Chapter 6: Asshole

Sage's P.O.V

Sage walked into homeroom, still fuming from the incident in the hallway. She was sure it was going to be all over the school by the end of the day. She can already hear the rumors spreading about how the new guy wouldn't give her the time of day.
She walked into the classroom; already walking over to the same seat she's had since freshman year, only to find that he was sitting in it. Sage felt her anger from earlier rising again. First, he humiliates her in front of the entire school, now she finds out that, not only is he in her homeroom, but his ass has taken up residents in her chair.
She took a deep breath to calm herself before walking over to him.
“Excuse me, you're in my seat.” She stated in a firm voice, the cheerful tone she addressed him with early now gone.
The demon looked up at her, his expression bored as his eyes shifted to gaze up and down before fixing on her face. A slow grin suddenly appeared on his handsome features.
“Is that so? I'm afraid I didn't see your name on it, sweet cheeks.” he challenged, his grin widening.
Sage gritted her teeth. “I'll have you know that my “sweet cheeks” have occupied that seat for the past 3 years. So please move”.
“Wow, this is really important to you huh? Listen I'm a nice guy, so ima go ahead and ask you…do you want your chair back?” He asked in a serious tone.
“I told you already, yes.” She said, losing her patience.
“Fine,” the demon replied, getting up and handing her his chair before dragging over another one for himself and sitting back down.
Sage looked at him in disbelief, holding the chair he had just given her. She looked down at him again, an irritated look on her face.
“I meant I want back the seat, including the desk,” she said through gritted teeth.
He then looked up at her as if he was truly confused. “But the desk is nailed to the floor,” he evenly stated.
“I KNOW THAT!” Sage yelled, drawing the attention of everyone in the class. She couldn't believe the nerve of this guy. He was such an asshole!
“Ohhhh… I understand now,” he said slowly nodding his head, “yeah…I'm not gonna do that.”
“Why not,” she demanded in a sharp tone.
“Because I like this seat,” he said plainly.
“But it's mine!” she insisted, her voice rising.
“Are there seating arrangements?” he asked.
“No, but—“
“Then it's not yours, now is it?” he retorted as if bored with the conversation.
Sage clenched her fists in anger, trying her hardest to calm down as she felt her power bubbling up inside her, ready to explode. “You have to move,” she said calmly trying to keep her composure.
Suddenly, he shot up from the desk, coming to stand an inch away from her face. His body towered over hers as her eyes locked with his. His pale blue gaze iced over, narrowed dangerously as he glared down at her, his face hard. She took a small step back, though unable to tear her eyes from his, she found herself becoming afraid. The air around him became darker and tense as the room fell silent.
“I don't have…to do anything,” his said, his voice deep taking on a dark tone. Sage stood there, not sure what to do next. Her courage disappeared, leaving her speechless. Seconds went by, but it felt like hours before the silence was broken.
“Alright class, please take your seats.” The teacher called walking into the room.
The demon chose that moment to release Sage from his pricing gaze before turning to take his seat again. She released a breath she didn't know she was holding before finding the only seat left in the class, which was, unfortunately, directly in front of his. As she sat down, she could feel him burning a hole in the back of her head. She didn't know what this guy's problem was with her, but he was turning out to be a real prick.
“Alright everyone, it would seem that we have a new student today,” the teacher began. “Is there a…Chase Williams here?” the woman asked looking down at the attendance sheet.
Sage looked up from her seat to see that everyone was now looking in her direction, not at her, but rather behind her. She turned her head like the others to see who this Chase guy was, only to see the prick himself stand up from his seat.
He stared straight ahead with a blank expression on his face. “Why don't you tell us about yourself,” the teacher happily suggested.
“My name is Chase and I just moved here,” he replied dryly.
“Where you from?” the teacher inquired.
“All over, my family travels a lot,” he answered straightforwardly.
“That must be exciting!” the woman replied cheerfully. She was a ditsy teacher, in her early 30's and was well-liked by the students since she always came off as sweet and understanding. Students rarely gave her a hard time because of this, which is why what Chase said next shocked them all.
“What are your hobbies,” she continued.
Sage could see a brief moment of irritation cross his face but he quickly covered it.
Chase smirked devilishly, “I'm more of a show rather than tell kinda guy. So why don't you keep me after class and I'll demonstrate on you what my hobbies are, sweetheart.” He proclaimed winking at the now flustered teacher.
