Chapter 9

John felt so bad about everything that had happened two weeks ago. He had tried just about everything to tell Megan he was sorry, but she wouldn't listen. She always just walked away if he came near or if he tried to talk to her. And with that he soon started to give up on apologizing, but Bryan had kept telling him not too.
It feels like that day again. The day my heart was broken. The day everything did a flip and fell. Why did it have to happen again? But instead of a note and him turning me down face to face. He asked me to the dance then told a new girl that he liked her. Why me? Am I cursed to never find the right guy or is it just that I'm wrong. That I'm just not the perfect kind of girl for them. I thought he really liked me, but I guess I was wrong. Megan thought as she walked with Samantha along the beach. Samantha had blown off a date with Tony and he understood why. Samantha and Megan needed some alone time. Since the dance Megan had barely been paying attention to anything. Her grades had gone down and she had gotten hurt more. Mainly by running into things with out looking. And this was all because of John. This made Samantha mad more then ever.
First she falls for Brandon, Tony's best friend, who couldn't blame her for falling for him. He was handsome and smart. The perfect guy for Megan. They had so much in common. But he had to turn her down. Without even getting to know her. He just looked at her and thought she wasn't beautiful or nice or anything else. He just saw right through her! And now, now John has to go and fall for some British girl! Gosh Megan and John were so cute together. Everyone thought they would get together, and the dance would have proved it, but he decides to go outside and chat it up with his British girlfriend! I hate boys right now, well mainly those two for right now at least. Samantha thought angrily. She couldn't understand why any guy would turn down her best friend. And while both of them were thinking their own thoughts Bryan had come up behind Megan and had covered her eyes. Megan took his hands off of them. She looked up at Bryan and he smiled.
“Sorry about John. I guess he never really got over Ally, that Britain girl. The one that keeps hanging around him.” He said he knew that if Megan wouldn't listen to John then maybe she would listen to him. Megan nodded with a frown on her face.
Samantha didn't seem to happy with what Bryan said. But then again she wasn't happy with anything that had happened in the last few weeks. So she just shook her head and kept walking, very angry. Megan stayed back with Bryan as he apologized for John. Megan began to understand, but still wouldn't forgive him, not yet at least.
John was walking near the beach that day. The beach was really all that could remind him of Megan. And he was also there to try and avoid Ally, but that didn't turn out like he wanted it to. Because she had followed him there, she didn't really care about his feelings for Megan. She just cared about her own.
Megan looked up from the ground to Bryan then saw Ally standing there talking to someone. Who she knew was John. John looked over at Megan and gave her a small smile then turned his attention back to Ally. To Megan it looked like they were arguing about something, but she couldn't make sure that was true. Megan felt really hurt and couldn't bear to see them. So she turned around, grabbed Bryan by the arm, and walked over to a smoothie place on the campus. They walked into Seepless Smoothie and Bryan ordered two Strawberry smoothies for them. While Bryan was ordering, Megan went ahead and found a table, or booth, by the window.
When Bryan came back with the drinks Megan was looking out the window. Her hands were in her lap and there was a sad expression on her face.
“You sure you're okay with John?” he asked her. Megan just gave him a nod. I'm fine with my heart being broking into pieces. Yeah sure that works.
Bryan and Megan drank their smoothies in silence. Then they left about ten minutes later, Bryan went ahead and left t go look fro someone after saying good by to Megan. After Bryan had left Megan went ahead and walked around the campus.

