sent a flock of missiles at the robot who ducked behind a building that took the brunt of her missile strike and exploded into flame as the robot leaped into the air and ripped off a dozen laser blasts from it's arm cannons and Rei was forced to duck behind a building that was rapidly disintegrating under the onslaught and she jumped up over the flaming building and let lose with a few laser blasts that scored a glancing hit on the robot as it fired off a particle beam blast that shook Rei's robot as it sheered off her right leg and when her robot hit the ground it collapsed as the robot sent a laser blast that flew over her head and Rei managed to bring up her cannon and blast one of it's arms off as robot leapt at her intent of pumaling her with it's remaining arm cannon and it dove off to one side as Rei rolled behind a building.

 

Rei knew that she was in the gravest of danger and barely had time to roll out of the way as the robot leapt over the building and landed where she had been a split second ago and as Rei's robot came to a stop she realized that she had the enemy robot cold and fired off everything she had at it as it turned to blast her and she watched with a deep satisfaction as the robot exploded into flames.

Rei watched as the screen changed to the a picture of her robot flashing her a victory sign before she found herself in deep space and in the distance was a battle being waged and she streak towards it as a crisp male voice said that the enemy had broken though there lines in sector G-15, when Rei got to the battle zone she saw jet/robots like her's mixing it up with the same kind of robots that she had fought before and a new enemy, a jet like fighter without wings and three laser cannons in it's nose and was launching missiles from it's sides, Rei watched as four jet/robots like her's where blasted to bits by a few of the new enemies and she wasted no time in diving into the fray and got behind one of the enemy jets and blasted it with a pair of missiles from under her wings and watched as the enemy craft blossomed into a fireball and she managed to pull her jet up into a steep climb as three of the enemy jets dove in on her, Rei felt her jet/robot shudder as one enemy fighter craft had come up behind her and blasted off one of her tail wings and Rei reached up and pulled down on the leaver marked G and fired the rockets in her jet/robot's feet to slow her down and when the enemy fighter that had been tailing her shot past her she waxed it with a cannon burst then switched back in jet mode and begain to hunt for the enemy.

 

Fifteen minutes later Rei died as a swarm of enemy robots and fighter craft had surrounded her and blew her away but not before she had taken out one of the crab like robots that she had fought earlier, Rei let out a sigh and looked up at her score and saw that it was 01,00009,765 and was getting out of the mock cockpit with her boxes of tokens when there was a loud thunk from the side of the game and Rei saw that there was another box of tokens sitting in a wide, deep slot below the two slots where she had placed her tokens into to play the game, Rei blinked in wonderment and it took her a few seconds to realize that she had won the new box of tokens from the game for getting such a high score.

Rei took the box of tokens and put it on top of her two boxes of tokens and wondered around the arcade in search of more games to play.

****** The Tokyo-3 Mall ******

 

Asuka, Hikari and Gwen wondering about the mall when they came across a clothing store and the three girls grained and made there way into the store.

 

Asuka, Gwen and Hikari picked out a few new outfits and made there way to the store's changing rooms and shucked out of there clothes and once they where dressed in there new outfits they left the changing rooms so that they could look themselves over in the mirror on the front of the changing room doors as well as to get the opinions of there friends over there chosce of outfits, " What do you think? " Hikari asked Asuka and Gwen as she spun around in a powder blues dress with a low neck line that gave a daring yet tasteful view of her cleavage, " That looks good on you Hikari, I bet when your boyfriend sees you in that dress he'll have a heart attack. " Asuka said as she stood before Hikari in a red sun dress with white flowers on it and Gwen who was dressed in a smokey gray dress similar to Hikari's dress agreed with Asuka assessment of Hikari's outfit and the girls talked for a few minutes before they went back into the changing rooms to try on the out outfits they had picked out.

 

Shinji and Kensuke where walking about the mall while they where talking about stuff that meant nothing, Shinji had a bag in his hand that held three SDAT tapes of classical music while Kensuke's bag held a fifty stack of re-writeable CD's and the two boys decided to wonder around the mall that was three city blocks long and was teaming with an uncountable amount of people that where going about there business and after a half an hour or so of window shopping they decided to make there way to the food court for a bite to eat and something to drink.

 

Hikari Asuka and Gwen where walking around the mall when they decided to grab a bite to eat at the food court when the three of them saw Shinji and Kensuke sitting off aways in the busy food court and ignored them as they went to one of the stalls that was selling food to the hungry shoppers in the mall and used the last of Asuka's yen to buy themselves a few light snacks and a few drinks, once they had there food and drinks the three of them found that the only open seats where at the table where Shinji and Kensuke where sitting at and slowly made there way over to the table that the boys where sitting at.

 

Shinji and Kensuke where talking to each other when out of the corner of there eyes they saw Asuka, Gwen and Hikari walk over to there table and sit down, " Hmm hello it's nice to see you. " Kensuke said as he gave the three girls a slight smile for he was not to pleased that they had come to sit at the table that he and Shinji where sitting at and interrupted there discussion that they where having but seeing Gwen once more made things alright in his books, " What do you want stooge? " Asuka snaped in a slightly huffy tone of voice at Kensuke who gave her a smirk, " Nothing from you that's for sure. " he said as Asuka was eating from her tray of food and Shinji could see that Asuka was getting annoyed at Kensuke and decided to get Asuka's mind off of Kensuke so that they would avoid the name calling and arguments that the two of them usually got into, " So Asuka what did you get? " he asked as he looked at Asuka and saw that she was brad and slightly annoyed which was not a good combination as he had found out from first hand experience.

 

Asuka looked at Shinji and saw that he was trying to be friendly towards her and for some reason this annoyed her but yet in the back of her mind she knew that there was no reason to be annoyed with Shinji.

" Girl's stuff. " she said and watched as Shinji nodded his head and went back to eating his food as Kensuke turned his attention towards Gwen and Hikari just sat there and watched them as they ate from there trays of food.

 

Gwen looked at Kensuke and found that he was not unpleasant to look at and from the way he was sitting in his seat she saw that he was fairly laid back and his eyes where warm and friendly, Gwen begain to reconsider what little she knew about Kensuke and after a few minutes of deep thought she decided to try and be a little more friendly towards him.

 

" So what do you have in your bag? " she asked Kensuke who was surprised that Gwen was actually speaking to him, " Mm just a stack of re-writeable CD's. " he said and gave Gwen a smile as Asuka and Hikari watched with dismay for they where sure that Gwen was going to get herself into some kind of trouble with Kensuke but for some reason neither of them could say a thing to brake up the conversation between Gwen and Kensuke, " So what do you use the CD's for? " Gwen asked as her lack of understanding about technology was made clear to everyone sitting at the table.

 

Kensuke knew that he now had a chance to impress Gwen with his technical knowledge as he continued to smile, " Well Gwen a CD can be used to store just about any kind of information, everything from computer data to games to music and pictures. " he said with a savvy tone of voice that caused Asuka and Hikari to feel embrassment at having to be seen with such a geek, Shinji just sat at the table and ate his food having grown use to his friend's geekness a long time ago and he felt that even though Kensuke was probablely shooting himself in the foot with his display of technical savvy in they way he was talking to Gwen but he hoped that Kensuke would win Gwen over for he thought that the two of them would make a nice couple.

Gwen just sat there having been lost in the first few minutes of Kensuke's technobable and she cut him off as she tried and failed to understand the technical terms that Kensuke was throwing about the table.

" Kensuke I have no idea of what you are talking about. " she said to Kensuke who realized that he had most likely screwed up his chance of impressing Gwen by spouting off some of the more arcane technical terms that most people could not understand and it came a cold shock to him when he realized that outside of military or computer matters he was unable to relate to anyone else since he was so focused on his favorite hobbies to the exclusion of all else and he shut his mouth and waited for Gwen to brush him off for being the geek that he was.

 

Gwen gave Kensuke a slight smile that kept the flame of hope burning in his heart as she spoke to him.

" I have no understanding of computers, to tell the truth they frighten me. " Gwen said as she blushed slightly at her admission and Kensuke saw an opportunity to get into Gwen's good books by making himself indispensable to her, " Well Gwen there's nothing to be afraid of when it comes to computers, once you get a basic understanding about them it becomes easer to understand and use them, if there's something you don't understand about a computer I'll show the basics of computers. " Kensuke said with a warm smile and just about leapt for joy when Gwen thanked him for his offer and said that she might take him up on his offer and he know from her tone of voice and the slightly sheepish look in her coco colored eyes that she meant what she had said to him and was not just saying that to politely brush him off.

