Death Academy: The Beginning

Chapter Five

 

Ryo'ichi woke up to knocking and talking at his door.

 

“Knock! Knock!”

 

“Ryo'ichi!”

 

“Who is knocking on my door this freaking early?!” Ryo'ichi said, rolling over in his bed.

 

“Ryo'ichi get your ass up!”

 

“Uhhhhhh…..GO AWAY IT'S TOO EARLY!!!” Ryo'ichi yelled, throwing a pillow at the door.

 

“Damn it, I'll break it down!”

 

“Ugh………..FINE!” Ryo'ichi yelled, getting up from his bed and walking to the door just in his boxers, and opening the door.

 

Ryo'ichi opened the door and there stood Hitomi, Zinnia, Fee, Lee, and Ryuu.

 

“Jeez! Put some clothes on!” Ryuu said, turning around.

 

“You know, you don't have to if you don't want to!” Hitomi said, never taking her eyes of Ryo'ichi.

 

“No, you do, put them on now.” Lee said pushing Ryo'ichi back into his room.

 

Ryo'ichi walked back into his room, put his clothes on and walked back out to meet the rest of them once again.

 

“Happy? I am fully dressed.” Ryo'ichi said, staring at them.

 

“No. I am not happy; I just got really sad all of a sudden.” Hitomi said, disappointed.

 

“Sorry, if you want, we can come back around here and I am sure that clothes will come of in a second.” Ryo'ichi said, getting up close into Hitomi's ear.

 

“Ah!” Hitomi said, twitching.

 

“Enough with the sex talk, the dock, now.” Lee said, already walking towards the stairs.

 

“Docks?” Ryo'ichi said, confused.

 

“Hah, nothings changed” Ryuu said, laughing at Ryo'ichi, “still don't remember anything after one day.”

 

“Well? Anyone going to tell me?” Ryo'ichi said, still confused.

 

“We owe them a complete explanation! Remember! Damn Ryo'ichi!” Zinnia said, walking out behind Lee, along with Ryuu, and Fee, leaving Hitomi and Ryo'ichi in the hall.

 

“You sure about this?” Hitomi said, looking at Ryo'ichi.

 

“Like I have a choice.”

Ryo'ichi, Hitomi, Zinnia, Fee, Ryuu, and Lee all arrived at the dock sitting around the table that surrounded the side of the dock, almost outstretched over the water. They all sat there for about two or three minutes, staring at each other in confusion and anticipation.

 

“Well?” Lee said, tapping his foot against the ground, “are you going to say anything?”

 

“Yeah as soon as I find away to start.” Ryo'ichi said, leaning against the side of the railing of the dock.

 

“Why don't you start where you started with me?” Hitomi said.

 

“Fine.”

 

“Ok, Hitomi, Ryuu, and I were all close friends ever since we were little. Hitomi and I started dating about four and a half years ago.” Ryo'ichi said.

 

“Keep going.” Lee said, still interested to know why he was brought up into all of this.

 

“Three years ago, my family was murdered, except for my brother and me. I let my brother get away why I held them off. They knocked me unconscious and kidnapped me.”

 

“Who?” Ryuu said, “I mean the police thought you did it, and then they found your brother and pronounced you dead.”

 

“A facility known as “The P.A.S.M Facility, which stands for the Paranormal and Scientific Mutations Facility.”

 

“Ok? What do they do, and why did the want you?” Ryuu said, in confusion.

 

“I don't know exactly what their intentions are, or why they wanted me, but while I was there they started an experiment to make the human body use all of its mind power and strength to become the ultimate war weapon, however, it failed. The experiment was me.”

 

“You?” Lee said, “Is that the reason that you keep you right arm bandaged up? Did they do something to it?”

 

“Sorta, but anyway.”

 

“They tossed me aside, I was too valuable to kill, but they couldn't let me go because I knew too much. I stayed in that facility for two years, up until the third year, when I escaped.”

 

“How did you escape?” Fee asked, “Zinnia never told me this part, because she said that you never told her.”

 

“I didn't, but I escaped with help from the inside.”

