Accident Peep

A scream broke the quiet Sunday morning. Mai-Pai jumped to her feet.

“Chiko!” she shouted. She dashed up the stairs. Soon stood in the hallway with a face so red.

“Soon, what happened?” Mai-Pai asked. He could barely speak. His mouth opened and closed but no sound came out. His wife looked confused.

“Soon?” she asked. He pointed to the bathroom door.

“Huh?” Mai-Pai asked as she walked closer. Then she froze as she put it all together.

“Oh…” she said. Soon looked like he wanted to die.

Everyone sat in the living room. Chiko and Son sat on opposite ends. They couldn't look at each other. No one said a word. Mai-Pai cleared her throat.

“So… what happened exactly?” she asked. Soon and Chiko didn't speak at first. Be and Jin looked confused. Chiko dropped her head.

“He saw me in the bath,” she mumbled. Be and Jin looked up.

“What?” Be asked. Chiko lifted her head. Her face was so red.

“I'm so sorry!” Soon blurted out. He buried his head in his hands. Mai-Pai looked at her husband and her employee.

“Was it an accident?” she asked.

“Yes!” Chiko and Soon blurted out.

“Well,” Mai-Pai said. “What happened?” they didn't answer at first. Chiko wanted to run out the door.

“I was trying to get to the bathroom,” Soon admitted.

“Did you knock?” Mai-Pai asked. Her husband shook his head.

“Was the door closed?” she asked.

“Yes,” Chiko said. Mai-Pai tried not to laugh at this point.

“It was just an honest mistake,” she said. Chiko and Soon stared at her. Mai-Pai turned to her husband.

“You forgot about the other bathroom, didn't you?” she asked. Soon slowly nodded. She gave him a sympathetic smile.

“It happens,” she said. “I understand.” Soon opened his mouth to speak.

“I understand,” she said again. However, the issue would be able forgotten by a knock on the door. Well, for the most part.