 

Asuka and Hikari could see that Gwen was starting to take an interest in Kensuke as the two of them begain to talk about random topics and for some reason neither of them had the heart to interrupted the two of them and they sat there and ate there meals as Gwen and Kensuke talked up a storm, Shinji sat there lost in his deep thoughts as he ate his meal and ever so often he would sneak a glance at Asuka and try as he might he could not get her out of his mind.

 

 

****** The Arcade ******

 

Rei found herself standing in front of a large booth that had an array of things hanging on it's walls and Rei found her attention drawn to a super deformed (SD) cabbit (cat/rabbit) that was hanging on the wall in a plastic bag and saw that it had long floppy ears and big blue eyes, with light brown fur and she was possessed by the desire to own the cabbit, " How many tokens for the cabbit? " she asked the man behind the counter of the booth as she held up her boxes of tokens for him to see.

" Well little girl you need nine tickets for it. " the man said to her and Rei found herself slightly miffed at being called a little girl, " Where can I get the tickets? " she said in a slightly cold tone of voice and the man pointed to a strange looking game, " You can get some tickets from that game or some of the other games over there. " he said and Rei turned and walked towards the game that he had pointed at.

 

When Rei got to the game that had been pointed out to her by the man in the booth she saw that there was a large padded mallet that was chained to the side of the game and that there where twelve holes set into the top of the game and Rei looked at it and was trying to figure out the game for a few minutes, then she put down her boxes of tokens and took a few of them out and put them into the slot in the base of the game and watched as a clock set into the top of the game begain to count down as plastic moles popped up at random from the holes into the top of the game and it to Rei a few seconds to realize that the object of the game was to hit the moles with the mallet before time ran out and she picked up the mallet and waited for one of the moles to pop up from it's hole.

WAC!..WACK!...WACK!

Rei had smashed the mallet down a few times and missed the moles as they popped in and out of there holes at an increasing speed then a bell rang and Rei looked up and saw that the timer on the game had ran out.

She put a few more tokens into the game and got ready to clobber the plastic moles with a grim and determined look on her face, WACK!... WHAM!.....WACK!....SMASH!....WACK!.....SMASH!.....WHAM!

Time and again Rei brought the mallet crashing down on the moles as they popped into and out of there holes at random and when the time ran out Rei saw two brightly colored tickets pop out of a slot just above the slot where she had placed the tokens to play the game, she took the two tickets out of the slot and looked at them for a moment and realized that if she want more tickets she would have to do better in the game if she was to get the tickets she needed to get the cabbit.

* I will not fail! * Rei thought to herself as she placed more tokens into the game and got ready with the mallet and there was a feral grin on her face, even though she did not know it at the moment because she was so intent on winning more tickets from the game that she was enjoying herself and then the moles begain to pop up from there holes like mushrooms.

 

WACK!...WHAM!....CRASH!.....SMASH!....BAM!....POW!.....SMASH!.... ....WACK!.......POW!.....WHAM!....CRASH!......SMASH!.......WACK!.......WHAM !..........POW!...........CRASH!.........SMASH!.........WACK!......

POW!........WHAM!......WACK!........BAM!.........CRASH!.......BAM !.......SMASH!.......WACK!.......POW!

 

Rei brought the mallet crashing down on the moles with such fury that her lips where drawn back in a snarl as she clobbered the moles with a such speed that a small crowed had gathered around her to watch as she beat the ever living daylights out of the game, most of the kids that had gathered around Rei where young boys and girls that where about five to seven years old who had come to the arcade with there older bothers and sisters who where playing some of the more advanced games in the arcade, for the younger kids had considered the game that Rei was playing to be one of the hardest games to play, when the timer ran out a few minutes later Rei looked up and saw that her score was 867 and that there was a long link of tickets sticking out of the slot in the game, Rei took the link of tickets out of the slot and saw that there was over fifty tickets in the link then she noticed the small gathering of kids around her who where looking at her like she was there idol and she felt disturbed by there worshiping like looks, Rei quickly gathered up her tokens and walked past the little children who where clamoring to try and beat her score in the game she had just finished playing as she wiped the sweat from her forehead, when she reached the booth she gave the man the tickets she needed for the SD cabbit and held it under her arm as she looked at the other prizes that where hanging on the walls of the booth and saw a nice looking black purse and asked the man how many tickets it cost.

" The purse is twenty tickets. " the man said with a slight smile for he had seen the way the strange blue haired, red eyed girl had been playing the * wack a mole * game and was surprised by the intestacy in which the girl had played the game and watched as the girl tore twenty tickets from the long strip of tickets she had and took them from her and handed her the black purse.

 

Rei slung the purse over her right shoulder when she stomach let out a growl and she realized that it was time to eat but she did not see any food vendors in the arcade and was walking towards the front doors of the arcade when the man she had gotten the tokens from called out after her, " Hey you can't leave with those! " and Rei turned around and gave him a look that said * These are mine and I'm going to take them with me* and said as much to the young man she had gotten the tokens from.

" You have to trade your tokens and tickets in for money. " he said to Rei who was giving him a distrusting look, " Very well. " she said to him and walked over to the counter where she had gotten the tokens from and handed him the boxes of tokens and her tickets and found that she had made 15,000 yen more then she had started out with minus the tokens she had used in the games, once she had her yen Rei added it to the wad of yen she had been carrying around and placed it into her new purse and walked out of the arcade and begain to look for a place to spend her yen as well as to get something to eat.

 

 

****** On The Streets Of Tokyo-3 ******

 

Drake was walking down the street and he could not sake the feeling that something was wrong and he stopped and looked around himself and saw that everything looked normal and begain to walk a little faster as the hairs on the back of his neck stood on end.

 

Drake stopped and was looking in a store window when he saw a reflection of the street behind him and his eyes where drawn to a black car that had pulled off to the side of the road for there was something familiar about the car and the longer he looked at it in the window of the store he was standing in front of the more stronger the feeling of unease that was plaguing him became, Drake decided to try something and he begain to walk along the sidewalk while keeping his eyes on the storefront windows that acted like mirrors and saw the black car slowly pull out from where it was parked and make it's way up the street behind him and he walked a little ways and then came to a stop in front of another store and watched from the window as the black car pulled over to the side of the road.

* SHIT! * Drake thought as he realized that he was being fallowed and his mind begain to race as he stood there and wondered what the hell to do about this situation and he used the window to get a better looked at the black car and saw that there where five men in the car dressed in black suits and sunglasses as a shiver raced up his spine for Drake knew that he was in deep shit.

* Ok stay calm and think this though * Drake thought to himself as he begain to walk along the sidewalk and saw the black car begain to fallow him from the store front windows as his heart begain to race when he came up with an idea and quickly made his way up the street until he came to a restaurant and quickly ducked into it and found himself a table in the very back of the restaurant, once he was seated a waitress came up to him and gave him a menu and asked if he wanted something to drink and he ordered a cup of coffee as he begain to think of a way to get himself out of the deep shit he found himself in as well as wonder who was tailing him and why.

 

****** The Tokyo-3 Mall ******

 

Rei was making her way to the food court of the mall and saw Asuka, Shinji, Hikari, Gwen and Kensuke sitting at a table and she saw that there was one open seat at there table as she begain to order something to eat from one of the vendors in the food court, once she had her food and a drink Rei looked around for another table where she could be alone with her meal and found one but for some odd reason that she could not understand she was drawn to the table where the others where and walked over to the table.

