Lake Trip
*Two weeks ago*
"Bunny." Clint called out as he walked into the door of his house. "Welcome home Clint." Bunny answered as she rushed to greet. "Arigato ai." he said. "I have a surprise for you." Bunny's emerald eyes grew big. "Oh, what is it?" asked she. "You'll see soon." the priest answered. Then he headed down the hall. Bunny was lost. "When?" she called after him. "In two weeks." Clint answered. Then the door closed down the hall. A shot of excitement entered Bunny. She just couldn't wait.
*Now*
Bunny sat in the car trembling. "Why is he taking me here?" she thought. "Don't worry." said Clint. "Everything's going to be okay." Then he reached over and rubbed her cheek. Bunny felt a little better. But she was still scared.
*Yesterday*
Viki stood outside Bunny's door. She was jealous and wanted to cause Bunny trouble. Viki knocked on the door. Bunny looked up from cleaning her room. "Oh hi, Viki." she said. Viki didn't say a word. Bunny went on cleaning. "So," Viki began. Bunny didn't look up. "Heard Clint's got a surprise for you." Vik continued. "Uh-huh." Bunny answered, not looking up. "I see." said Viki. Bunny kept cleaning. "But…." Viki started up. "Do you know what it is?" Vik continued. Bunny stopped cleaning and looked up. "Nai," she answered. "I don't know." "Uh-huh." said Viki. "Well, I hear Clint was taking you to the lake." Bunny was frozen stiff. Viki saw her face go pale. "Just thought I'd share." Vik said. Then she walked out of the room.
"This is perfect!" Viki thought. "When tomorrow comes, that little whore will be so displeased, that Clint will be so heart-broken, she'll have to leave!" She laughed hysterically as she left.
*Now*
Clint stopped the car once they got to the lake. Bunny turned pale at the site. "It' okay ai," said Clint. "Don't let Viki spoil our day." Bunny nodded. "Good." the priest replied. Then he got out of the car and Bunny reluctantly followed.
*Last Night*
Clint received a knock on his bedroom while he was studying the readings of Buddha. "Come in." said he. The door opened. The priest looked up to see Bunny in the doorway crying. Concern flooded him. "Bunny," Clint spoke up. "What's wrong?" She didn't answer. Instead, Bunny ran to him and fell beside him. "What's wrong?" Clint asked again. She told him what Viki said. Clint became sour. "Don't pay her any mind!" he snapped. "But the trip….. *Sniff*" Bunny whimpered out. Clint grabbed her hands. His lady friend looked up. "We'll go anyway!" the priest spoke up. Bunny nodded but her fear still remained.
*Now*
The couple made it to the dock. Bunny was nervous. A white boat was waiting for them. Clint stepped in. Bunny was frozen stiff. "Come on Bunny." Clint spoke up. "It's okay." Bunny hesitated at first. Then she began taking small slow steps. Clint waited patiently. At long last, Bunny made it to the boat and climbed in. "It will be okay." Clint said. Bunny nodded.
The priest started rowing. Bunny tensed back up. Clint slowed the boat downed. Bunny was still tense. Silence hung over them for hours. "So," Clint began. His lady friend didn't answer. "Why are you afraid of this trip?" he asked. Bunny was hesitant to answer at first. Then the truth slid out from her pink lips: "Past experience." Clint was puzzled. "What do you mean?" asked he. Her stare was blank. "Oh. Forgive me!" the priest spoke out. "You don't have to tell me if you don't want to." But it was too late. "I have to tell him the truth." she thought. "I was pushed in a river by accident." Bunny spoke up. Clint was silent. "When I was twelve," Bunny began. "My family and I were having a picnic by a river. My crush and I were flirting around at the dock. It went too far. He pushed me too hard and I fell in the river. I was so scared of drowning. Since then, I scared of water."
Bunny could feel herself beginning to cry. Clint reached forward and pushed some of hair behind her ear. She looked up. Clint's eyes were full of sympathy. "Don't worry ai," said he. "I won't be reckless with you." Bunny felt better. "Arigato Clint." said she. "Now!" Clint spoke up. "Let's finish this trip, shall we?" "Yeah!" Bunny declared. "Okay then." said the priest. The trip was resumed. Bunny ended up enjoying herself.
That evening, the couple made it home. Viki was filing her nails when they came into the living room. "So," she began. "How was your trip?" "Great!" Bunny exclaimed. "I really enjoyed it!" Viki looked like a snowman that was left in the sun too long!
