The Wrath

-Soon-

What the hell have they done? This isn't our story anymore. What has become of this… this… debacle.

“What's wrong?” Mai-Pai asked. I groaned.

“Look,” I said. I slide over a copy of the script. She looked down for a read. A confused look came over her face.

“What is this?” she asked.

“The script,” I said. She wrinkled her nose.

“What is it?” Mai-Pai asked. I frowned at her.

“It's not our story,” I said. “They ruined it.” Mai-Pai scanned the page. She too started to frown.

“Oh…” my wife said. I pressed my lips together and nodded. She put down the script. Mai-Pai looked so pale.

Oh no,” she mumbled. She reached for the phone. I sat watching her. She paced around as it rang. I didn't think that was going to work.

“Hello?” I heard Hindeo over the phone. I lifted my head.

“Hindeo! What the hell did you do?!” I shouted. There was a pause.

“What?” he asked. I gritted my teeth.

“Calm down,” Mai-Pai mouthed at me. I took a deep breath.

“What?” Hindeo asked. “It's just a few edits.” Just a few edits? Just a few edits?!

“No!” I snapped. “It's wrong! It's all wrong!” Mai-Pai held up her hand. I took a breath.

“Why did you do this?” I asked. Hindeo nervously laughed.

“They wanted more edits,” he said.

“Why?” I asked. My face felt hot. I started breathing heavily. Mai-Pai held up her hand.

“Um… To make it better?” he asked. My jaw hit the floor.

“Better?” I asked.

“I'm so sorry!” Hindeo shouted. I wanted to jump over and snatch the phone out of Mai-Pai's hand.

“Do you still have Murray's number?” my wife asked. I got up and walked out of the kitchen.

They can't do this! I knew this was a bad idea. The film is going to flop. I just know it. I clenched my fists at my sides. Damn it!

“Honey! Murry wants to talk to us!” Mai-Pai shouted. I rolled my eyes. What could he possibly say to make this right? I turned and walked back into the kitchen. I don't want any part of this anymore. I wish they hadn't talked me into this.