 

Asuka, and Hikari where talking to each other as Gwen and Kensuke where talking between themselves while Shinji was eating his food when out of the corner of there eyes they saw Rei walking towards them and they all looked up at her as she came to a stop in front of there table, " May I sit here? " Rei asked in a wispier of a voice as the other children just sat there looking at her in surprise for she was looking like a normal person with her purse over her one shoulder and the SD cabbit tucked under her right arm even though she still had her trade mark deadpan look on her face, " Sure Rei have a seat. " Shinji said with a faint smile and watched as Rei put her tray of food down in front of the open seat at there table then put the SD cabbit down on the floor beside her seat and sat down and begain to eat, the others just sat there watching Rei from a few minutes and wondered if this person that was sitting at there table was really Rei for never before had Rei joined them in anything before then Kensuke spoke, " So what brings you here Rei? " he asked and Rei stopped eating for a moment and looked at him with her piercing red eyes, " I was hungry so I thought I would come here for a bite to eat and check out this mall that I have heard so much about it. " she said and was puzzled by the flabbergasted looks on the other's faces, Shinji, looked at Asuka, who looked at Hikari who looked at Gwen who looked at Kensuke and they all looked at Rei who was giving them a weary look because of the looks that she was getting from them and they where shocked for that was the most they had ever heard Rei say and they begain to wonder in the back of there minds if the angels had kidnapped the real Rei and left this impostor in her place for Rei was so act out of her normally quiet, withdrawn and dispassionate self.

 

After a few awkward minutes Shinji spoke to Rei, " So where did you get the stuffy from? " he asked as he pointed to the SD cabbit on the floor and was shocked along with the rest of the children at the table as Rei told them about her adventures in the arcade in between bites of her meal and when she was done talking Asuka, Gwen, Shinji, Kensuke and Hikari looked at Rei for a moment then begain to talk to her as if she was just a normal girl as they begain to eat there own meals and shoot the shit as if they where old friends who where enjoying a day out on the town.

 

 

****** A Restaurant In Tokyo-3 ******

 

Drake was nursing his third coffee as he did his best to keep an eye on the black car that was parked across the street from the restaurant thought the front window and he realized that he could not hide out forever in the restaurant because sooner or later the men in the black car would come into the restaurant so he thought then he begain to kick himself for not thinking about calling Misato sooner as he reached for his cell phone and hit the speed dial button for the house, " Hello? " Misato's voice said from his cell phone,

" Misato it's me Drake I'm in some deep shit, I'm being fallowed by a few guys in a black car. " he said into the cell phone and heard Misato take a deep breath when she heard his words, " Drake where are you are you hurt? " Misato said in a crisp and to point voice that had a hint of fear in it, " I'm fine and I'm in some restaurant and...Oh shit!, got to go! " Drake said into his cell phone as he saw four of the five guys get out of the black car and quickly make there way into the restaurant, " DRAKE WAIT! DO... " Drake hung up his cell phone and ran into the kitchen area of the restaurant as the four men gave chase to him and he shoved the cooks out of his way as he raced for the back door of the restaurant as the four guys where hot on his heels as the cooks begain to utter curses at him and the four men who where pushing past them and when Drake made his way though the back door he found himself in a litter stria alleyway and begain to run for his life as the four guys came out of the restaurant and saw Drake run around the corner of the alleyway

" HOLD IT! " one of the men called out as they begain to give chase to Drake who knew that if he stopped he was as good as dead or so he thought and kept on running as he heard the foot falls of the men in black behind him.

 

Drake was sweating buckets as he looked around the all way that lead to a four way junction and knew that his pursuers would be around the corner that he had ducked around in a few seconds and quickly dove behind a bunch of boxes beside a dumpster as his ribs ached from the exertion of his running and quickly hid himself in the trash that was around the boxes and the dumps as the four men came around the corner and came to a stop in front of his hiding place, " You go that way and you two go that way. " one of the men in black said as he and the others reached under there coats and pulled out wicked looking black handguns, Drake watched from his hiding place as three of the four men raced down the alleyway while the one man stood there with his back towards him, Drake knew that it would only be a matter of time before the one man in the black suit found him and he looked for anything he could use as a weapon for he knew that he was in the fight of his life and saw that there was a long lead pipe by where he was hiding and quickly snatched it up and begain to creep up behind the man who was holding a nasty looking handgun and Drake could feel a surge of excited fear race though his body as he made his way closer to the man.

Drake had a feral snarl on his face as he draw back to swing the lead pipe at the back of the man's head as the man slowly turned towards Drake and saw something out of the corner of his eyes and was quickly bringing up his gun when Drake brought the lead pipe crashing down on the side of the man's head knocking him to the grimey ground of the alleyway as the man pulled the trigger of his handgun but due to the clobbering he had received from Drake his round missed Drake by a mere inch and ripped a hole in Drake trenchcoat.

 

Drake smashed the pipe down on the man's right hand that held his handgun and there was a loud snapping sound as he broke the man's first from the force of the blow from his pipe that sent the handgun skittering across the alleyway and they both dived for the handgun luckily for Drake he was faster then the man grabbed up the handgun and pointed it at the man he had just beaten but before he could shoot the three other men came racing back up the alleyway and they had the handguns out and pointed at Drake who knew that if he tried to shoot them he would be shot dead and he turn and ran for his life as two of the three men gave chase while the third man tended to his wounded comrade.

When Drake reached the main street he quickly look left and right as the people on the side walk begain to back away from him in fear when they saw that he was armed and Drake raced across the busy street as the two man came out of the alleyway and saw him race across the street into another alleyway, one of the two men raced across the street as the other man pulled out a cell phone and called for reenforcement before he ran off after his comrade.

 

****** The House *****

 

Misato quickly dallied the other children's cell phones, " Hello? " four voices said, " Where are you? " she asked, " Where at the mall Misato why is there an angel attacking? " Shinji said with a slightly panicked tone of voice, " No Shinji there's no angel, Drake's in trouble, I want you and the others to stay where you are I'm going to send Kaji into the mini-van/suv to pick you all up so stay together and keep an eye out for trouble." she said into the probable phone as she quickly got dressed, once she and Kaji where dressed, Misato gave Kaji the keys to the mini-van/suv then she put on her holster and loaded her 9mm pistol and tucked it into the holster " Ok Kaji is on his way so sit tight. " Misato said and then hung up the phone and made her way to her sports car as fear ate away at her mind like a strong acid, As she was making her way into the city she pulled out her cell phone and called Section 2 to find out where Drake was and she vowed that if they told her that they had no idea where he was she would make someone pay for not doing there job to keep Drake safe.

 

 

****** Gendo's Office ******

 

" I see keep me informed as to the where about of the fourth child " Gendo said into the speaker phone before he hung up the phone.

" It seems like fourth child is a survivor type after all. " Fuyutsuki said as he moved his rook up half way across the chess board and took Gendo's knight, " Indeed he is, at lest Section 2 is getting a workout. " Gendo said as he took Fuyutsuki's rook with his queen and Fuyutsuki took a moment to study the board,

" Are you sure this is a wise idea to let this go on as it is? " he said to Gendo as he moved his bishop

" What if the fourth child is injured or killed? " he added as Gendo took a moment to study board as well

" Then we will find a replacement for him. " Gendo said in a cold tone of voice as he moved his queen once more and put Fuyutsuki into checkmate, Fuyutsuki looked at his former student for a moment as he could see that if the fourth child did die that Gendo would treat it as nothing more then a minor inconvenient

The two men sat there for a moment then Fuyutsuki excused himself and left Gendo's office and the commander just sat there for a moment lost in his thoughts then he reached out to the speaker phone and dialed the number for Section 2 communications and order a report on the fourth child and listened intently as communications officer relayed the reports from the Section 2 officers in the field to him.

 

 

****** In An Alleyway In Tokyo-3 ******

 

Tatsuhiko was talking with his yakusa(Don't know how to spell the word for a japanese mob family) contact as his gang watched the yakusa man and his bodyguards/street fighters about the price he wanted for the speed he had when suddenly the air was spilt by the wailing of police sirens and the gangs looked at each other for a moment, thinking that they had been set up by the other gang and started to reach for there weapons when two police cars raced passed the alleyway that there where in.

Tatsuhiko realized that the situation was spiraling out of control between his gang and the yaks gang and turned his head and told his gang to hold off and quickly turned to face the yakusa contact.

" Hey there's no need for a fight you know that I would not set you up and I know that you would not set us up so let's make deal. " he said with a friendly smile and the yakusa contact looked at him and his gang for a moment then told the other members of his gang to relax then turned to face Tatsuhiko and asked him what he wanted for the drugs as both sides wanted nothing more then to finish the deal and get the hell out of the alleyway for the near run in with the police had spooked both of the gangs.

