Forgotten Emotions

Torin woke first while the sun was still setting. Tegan lay smooth and warm beside him on her front, lost in gentle sleep. He smiled, turning to slide his arm over her back and savour her warmth. She sighed in her sleep and rolled over. He had the greatest desire to look at her before this little fantasy turned real ended. He gently pulled the covers down to her waist, and looked lovingly at her naked torso. Either side of her pert breasts laid red scars. He knew both of those wounds. Both from the surgeon's knife and no doubt they saved her life.

Her nipples hardened in the cool air of the apartment. He rested his hand gently on her slim belly as he looked at her face. She lay smiling gently in her sleep, her face towards him. He could see the still red scar at her throat. Battle scars, a testament to her determination and strength. Yes she had such strength; she had stood alone against monsters like him even though it had cost her. She had made the decision to stop running and face Demetriov down, and now look at her. A truly remarkable woman she had become, but she had stood alone without allies for too long. Well no longer. He would do all that he could to keep her safe.

He slid his hand up her body to cup her right breast, a little moan coming from Tegan. She looked content, and he suspected she was beginning to wake up. Feeling mischievous, he bent over her gently to kiss her erect nipple. Her moan told him she was almost certainly awake, so he teased with his tongue. Tegan squirmed beneath him her eyes fluttering open. He sucked at her nipple, delighting at her gasps and moans, taking more of her breast into his mouth as she pushed against him. She cried out as he gently grazed the sensitive nub with his teeth, her legs scissoring beneath the thin duvet. He placed a hand at her groin smiling as she rubbed herself against it.

He turned to see her face, her eyes wide, full of desire. Well perhaps this little fantasy of theirs didn't need to end just yet. She hesitated, unsure as whether she could continue with this, before giving into her desire and grasped his face with both hands, pulling him to her. Her tongue entered his mouth lustily, kissing him greedily; he went with it when she rolled on top of him. His hands slid down the length of her back, grasping her buttocks, kneading them, grinding his hardening member against her. She rolled her head back moaning, and then dived down to kiss the cool velvet of his neck.

Torin groaned; she had him throbbing with need. What had started as a playful tease had turned into heart pounding lust. She kissed him again, her tongue grating against his sharp canines. He thought that he tasted blood, but if she was hurt she showed no sign of it. He ran his fingers through her long hair while she kissed him all the harder. What need he had released in her and it delighted him to fulfil that need. Though unlike the night before, it was her exploring his body, her hands sliding over him making him shiver as her hands ghosted over his sensitive areas. He groaned as she took his length in her hand, starting a lazy motion that sent his needs sky rocketing.

He kissed her hungrily as she worked, letting her do as she will, much as she had given control to him. He kissed at everything he could reach, her shoulders her jaw, her sensitive neck and throat, loving the deep moans he coaxed from her as he went over all the sensitive spots he had discovered the night before. She quickened her pace, her thumb teasing him as she pumped at him. Now this was an act that no matter how long ago it had been, she had definitely performed before. As she started to bring him too close to the edge for comfort he grasped her wrist hard, silently warning her to stop.

She sat up straddling his hips, looking into his mesmerising green eyes. There she saw all she wanted to see. Not only did she see lust in his eyes, she saw love. She lifted herself up and eased him inside her. She closed her eyes, unable to control the moan rising from her throat as they became one. They moved together, one once more, though Tegan was definitely the one in control, for now. His hands grasped her hips gently but firmly, guiding her strokes as she impaled herself on him. She looked into his eyes as she thrust harder for a moment, delighting in the moan he could not suppress.

As she rocked he began to rub his thumb over the most sensitive part of her, increasing her pleasure tenfold. Her moans turned to cries as pleasure ran through her in waves. With his added attention she could not hold back her climax, gasping, moaning, and crying out as she collapsed on his chest. He wrapped himself around her and still joined rolled her onto her back. He held her wrists against the pillows sliding out of her and began to tease and stoke her desire once more. She moaned, squirming, trying to reach him, to feel him filling her once more. Oh it was driving her made, sensitive from her release his teasing was far too much for her. Finally she could stand it no more.

