Soon and Mai-Pai came home to a little surprise. First, they had to cut their trip short.

“Baby, are you okay?” Mai-Pai asked. Soon didn't answer. His face looked so red. He could barely stay awake. Mai-Pai put her hand on his forehead.

“Oh my! You're burning up!” she said. Soon looked out of it. He mumbled something to her.

“What?” Mai-Pai asked. Soon nearly fell face down on the table.

“Whoa!” his wife shouted as she caught him. Soon couldn't keep his eyes open. They needed to go home.

“My daughter has a guest room,” Hina said. Mai-Pai shook her head.

“No, we have to get home,” she said.

“You sure?” Shin asked.

“Yes,” his daughter-in-law said. “Do you have cold medicine?”

“Yeah, hang on,” Hina said. She disappeared down the hall. Mai-Pai rubbed Soon's hand.

“It's okay, baby,” she whispered. “We'll get up some help.” Soon nearly passed out. Hina came back with the meds.

Soon and Mai-Pai came back home in the morning. Mai-Pai had to drive. Hina offered to let them stay at her daughter's house.

“No, it's fine,” Mai-Pai said. “We have to get home.” And off they went. Soon slept on the way home. Mai-Pai had to wake him up when they pulled into the driveway.

“Hey! Wake up! Hey! Hey!” she whispered as she shook him on the arm. Her husband slowly woke up.

“Hm?” he asked. The man needed to sleep.

“Come on,” Mai-Pai said. She got out of the car and walked around to his side. The woman helped her husband out. Soon tried not to doze off again.

“Come on, I got you,” Mai-Pai said. She helped him to the door.

“We're home!” she said. However, the couple froze. A young man sat on the couch, staring at him. He sat, blinking.

“Uh… who are you?” he asked. Mai-Pai put her hands on her hips.

“I can ask you the same thing!” she said. “Who the hell are you?! What are you doing in my house?!” The young man opened his mouth to speak.

“Mom?” someone asked. Everyone looked up to see Be standing in the doorway.

“Be?” Mai-Pai asked. “What's going on here? Who is he?”

“Babe?” the young man asked.

“Mom, Soon! You're back early. What's going on?” Be asked.

“Be, don't change the subject!” Mai-Pai said. There was a pause. Be dropped her shoulders and sighed.

“Fine,” she said. She walked over to the young man sitting on the couch. He pulled her down next to him.

“Mom, Soon, this is Katsu,” she said. “He's my boyfriend.” Soon and Mai-Pai stood with blank stares for a moment. The couple looked at each other.