 

“Who? I want to know, I have been with you for one year, traveled all around the world with you, I do deserve an answer.” Zinnia said with her arms crossed, “It had to be someone with high class number.”

 

“The highest.”

 

“No way! You don't mean?!” Zinnia said in shock.

 

“Yes, Ken, Ken Sparks, Owner and Leader of the P.A.S.M Facility.”

 

“What? Boss Ken helped you escape?!” Zinnia said in even more shock, “but he was the one that brought you to that facility! Why would he help you escape?!”

 

“He didn't mean to put me through all of that, he thought of me as a amazing disciple, but he said that it wasn't safe there anymore, he knew something terrible wads about to happen, and he said he wouldn't be alive any longer, so we tried to escape.”

 

“And? Where is Boss Ken now?”

 

“Dead….” Ryo'ichi said, staring at the ground.

 

“Hold Up!” Lee said, in confusion, “Sparks? As in like Dean Sparks?”

 

“Ken Sparks was Dean Sparks's twin brother, if I am correct, Dean Sparks should be running the facility now.”

 

“Unbelievable! But why is he here?” Lee said, “And what about Professor Sparks?”

“This is one out of two entrances to the facility, and I am here to put a stop to this facility once and for all, however about Prof. Sparks, I don't know if she even knows what her husband is doing.”

 

“I have a question now.” Hitomi said.

 

“Ok?”

 

“How did you meet Zinnia?”

 

“Zinnia worked at the-“

 

“Let me Ryo'ichi, I mean it is about me.” Zinnia said, looking at the rest of them.

 

“I worked at the P.A.S.M Facility, however I worked in a different level than Ryo'ichi was in, and I didn't meet Ryo'ichi until after he escaped.”

 

“I was told to hunt him down and eliminate him, by one of the head officials, on the day he escaped. I found Ryo'ichi on the outskirts of the facility's forest sector, apparently had a battle with a Slade, and lost, because when I arrived the Slade busted out of some boulders and was about to kill him, I intervened and killed the Slade.”

 

“So you saved him?” Ryuu said.

 

“Wait?! The Slade that I fought there, I didn't kill?!” Ryo'ichi said in shock.

 

“Yep, I had to kill it.”

 

“Well that sucks.”

 

“When he came to consciousness, I told him, that my name was Zinnia Castle, Head Leader of the P.A.S.M's Assassin Squad, and that I was sent to kill him, however I told him that I wasn't and that I wanted to leave with him, so that is how we came to know each other.” Zinnia said, a little out of breath.

 

“That's interesting, now I want to know what those Slade things are.” Ryuu said.

 

“Slades are genetically altered beings that look similar what myths call a “werewolf.” Slades have no ears or tails, and they hear through the tiny holes in their head.

Slades natural, well, man-made weapon and defense is their arms. Slades left arms are basically a giant shield that can repeal any attack, even missiles, and Slades right arms has tiny transmutation cells in the ligaments that were programmed by scientists at P.A.S.M to cause transformation of any known, non-gun weapon known to man, in fact the scientist who created the first Slade and claimed the project was none other than Ken.”

 

“What? Boss Ken is responsible for Slades?” Zinnia said.

 

“Yes, but he didn't mean for all this to happen, his own creations were turned against him!” Ryo'ichi said, defending the dead scientist.

 

They all exchanged glances of distrust, confusion, and nervousness, not knowing what to say or do.

 

“I understand now, that if any of you would like to get the hell out of here, in fact I recommend it. This isn't any of your battles, only Zinnia's and mine.” Ryo'ichi said, looking at every single one of them.

 

“Don't count on it. I am in, I already told you that!” Hitomi said, smiling at Ryo'ichi.

 

“C'mon, Ryo'ichi! You know I am in, I can't let my two best friends get in any danger without me, to come rescue them.” Ryuu said, putting his fist in the air.

 

“I will do anything to help you guys, even if we have just met, you guys are my friends.” Fee said, smiling at all of them.

 

“Same, you guys will need someone who is older and wiser, plus I can't let my baby sis fight without me.” Lee said, putting his in the middle of the table, “What do you guys say!”

 

“In!” Fee said, putting her hand on top of her brother's.

 

“In!” Hitomi said, doing the same.