Samantha had finally cooled down after Bryan and Megan left. She hadn't seen them leave, though, so she went back to her dorm thinking Megan was there. But to her surprise and disappointment Megan was not there. So she began to freak out. She tried to calm down, again, but that wasn't working so well this time. She walked out of the dorm then started to ask around where Megan might be, but no one knew where she was. So that made Samantha worry even more, which made her look around for a long time. When it was getting dark she started to feel very down, tired, and began to feel that she should just give up.
She probably hurt herself. Samantha thought, holding back tears. She walked up to the girls' building steps slowly. She was thinking about her friendship with Megan and all the good and bad things that had happened between them. And also she thought about how both of them were always there for each other.
When she finally got up to her dorm room, she was crying softly. The room was dark when she had entered the room and didn't notice the figure by the window. She slowly turned on the light and quickly saw Megan sitting on the window sill.
“Megan!” She cried looking at her friend. Megan looked over at Samantha, she smiled and waved. Samantha ran over to her and gave her a big hug. “You scared the living light out of me!” She said wiping the tears from her eyes. Megan titled her head to the side, confused by her friend's tears.
“I'm sorry; it's just that you scared me. I thought… I thought you had killed yourself, or something,” Samantha said as more tears formed. Megan put a hand on her friend's shoulder and gave her a hug.
I wish I could tell you everything is okay and everything will be okay. And that you have nothing to worry about because nothing bad will happen to me or anyone else, but that would be a lie. Megan thought, wishing she would just talk, but she was still refusing to do so.
A few minutes later Megan, as well as, had tears in her eyes. She knew what was wrong with her. She had done the same thing before when they were in grade school still. It was just her problem, and she always wished Samantha wouldn't find out. She didn't want this to happen every time they weren't in sight of each other.
The two girls cried for a little while then they finally stopped a few minutes later. Samantha stood up from Megan's bed and walked over to her side drawer. She pulled out her night clothes out and changed. Megan did the same and when she was done, she just sat on her bed looking out the window. After Samantha had changed, she showed Megan a bracelet Tony had given her. And after that they soon were fast asleep.

John sat on his bed fingering a stripped box. He gave a sigh as he looked over at his roommate, who was just doing some lat minute homework. John's roommate stopped for a little while.
“Who's that box for John?” He asked.
“A girl,” John replied not looking up.
“Which girl? That cute British girl Ally or that silent one? What's her name?”
“Her name's Megan,” John said a little angry.
“Whoa, man. Calm down. She's that important?”
“Yeah she is. And I totally blew it with her,” John said with a softer voice.
“Well then, dude. You need to clear everything up with her.”
“Yeah I know, but she wont' listen to me. Ally keeps hanging around me.”
“Then loose her. Tell her to leave you alone.”
“I would, but she would just start a scene.”
“I hate it when girls do that.”
“I think we all do man,” John said then there was a knock on the door.
Both boys looked at each other in confusion. “Why don't you get it Michael?” John asked. Michael didn't object, but just stood up and went to the door. As Michael answered the door John quickly put the box away. John got off his bed to see who Michael was talking to. He heard a familiar laugh and voice. Jamie, John thought. He sighed and stood behind Michael.
“What do you want Jamie?” John asked annoyed.
“Nothing really John.” She replied twisting a piece of her hair on her finger.
“Well then move along and stop flirting with my friends.” John said while trying to close the door.
“Wait,” Jamie said stopping the door with her foot.
“What?”
“Come outside. It's a family matter.”
“Fine,” John said stepping outside and closing the door behind him. “What do you want?”
“It's about Megan and Ally,” John didn't answer. He just stood there looking at his twin sister.
“How could you just leave Megan like that? I mean you knew her longer then Ally!” John still didn't answer.
“Megan's a nice girl and you know that. Ally isn't though. She doesn't car about anything, unlike Megan. Just think for once John!” Jamie said and left. John sighed, then opened the door and stepped inside. Michael had asked him something, but he didn't hear it. John just kept his head down and got ready for bed.

