Original Poetry Fan Fiction ❯ A teenagers book of depressing poems. ❯ The red rose ( Chapter 6 )

[ P - Pre-Teen ]

As the petals floated in the breeze,
the tears streaming down your face,
a red rose in your hand,
as he left without another trace,

The words he said,
still hung in the air,
the red rose in your hand,
life just wasn't fair,

Your hands fell limply to your side,
as you see his shadow disappearing into the night,
the red rose in your hand,
as your love went out of your sight.

Your tears fell hard to the ground,
as you stare at what he left you,
the red rose in your hand,
and you never made another sound,

The red rose, he said, was proof of his love,
he may never come back,
and if that happens,
he'll always look down from above,

The sad smile on his face,
was what you'll always remember,
you struggled not to cry when he was there,
and tried to hide your tremble,

"I'll never stop waiting,"
was what you had said,
as you held that rose closely,
your heart filled with dread,

He smiled that sad smile,
and slowly walked away,
You never saw him again.
But you're still waiting until today.