 

“Of course you know I am in.” Ryuu said, placing his hand over the rest of them.

 

“You guys kick ass!” Zinnia said, putting her hand in the middle too.

 

“Guys….” Ryo'ichi said, amazed that they would actually help him do this, “Lets do this!” Ryo'ichi said, smiling and placing his hand over all of them.

 

“Kick Ass!” they all yelled putting their up in the air.

 

“Shit!” Lee said looking at his watch, “We can kick ass later, it is class time in 5 minutes!”

 

“What about Dean Sparks?” Ryuu said, walking back to the trail with the others, “Do we-“

 

“No” Ryo'ichi said, sternly, “We say nothing, act like nothing is wrong, you guys got it?”

 

“Right.” They all said, as they made their ways to class.

“You want me to do what?!” Professor Sparks said, glaring at her husband.

 

“I want you to close the classes down for the week.” Dean Sparks said, not taking his eyes off the folder in his hand.

 

“Why? I thought you said that you were going to end this today?” she said, still frustrated.

 

“No this weekend, this weekend will end it all.” Dean Sparks said, “I want time to prepare, announce that the Fighting Classes are closed for the week.”

 

“Ugh. Fine, I don't understand why, the kids will all be disappointed, and this better not mean I am not getting paid for the week.” Professor Sparks said, walking out of the office.

Ryo'ichi, Zinnia, Hitomi, Fee, Lee, and Ryuu arrived at the building only to see a huge sign on the front of it, saying “Closed for the Week.”

 

“What?” Lee said, “Class is closed for the week?”

 

“Hmmm…..”, Ryo'ichi said, staring at the sign with a little concern.

 

“Look on the bright side; this will give us time to train.” Zinnia said, glancing at the other, then at Ryo'ichi, seeing his concern looking, then nodding at him, understanding what he feels.

 

“Could he have found out that I am here?” Ryo'ichi thought, but decided to shrug the thought off, “It doesn't matter I guess, it wont change anything.”

 

“Your right Zinnia, this will be perfect time for us to train, in fact we will start right now!” Ryo'ichi said, turning around and walking away from the building, “Off to the park area!”

 

“Right!” Hitomi said, following behind Ryo'ichi, along with the rest of them.

 

“Something is defiantly up.” Ryo'ichi thought.

Time Skip: 5 days later, Friday. Location: Park area. Time: 9:30pm

 

“Again!” Lee yelled to Fee, as she ran towards him with her guitar slamming it into Lee, only to see Lee dodge it, “Good!”

 

Lee, Fee, Ryuu, Ryo'ichi, Hitomi, and Zinnia were all in the park area again, practicing another day. Ryo'ichi was sprawling with Ryuu, while Fee and Lee were fighting, and Zinnia and Hitomi were fighting one another.

 

“Guys I am getting tired, so I am leaving, I think I've done enough for the day.” Lee said, leaning against a tree, out of breath and exhausted.

 

“Me too.” Fee said, walking out of the hole infested fallen trees everywhere, park area.

 

“Same. I am out of here.” Ryuu said, walking down the trail until he was visible no more.

 

“Bye Ryo'ichi I am going too, I am extremely tired.” Hitomi said, walking up to Ryo'ichi giving him a kiss, then waving bye.

 

“Looks like it is you and me, Zinnia.” Ryo'ichi looking at Zinnia, “Want to brawl a bit before we head out?”

 

“Of course.” Zinnia said, already making her way towards Ryo'ichi.

“Tonight then.” Professor Sparks said, looking out the window.

 

“Yes, tonight.” Dean Sparks said, holding his chain-linked spear, “Lets go.”

“Ok Zinnia I am getting tired, lets get out of here.” Ryo'ichi said, walking back down the trail towards the dorms.

 

“Right.”

 

Ryo'ichi and Zinnia got to the end of the trail, close enough to see the girl's dorm, when two figures appeared in front of them, compeltly shrouded in black robes, unable to see any part of them.

 

“Who are you two?” Ryo'ichi said, in a calm, but nervous voice.

 

“None of your concern, just here to destroy….you!” the woman said, running towards Ryo'ichi and Zinnia with amazing speed.

