`Lonely I am always so lonely. I have been alone all my life but why do I feel even more alone now? No one in my entire life has cared for me so why should I feel lonely?'

Images start to flash through his mind and he starts to question his past.

 

`Have I been alone all my life? Misato, Touji, Kenseuke, Hikari, and even somewhat of Rei they have been in my life and cared for me. Before my mom was absorbed by unit 01 she loved me and I was never alone. Even though Rei didn't show emotions often she stilled cared for me I know she did she wouldn't have blown up unit 00 if she didn't. I even started to like her and now that she isn't here anymore I can't tell her how I felt. Touji and Kenseuke my two best friends, they were there for me and I didn't even acknowledge it I was such a fool. Hikari even though we didn't talk to much to her I still considered her a close friend because she was always nice to me. Misato the person miss the most, my guardian who developed to be a second mom to me. I wish they were all hear right now.'

 

Shinji opened his eyes to the cloudy dark sky and sat up looking out in the horizon not looking for anything particular. He looked back up at the cloudy sky and sighed. “At least I don't have to see the blood.” He quietly said to himself.

 

“What did you say third child?” An irritated voice asked him. Shinji turned to look at his side to see Asuka sitting there also. He had forgotten that she was even there and didn't know why she was but he wasn't going to ask her. She glared at him with her one eye waiting for the reply.

 

“I said at least I don't have to look at the blood.” He pointed up to the sky and she followed his finger up to the cloudy sky and she just frowned.

 

“Well idiot those aren't a good thing though it could start raining anytime now so we should go look for shelter.” She tried getting up with her one arm and it was hard but she managed to stand up. Shinji stood up also and looked around and didn't really know were to go. He really didn't even know where they were.

 

“Yeah I guess we should.” He sighed and looked out to the LCL ocean again but something immediately caught his attention. A wave had carried a certain blue haired girl to the surface and she looked unconscious.

 

“Hey Baka what the hell are you looking at.” She looked at him really getting mad at him for ignoring her. `What is that idiot looking at?' She turns her gaze and sees Rei get washed up on the shore and she was naked. Shinji suddenly runs to get to her.

 

“REI! Are you ok?” He sees that she is breathing and sighs in relief but soon starts to red noticing she is naked. He quickly takes his shirt off and pulls it over Reis head and he then picks her up and starts to walk back to Asuka who looks pissed.

 

“Looks like wondergirl has returned I can't believe and I thought my life couldn't get much worse at the moment.” Shinji walks up to her while holding Rei. “Hey pervert I saw you staring at her!” Asuka yelled at him.

 

“w-w-what…are you talking about Asuka?” Shinji tried not to stutter or blush but failed at both things.

 

“You know what I am talking about third so don't make me beat you.” She said in a deadly voice.

 

“Sorry…” She turns away disgusted about how he always apologizes. They both didn't realize it but in the sky lightening started to flash but it was being constant flashes. Shinji looked up and his eyes went wide. “Uh Oh…”

 

“What!” She looks up and her eyes also go wide but she quickly recovers and looks at him. “We got to go now!” She starts walk away but then there was a very bright flash and both Shinji and Asuka closed there eyes. They opened there eyes to see what it was that flashed to brightly and when they didn't come up with anything they looked to notice that the lightening stopped and the clouds were clearing.

 

“That was weird I wonder why I did that?” He asked no one but Asuka being her usual self answered.

 

“I don't know idiot why are you asking me just shut up!” Asuka turns to the sky again but to her one eye she notices something falling and it looked like a person. She watched as he fell into the LCL.

 

He came back up taking a huge breath of fresh air and just floats there for a second wondering how he got there. “Where the heck am I?” He asks himself. He looks around and notices a shore with a couple people on it and starts to swim over there. When he reaches there he notices it's a boy and girl and it looks like the boy is holding another girl.

 

Shinji carefully sets Rei down on the ground and looks back up at the person who just swam up from the shore. The guy slowly stands up and stretches out and then looks at the two staring at him. “Umm you guys wouldn't happen to know where I am, do you?

 

“You are in Tokyo 3.” Shinji tells him but he looks confused.\

 

“Never heard of it.” Shinji looks at him strange. How can anyone not of heard of Tokyo 3 is beyond him but he wasn't going to press the matter.

 

“Who are you and why did you from the sky?” Asuka asked in her usual nice attitude.

 

“My name is Michael and you got me on why I fell from the sky.” He looked at her and shrugged. She just glared at him not believing him for a minute.

 

“Whatever…” She looks away and Michael just stares at her confused.