“Torin for god's sake fuck me!”

“My pleasure!”

He pushed himself in as deep as he could, his thrusts hard and fast, Tegan delighting in the sudden fulfilment of her desire. This was not to be the tender coupling of the night before, but the fulfilment of a deeper animalistic desire. She writhed against him as he held her pinned down, the imprisonment heightening the experience for them both. He took her hard and fast until they both climaxed together, Tegan quivering beneath him. She fought to catch her breath, but it was delicious having to do so. Her legs wrapped round him, locking them together she held him inside her, never wanting the feeling of fulfilment to end.

“Mmm.” She breathed. “You can wake me up like that every day.”

Torin smiled, merely kissing her neck in reply. It wasn't like he had planned it, but it had certainly been the most pleasurable lovemaking he had experienced in some time. He rolled off her taking a deep breath. She nuzzled into his chest, thinking about what she had unwittingly just said. Did she really mean it? They could hardly go on like this could they, they were from different worlds, worlds that fought against each other, killed each other. And yet she didn't want to let this go. One more night her heat was telling her, just one more night. But she knew that this was a ridiculous fancy.

“What time is it?” She asked.

“I'm not sure, but the sun has set.” He felt her tense against him. “What is it?”

“You'll have to go and this will be over.” She said firmly, her demeanour toward him suddenly cold. It was contrary to what her heart wanted but it was the way things had to be. She got up putting on a dressing gown. She walked to the window, opening the curtains a fraction and looking out at the world outside. She seemed so sad, and yet he knew in some way that she was right, but that didn't mean that he wasn't going to fight to keep her for just one more night.

“It doesn't have to end tonight.” He said, putting on his boxer shorts.

“Really?” She sighed. “You and I both know we can't carry on like this. We are polar opposites, supposed to hunt each other. You are a vampire, I'm mortal, that alone should be reason enough to stop this. Then there is the fact I kill your kind and that I am hunted myself. This shouldn't happen.”

“But it is.” He replied softly. He stood behind her, wrapping his arms around her shoulders. She closed her eyes, savouring the closeness. Oh she should be pushing him away right now, her heart and her head at odds.

“There has always been something between us, hasn't there?” He asked quietly.

Tegan thought about it, and no she couldn't deny it. He had never been able to hurt her, and ever since the night at the hospital it had become more defined. It was sudden, but all the signs had been there.

“Is it enough, is it enough to carry us despite the odds, the things against us?” She mused.

“You thought so earlier.”

Damn, that had been a mistake that was for sure, but with his teasing she found herself giving in, and she could feel herself starting to give in now. She let the curtain go, turning to face him, trying not to think about how good it felt to have his hands slide round her waist.

“I don't want to mislead you. We both know this is wrong. It's been wonderful, but it has to end.”

He took her face in his hand gently. “Does it, does it really? What does your heart tell you? Don't tell me that you don't feel something for me, I know that would be a lie.”

“I don't want to get into a situation where we are just bed partners, using each other to get by. It would degrade us both. And as for my feelings…I'm really not sure. Its all so sudden, so confusing.”

“It's been a while, the emotions feel strange after so long. Trust me, I know.”

She smiled bitterly and rested her head against his shoulder. He wrapped his arms around her and it felt so good. Why the hell did something so wrong have to feel so right? Then she started to think about how she had been denied this, isolated by cruel circumstance. Why the fuck couldn't she have something of her own? Even if they were fooling themselves, they both wanted this, needed each other, and in time… No best not to think about that now. For now… for now she was going to let herself enjoy what they had, no matter what it was, no matter how much it was a fantasy that was doomed to collapse around them at some point.

“There's going to be so many complications.” She stated.

“I know.”

