For the Love of Bunny
Clint sat alone in his office. So much paperwork. But, that wasn't on his mind. Was it worth it? Bunny had been living in his house for close to a month. She liked him and he the same to her. He wanted to break off his arrangement with Viki. But, was it worth it?
Clint sat back in his chair. Seems so hard. All for a woman he hardly knew. For what purpose? Why did he love her? He looked up at the ceiling. “Maybe an arranged marriage wouldn't hurt,” the priest thought.
Then, there came a knock on the door. Cline looked up.
“Enter!” he said. The door jiggled open. Clare poked her head inside.
“You busy?” she asked. Her uncle shook his head.
“Nah,” he said. “Come in.” His niece complied and closed the door behind her.
“Hey,” she said. Her uncle eyed her.
“Is it Bunny?” she asked. Clint kind of shrugged at his niece. Clare nodded at him.
“Oh,” she said. “What about her?” Clint sighed.
“It's just…” he began.
“Just what?”
The priest shrugged. “Will it work? Is it worth it?”
Clare raised an eyebrow at him. “What?” Her uncle shrugged and shook his head.
“Am I better off in an arranged marriage?” he asked. Clare made a face at him.
“No!” she said. Clint looked up at her.
“But…” he began. Clare marched up to him.
“Listen here!” she demanded. “You will not marry that gross whore!”
Clint blinked at her. “But…”
“No! You love Bunny!”
The priest nodded uneasily. “Yeah… but…”
His niece made another face at him. “Now what?”
“Is it worth it?”
“YES!”
“Are you sure?”
Clare sighed aloud. “Come on, how hard is it for you to see it?” She sat on her uncle's desk.
“Hey,” he said. “Those are my papers!” Clare didn't listen.
“Look at me,” she said. “Look at me! Are you looking?”
“Yes,” her uncle said.
“Good,” she said. “Now get this in your brain: You love Bunny, right?”
“Yes?”
“And she loves you, right?”
“I guess…”
“No guessing! Yes or no, does she love you?”
Silent pause. “Yes.”
“Good. Do you really want to marry Viki? Think hard about that one.”
“No.”
“What?”
“No.”
“And little bit louder now.”
“No!”
Clare smiled at him. “Good, keep that in mind to win over Bunny and break off the arrangement!”
The priest looked on for a long second. Clare's face dropped.
“Now what?” she asked. Clint shook his head.
“Yes, but…” he said.
“But what?”
“Is it really worth the trouble?”
Clare sighed and shook her head. “Were you listening to me?”
“Well, yeah…”
“Then, you should know the answer to that one,” his niece summed up. Then, she scooted off the desk and left his office. Clint watched her do so. She had a point there.
Okay then, no more doubts. Just let love take control. Should by easy, yes?