 

“Someone is grumpy must be those bandages are on to tight.” Michael said to himself. Asuka heard him and got mad and swung to slap him but to her amazement he caught without even looking at her. “Don't hit me please.” He said it without a hint of anger in his voice. He let go of her and she backed up a little and when she did Shinji got in front of her ready to protect her.

 

“My name is Shinji and this is Asuka and that girl laying unconscious over there is Rei.” Shinji pointed to them and Michael just nodded and held out his hand for Shinji to shake. So Shinji did and they both started to smile.

 

“It is nice to meet you both I am just a little confused still so don't mind me I start to talk to myself.” He started to laugh and then turned away and started to look around were he was and then he spotted all the destruction. “Wow what happened here it looks like a war was held here.”

 

Shinji and Asuka look at him shocked to hear what he just said. “Are you from a different planet or did that fall screw with your head?” Asuka asked him. “The Angel Wars took place here.” He looked at her not knowing what she is talking about.

 

“Never heard of it.” Michael just shrugged his shoulders and started to walk around. “You guys don't mind if I tag along do you I don't really know were and you two are the first people I have talk to.” Shinji shook his head and Michael just smiled but Asuka wasn't too thrilled.

 

“Great someone else here to get on my nerves. I better not catch you perverts staring at me from back there!” Asuka yelled to them.

 

“Why would we?” Michael asked her feeling confused on why she is so angry. “You just met me how do you know I am a pervert?” Asuka turns around and glares at him.

 

“You are a boy and all boys are perverts.” She says turning back around and starts to walk off. Michael didn't get her but he wasn't going to continue on arguing with her. They started there walk back to Misato's apartment and were being silent the whole way there until they spotted something. “Are those people?”

 

Shinji and Michael looked and noticed that there were indeed people at a building looking quite confused and there were more appearing every second. “What is happening and why are all these people just appearing out of no were?” Michael asked really confused.

 

“Well it's kind of a long story and it is hard to explain but if you want after we get back to our place I can tell you it.” Shinji tells him and Michael just nods in response. It was going to be a long walk to the apartment because there was no subway to take them to there side of the town and there was no other running vehicles. Shinji will have the hardest part because he is also carrying Rei so hopefully he won't tire out to fast.

 

`Why did I have to come back why couldn't I just stay dead. I wanted to get away from this world and all the pain it has caused me but no I had to get stuck back here with that idiot and that doll. Shinji tried to kill me though and yet I stopped him by just touching him on the cheek. Why couldn't he had just gone on and killed me why can't I have anything peace in my life instead I am stuck with pain and loneliness. It doesn't matter though I don't need anyone.' She looks behind her to see Shinji and that guy Michael talking to each other. `Why did he fall from the sky and why doesn't he know what happened here and doesn't know anything about angels. Why am I asking all these questions I must be loosing it.'

 

They had been walking for a good hour and a half now and tiredness was getting to them well except Michael who looked like he could keep going for a long time. Michael looked over at Shinji and saw that he was breathing kind of hard so he guessed it was because he was carrying Rei. He then looked at Asuka and looked like she was struggling maybe because of the injuries she has.

 

“I could carry her if you want.” Michael says to Shinji but he is hesitant.

 

“That is ok I can do it I mean we only just met and I don't really know you yet so I will have to say no.” Michael just shakes his head and understands what he is saying. In the mean time is kind of surprised that Shinji said no and without stuttering I mean come on ever sense she met him he has been a stuttering wimp. During all this thinking she doesn't here someone walk up to her.

 

“Asuka” Asuka jumps at the hearing of her name turns her head a little to see Michael standing next to her.

 

Her eyes narrow some, “what do you want?” She asks him in her usual Asuka attitude.

 

“I was wondering if you want any help I can tell that you are getting tired.” Michael smiled down at her and waited the answer.

 

“I don't need your help you got that!” She said with ice in her voice.

 

“As you wish.” Michael steps back some and continues walking with both of them in silence. The time had been going quickly and they have finally spotted the apartment. Shinji and Asuka couldn't believe it had survived all the destruction that had been going on. As they were getting there some guys jump out from a corner and grab Asuka and grab her injured arm and she screams out in great pain.

 

“LET GO!” She yells at them but they just ignore her. Tears start running down her face from the shear pain coming from her arm.

 

“Look what we got here boys an injured defenseless redhead I think our luck is running pretty good today.” Guessing that was the leader speaking to them all the others could just shake there heads.

 

“I would let her go if I was you.” They all looked towards Michael who was glaring at them.

 

“Oh really and just what are you going to do if we don't?” The leader asked he lowered his head a little licked Asuka's and smiled. “Mmm she tastes nice.” The guy was sadistic and Michael figured that out when he licked her neck. Asuka tried to get free again but the guy squeezed her arm making her cry out in more pain.