 

“Enough!” someone yelled appearing in front of Ryo'ichi and Zinnia.

 

“Professor Sparks?” Zinnia said, a little confused but relieved.

 

“I don't care who you are, I'll chop you in half!” the woman said, as a blade appear from under her robe.

 

The woman struck Professor Sparks in the throat, sending blood spewing everywhere, mostly on Zinnia. Professor Sparks gagged a little before dropping to the ground dead.

 

“Ahhh!” Zinnia yelled, freaking out because of all the blood over her.

 

“Move!” Ryo'ichi yelled pushing, Zinnia out of the way, getting struck by the blade that the women carried, knocking him unconscious by the pain.

 

Zinnia got up and saw the two of them running back towards the academy, apparently completely forgetting her. She followed them back, where they arrived at the Weaponry and Tactical Fighting Building, they busted open the door, and walked inside. When they arrived in, they walked up to a wall, hitting a warped looking brick, causing the wall to open, they walked in, the wall closing behind them, unknown as to what would happen to Ryo'ichi, Zinnia knew what she had to do.

“Knock! Knock!”

 

Hitomi glanced at the clock then at her door.

 

“Knock! Knock!”

 

“Who is knocking this late?” Hitomi thought getting out of bed and opening the door.

 

“Zinnia?” Hitomi said rubbing her eyes, looking at an exhausted, and blood drenched Zinnia.

 

“Ryo'ichi!” She yelled, out of breath, “Ryo'ichi and I were attacked!”

 

“By what?”

 

“A women and man!” Zinnia yelled, “They killed Professor Sparks!”

 

“What?!” Hitomi screamed, waking up really quickly.

 

“Yes, Hitomi I want you to go get everyone up, it is time for a battle, I am going ahead, the door where they took Ryo'ichi, is on the right wall, there is a warped brick on the wall, hit it and the door appears. Hurry you have to get everyone!” Zinnia said, running back to the room door, slamming it back shut.

 

“This is unbelievable!” Hitomi thought, shocked as she grabbed her clothes, putting them on, then getting her swords and running out the door.

 

When Hitomi ran outside her door and to Fee's room, Fee's door opened and Ryuu walked out, along with Fee, who gave Ryuu a kiss, as he walked out into the hallway.

 

“Ryuu!!” Hitomi yelled behind him.

 

“What?! What?! I was just studying with her!” Ryuu said, freaking out by Hitomi sneaking up on him.

 

“What?” I don't care what you two were doing, we have a serious situation!” Hitomi yelled, causing Fee to open her door back up to see what was going on.

 

“What situation?” Fee said confused.

 

“Zinnia came in blood drenched saying two people attacked Ryo'ichi and her, killing professor Sparks, and kidnapping Ryo'ichi.” Hitomi said, out of breath.

 

“We have to help them!” Ryuu said.

 

“Right I'll go get my brother! You two go on ahead!” Fee said, running in getting her guitar and then running towards the stairs.

 

“Fee the place where they brought Ryo'ichi is in the Weaponry Building! The door is on the right wall, push a warped looking brick and the door will appear!” Hitomi yelled to Fee as she ran down the stairs to get her brother.

 

“Ready Ryuu?” Hitomi said, looking at him.

 

“Ready as I'll ever be.” Ryuu said, looking at the stairs, afraid to know what is going to happen.

CHAPTER SIX PREVIEW:

 

“I didn't kill your brother!!” Ryo'ichi screamed at the delirious Ben Sparks.

 

“LIAR!” Ben yelled, slamming his fist into Ryo'ichi's stomach, making him cough up blood.

 

“I would never have laid a hand on Ken; he was my closest friend in the facility!” Ryo'ichi said.

 

“Then WHO?! Who could have killed my brother?” Ben yelled, into his face.

 

“It was…”

 

“WHO?”

 

“It was your father!” Ryo'ichi yelled, staring at Ben's flabbergasted expression.

 

“YOU'RE A FUCKING LIAR! MY FATHER DIED SEVEN YEARS AGO!” Ben yelled, even more enraged, charging towards Ryo'ichi with is chain-linked spear, “I WILL KILL YOU!!”
