Kid Sitters
Clint’s car pulled up in the driveway. Bunny watched him get out the car from the window over the sink in kitchen while she was washing dishes. But today, a surprise followed behind him. Three young boys between the ages of three and ten were trailing along. Bunny was wondering naze. So she left her post and headed to the front door.
Clint stepped through when she got to the door. “Konnchiwa Bunny.” said the priest. Bunny opened her mouth speak but Clint stopped her “We’ll talk in the kitchen.” he whispered quickly. His lady friend nodded. Then the two rushed to the kitchen.
“What’s going on?” Bunny asked. “Who are these kids?” Clint drew in a deep breath. He didn’t know how to start. “I was doing my daily studies of Buddha when I got a knock at my office.” the priest began. “At first it was the police about you so I got nervous. But then, I gathered my courage and went to the door. When I opened it, I found these three boys looking up at me.” “Don’t they have parents?” Bunny asked. “They couldn’t tell me.” Clint answered. His lady friend was lost.
“Are you taking them in?” Bunny asked. Clint nodded weakly. “But where will you keep them?” she asked. “Who will teach them their studies?” Clint shook his head. “I don’t know.” said he. “I just don’t know.” Both stood in silence for a while. “Clint.” Bunny spoke up. The priest didn’t respond. “I’ll take care of them.” his lady friend continued. Clint jerked his head up at her. “Nani?!?” he asked in shock. “I will take care of them!” Bunny repeated. “But how?” Clint asked. “I can manage.” she said serenely. Clint was in doubt at first. But then he remembered that Bunny had pulled through before. “All right.” said the priest. “I’ll leave them to you.” Bunny was overjoyed. She glomped him heavily. “*Sweat drop* Uh…. Do Itashimashite.” Clint said.
Few minutes later, the couple cam to the dining table. The boys looked up. “Gentlemen.” Clint began. The boys began to listen close. “You can stay with us.” the priest announced. The boys grew excited and cheered. Clint felt warm inside. Bunny was smiling hard.
“So,” Bunny said to the kids. “Tell me your names.” “I’m Toru.” the first boy said. “Juichi.” the second one said. “Meiji” the last one said. “My name is Bunny.” Bunny said to them. “Hi.” Said the boys. Silence pasted. “Are any of you hungry?” Bunny asked at last. “Hai.” the kids mumbled. “I’ve made dinner for everyone!” she said cheerfully. “Yay!!!” the boys yelled. “Coming right up!” Bunny chirped. Then she hurried back into the kitchen.
Her plan was quite simple. Feed, teach, and care for Toru, Juichi, and Meiji like they were nai problem for the woman. But the slave hunters presented a problem. Bunny knew she had to fight them off. But how?
    Day 1
All is good. Toru, Juichi, and Meiji were all clean and dressed in Clint’s hand-me-downs. Bunny was walking them to school. People were staring at them. But Bunny and boys didn’t care. They walked proudly. Once they were safely at their school, Bunny headed off to work.
Now the woman had to be careful as she walked. Hunters could be watching her every move. Such as right now. But….. They weren’t hunters! “That’s her.” one said as they were looking at Bunny. “Uh-huh.” said the other. “All we have to do is watch her.” “Hai.” said the first one. Then they moved along with her.
Tsuki Hana was busy this morning. Engaged coupled were rushing in and out to get hanas for their weddings, heart-broken relatives came for hanas for their funerals, and etc. for different occasion. By her lunch break, Bunny was exhausted but excited for her job. She had met a lot of people and most were really friendly. Plus she could express her creativity through her designs. Her customers all enjoyed them.
Bunny’s second shift was busier then her first one. Good thing she still had some energy left from her job, caused she needed it for the boys. REALLY needed it!
Speaking of those three, Toru, Juichi, and Meiji were waiting outside their new school. They were overjoyed to see Bunny again. “Bunny-sama!” Juichi cried out. The other two looked up. They too fell into joy. The boys ran to her immediately. “Bunny-sama!” they yelled as they glomped her. “Hey boys.” Bunny said. The boys all laughed in joy. Bunny herself felt great joy and laughed along with them. Then they all got up and started walking home.

    Day Two:
The day went by smoothly. The boys went to school and Bunny went to work. So far Clint had nai problems. But the night was a catalyst to her and the boys.
Bunny was sleeping when she heard a knock on her door. The woman awoke and looked up. “Oro?” said she. “Come in.” The door slowly opened. And there in door, stood Meiji. He was crying. Bunny felt empathy. So she sat up and asked: “Meiji, what’s wrong?” The boy kept sobbing. “Aw,” said Bunny. “Come here.” Meiji complied. He sat on the bed and the woman hugged him. “I *sob* had a *sob* scary dream *sob sob*” the boy managed to say. “Aww.” Bunny said again as she hugged him. Meiji cried on. The woman came up with a great idea. “Want to hear a story?” she asked the boy. Meiji nodded. Bunny smiled and hugged him. She began telling the boy about “Jack and the Beanstalk.” And before long, they were asleep peacefully.
For a week, Bunny took care of Toru, Juichi, and Meiji. The boys had grown fond of her. But soon that would change.
Clint came home one evening. Bunny and the boys were playing a board game on the floor. They looked up. “Konbawa Clint.” His lady friend said. He didn’t answer. His face was grim. “What’s wrong?” Bunny’s eyes seem to ask. Clint headed to the kitchen. Bunny followed him out.
“What’s wrong?” Bunny asked. Clint drew in a breath and shut his eyes. “I got a phone call this morning.” he began. “One of the priests in Tokyo said he’d take the boys in” Bunny tried to fight back her tears. “I—under-stand….” she said. Clint put his arm around her and they walked back to the living room.
They had a hard time breaking the news to the boys. Toru sat in forlorn silence. “What?!?” Juichi yelled in shock. Meiji ran to Bunny and cried on her skirt. The woman finally broke down and cried. Clint fought back his tears.
The boys stayed another week with Clint and Bunny. On the day they left, Bunny dressed Toru, Juichi, and Meiji in nice looking little kimonos. She also each them a little gift. “Don’t open them until you get on the train.” she told the boys. “Hai sama.” they said.
Clint and Bunny escorted the little ones to the train. “You’ve been good kids.” the priest said. “Arigato.” Toru, Juichi, and Meiji said in union. Then Clint blessed them and the boys got on the train. “Sayonara!!!” Bunny called out. The boys waved back. Clint watched her. “She’s great with kids.” he thought. “She must be my savior!

Sayonara