 

“Asuka stop moving I will get you out of there.” Michael was worried that they would injure her wound even more. Asuka couldn't do anything else so she listened to Michael.

 

`How is he going to get me out of this it is four against one.' She was thinking to herself trying not to think of the massive stinging feeling through her arm. One of the guys had a bat and started to walk up to Michael with it.

 

“Michael watch out!” Shinji yelled behind him. Michael saw the guy but he didn't move he just smirked. They guy reeled the bat back and hit Michael right in the gut. They guy was laughing but soon stopped noticing something not right with picture.

 

“What in the hell…” The guy said looking up. Michael was looking at the guy smirking because Michael didn't even move he didn't jerk back from pain or anything. Michael didn't even flinch when the guy did again. Everyone was looking with wide eyes the leader couldn't believe his neither could Asuka.

 

`How is that possible a blow from that would knock a person out but he didn't even flinch.' Asuka was in shock from this. Shinji was shocked from this to his mouth was open in shock but he was also thinking that at least he was alright. The guy was getting anxious and finally put all his strength into it and hit Michael right in the face.

 

CRACK

 

The bat shattered but Michael didn't even move he wasn't injured or showing any signs of pain. The guy started to back up in fear but before he could move any further Michael grabs him and whispers to him, “my turn.” With that said Michael brings his fist up plunges it right into his gut making the guys eyes shoot open and loose his breath. Michael lets go of him and he falls unconscious to the ground. Michael turns and looks back to the leader. “Now let her go and I will think about letting you guys go.” The leader looks at him in fear but recovers because he still has Asuka.

 

“I don't think so.” The leader smiled at him. “You won't do anything while I have her.” Michael only smirked at him.

 

“If you blink it will be all over.” Michael said to the leader and he didn't know what he was talking about. So the leader just squeezed a harder on Asuka's arm making her screech in more pain. It was all slow motion the leader closed his eyes to blink but before he could open them there was a huge pain suddenly in his gut. He opens his eyes to see Michael standing there with his fist in his gut. The guy feet was off the ground Michael had his fist in his gut still and had lifted him off the ground. The guy passed out and Michael just flung him to the side. He looked at the other two and the look he gave them dared them to do something so instead they just fled.

 

Shinji couldn't belief what just happened he just looked at Michael with the widest eyes he couldn't even say a word. The guy took a bat to the gut multiple times and a hit in the face and didn't even flinch and to top it all off he knocked out the leader without him seeing him move it was like he moved like lightening. “Asuka are you ok?” Shinji was taken out of his thoughts when he heard Michael. He looked over to Asuka who was clutching her arm and she had tears running down her face and that is the first time in his time of knowing Asuka to see her crying.

 

She shook her head and looked up to the two pairs of eyes looking at her in concern but she didn't stay conscious long enough to tell them to stop staring. She went to the ground but didn't make contact with it because Michael caught her before she could hit it. “Shinji we got to get your place now!” Michael looked over at Shinji and he just nodded his head they quickly started to go the apartment. Michael looked at Asuka's arm and noticed blood dripping off her bandages, `oh god we need to hurry up or she is going to have permanent damage.'

 

Ten minutes later finally get there and Michael pretty much had to kick the door open because well both guys' hands were occupied. Shinji took Rei to his room and laid her on his bed and covered her up he looks at her for a bit and is happy that she is back and starts to smile a bit but is soon cut off by Michael. “Shinji a little help would be nice!” He runs out and looks at Asuka's arm to see the bandages are turning red.

 

“Her room is right here.” Shinji goes to her door and opens it for Michael.

 

“Ok take all her blankets and sheets off and quickly get me a bucket of warm water and lots of towels.” Shinji hesitates for a minute does it anyway because he sounds like he knows what he is doing and plus Asuka was loosing a lot blood and he didn't know what he would do if he lost her a second time. He quickly takes off all the blankets and sheets and then Michael puts her on the bed but he grabs her arm and holds it up. Shinji doesn't waste anytime getting the water and towel and when he finally returns he sets the water next to Michael and hands him the towels.

 

“Ok hand me that garbage can over there.” He points to it and Shinji grabs it and sets it right next to him. He slowly and carefully starts to take the bandages from her arm and throwing them in the garbage can and when he finally finished taking them off all he can do is look in shock. `What in gods name happened to her arm?' He thinks to himself staring at the huge cut going all the way from between her middle and pointer finger to the shoulder blade. “This is going to take a lot of power.” Michael said to himself.

 

“What do you mean?” Michael turns around and looks at Shinji who has a worried look on his face.

 

“I mean I am going to heal her.” Michael turns back around and Shinji just stares at him really confused. Michael grabs one of the towels and puts it under her arm and puts is down gently. He brings both hands up really close to her arm and when I say close I mean almost touching. He closes his eyes and starts to concentrate on something and all the while Shinji is sitting in the back wanting to know what he is doing.

