Original Poetry Fan Fiction ❯ A teenagers book of depressing poems. ❯ Revealing Deceit ( Chapter 18 )
[ P - Pre-Teen ]
Cover my ears,
Shielding myself from their mindless chatter,
Their plastic smiles and lonely eyes,
Knowing that the front they put up,
Don't last very long,
Shield my eyes,
Don't look at their frantic attempts,
To fit in, trying any way they can,
But knowing, they can only buy their friends,
For so long,
Shut my mouth,
Refrain from blurting out the truth,
From telling that they're living a meaningless lie,
But I'll let them live this deceit,
For a little longer.
For telling so, wouldn't do any good,
And would only reveal myself.
I might as well,
Let things go on for a little while longer,