The next morning Megan and Samantha had gotten up around 7 O' clock. They got ready for school and caught the early bus. They weren't the only ones on the bus though; Jamie and Mina were on the bus as well. Samantha dragged Megan over so they could sit together. The three girls began to talk, but Megan just starred out the wind. The bus began to move and they were off to school.
As he girls took off for school the boys were just waking up. And they had to hurry up to get ready, eat breakfast, and catch the 7:30 bus. The guys almost didn't make, they had about 10 seconds to spare, luckily. When John got on the bus her quickly looked for Megan, but didn't see her. So he took a seat next to Bryan, so that Ally couldn't sit next to him.
When they arrived to school John quickly went to his homeroom and sat down. I won't be able to see her until 4th period or lunch. He thought opening his text book as class started. John really hated school today he wanted to talk to Megan and apologize, but their class schedules were different. So he only got to see her 2 times in the school day.
Fourth period came quickly to Megan, but painfully slow to John. John had rushed into the room to find out that Megan want there yet. He sighed and waited impatiently for her. The bell had rung right when Megan walked in. She quickly found her seat and sat down, all the while John cursed under his breath. He slid down in his chair so that the teacher didn't notice him.
When lunch came along John waited outside the cafeteria, carefully so that Ally didn't se him. He was, of course, waiting for Megan. A few minutes later, of waiting, and she was in line. John gave a sigh of relief and quickly got inline behind her. He was quiet for awhile then started to apologize, but Megan didn't look at him. She just paid for her food and left the line quickly. John sighed, shook his head, paid for his food, and went to find his friends.
Ally had spotted John, as he found his friends. Once she caught up to him, she dragged him to an empty table. Megan saw this and quickly looked away. She was really feeling sad, about this. Samantha noticed her friend's behavior and quickly saw John. That sent her temper through the roof.
After school Samantha kept an eye on John. When they got back to the dorms, Samantha dragged John away. And well she literally did. After they had gotten off the bus, Samantha go hold of John's shirt and dragged him away from everyone.
“Ow, Samantha will you let go of me please?” John said as he was pulled away, tripping over things.
“No,” Samantha replied angrily.
Samantha didn't stop dragging John until about ten minutes later, when they came to a place where no one ever came near. Once there Samantha loosened her grip on John's shirt, but didn't totally let it go. She started to tell John of how restless Megan had been.
“I know that you like that British girl and all, but you could at least tell Megan how you feel.” Samantha told him. “I mean you asked her to the dance then just dump her that night!”
“But I don't like Ally as much as I did before.”
“Yeah, right.”
“No seriously. I don't.”
“Keep talkin.”
“When I went to London with Bryan, I never knew what I would be in fore. When ally came up to us in the mall and started flirting I guess Megan just slipped my mind for a moment. But before I left London I still had Ally on my mind, but Megan in my heart. I even got her some really nice things to show that I loved her.”
“So you admit you like like her.”
“I love her.”
“That's what I said.”
“No you didn't.”
“Yes I did.”
“No.”
“Yes.”
“Okay stop. Girls confuse me to much already.”
“Yeah, whatever,” Samantha said letting go of John's shirt. John turned around and began to walk away. Samantha chased after him and walked by his side.

Back at the dorms Megan was reading under a tree. She wasn't really caring anymore about what was happening, but she really wanted to now what was going on in John's head. She had a sad face on when Dylan came by. He just glanced over at her then kept moving. Of course he didn't care what was going on in Megan's head, she was his step-sister and he could care less about her. Megan wasn't' really paying attention and didn't see Dylan come by, but she did see Ally coming towards her.
“Hello there,” Ally said in her British accent. “You must be Megan that I have been hearing so much about.” Megan looked at her and nodded.
And you must be that witch named Ally, Meagan thought, but forced a small smile towards her.
“You must be heart broken that John fell for me. But really who wouldn't? They would be crazy not to! Don't' be down because I'm better looking. All is fair in love and war and sadly the war is over for you.” Ally said. Megan just smirked at her trying to keep from strangling Ally.
I so hate you more now. First it was the guy I like and now you just have to rub it in! Megan thought fiercely, but kept smiling as Ally turned to leave. Megan was thankful that she could keep from talking or that might have turned ugly.
A few minutes later Megan stood up to go walking, but as she was bout to leave her spot Sam and John came by. She gave them both a small smile which Samantha returned, but John just gave her a nod and walked away. Megan's smile quickly faded and she just gave John a sad face. She watched him walk away, just like she had done before. She then walked down to the beach and Samantha followed after her.