Fifteen minutes later Tatsuhiko sold the hundred pounds of speed for ten million yen, roughly ten thousand dolors canadian once the money and drugs traded hands the two gangs made there way back to there hideouts

 

 

****** In Another Alleyway ******

 

As Drake was running down an alleyway he heard sirens off in the distance and considered going to the police but his experiences with the local police back in Canada soured that idea for he was sure that the japanese police where as corrupt as the police back home and he was sure that since he was a foreigner the japanese police would come down hard on him even if he ditched the stolen handgun.

* I have got to get off the streets. * Drake thought to himself as he rounded a coroner and came to halt as he found himself in a dead end alley, " SHIT! " Drake cursed as the pain of his broken and fractured ribs sent bolts of agony though out his body for he had been pushing himself hard into order to escape his pursuers and quickly looked around for a place to hide since he could not go back the way he came and saw that the alleyway he was in was bare of any rubbish to hide himself in so Drake got ready for a fire fight as he pointed the handgun down alleyway as he heard the sounds of foot falls coming up to where he was standing, Drake knew that there where more then just the four men that had chased him out of the restaurant that where coming up the alleyway for he had run into more of the black suited men as he tried to ditch the four men that had been chasing him and as a result of his near fatal ( or so he thought) run in's with the black suited men he had been forced to lead the twelve black suited men on a merry chase though the streets of Tokyo-3,causing a minor panic in the people that saw him running for his life with a drawn handgun as the twelve men pursued him.

" Ok you fuckers you may get me but I'm taking as many of you out as I can! " Drake snarled to himself as he stood there waiting for the men to show up when he saw something out of the corner of his eyes and looked to his right and saw that there was a manhole set into the alleyway he was in and Drake knew that it was his only chance of escape, Drake tucked the handgun into the waistband of his black combat pants and raced over to the manhole and saw that there was two holes set into the manhole cover for pry bars so that the manhole could be removed and since Drake had no pry bar he jammed his fingers into the holes with both of his hands and begain to try and pull the manhole cover off.

 

" COME ON YOU FUCKING WHORE, MOVE! " Drake grunted as he strained every muscle in his aching body to dislodge the manhole cover as the sounds of the approaching men in black echoed louder and louder with each passing second, Drake let out a groan as he pulled with all of his might and with a surge of fear induced adrenalin Drake managed to lift the manhole cover out of it's place and shoved it aside and nearly vomited at the horrendous stench that wafted up from the manhole and Drake realized that he was looking down into a sewer pipe.

Drake didn't debate the pro's and con's of using the sewer as an escape route as the twelve men came around the corner with there weapons drawn and Drake jumped down into the sewer and let out a gasp of pain as he landed into the knee deep shit and piss that soaked his feet and legs as well as the lower part of his trenchcoats, Drake quickly looked up and saw the men in black standing around the manhole with there weapons pointed at him, " FUCK OFF! " Drake yelled as he pulled his handgun from the waistband of his pants and snapped off two shots that nearly deafened him as they echoed though out the sewer, his first shot hit the underside of the manhole opening and ricochetted in the sewer pipe and nearly hit him, his second shot went though the open manhole and Drake saw one of the men in black fall to the ground as the rest of the men in black backed off from the open manhole, Drake then turned and ran down the sewer line as his body screamed in agony from the hell it was being put though, a little way down the sewer line Drake got out of the knee deep shit and piss and started to walk along the ledge that the sewer maintenance workers used to make there way though the sewer and Drake leaned against the wall of the sewer pipe and nearly gaged at the hellish stench of human waste, he then pulled out the bottle of painkillers from pants pocket after tucking his handgun into the waistband of his pants and opened the bottle and scarfed down two of the painkillers.

 

After ten minutes or so of resting Drake begain to make his way down the sewer line he had tried to use his cell phone but the thick walls of the sewer pipe had blocked out his signal so Drake knew that he was on his own thankfully the men in black had not chosen to come down after him and he wondered around the sewer system for about half an hour before he decided to try and get out of the sewer.

Drake climbed up a ladder and was pushing on a manhole cover and he found that he could not move it

" God damn it! " Drake snarled as he gave up on trying to move the manhole cover and climbed back down the ladder and begain to wonder around aimlessly in the sewer lines looking for a way out, after half an hour of wondering around and trying to move manhole covers Drake came to a stop as he thought he heard something and strained to listen for the sounds he heard and after a few minutes of listing he heard voices that where coming closer to him.

" Shit! " Drake said as he pulled out the handgun from the waistband of his pants and pointed it towards the approaching voices for he was sure that the men in black where looking for him and since his japanese was spotty at best he could only make out a few of the words he had heard and waited then suddenly two men in orange jump suits and hard hats walked around the corner of the sewer line and came to a halt as they saw a gaijin kid standing there pointing a nasty looking handgun at them, Drake saw the two men's eyes grow wide with fear but kept the gun trained on them, " Ok how do I get out of here? " he asked the maintenance workers who just stood there looking at him in shock, " God damn it answer me! " Drake snarled for he was wet, tried, sore and hungry and was not in the best of moods and he had to remind himself that the two men before him where harmless or so he thought because of the fearful looks on there faces and it took all of his willpower not to shoot one of them just because he was in such a pissy mood, Drake tucked the handgun back into the waistband of his pants, " Now how do I get out of here? " Drake asked once more as he did his level best to reign in his growing anger as well as the lingering fear he felt after his encounter with the men in black.

 

" Umm there's an open manhole fifty feet back that way. " one of the maintenance workers said after he saw that the crazy looking gaijin kid was not going to shoot him or his co-worker and pointed back down the sewer line that they had come down and stepped aside as Drake walked past them.

Once Drake was back on the streets he knew that he had to get somewhere safe and begain to look for an entryway into Nerv, as he was walking along the sidewalk he could feel the looks that people where giving him as they got a wiff of him and did his best to ignore them as he held his trenchcoat shut so they would not see the handgun he was carrying then he reached for his cell phone and tried to dial Misato's cell phone but saw that his cell phone was not working for some reason and cursed to himself and kept on walking.

Ten minutes later he found an entry point to Nerv and took out his Nerv ID card and swiped it though the card reader on the side of the huge steel door and watched as the door opened and made his way inside the entry point, once he was inside and the door closed behind him he begain to make his way to the heart of Nerv where he hoped he would be able to get a hold of Misato and let her know that he was safe.

As Drake made his way into Nerv he saw a few workers who where going about there tasks and felt himself growing even more pissed off with the looks that they where giving him but ignored them and they went back to there jobs not wanting to know why there was a kid walking though Nerv, namely because of the open view of the handgun that he was giving them as well as the tried and pissed off look on his face and Drake buttoned up his trenchcoats due to the chill in his bones.

 

" Drake Frost? " A man said to Drake as he rounded a corner and saw that there where three men standing at a security checkpoint and Drake looked at them and saw them resting there hands on the butts of there handguns, " Ya that's me so what the fuck do you want? " he said as he felt his exasperation become more pronounced " The commander wants to see you...now! " one of the security guards said and Drake gave him a dirty look

" Look dick weed I have had a shitty day, I'll see the commander once I get cleaned up and some food in my guts ok? " Drake said with a slight snarl in his voice and watched as the security guard's faces hardened.

" Look here you little shit the commander wants to see you now, if you don't come quietly with us we will drag you down to see the commander do you understand me! " one of the security guards said with a hard tone of voice that made it clear to Drake that these guys where not going to take any shit from him and for a moment he considered drawing his handgun and telling them to fuck the hell off but he realized that he would most likely get shot if he tried that.

" Fine let's go see the commander! " Drake said with a snarl in his voice and let the security guard that had spoken to him lead the way to the commander's office.

 

Once Drake and the security guard reach the commander's office the security guard opened the door and led Drake into the commander's office and Drake saw that the commander was sitting at his desk with his gloved hands folded over his lower face and that the sub commander was standing beside him.

Gendo scowled slightly at the ripe smell that was emanating from Drake and gave him a hard look for a moment.

" Pilot Frost do you know why you are here for? " he asked Drake who was doing his best to keep a blank face, Drake knew from the tone of the commander's voice that the commander was not in a good mood, " No I don't know, look commander I have had a rough day, some goons where following me and I had to bust some ass to save my skin. " Drake said as he continued to look into the tinted lenses of the commander's glasses and wondered what game the commander was playing at.

" Yes I know all about your run in with the men in black, they work for me, there job is to make sure that you and the other children as well as key members of Nerv are safe from external threats, you actions are unforgivable. " Gendo said with a hard edge to his voice and watched as Drake gave him a surprised look.

