The Tech Girl and the Rabbit Woman
The bus pulled up into downtown Tokyo at ten. The flood of people, mostly tourists, spilled off into the streets. One just paused looked and looked at her surroundings. The sun caught her bright green hair. A smile came onto her face.“Right on time,” she thought. She pulled out her cell phone and turned on the GPS feature. The girl loaded up the map to Clint’s house.
“Hm,” she said to herself. “Looks like I need to take another bus to the country.” She turned and looked out into the streets. The bus had just left.
“Well,” she said. “It looks like I’ll have to wait. Not a problem.” She took out her earphones and put them in. The latest tech music flooded her mind.
The second bus pulled into the country. This time, mostly natives got off. The girl gracefully stepped off. The girl gracefully stepped off. She took one more look at her phone. “Dead zone ahead,” she thought. “Such a bummer.” She pocketed the phone and put on her music. The girl began her path to her uncle’s house.
She came up to the front door and rang the bell. The door slid open. The girl looked and blinked, confused. Bunny did likewise.
“Uh… who are you?” the girls asked each other. The girl stared on at Bunny.
“Since when did my uncle get a new squeeze?” she asked. Bunny blinked at her again.
“Uncle?” she asked. “New squeeze?”
“Clare?” a voice asked behind them. “Is that you?” The girls turned to see Clint coming into the living room. He looked at the doorway. The girl’s eyes became stars.
“Uncle!” she cheered. “You’re here!” The girl walked into the house and hugged her uncle. Clint hugged her back. Bunny still looked forward.
“Clint,” she said. “What’s going on here?” The priest looked up and let of his niece.
“Bunny,” he said. “This is my niece, Clare. Clare, this is Bunny.” The woman gave her a little wave.
“Hi,” she mumbled.
“Hey,” Clare replied. Clint breathed as he clapped his hands together.
“Okay!” he said. “You two get to know each other while I set up Clare’s room, okay?” The girls said nothing as Clint went down the hall. Bunny and Clare looked at each other. Awkward!
“Well…” Bunny said. “Hi.” Clare glanced at her.
“Sup!”
Bunny blinked. “What?” The niece turned to her.
“Can I ask you something?”
Bunny blinked again. “Uh… sure…”
Clare gave her sharp eyes. “Are you a prostitute?”
Bunny tried to stay calm. She shook her head. “No.”
“Stripper?”
̶ 0;No.”
“Anything to do with sex?”
“No.”
Clare took a step further. “Then, what do you do?”
Bunny stood up straight. “I’m a florist.” A moment of silence.
“It’s true! Your uncle owns my shop!” More silence. Bunny’s heart began to pound. “Please buy it!” she thought. “I’m telling the truth.” Clare only eyed her.
“That too,” she said. Bunny looked at her again.
“Huh? What do you mean?”
“What are to my uncle?”
“Oh? Uh…”
“Come on, you can tell me!”
“Well…”
“Are you his lover?”
“No, nothing like that!”
Clare giggled. Bunny stared on at her with wide eyes.
“WHAT?!?” she cried. Clare laughed again.
“Your cheeks are just as red!” she pointed out. Bunny’s cherry red invaded her face. The niece only smirked at her in victory.
“How’s everyone getting along?” Clint asked as he returned to the living room. The girls quickly returned to normal as they looked up to see him.
“Great!” they cheered quickly. The priest smiled at them.
“Good," he said. Clare stepper forward to her uncle.
“You’ve got a good woman,” she said. Bunny looked at her, surprised. Clint was caught off-guard by Clare’s statement.
“R-Really?” he asked. His niece nodded. Clint’s eyes lowered to his feet.
“Wow,” he mumbled. Clare only smiled. She was working on a matchmaker plan already.
