Original Poetry Fan Fiction ❯ A teenagers book of depressing poems. ❯ empty ( Chapter 12 )

[ P - Pre-Teen ]

Your voice, it echoes in my ear,
As I hide behind this smile,
The pretense of cheer,
If you look closely, maybe you'll see,

Something that's empty, me.
As I lay awake in bed, I ponder,
What's it like to disappear?
It can't be much different from this.

Why is the only thing that calms me,
Is the pounding bitter music,
That beats itself against my skull,
Until all is left but naught a thread of thought.

I was so good at blocking all sound,
But now, my barriers are crashing down,
So i run and hide, to avoid the inevitable,
Too late, I'm going, gone, goodbye.