" You have got to be shiting me. " Drake said as he digested the news that the men in black where on the same team as him but before he could say a thing the commander spoke, " Section 2 is there to ensure your safety you should not have attacked them, two of our agents are in the infirmary, one has a concussion and a broken wrist and the other agent is recovering from a gunshot wound to the head. " Gendo said as he let his displeasure seep into his voice and Drake felt his anger grow at the commander's words.

" How the fuck was I suppose to know that they work for us, all I knew was that I was being fallowed and I did what I thought was necessary to ensure my safety! " Drake said a pissed off tone of voice for he was not going to stand there and take the blame for this mess, " I do- " Gendo was starting to say but was cut off by Drake, " If you agents had identified themselves I would not have to get midevil on there asses!, besides if they could be taken out by me I don't think there any good at keeping me or anyone else safe for fuck sakes!" Drake said as he took a step forwards towards the commander as he let his anger fill his voice.

Gendo looked at Drake and was starting to get annoyed with the attitude and decided it was high time to put Drake in his place.

 

" Pilot Frost you underestimate the capabilities of Section 2 it is though my orders that they exercised restraint if I not ordered them not to shoot you they would have shot you where you stood. " Gendo said with menace in his voice that did little to phase Drake, " Right I'm so sure and you would have them shoot one of your pilots?, I don't think so. " Drake said with a pissed off tone in his voice at the mind game that the commander was trying to play with him.

Gendo was starting to become more then annoyed with Drake's flippant attitude, " You are mistaken if you think that the Section 2 agents would have shot to kill, they would have shot to disable you, also you overestimate your value to me, you are a pilot and as such you are easily replaceable. " Gendo said with such an icy cold voice that Drake knew he had put his foot in his mouth by coming off with an attitude towards the commander and stood there waiting for a the commander to finish speaking to him and all the while he was mentally calling the commander every dirty name he could think of half out annoyance at the shit ass treatment he was getting from him and half out of fear for Drake knew from the commander's words and the tone of his voice that the commander would terminate his status as a pilot at the end of a gun if he so wanted to.

 

Gendo could see the fearful look in Drake's eyes and knew that he had him cold, " You will turn over the handgun you have taken from one of the Section 2 agents. " he said in his most commanding voice, Drake licked his lips and gulped once before he worked up the nerve to speak to the commander, " No can do, after all you said so yourself that there are threats to me and the other pilots so maybe it would be a good idea for me to keep this handgun and maybe it's a good idea for the other pilots to have a handgun of there own. " Drake said with a slightly wilted smirk and looked at the commander who just sat there looking at him and the look that he was getting from the commander made his skin crawl.

" There is no direct threat to you or the other pilots at this point in time and Section 2 will be able to handle any threat that might turn up, second of all you have proven that you lack the maturity to be trusted with a firearm, nor do the other children have that kind of maturity, you will turn over the firearm..Now! " Gendo said for he was growing weary of dealing with Drake.

 

Drake was now becoming very pissed off at the ass chewing he was getting from the commander as well as being fearful of Gendo but he knew he was beat on the matter of retaining the handgun he had lifted from the Section 2 agent he had clobbered and undid his soiled trenchcoat when the security guard that had brought him to the commander's office pulled out his handgun and pointed it at Drake, Drake slowly looked over at the guard and gave him a dirty look for he had enough this bullshit.

" Look ass face I don't have time for this happy horse shit!, if I wanted to waste the commander I would have shot him the moment I saw him so fuck the fuck off fucker! " he snarled at the security guard and pulled out the handgun from the waistband of his pants and walked over to the front of the commander's desk laid the handgun down on the commander's desk and slid it towards Gendo, " May I go now sir! " Drake said with a disgusted tone of voice, Gendo just looked at Drake for a few minutes and then waited for a few minutes more just to be a prick to Drake, " Your dismissed. " he said and Drake considered flipping off a one fingered salute but decided that it would be a bad idea to do so and turned to leave the commander's office and begain to goossesteping out of the commander's office just to be an asshole.

 

Fuyutsuki rubbed the bridge of his nose while muttering a curse after Drake as Gendo sat there smiling to himself, for he was not going to let Drake get away with his flagrant disrespect and smiled all the more as his dark mind came up with a few ideas that would brake Drake to his will fully as well as annoy the hell out of him.

 

Once Drake was outside of the commander's off he took a deep breath, held it and then let it go.

* Damn it that was fucked up! * Drake thought to himself as his fear turned to full out and out anger at having been chewed out for doing what he thought was necessary to survive from what he thought was a hostile encounter with possible enemies and begain to look for the male pilot's locker room so he could change out of his soiled clothes and into his plug suit and then find a washing machine to clean up his clothes and begain to curse out the commander as he made his way around Nerv towards the locker room.

 

****** The Tokyo-3 Mall ******

 

Kaji came to a stop outside of the mall that the other children where in and turned off the mini-van/suv's motor then got out of the mini-van/suv and pulled out his cell phone and dialed the number for Shinji's cell phone, RING...RING.. " Hello? ", " Shinji it's me Kaji, where are you and the others? "

" We're in the food court is everything alright? " Shinji asked as he listened to Kaji speak.

" I don't know tell the others to sit tight and I'll be there in a moment ok? " Kaji said as he made his way into the mall then hung up his cell phone and made his way though the masses of people and got to the food court five minutes later.

" KAJI!!!!! " Asuka half shouted as she saw Kaji walk over to there table and begain to leer at him as Shinji, Rei, Gwen, Hikari and Kensuke got to there feet, " Hello Asuka good to see you, hello Rei, Shinji how are you and who are your friends? " Kaji asked as he looked around the food court to see if there was anyone watching the children while he did his best to keep the children calm, " Kaji this is Gwen she's a pilot like me and this is Hikari my friend. " Asuka said as Kaji finished scouting out the food court, " Nice to meet you Gwen, Hikari. " Kaji said with a smile, Shinji then introduced Kensuke to Kaji and after they exchanged greetings Kaji gave them a bigger smile, " Well kids I'm here to take you home so let's go. " he said and watched as they gathered up there stuff and begain to lead them to where he had parked the mini-van/suv.

" Kaji do you know if Drake is alright? " Shinji asked as Kaji kept a watchful eye out for any hostiles, " I was over at the house when Drake called and said he was in some kind of trouble but he did not say what was happening to me. " Kaji said to Shinji and not noticing the dirty look that Asuka was giving him when she heard that he was with Misato at the house nor the deeply concerned look on Rei's face when she heard that Drake was in trouble as they made there way out of the mall, " Misato has gone looking for Drake as well as Section 2 of Nerv security so don't worry Drake will be fine. " Kaji added as they all got into the mini-van/suv then he hopped into the vehicle and drove off towards the house.

 

 

****** Somewhere In Nerv ******

 

Drake took a right turn around a corner and walked though the door and found himself in the control room of Nerv, " Far out! " Drake said as he saw the massive holographic screens that seemed to hang in mid-air and took a few steps into the control room and begain to look around for someone to tell him where he could use a phone so he could call Misato and let her know that he was safe then he could find out where the locker room was.

 

Ritsuko was standing beside Maya as they where going over a maintenance report of the MAGI computers as Shigeru Aboa and Makto Hyuga where sitting at there control stations and going over boring reports from the other sections of Nerv when they all noticed a repugnant stench in the air of the control room and looked around to find the source of the smell when they saw Drake standing there looking around the control room..

" Drake why are you here and what the hell happened to you? " Ritsuko asked as she got a good look at Drake as well as catching the sewage secant that was emanating off of him, Drake looked over at Ritsuko and let out a deep sigh, " Long story short ran into a few Section 2 goons didn't know it was them, did some ass kicking and spent that last half an hour or so getting my ass chewed off by the commander so all in all I have been having a shitty day. " he said to Ritsuko who gave him a shocked look as did the other bridge bunnies, " Can you point me to a phone so I can call Misato and let her know I'm alright and then could you tell me where the male pilot's locker room is so I can take a shower, change into my plug suit and wash my clothes? " he added and Ritsuko blinked at him for a moment before she got a portable phone and gave it to Drake, " Say blondie do you know Misato's cell phone number? " Drake asked with a worn out smirk on his face and she gave him the number.