“I mean, you're a vampire, I'm supposed to be killing you.”

“It's not going to be easy.” He agreed.

“I could die in any fight.”

“We both know the risks.”

“And then there is Demetriov.”

“Ah, yes.” Torin had forgotten about that little eventuality. “He's not going to be pleased when he finds out.”

“I think not. You think he will come after me for this? We both know his intentions towards me, and I imagine he is the very jealous type.”

“I will do my best considering that I know you are not going to stop hunting vampires just because of me. That in itself is going to make things difficult, and I will do everything in my power to keep him from you. Though you need to stay away from him too.”

“True. What of his promise?”

“I know it's what he intends and I doubt this will change that. I will stop him if I can. He's obsessed with you, I don't know why. But he is patient, if I know him at all, which I should; I don't think that he would make his move for some time yet.”

“Then we had best enjoy what time we have.” She said softly, that one statement encapsulating so much for them.

He squeezed her tight. It felt so good to have her in his arms. He had slept with a large number of women in his time, but none of them had made him feel like this. He had no doubt that he had fallen for her completely, and soon he would have to face the consequences.

“I'd best go.” He said sadly.

She nodded. She watched sadly as he dressed. It felt so good to have someone and yet she had so many doubts and worries at the same time. He took her into his arms again.

“Don't worry. We will face it together. I'm not saying that it's going to be easy, but we will get through it.”

She smiled as he squeezed her gently against him. His lips met hers in a slow, lingering kiss. With that he turned and left the apartment. She turned to the window and looked through the curtains to see him leave. It heartened her to see him look back. Still, the next few days would be interesting.

Torin hesitated as he approached the mansion. There was no doubt in his mind that the confrontation would happen immediately. He was certain that he had been watched when he went to Tegan's. The fact that he had not come home would be incriminating enough. He took a deep breath and stepped inside. All was quiet and he was certain that most would be on the hunt. On the whole none of them really enjoyed each other's company and preferred to spend the night elsewhere, returning only to sleep within the mansion's comforts.

He stepped into the main salon where the fire was burning. He didn't see the attack coming, a fist hammering into his stomach, his face blossoming with pain as he was struck. Demetriov's punch had come out of nowhere and he had certainly broken a bone or two. Staggering from the blow Torin collapsed to his knees, waiting for more to follow. Demetriov's attack was fierce, blows raining down on him, being kicked hard over and over. He had been so surprised by the attack he had no time to retaliate while Demetriov took out his anger on him.

When the attack finally stopped, and the pain had ebbed a little, he lifted his head to see Demetriov standing by the fire with his back to him.

“Is she a good fuck?” He asked acidly.

“What?” Torin thought he had misheard.

“I said is she a good fuck?” Demetriov's tone was tinged with anger.

“Demetriov I…”

“Don't play games with me Torin.” Demetriov whirled round, his anger now obvious. “I knew something was up with you, so yesterday after sunset I followed you. Funnily enough you didn't return this morning.”

“I wasn't going to deny it; I am just not going to answer disgusting questions like that.” Torin replied evenly as he got to his feet.

Demetriov took a deep breath and sat down.

“How did it come to this?” He sighed. “Have I missed something? I know the two of you have never been adversaries but this.”

“No, it happened so suddenly. I don't even know how it came to this myself, it was not my intention when I went to her last night.”

“You've always had a soft spot for the girl.” Demetriov growled.

“She's no girl.” Torin snapped.

“Well you would know.”

Demetriov smiled as Torin's eyes flashed with the first sparks of anger. Yes, that was better, let him feel some of what he was feeling. How dare he take what he had already marked as his? And the worst thing was he knew she would fall under his spell so easily. He knew that charm, that wit, and he was so very skilled in the act of love. Ah yes, he had fallen for Torin's charms himself so he knew. Though this only made the game more interesting. He knew how distraught Torin would be when he fulfilled his promise to her, how it would tear him apart. Fitting punishment for his indiscretion. So let them have their time together. He would tear them apart later and have what he wanted, and it would make his victory all the sweeter.