The woman blushed as students giggled and made quiet “ohhhhhhh” remarks. “That's enough Mr. Williams, please take your seat,” she blurted out before turning to face the chalk board.
Chase grinned before sitting down. Sage rolled her eyes, turning back around in her seat. This guy was unbelievable, but she had to admit…he was extremely hot.
The remainder of the class went by fairly quickly. Students rushed out when the bell rang, hurrying to get to their next class. Luckily for her, she had a free period.
She made her way down the crowed hallway to her locker, opening it and busying herself with putting her stuff away. It was then that she noticed a figure to her right, opening the locker right beside hers. She looked up only to see none other than Chase.
You have got to be kidding me!?” she thought wryly.

Chase's P.O.V
Chase walked down the hall in the direction the teacher told him his locker was in. He got there, only to find his locker right beside the witch.
“My fucking luck,” he though frustratingly, “This…is exactly why I don't like witches, they're fucking annoying.”
In all honestly, he had found their little argument over her stolen seat amusing. That is, until she ordered him to move. And that little bitch was in no position to be dishing out any kind of order in his direction. He was tempted to break her fucking neck right there, but refrained from doing so. Now here she was, yet again, for the 3rd time today.
He approached his locker, putting in the combination before yanking the door open. He had yet to look at the witch, but could feel her eyes on him. They both remained silent, going about their business, until she broke the silence.
“So…Chase huh? That's funny,” she said causally.
He looked down at her, his eyes narrowing slightly. “And why is that funny?”
“Oh, it's just that…you look like more of a “Dick” to me, that's all.” She said with a shrug of her shoulders while putting her books away.
“Is this bitch trying to piss me off?” he thought wanting nothing more than to kill this girl right now, or eat her, whichever came first.
“Sorry to disappoint,” he said dryly. Hoping that their little conversation was now over since she stopped talking, he closed his locker and turned to leave before hearing her speak again.
“So you're gay right?” she asked teasingly.
Chase stopped mid-step, slowly turning back to face her. “What did she just say?” he thought disbelievingly.
At first, shock was written across his face, but he quickly masked it, his expression becoming serious again.
“Yes, I am actually. Do you have a problem with that?” he asked in his most convincing tone.
She gaped at him, slightly taken aback. She wasn't expecting him to say that. “N-no— I was just…I didn't mean…” she stuttered at a loss for words. He arched an eye brow at her, waiting for her to continue.
“It's just that most guys would have hit on me by now…but you didn't…so I just— I was just teasing,” she admitted now blushing lightly.
Chase wanted to laugh at her but decided to play this out and see where it would go. He pretended to awkwardly let his eyes wander, looking anywhere but her as if he just unintentionally revealed a deep, dark secret and now he didn't know what to do.
“Oh…well its true,” he said softly, adding a bashful tone to his voice.
She looked at him intently, as if trying to decide whether or not he was fucking with her. He went out of his way to avoid making eye contact, appearing to be embarrassed by his confession.
“I'm sorry…I didn't mean too—” she started to say but he cut her off.
“No, it's okay. You were right, I was being a real dick to you earlier and I'm sorry. I was just in a bad mood, new school and all.” He explained forcing a timid smile.
“I understand its fine. No hard feelings,” she replied her smile widening into a friendlier one.
“Thanks, I don't think we met earlier, no thanks to me of course,” he said playfully rolling his eyes before throwing her his most charming smile. “I'm Chase.”
“I'm Sage, nice to formally meet you,” she greeted, blushing lightly when his smile widened.
“You too, I'm really sorry about before. I've never been good at making friends. My boyfriend and I just moved here a few days ago, so we don't really know anyone,” he replied resisting the urge to laugh out loud.
“Kel is gonna love this,” he thought giddily imaging his brother's reaction when he finds out.
“Boyfriend…?” Sage hesitantly asked.
“Yeah, that guy I was with this morning. We're kind of in love, you know,” he declared proudly.
“Oh wow…that's….great,” she said quietly, now becoming flustered.
“Yeah, I'll be two years next month. We're so in love, he's my soul mate,” Chase said dreamily smiling to himself.
Sage was now becoming uncomfortable with the way the conversation was going.