 

RING...RING....RING..." Hello? ", " Misato it's me Drake I'm-" " DRAKE WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU ARE YOU SAFE!?!? " Misato shouted into her cell phone as fear griped her heart, " Misato I'm at Nerv and I'm ok. " Drake said in a reassuring tone of voice, " What happened to you? " Misato asked as she dodged a car as she stomped down on the gas pedal and swerved into another lane that would lead to Nerv for when she had called the head of Section 2 to find out if they knew where Drake was and had been told that they had no idea of where Drake was due to an order from the commander she had blown a gasket and told the head of Section 2 that they had better find Drake fast or heads where going to roll as she put the petal to the metal in order to try and find Drake.

" I'll tell you about it when I see you, can you come pick me up in an hour or so I need to get cleaned up I have had a shit ass day today. " he said into the phone as the other bridge bunnies did there best to ignore the smell that was radiating off of him like a cloud of nerve gas, " Drake I'll be there in fifteen minutes when I get there you better have a good explanation for giving me and the other children a bad fright! "Misato said into her cell phone as she stomped down the gas pedal to the floor of her car and begain to weave into and out of traffic, Drake let out a tried out groan as he realized that he was in for another round of ass chewing from Misato.

" Fine I see you when you get here bye! " he said into the phone then hung it up and handed it to Ritsuko and once she put the phone away she lead Drake down to the locker room/shower room and as they made there way there she asked Drake for details as to what happened but there was no answer forthcoming from him and she took the hint and dropped the matter as she saw the grim look on Drake's face as well as the haunted look in his eyes, " Drake what's wrong, is something the matter? " she asked once more and Drake gave her a cold look that sent a chill up her spine, " No I'm not alright and I don't want to talk about it so just drop it! " he snarled at her and Ritsuko recoiled slightly from the sheer misery and anger in his voice and as the two of them made there way to there distention.

 

Fifteen minutes later Misato was standing in front of the male pilot's locker/shower room and was surprised to see Ritsuko standing there.

" Rits is Drake in there? " Misato asked as she came to a halt, " Yes he's taking a shower, Misato I think Drake might be in some kind of trouble he seems uptight and snappish with everyone. " Ritsuko said as she took a drag from her smoke, Misato looked at her friend for a moment and thought about what she had been told " Where you able to get anything out of Drake as to what happened to him? " she asked as she felt the need for a few beers right then and there but before any more words could be exchanged the door to the locker/shower room opened and there stood Drake in his plug suit with an arm load of laundry and a ripped open plastic bag that had once held his plug suit with a wallet and a strange looking black case in it as well as his cell phone and his bottle of painkillers.

" Hello Misato. " Drake said with a worn out and depressed tone of voice that caused Misato some concern, " Ritsuko where's the laundry room? " Drake asked and Ritsuko told Drake that Nerv did not have any laundry facilities Drake looked at her in disbelief and shook his head, " Fine can we go home now Misato? "

he said to Misato who looked him over and saw that he was depressed to the max, " Sure Drake I have something to do before I go so I'll have someone escort you to the motor pool and I'll meet you at my car ok? " Misato said with a brave smile that did nothing to lighten Drake's gloomy mood, " Fine what ever. " Drake said with a downcast voice and the three of them made there way from the locker/shower room.

 

Once Misato found someone to escort Drake to the motor pool she watched as Drake left them and once they where gone Misato looked over to Ritsuko, " Ok now I want to know what the hell is going on here? " she said to Ritsuko as they made there way to Misato's office, once they got there Misato made a strong cup off coffee for herself and one for Ritsuko, " From what Drake told me on the bridge he had a run in with Section 2 and from what he said things got ugly with them and then the commander roasted him over the coals for it. " Ritsuko said as she sipped her coffee before she spoke on, " While Drake was taking a shower I made a few calls to Section 2 and made a few inquiries and was given the cold shoulder and when I tried to pull rank on them I was told that the matter had been classified eyes only by the commander himself. " she added and saw the surprised look on Misato's face, " What the fuck is going on around here? " Misato said as she took a long pull from her coffee, " There something very wrong going on here and I don't like it. " she added " All I know is something bad happened and Drake's messed up over it you had better watch him carefully because I think Drake has reached his braking point. " Ritsuko said as she finished up her coffee.

" Thanks Rits, I'll talk to Drake and see if I can get him to open up, let me know if you find anything out ok?" Misato said as she polished off her coffee then the two women went there separate ways.

 

Misato found Drake sitting in the passenger's seat of her car and she got in and shut the door.

SIN! SINF! " What the hell is that!? " Misato asked Drake as she smelled the tainted air in her car and when she saw the despairing look on Drake's face she knew that what ever happened between him and Section 2 had been a real nut buster, she looked in the back of her car and found out that the smell was coming from Drake's laundry that was piled up in the back seat of her car.

" Drake what happened to you today? " Misato asked as she started up the car, " I don't want to talk about it just leave it be, I-I-I need time to sort this shit out ok! " Drake snaped and from the dispair in his voice Misato knew that she had her work cut out for her, " Drake whatever is bothering you can't keep it bottled up I want to help you but I can't unless you tell me what is eating you. " Misato said as they made there way home, Drake looked at Misato and just shook his head, " Look I can't talk about it right now, so will you just give me my space. " Drake said and Misato could see that he was on the verge of tears and felt frustration at being helpless to help Drake out with his problem, " Ok Drake but you know you can talk to me about anything right? " Misato said as she laid a comforting hand on Drake's left shoulder and gave it a friendly squeeze, " Thanks Misato. " Drake said and the two of them drove home without another word exchanged between them

 

 

****** The House ******

 

 

Gwen and Asuka where talking to Kaji who had returned to the house after dropping Hikari and Kensuke off at there homes while Rei was having a glass of soya milk in the kitchen and Shinji was watching some TV in the living room when Misato and Drake walked into the house, " Drake are you ok? " Shinji asked as Drake walked by the living room with his stuff but Misato came to a stop and told him to leave Drake alone then took him aside, " Shinji Drake has had a very bad day and he needs his space right now but if he decides to tell you what happened to him try and be as understanding as you can. " she said to Shinji who told her that she could count on him.

As Drake was making his way down to the laundry room in the basement of the house he saw Rei sitting at the kitchen along with Asuka, Gwen and Kaji who had drinks of there own so that Shinji could watch the tv in peace and Rei watched Drake as he went into the basement and a surge of confusing feeling welled up in her heart and mind as she considered that she may have been to hasty in pushing Drake away from her in the lunchroom when she saw the troubled look on Drake's face and she was also confused as to why he had been wearing his plug suit instead of his normal clothing but as much as she wanted to go and talk to him her fears of becoming closer to Drake kept her from going to him, Gwen, Kaji and Asuka where also surprised at seeing Drake in his plug suit but once they saw the troubled look on his face they knew something bad had happened to him and as much as they wanted to know what had happened to him they knew from that look on his face that it would be a bad idea to question him as to what had happened to him so they decided to question Misato as to what was wrong with Drake but when Misato told them that she had no idea as to what was wrong with Drake they decided to let the matter rest even though they so badly wanted to know what was going on with Drake but the tone of voice that Misato had used when she told them that she had no idea of what was wrong with Drake had made it clear to them it would be a wise idea not to press the matter with Drake.

 

After half an hour or so Misato walked down into the basement and saw Drake sitting on the washing machine as it cleaned his clothes and she could see by the far away look in Drake's eyes that he was going though some kind of mental hell and that he was unable to deal with it.

" Drake sorry if I sound like I'm hen pecking you but I know that you are deeply hurt by whatever happened between you and Section 2 so-" Misato started to say but was cut off by a slight outraged Drake.

" How do you know about that, did the commander tell you what happened. " he said with a snarl in his voice and Misato smiled at him, " I have my sources but what I don't know is what happened between you and Section 2 but I can tell from the way your acting that some very bad had happened between you and them. " Misato said as she leaned against the wall next to the washing machine and watched as a dark look washed over Drake's face as he looked at her and she could see the fear in his eyes that made him look so vulnerable that she had to fight down the urge to hug him tightly to her.

