Marry Me

Despite the stress, love keeps blooming. Soon finally made up his mind.

“I want to marry her,” he said. Be and Jin stared at him.

“Okay,” Jin said.

“How are you going to propose?” Be asked. Soon thought for a moment.

“I don't know,” he said. “I had to tell you guys first.”

“Well then, you have our blessing,” Jin said.

“I can help you,” Be said. Soon quickly bowed.

“Thank you so much!” he said.

“You're welcome,” she said. Be stood up.

“Let's get you the ring,” she said. “Do you have anything in mind?” Soon rubbed the back of his head.

“Um… I don't know,” he said.

“We'll start there,” she said.

“I don't want to spend too much money,” Soon said sheepishly.

“Don't worry,” Be said. “We'll find you something.” She walked over to him.

“Let's go,” she said. Soon followed her out of the living room. The man looked confused. Jin just shrugged. His sister and Soon were gone out the door.

Mai-Pai came home that evening. Choko and the kids decided to go to a movie. She didn't think much about it.

“I'm home,” Mai-Pai said. She found Soon sitting on the couch.

“Hey,” he said. Mai-Pai closed the door behind her.

“Hey you,” she said. Soon sat up straight.

“I have something I have to tell you,” he said. She raised her eyebrow.

“What is it?” Mai-Pai asked.

“I really love you,” Soon said. “I can't see my life without you.”

“Okay…” she said. He felt his heart pounding against his chest. The man fumbled with his pocket.

“What are you doing?” Mai-Pai asked. Soon pulled out a small ring box. He took a breath and opened it.

“Mai-Pai will you marry me?” she asked. Her jaw dropped. She covered her mouth as her face turned red. Soon frowned.

“Did I mess up?” he asked. Oh no. Was she?

“Yes!” Mai-Pai said. Soon blinked.

“Yes what?” he asked. She quickly nodded.

“Yes! Yes! Yes!” she shouted. Mai-Pai jumped into his arms.

“Whoa!” Soon shouted. She looked up, laughing.

“Yes,” she said. Soon perked up.

“I love you so much,” he said. Mai-Pai giggled and kissed him on the lips. He kissed her back.