“And when we make love—”
“Hey! I really gotta go, but I'll see you around,” she quickly said before turning to walk away.
“Sure, see you around. It was nice meeting you” he said in a fake cheerful voice before waving her off. “What a stupid Bitch,” he thought chuckling lightly as he started walking to his next class, now in a slightly better mood.

Kel's P.O.V

It was the last class of the day and Kel was officially pissed off. So far he had a total of 2 classes with that Panther demon, and the girl just wouldn't leave him alone. During homeroom she tried to introduce herself and start up a conversation, but he paid her no mind. After 20 minutes or so she finally gave up trying to talk to him and decided that she was more than comfortable with simply staring at him for the rest of the period. Not that he minded the staring, because people have been staring at him all day, but there was just something about this particular girl that irritated him.
Kel patiently dealt with the people in this school, and their game of 21 questions all day, and now his patience was finally wearing thin. Not to mention, he hadn't fed properly since the previous night. He was planning on taking the opportunity during the lunch hour to go hunting, but found out that since it was the first day, the classes would be shortened so that a lunch break wasn't necessary. However, Kel couldn't help but think it wasn't short enough.
He let out a sigh before arriving at his last class. The bell had already rung and he was late since he had to step outside for some air. The humans were beginning to look more and more appetizing to him as his hunger intensified throughout the day, and he found that he desperately needed to step away to collect himself before he ended up killing someone right there in the hallway. It would be helpful if he had something, anything, to chew on, which would help take his mind off the hunger, but he didn't have the time to find something.
He walked into the classroom, everyone already in their seats and turning to look at him. At this point, he knew the drill.
“Ah, you must be the other Williams, please join me at the front,” a short old man said waving Kel forward.
“Other Williams?” he thought before scanning the room, his eyes landing on his brother smirking in the back row. Kel found himself sighing in relief, some of his stress leaving him. He was actually happy to see his brother, as annoying as he was sometimes; his presence has always been comforting. As Kel walked to the front of the class, he noticed that he had yet another class with the Panther girl, but this time she had her witch friend with her as well.
Wonderful, all of us in the same class, this should be fun,” he thought sarcastically.
“Class this is our new student, Kel Williams,” the teacher introduced before looking between him and Chase. “Are you two related by any chance?” the man asked.
“Nooo, we just both happen to be new and have the same last fucking name!” Kel thought irately, becoming tired of these people and their stupid questions. He was about to voice his opinion when he heard his brother's voice.
“Yes, he's my younger brother. I'm repeating this grade because the files from my previous school were lost.” He answered before anyone could throw out another question that would force Kel to go insane and slaughter them all.
“Oh, I see. Kel please take a seat,” the teacher replied.
Kel began walking down the aisle, noticing many available seats. The panther demon girl sat one row over to the right directly across from Chase, and in front of her was the witch from this morning. There were two empty seats to the right of both girls, and one beside Chase to his far left. Kel walked straight down to the back where the 3 were seated. As he approached the empty seat beside the Panther girl, she tensed in anticipation hoping he would sit next to her. But Kel continued to walk past her and around to the seat beside his brother. Since the desks in this room were not nailed to the floor, Kel was able to hook his foot around the leg of the desk before sliding it roughly into his brother's desk, dragging the chair with him and plopping down beside Chase.
Kel didn't usually behave like this, but he couldn't help it, HE WAS STARVING! The day wasn't over yet and he knew if he slipped up or snapped during this class, Chase would stop him, which was why he was sitting beside his brother.

Chase's P.O.V
When Chase first arrived in this class, he noticed the witch and her little Panther friend right off the bat. Though, he was pleased to see that neither could quite look him in the eye.
He smirked inwardly. “She must have told her little friend that Kel and I were gay lovers,” he thought clearly amused.
After going through the whole introduction bullshit again he sat down in the back. This class wasn't as tidy as the rest. Desks and chairs were scattered around the room and placed in no particular pattern. The teacher was laid back, allowing the students to talk freely instead of doing work. As he ran through the attendance, Chase heard Kel's name being called.
“He's in this class?” he thought looking around the room, knowing he couldn't have missed him. “Where the fuck is he?” Chase thought frowning. Kel wouldn't have left without telling him; even if something came up, he could just simply reach him through their link. Kel then walked into the room, looking like someone just ate the dog he was saving for later.