Drake knew that he could not keep his troubles to himself any longer and he also knew that he was in so deep shit and that Misato might be the only person how could save him from jail or the death penalty if the Section 2 agent he had shot in the head died because of him, " Misato I-I-I might have killed a man today. " Drake said as he looked at Misato and saw that her reaction to his words was one of uncertainty and this filled him with even more fear and dread then he was capable of dealing with and he begain to cry as the stress of the day's unfortunate events finally overwhelmed him, Misato walked over and hugged Drake as he sobbed on her shoulder and she felt a deep pity for him for deep in her heart she knew that Drake despite his tough guy act was not a stone cold killer and that the fact that he might have taken another human being's life weight heavily on him and she rubbed his back in a comforting manor as she rocked him back and forth.

 

Once Misato got Drake calmed down she asked him to tell her what had happened and she listened as Drake retold his of his encounter with Section 2 and from her military training told her that Drake had over reacted when he meet the Section 2 agents and she asked him why he did not stay put at the restaurant.

Drake looked at Misato and saw that she was thinking that he had done the wrong thing and his further fueled his feelings of guilt as well as his lingering anger for having the commander come down on him for doing what he had to do to survive and now Misato was coming down on him as well and he felt a sense of betrayal for he thought that Misato would have a lest seen and understood the reasons for him doing what he had done but there was something in her eyes that told Drake not to lash out at her and he looked at her for a moment before he spoke to her, " I knew that the guys that where tailing me where not undercover police men from the way they acted and I just knew that they where armed so I did what I had to do because I thought my life was at risk and I knew that you would have never found me before they had kidnapped or killed me so I high tailed it out of the restaurant and when I ran out the back door of the restaurant I hid myself and watched as they split up looking for me and the one guy that stayed behind was going to find me so I knew I had to take him out before he took me out. " Drake said as he reached into the plastic bag that held his things and fished out his bottle of painkillers, opened it and took one as Misato stood there giving him a questioning look.

 

" So what happened next? " Misato asked as she watched Drake recap the bottle of painkillers and put it back in the plastic bag with the rest of his stuff, " I knew I was right about the guys being armed because they pulled out there guns before they split up to look for me and I was dead certain that the guy who had stayed behind in the alleyway would have shot me if he found me so I sunk up behind him with a pipe I found in the trash I was hiding in and brained him and he nearly shot me, after I had clobbered him he fell to the ground but he still had the gun in his hand so I hit him in the hand and when he let go of the gun we westered for it and I got the gun for a moment I was not sure if I was going to shoot him or not when I heard the other guys that had been with him come running back to where we were and I knew that if I stuck around and tried to shoot it out with them I would end up dead so I ran for it. " Drake said as the washing machine came to a stop and he got off it begain to put his clothes into the dryer, once that was done Drake stared up the dryer and then continued to tell Misato about his run in with the Section 2 agents.

 

" After I lost them I found myself in a dead end alley with more of the Section 2 agents on my ass for one of the guys that fallowed me out of the restaurant must have called in for reinforcements because the alleyways where soon crawling with the guys in the black suits and they had there guns drawn, my only escape from that dead end alley was though a sewer pipe and when I managed to get the manhole cover off the guys in the black suits came around the corner and I dove into the sewer, when I hit the bottom of the sewer I saw the guys standing around the opening and I knew that where going to come after me so I had to buy myself some time to escape so I drew out my handgun and snaped off a few shots, I saw one of the guys fall as the others backed away from the opening before I ran for my life, once I lost them I wondered around the sewer until I ran into some sewer workers and asked them how to get out of the sewers, once they told me I got out and made my way to Nerv once I got there I got called into the commander's office and had my ass roasted for an hour or so then when the commander finished with me I went looking for a shower/locker room to get cleaned up when I ran into blondie...Ritsuko I mean I gave you a call and the rest you know. " Drake said as he sat on top of the dryer.

 

Misato looked at Drake as she thought about what she had been told and came to realize that Drake had done the same thing she would have done if she had been in his shoes and was taken aback by his killer instinct and she knew that Drake was a survivor but she had to wonder at what price did Drake have to pay to have such a deeply rooted survival instinct and that line of thought made her wonder if Drake was really cut out to be an eva pilot once more but the fearful look in his eyes and the scars on his body told her that he had paid a very high price indeed and her feelings for Drake grew as her maternal instinct kicked into high gear as she felt a deep need not only to protect him but the other children as well from the harsh realities of there complex lives due to the stresses of being eva pilots as well as the confusing changes that being a teenager heaped upon them.

 

" Drake I don't know what's going to happen to you because of this but I will do all I can to help you though this but right now you need to relax and I'll tell the other children to back off and give you your head space but I need to know that your not going to do something stupid over then mess ok? " Misato said to Drake who gave her a weak smile, " I promise not to do anything rash and thanks for being there for me. " Drake said as he reached out and hugged Misato close to him then after the broke there embrace Misato knew that Drake needed some time to get his mind in order and left the basement.

 

When Misato came up stairs she saw that Kaji, Asuka and Gwen where still in the kitchen along with Rei who was eating some of her leftover dinner and that Shinji was still in the living room watching tv.

" Shinji turn that off and come in here. " Misato called out to Shinji as she got herself a beer from the fridge and waited for Shinji to have a seat at the kitchen table, once he was seated Misato begain to speak to the children and Kaji, " I have found out what is bothering Drake and it is bad, very bad so I want you all to give Drake his space and if he get's snappy to give him as much lee way as you can. " she said and watched the questioning looks that formed on there faces and as much as she wanted to tell them what Drake's problem was she knew it was not her places to say so and said as much to them.

Asuka was not to happy about this after all why should she put up with Drake's snappy attitude for and she begain to complain about it, " Why should we have to put up with Drake if he starts copping an attitude for, it's not fair! " Asuka said as she sat back in her chair as the rest of them gave Misato a questioning look as they felt varying amount of concern for Drake, " Asuka how many times have we had to put up with you when you where in a pissy mood?, besides whatever had put you in such a mood was nothing compared to what Drake is dealing with so cut him some slack. " Misato said to Asuka who sat there with a disgusted look on her face, " Misato what happened to Drake? " Shinji asked and Misato told him and the others that she was not at liberty to say what had happened to Drake out of respect for his privacy.

 

Rei knew for the deeply troubled look in Misato's eyes that Drake was indeed in some dire straights and she felt a deeply rooted fear for Drake that was slowly eating away at her resolve to keep Drake at arm's length and she knew that despite her confused feelings for Drake she had to know what had happened to him and was about to ask Misato if she could speak to her in privet when Drake came up out of the basement with his laundry and the plastic bag that held his stuff and walked passed them without so much as a word to them and they all could see the dark and stormy look in his eyes and they took a moment to ponder upon what kind of trouble he had gotten himself into that had messed him up so badly and none of there thoughts where good ones.

After Drake left the kitchen Misato told them to gave Drake his head space and then she went to the fridge to get a beer, " Well it is getting late so I should be going now. " Kaji said with a weak smile because of his strangely deep concern for Drake who he did not know at that well and because of his years of experience as a secret agent told him that the troubled look in Drake's eyes had involved death or a near death situation and he got up from his seat as Asuka asked him to stay for a little while longer, " Asuka as much as I enjoy being around you and the others I have a lot of work to do and I am tired so I must go. " he said as Asuka latched onto his arm with her childish infatuation that he found some what charming but mostly annoying but he was to much of a gentleman to speak harshly to the love sick teen and freed his arm for her grasp as Misato gave him a knowing look for she knew that Kaji had some idea as to what had happened to Drake and was thankful that he was not going to dig to deeply into the matter when she was struck with an idea and asked to speak to him in privet before he left.

 

Once they where in the living room Misato told him the bare details of what Drake had told her in the laundry room, " I know you have ways of digging up stuff so as a favor could you find out what exactly happened between Section 2 and Drake? " she asked Kaji who gave her a charming smile.

" Of course my dear dear lady once I have found out anything about the matter I'll contact you. " he said gave Misato a hug and a peck on the cheek then he walked out of the living room and out of the house as Asuka tailed behind him and wished him a good night, Misato was about to go to her room when she saw Rei walk towards her with a troubled look on her face and she knew or at the very lest had a good idea of what was on Rei's mind.

" Misato can I speak to you in privet? " Rei asked as she came to a stop before Misato who was taking a heathy swig from her beer, " Sure Rei we can speak in my room. " Misato said and walked to her bed room, opened the door and stood aside so Rei could enter the room which she saw was messy and wondered how Misato could live like that as Misato walked into the room behind her and shut the door behind her.

