Original Stories Fan Fiction ❯ Bunny Miles ❯ Vol 2: Chap 7. Job Hunting ( Chapter 7 )
That evening, Bunny got a knock on her bedroom door. "Come in." said she. Clint opened the door. Bunny looked up. "Hai?" she asked. "I've got great news!" said the priest. "What is it?" the young woman asked. "I've got you a job." Clint said proudly. Bunny took it the wrong way! "If you're going to have me as a slave, you can just forget it! I'm not doing that because…!" she yelled. "As a florist." Clint cut her off. "Oh." said Bunny. She felt stupid for jumping to conclusions.
Three days later, Clint got a phone call. "Moshi Moshi." Clint answered. "Raionhitsujikai-san?" the operator asked.
"This is he. Hai?"
"You called about a vacant building up for lease, am I correct?"
"Hai san. Why?"
"We'll give you the building. We just need you to come by and sign the papers."
"Okay, I'll be busy tomorrow. So when would be a good time come by sign the papers?"
"You must sign the papers within two weeks san."
"Arigato."
Then Clint hung up. "Bunny's getting a payroll!" he thought in joy.
The next day, Clint went downtown to check out the building. Although it was old, the building sure looked new. All it need was to be cleaned up. So the priest called the boys, they came over, and got to work.
That evening, Clint gave Bunny a tour of building. "So what do you think?" asked the priest. Bunny was stunned in joy. "I'll take it!" said she.
Soon, Tsuki Hana was open for business. Bunny was getting customers in flocks every single day. All was great, until one costumer came along.
His name was Norio and he was a slave hunter. Norio came by one morning. Bunny had a cold feeling when he first walked in. Like he was a threat to her. But she knew she had to stay positive. "Ohayou gozaimasu san." she said. "Ohayou gozaimasu to you too." Norio said. "How may I help you today?" Bunny asked him. "I want a special looking bouquet for tonight." the slave hunter answered. "All right. Casual or fancy?" the florist asked. "Real fancy." Norio answered. "How big do you want it?" Bunny asked. "Very big." said he. "Okay. Any flowers in particular?" the woman asked. "Oh, just roses, mums, and cherry blossoms." Norio answered. "Okay." said Bunny. Then, she took out her pink notepad and began writing down his order. As she was writing, something caught Norio's eye. Bunny had a slave's tag on her wrist. "She's a slave!" he thought. "Okay, I'll have your bouquet done real quickly." she said cheerfully. "Okay, sure." said Norio. Then Bunny ran to the back. While she was gone, Norio called his cell phone. All seemed good when Bunny came back with the flowers. "You do ikebana so perfectly." Norio complemented. "Arigato." Bunny said with a smile. "Too bad you won't be doing it anymore." the slave hunter thought. Then he left. "I think he knows!" she thought in fear.
The next day, Bunny got a call from the government. They said they were going to shut her down because she was a run-away slave. Bunny became scared.
Her fear lasted until Friday when Clint had some great news.
"Bunny." said the priest Friday night. "Hai Clint?" Bunny asked. "It's about your job." said he. "I'm going to lose it right?" she asked frantically. "I signed the papers. The building is mine and you get to keep your job." Clint explained. Every word sank into Bunny's head. A smile spread across her face. "Domo arigato Clint!" she yelled. Then she gave him a big hug. "Hai. Hai." said Clint softly.
So Tsuki Han was open for good.