The teacher called him to the front to introduce him to the class. Chase watched as Kel slowly relaxed after seeing him. “And I thought I was having a bad day,” he thought dryly. It was true that their day wasn't going the way they had hoped, especially since Scar and the others didn't even show up today, which was the whole point of this entire thing.
Chase watched as his brother walked down the aisle, approaching the seat to his far left. He noticed how Kel dragged the desk roughly against his own, cause it to shake from the impact. He then dragged the chair next to him as well before dropping down lazily into it, making as much noise and drawing as much attention to himself as possible. Everyone was now openly staring at him as he leaned his head on his hand, pressing two fingers to his temple.
“He's hungry.” Chase silently confirmed.
He knew from experience that Kel only acted like this when he was hasn't eaten for a while, which in this particular case, wasn't since last night. This is also the downside of drinking only animal blood, which causes him to become hungry again a lot quicker then he would have been if he had drank human blood instead. When he gets like this, he becomes overly irritated and grumpy, thus throwing the tantrum everyone is witnessing now and earning his right to truly be called the baby in the family.
Chase sent a wave of his energy to his brother, soothing his irritation before digging into his bag and pulling out a pack of twizzlers he had bought earlier and offering one to his brother.
“That should keep your mind off the hunger,” Chase thought to Kel.
“Thanks,” he sent back before putting the candy straw in his mouth, biting off a piece and chewing on it.
“Alright class, today you'll be working in groups. This will also give you a chance to get to know each other,” the teacher explained before making groups of four based on those sitting closest to each other. In the end, Chase, Kel, Sage and Mai were grouped together.
They two girls moved their desks to face Chase's and Kel's, who didn't seem very happy with the arrangement.
Sage looked at Chase, her eyes narrowing. “So, I thought you two were lovers?” she asked suspiciously, getting straight to the point.
Kel choked on the piece of candy he was chewing on before glaring at Sage. “Excuse me?” he asked his voice dark.
“Chase said you guys were gay,” she informed him bluntly.
“That explains why he wouldn't talk to me all day,” Mia added nodding her head in understanding.
“But you told the teacher that you're brothers, so which is it?” she asked, her anger rising with the thought that he was just playing with her before, yet humiliating her for the second time in one day.
“We're both,” Chase replied without missing a beat, “We have a forbidden love. Incest is usually frowned upon, so we try to keep it a secret. But if I am guilty of a crime, it's for loving my brother too much!” he said dramatically, holding his chest. “Don't you agree, my little Kelly-poo?” he asked smirking over at his brother, who was now chewing violently on his twizzler.
“I will kill you.” Kel replied in a quiet yet deadly tone, his face devoid of emotions.
“Oh, he says that now, but when we get home he'll be begging me to suck his—”
“Chase…” Kel slowly warned with a deep growl, his right eye now twitching.
Chase suddenly burst out laughing, deciding that for the sake of what was left of his brother's patience, he should probably stop.
Sage, having realized that the joke was on her, glared heatedly at Chase. “You make me sick.” She hissed at him.
“Like-wise, baby.” He grinned, leaning back in his chair.
“So…you're not gay? Mia asked Kel, receiving a glare in return.
Chase ignored the two before turning back to Sage. “You think just because a guy turns you down that he must be gay. Well I got news for you princess, the sun doesn't rise and set on your conceited ass, and you ain't the only bitch in this school. So I highly suggest you get over yourself and let it the fuck go. Besides…it's not my fault you chose to believe an obvious lie as a pathetic attempt to make yourself feel better because you got rejected.” He stated with a cocky smirk on his face.
The four remained quiet, the air tense as Sage glared furiously at Chase. Her fist clenched at her sides, slightly shaking with pent up anger. Suddenly, all the windows and glass in the classroom shattered. Teacher and students threw themselves to the floor while only four remained unfazed. Kel continued to chew on his candy, watching the exchange between his brother and the witch with interest. He knew his brother could be an ass, but he's never seen him go to such great lengths to anger a woman before. Mia also watched, surprised by her friend's sudden power surge.
That's never happened before,” she thought, watching the two still engaged in their staring match.
Sage tore her eyes away from his, his arrogant smirk still in place. She then glanced around the room at the damage she's caused. What's wrong with her? She's never lost her tempter like this before. Without saying another word, she picked up her bag and ran from the room.