 

" Ok Rei what's on your mind? " Misato asked as she sat down on the edge of her futon as Rei found herself a clean spot on the floor of Misato's bed room and sat down.

" Misato what happened to Drake I have never seen him this troubled before." she said to Misato who finished off her beer and chucked the can into the over flowing waste basket with a clatter, " Rei I can't say what's wrong with Drake because he would not want me to talk about it but I'll tell you this he's going to need all the support we can give him for he's reached his braking point and I'm sure that the stress he's been under is going to mess him up badly. " Misato said as she looked into Rei's eyes and saw the look of concern and a slight hint of fear in them and knew that she was going to have a hell of time convincing Rei to open up to Drake who needed a true friend in such a dark time in his life.

Rei looked at Misato and could see the look of concern in her eyes and knew that for Misato to have such a look in her eyes that Drake was in some very deep trouble indeed an she felt torn between reaching out to help Drake who she found her thoughts revolving around more and more as time passed and her deep dark fears of what he would think of her once he found out the terrible truth about her for it was such thoughts that had been causing her no end of trouble for she wanted so badly to reach out to Drake and let him into her heart but she knew that once Drake found out her secrets about her he would be disgusted and push her away from him and she would be all alone once more as well as her lingering fears about how to act when and if she opened up to him for she had never before in her life had such feelings for another human being, not even for Shinji who had always treated her with kindness.

 

Misato could see that Rei was upset about her feelings towards Drake and decided to confront her about it for she knew that Rei was also reaching her braking point as the poor girl's fear and confusion ate away at her, " Rei why did you push Drake away from you? " she asked and watched as a troubled look washed over Rei's face.

" Misato I don't understand what love is nor do I understand these strange feelings that I have for Drake and they scare me badly so I told him I needed time to myself in order to sort out my feelings for him but try as I might I can not put them into perspective. " she said to Misato as she looked at her with a fearful hope that she would be help her get to the bottom for her confusing feeling for Drake for she had no one else to turn to but she knew there was no way in hell she could tell Misato the truth about her as such dark secrets burdened her tortured soul with fear, anxiety, confusion and a sense of worthlessness since she was replaceable and knew that she would be expended in a heart beat of the commander if he thought that she had outlived her usefulness to him.

 

Misato saw that Rei was close to tears and scooted over to where the albino was sitting and reached out to hug her and when she did Rei begain to cry and from the depths of her anguish Misato knew that Rei had some serous issues to work out and just held her until she stopped crying ten or so minutes later.

" Rei if there's something that's bothering you, you can tell me about it you know I will not judge you because of whatever is bothering you. " Misato said as she gave Rei a warm smile, " Then tell me why I have this feelings for Drake, why is his well being so important to me and why to I wish be close to him."

she said to Misato who continued to smile at Rei for she could see that Rei had it bad for Drake and thought back to her first love with fondness and sadness at there parting.

" Rei do you find Drake attractive? " Misato asked as she had a feeling in the pit of her stomach that this conversation between her and Rei was going to be * The Talk * that all parents had with there children when the time was right, Rei thought about Misato's question for a few long minutes as she tried to understand what it was about Drake that she had found so disturbing yet drew her thoughts to him.

" Physically he his not unattractive but yet I find that there is more to him then his looks that disturb me so." Rei said to Misato who nodded her head and took what Rei had told her as a good sign because Rei's words told her that she saw Drake as more then just a hunk of man meat and that her feelings for him where not just based upon appearances which gave her hope that if a relationship developed between the two of them it would be a lasting one.

 

" What else do you see in him? " Misato asked as she gave Rei a firmer hug and she felt her smile grow as she saw the thoughtful look on Rei's face for that told her that Rei was not like she had been when she had been her age for she was giving her questions some deep thought, " As I said before he his coarse, crass and he can be somewhat rude but yet when I look into his eyes I can see that his is caring and thoughtful towards me and well when I'm around him I feel safe and warm all over. " Rei said with a wistful look on her face and Misato let out a chuckle, " Rei I would say that you are deeply attracted to him for all the right reasons and this is a good thing for that is a part of love and I am proud of you for not rushing into a relationship with him for love is like a plant it takes to grow but at lest the seed has been planted in your heart. " Misato said and she could see that Rei was giving her words some very deep thought and this made her happy, " A true and loving relationship is based on more then sex, there is a mutual respect and understanding between two people and a willingness to overlook the faults of another person. " Misato added and Rei nodded her head in understanding as she listened to Misato's every word with a hunger as she begain to understand her feelings for Drake a little more.

 

Misato let go of Rei and gave her a smile for she knew that it was time for * The Talk *

" Rei you know what sex is right? " Misato asked as she recalled the fact that Rei had learned about sex from watching pornos and waited for her answer, " Yes Misato I know what sex is and I know where babies come from I leaned that in sex ed a month ago but what I don't understand is what is the difference between sex and love making. " Rei said as she blushed slightly and that caused Misato to snicker slightly before she spoke to Rei, " Rei the difference between sex and love making is that you do one for just physical pleasure and that the other you do to give pleasure to another as a way of showing your love for that person. " Misato said and decided to get to the point for her words, " Rei when you have sex with someone because you wish to express your love for that person that is love making but when you have sex just to enjoy it then it's just sex and there's nothing wrong with having sex just to feel good but it's not something that you do with just anyone and when you have sex use protection because you know that if you don't use the pill or have him use a condom then you run the risk of getting pregnant. " Misato said and was deeply shocked when Rei started to cry once more.

" Rei what's wrong, why are you crying for? " Misato said as Rei latched on to her as he sobs grew louder and louder with each passing movement, " I-I-I-I can't have children, I am barren so how can I have a future with any man! " Rei wailed as her body shook with her choking sobs and Misato felt like she had just shot herself in the foot as her own tears begain to form because of her injuries juring second impact she was barren as well and it tore her heart apart from time to time at such a loss and it hurt her to see Rei who still had her whole life ahead of her to be struck with such a terrible loss.

" Oh Rei I'm so sorry! " Misato said as she hugged Rei tightly to her as she fought down her own tears and begain to rock Rei back and forth.

 

Once Rei stopped crying Misato told her about her own bareness and how it came about juring second impact and that she also understood Rei's fears that no man would want her because she was unable to give them any children, " Rei if any man truly loves you then this won't be a problem. " she said to Rei who wiped away a tear, " But I might want to have a family some day and knowing that I can't hurts me so badly." Rei said to Misato who understood Rei's pain all to well.

" Rei if you want children some day you can always adopt a child, after all I took you and the others in. " Misato said with a smile, " But how will I know what to do if I adopt a child? " Rei asked as she pushed down her sorrow and watched as Misato smiled at her, " Rei I don't know how to rise children, I don't think there is anyone on earth who knows for sure on how to rise a child right, you have to play it by ear I guess, make sure that the child's needs are taken care of and give the child all the love you can. " Misato said to Rei who nodded her head as she tried to understand what Misato was saying to her.

 

Misato let out a yawn and looked over at her alarm clock and saw that it read 11:56pm.

" Well it looks like it's bed time so try and get some rest and Rei don't shut Drake out for I know he cares deeply about you ok? " Misato said to Rei as they got up from where they where sitting.

" Ok Misato I'll try to befriend him as best as I can. " Rei said and Misato gave her a thumbs up sign and watched as Rei left her bed room, once Rei was gone Misato made her way into the kitchen for one last beer and saw PenPen standing there with his two dishes in his flippers.

" Ok PenPen I'm sorry I'll get you your beer and nightly snack. " Misato said as she reached down and ruffled the penguin's feathers.

Rei was striped out of her school uniform and was laying on her bed when she reached out and grabbed the SD cabbit that was on her bed and pulled it close to her bare chest and found herself enjoying the softness of the cabbit's mock fur between her breasts as she cuddled up to it and as she laid there in her bed she begain to think about what Misato had said to her and she knew that it was pointless to deny her feelings for Drake any longer and she vowed that she would no longer push Drake away from her now that he needed her in his time of woe.

With a slight smile on her face from the feelings and mental images at the thought of being with Drake gave her and softness of her cabbit she soon fell asleep and when she would awake in the morning she would be ready to face her fears with a new found strength and confidence that Misato's words had given her..