 

When Shinji is about to ask Michael what he is doing something catches his attention quickly. He moves over to the side and sees Asuka's arm glowing and it looks like its healing also. Shocked Shinji looks over to Michael who has his eyes closed still but his facial expression shows that he is concentration really hard. A few minutes later the glowing stops and Asuka's arm looks like it was never cut except for all the blood around it. He then goes up to her eye patch and carefully takes that off as well and sees were she has been hit. Her eye was still there but there was a considerable amount of damage just under eye so he brings his arms above her eye and once again closes his eyes and a few minutes later it's healed.

 

When Michael is done healing her eye he grabs one of the towels and puts it in the bucket and then he rings it out and slowly starts to clean off all the blood that was on her. Mean while Shinji is still speechless to what just happened a minute ago, `okay Ikari you are officially insane now…what just happened here cannot be possible.' He was thinking to himself.

 

“H…how did…how did you do that?” Shinji asked Michael looking at him.

 

“I'll tell you in a little bit let me finish cleaning off this blood.” Shinji nodded and let him finish and when he got the last of the blood off he put the blood covered towel in the bucket and dried her off with a dry one. When he was done drying her off he grab her blankets and covered her up with them and then grabbed the towels and bucket of water and started to head out with Shinji right behind him and when they got out Shinji closed the door softly. Shinji leads him to the kitchen to dump out the bloody water and to throw the towels so after that they head to the living room and plop down on the couch.

 

“So I am guessing you want to know how I did that.” Michael looks over at Shinji who just nods his head.

 

“Yeah I mean not any normal person can do that.” Shinji states to him and all Michael can smirk.

 

“Well I am not like other people see I am not human I am what you would call a Saiyan but the thing is I don't remember where I came from because it's all a blur in my head.” Michael was pointing to his head. “All I remember is that I have the same characteristics as you but the only thing is different is the powers I just showed you.” Shinji actually didn't seem to surprised about this I mean come on he piloted a eight to ten story biomechanical robot and was getting attacked by things that called we called the angels and then he had all of humanities thoughts in his head so why not belief him.

 

“I see so why are you here then?” Shinji still is looking at him.

 

“I have no idea but hey I am here right now so I have nothing to whine about.” Michael says but he started to drift off a little. “I don't know about you but I am getting tired I guess healing your friend took a lot of energy out of me.”

 

“Well you can sleep on the couch if you want I will go grab you a pillow and a blanket hold on a second.” Shinji walks out of the living room and then a minute later comes back with a pillow and a blanket and hands them to him.

 

“Thank you Shinji you are a nice guy I can tell buy the way you looked concerned for your friend Asuka and that girl you were carrying what is her name again…Rei yeah that's it.” Shinji blushed at that the compliment he just I mean he has never been complimented like that before.

 

“Thank you I think I mean Asuka well I don't know what she considers me I mean you saw how she treated us a few hours ago.” Shinji looked at the ground.

 

“She was just mad because she was injured; heck I would be mad to.” Michael said trying to cheer him up some.

 

Shinji was just shaking his head, “no that is what she has always been like ever since I met her so I should tell you now to be prepared for her personality. Rei though I don't what I can say about her right now I mean in the passed before anything happened she was a really quiet person and didn't show any emotions.” He paused for a minute before continuing. “Then after a while we became friends but she still didn't show any emotions except for once when she smiled at me.” Shinji started to smile at the memory.

 

“I can see that you like her.” Michael said in not a teasing manner. Shinji started to blush some.

 

“What…n..n..no I mean I don't…I don't like her like that only as a friend.” Shinji turns around trying to hide his blush.

 

“Well ok man whatever you say but we can talk later I am going to bed I'll talk to you later.” Michael lies down and after a few minutes' falls asleep. Shinji was still standing there trying to gather his thoughts of the day's events.

 

`I guess I can sleep in Misato's room I don't think she would mind.' Shinji walk to her room and opened the door and looked around and smiled that mess that was in it. `Good ole Misato boy do I miss her.' Shinji climbs into the bed and just thinks. `I wonder what is going to happen now what will become of everything. Michael I wonder what he has to do with all this to.' After a few more minutes Shinji finally falls asleep waiting for the next day to come.

 

In some rubble a women suddenly opens her eyes and stands up quickly looking around. “Where am I?” She asks herself. She looks around some more and sees the elevator doors and then a memory comes back to her and she quickly feels her side but feels no pain or doesn't see any blood. “What in the heck is going on here?” Misato Katsuragi says looking at the broken down NERV headquarters.