He smiled wryly, putting on a calm façade to hide the boiling anger that festered in his heart.

“Though I have my own obsession with her so I suppose I have no right to judge.” There was something he needed to know. “You love her don't you?”

“Yes.” Torin replied quietly.

Ah yes, and that made it so much easier to break him when the time came. Love, an emotion that was so easily used against someone. It seemed that no matter how unintentionally Tegan had lured his ex-lover into her trap that he was well and truly ensnared.

“And how does she feel about you?” He was genuinely calmer now as the plans began to form in his mind.

“She's not sure. It's all been so sudden, and it's been so long for her.”

“Even more so for you, though that was self imposed.” He chuckled bitterly.

“Don't flatter yourself Demetriov. We finished a long time ago and you know why.”

“Certainly. The amorous son of a lord couldn't handle it when his lover started sleeping around. Can't take your own medicine.” He retorted.

Torin snorted in disgust. “I've changed a lot over the years.”

“Not as much as you think.”

Silence fell between them, Torin massaging his healing cheek. Demetriov watching him coolly, his temper now back in check.

“You know that I'm not going to let her off the hook just because you have jumped into bed with her.”

Torin nodded. “I will protect her.” He replied evenly.

“I have no doubt that you will try, but no matter. There is going to be an outcry when the others find out, and I suspect that there will be others who will want to hurt you.”

“I would expect them to be less restrained.”

“It was less that you deserved. You are a fool Torin. It will all end in tears between you. A relationship like this has never been able to last.”

“If given the chance we might.”

Oh yes, Torin was in deep. Perhaps a few home truths would be good to set the scene of his supposedly resigned acceptance. He would lure Torin into a false sense of security.

“Don't fool yourself. As she gets older she will be unable to fight and she becomes vulnerable. If she renounces the life she has chosen, which I severely doubt that she will, and you can protect her, what then? Will you love her still as she grows older and her looks fade? Think about it, in that case she may meet the same fate I plan for her at your hands.”

Torin shook his head. Unpleasant as it was, he knew Demetriov was right.

“It doesn't matter now. We will face it when the time comes.”

Demetriov chuckled to himself. Oh this was going to be so easy. Let them get close to each other, let them get so involved that they don't see it coming. Well this was going to make the hunt so much sweeter. Hmm, now to start to cement their bond.

“Still, I would keep a low profile for a while. Going back to her for a few days wouldn't hurt. It would help you get your thoughts together and keep you out of the way till tempers have cooled. Besides, I too want to see her happy, and being around her would help her sort out her feelings.”

Happy, oh yes he wanted her happy alright, though she would be happy with him. But for now allow her this respite; it may make her stronger, which made the final hunt even more delicious.

“With any luck she will realise how foolish you are both being and end this affair before it has really begun. I have no desire to see her get hurt by you.”

“I would never hurt her.”

Unseen Demetriov grinned darkly. “Never say never Torin. You may find that it is a promise you can't keep.”

With that Demetriov left him. The confrontation had been brief, but Demetriov spoke a lot of painful truths. He longed to forget about this and he longed for her company. He decided to take Demetriov's advice and headed back to her.

Demetriov watched as Torin entered the apartment building for the second night in a row. He had no doubt that Tegan would fall willingly into his arms. She was a woman and they all had the terrible habit of falling into the arms of the wrong man. His anger simmered inside him but it was of no consequence. He had made her a promise and he was a man of his word. And now things had gotten so much more interesting. He could use them against each other to break them, him in punishment for this, and her, her if she refused to bend to his will later on. He would make her a vampire and she would come to him willingly, or she would die.

Author's notes:
Ah yes, Demetriov is flexing his muscles now, plotting and planning. Things start to build up now, but that's the best bit. Can you feel the tension people? Anyways, till next time my dears.
