Karaka stepped into the detention room with an air of confidence about her. However she was caught off guard seeing the Principal standing in there, with all the lights on. The normal routine was that a staff member would stand outside, the lights in the room already off, then close the door on her. Karaka kept the grin on her face, but on the inside felt apprehensive of what was to come. The silence crept into Karaka's heart and began squeezing. She closed the door behind her, the loud slam a little startiling to them both. It did send a crack into the harsh silence however, which calmed Karaka down a little. The Principal sat with one leg resting upon the other, a menacing glare in his eyes, Karaka returning it with a challenging, detirmined glare.
Karaka caustiously walked past the Principal, taking a seat at a desk nearest the wall. She ran her hand through her hair quickly, showing no signs of distress. The principal continued his stare for several moments, Karaka wrapping her finger in her hair, every now and then glancing back at the Principal. The Principal played with his thumbs, which Karaka took a brief notice of.

"If you're going to just sit there and not do anything I'm going to sleep, you're boring me" said Karaka. The principal tried to retain a steady pose but Karaka saw a brief change in him, his thumbs stopped moving for a second, donning a surprised look on his face for about a second.

Karaka's foot was now tapping, a smug look on her face. The clock continued to tick, the ticking becoming louder. "Karaka, there are rules in place in society, and we must follow these rules. Only in the most extreme situation are we allowed to bend them, and in this case, I have been granted permission. After sending a review of your behaviour to the School Board, they will allow me to use physical discipline on you. They recognize you for the threat you are, a threat to the stability of society. You will be made an example of" said the Principal. Karaka stood up.
The Principal stood still for a moment. Karaka kept that smug smile on her face, the Principal cracking his knuckles threateningly, Karaka letting out a yawn. The Princiapl stormed over towards her, grabbing her by the shirt, holding her face to his. Karaka kept the smile on her face, the Principal bringning his fist back. He seemed to hesitate, the veins in his wrists and even on his forehead bulging.
"I'm waiting" said Karaka seriously. All the rage inside flushed out, and with a dream like feeling, he swung with all his might. Clear across the face, with such force the Principal nearly fell over. His eyes kept to the floor, panting and sweating profusely, with the disposition of a rabid animal that was about to be put down. He looked up at Karaka, staring in disbelief at the sight before him. Karaka remained standing, her head slightly move to the side. She moved it back to look at him. Karaka stuck her tounge out at him, the Principal drawing his hand back and slapping her across the face. Again, Karaka didn't even move, her head slightly tilted to the side.

"You don't fall, you don't cry out, what is with you girl! That one punch should've near killed you!" he yelled.
"Oh, you didn't know? I'm special" said Karaka. The Principal stared at Karaka with a blinding rage, his hands clutching at his hair, almost tearing it right out. The sweat accumilated in greater quantity, to the point it began getting in his eyes. His hands were placed on the desk, staring at it while trying to maintain composure. Karaka was kept in place by the bindings of curiousity toward the next move of the Principal,

The principal brushed his arm across his face, then proceeded to tidy up his suit to maintain appearence. "A Special huh? So, you're a mistake, a good for nothing mistake! Doctors can actually kill new born girls that they can show evidence may develop unique abilities, did you know that Karaka?" asked the Principal.
Karaka donned an expression of disgust onto her face, leaning up against the wall. What the hell is wrong with these people? How can anyone condone something like that?
"Of course, as you demonstrate, it's not one hundred percent effective. In fact, there's a fifty/fifty chance of finding out for certain. It's for the good of the world" said the Principal.
"It's for the good of you" said Karaka.
"So, you wouldn't care if I told the other students? They would tell their parents, it would be hell for you" said the Principal. Karaka shrugged. "They don't think much of me as it is, and if they bother me, I'll kick their asses, and spend more time in here with you" responded Karaka.

"I, and others, would've been a lot better off if you had never been born, you wretched, vile garbage. Teachers complain about you as much as I do, especially the gym teacher! He keeps asking when you're going to get expelled, but I never do because I assumed I could break that shell of mischief and find an obdient girl! Now I see what you are at your core, that beneath that shell is trash, bottom feeding trash! You're just like him, that other guy who thought he could be fresh with me because he was special! You may think you're special now, but you'll never reach anything beyond a house wife, don't fool yourself! Forget about your powers, they won't do anything for you!" ranted the Principal.
"So, can I go now?" asked Karaka. The Principal gave her a bitter nod, Karaka walking out. The Principal sat down and slumped back with a sigh, his head facing up towards the ceiling. The ceiling lights shined down upon him, almost like they were staring at him.
Another one of those people. The last one was a boy though, and he was even more uncontrollable and deplorable. Damn you to hell Kain Bourne, and damn you to hell too Karaka Slater!

The halls still held quite the number of students, all after school for whatever particular reason, sports, studying, she didn't know and didn't too much care. Karaka walked out as prideful as she had ever felt in her life. As soon as she opened the door and stepped outside, the sunlight burst upon her like an attacker, Karaka stretching out her arms to catch the satisfying breeze that came to greet her with the sunlight. Her eyes adjusted to the sun light, now able to see fully again. Damien and Beth were both standing side by side, Damien the first to turn around. "That didn't take long" said Damien. Beth turned around.
"You're still here?" asked Karaka. "We wanted to see how this excrusion was going to go. You seem quite delighted, how did it go?" asked Damien.
"I broke the poor guy. Told you I would" said Karaka.
"No way, you serious?" asked Beth. "Well, there's something I'd thought I would never hear. Say, is that a slight mark on your face?" asked Damien. A small red mark was on Karaka's cheek where the Principal had hit her.
"He hit you!" gasped Beth. Karaka rubbed her cheek, barely even feeling the sting. Then she giggled, shrugging. "Didn't even hurt that much. He's behind me now, let's go" said Karaka. The three of them walked away, Karaka then going into a near run, Damien keeping up while Beth struggled to keep up. They threw out the laughs and kept on the smiles, running through the roads of crowded people.
