Romona jerked so fast to look for the voice's owner before muttering, “This is Falassion City…” Romona was suddenly surrounded, and Sobasa and Lathanos were pushed back to the edges of the small crowd. Romona was being hugged to death by so many people before the noise finally halted. Solem stood before the awestruck Romona as the crowd parted in the background.
Sobasa took his chance, walking up behind Romona. He put his arm around her, saying, “So sweetie, who are all these people?”
Romona's cheeks flared bright red as she glared at Sobasa. Solem looked slightly angry as he said, “Then you have already forgotten me…”
Solem disappeared and Romona suddenly turned around and slapped Sobasa with the force of a freight train, sending him to the ground with a loud crash. Lathanos was still at the edge of the crowd with an unintelligible look on his face. A young chibi's voice split the air, “I am greatly honored to meet you, Romona, and I am sorry about the reunion…it was meant to be happy…”
A young girl appeared; her long, silver locks framed her face. Scarlet eyes looked from Romona to Sobasa. Her lips curled into a smile as she flattened the wrinkles out of her pure white dress. She held out her hand, saying, “My name is Elaina…please, come with me…”
Romona took the girls hand and bent down on her knees, embracing her. Elaina smiled, whispering, “Thank you,” After the two girls cast one long, cold glance, they disappeared into the crowd.
Sobasa managed to make his way back to Lathanos. “I wonder what that was about…” He said.
Lathanos just shook his head, saying, “Let's just get a room…”

Solem sat at the edge of the forest, his eyes unfocused, his hearing impaired by the throbbing in his throat. Romona walked up beside him and sat down, looking out to the forest. “You remember the poem we wrote…?”
Solem nodded slowly and Romona began to speak, “
A young man united by the river's edge
Staring into the waters
Repeating a spell spoken
By the witch of the Earth

Luos lufitueab
A fo,
Traeh nekorb
Seye sseltsit
A fo
Yrc sselemit

The young man stared hard
Watching his own reflection
Little did he know the spell he spoke
Until he kept repeating

Luos lufitueab
A fo,
Traeh nekorb
Seye sseltsil
A fo
Yrc sselemit

The young man's lover appeared at his side
And as he turned she screamed
For his face was hideous
The spell now complete

The witch watched from faraway
Muttering what I have done
The young man's lover ran away
For she didn't love him anymore

The witch began to mutter again
Saying another spell
But this time it was forward
Reversing all effects

Beautiful soul
Of a
Broken heart
Listless eyes
Of a
Timeless cry

The young man ran for his love
But her shout rang true
`I don't love you anymore'
And the spell had done its due

The witch had been too late
And she walked to the water's edge
And said

`Enad I evah oned'

…Solem, I am sorry all is not how it seems…how could I forget you and stop loving you? I am not the maiden in the poem and I don't intend to be.” Solem looked at her, tears running his face. “Don't cry, my love,” Romona whispered, wiping the tears from Solem's face.
Solem held Romona to him as he whispered, “I love you…”
Romona smiled, whispering, “Oh Solem, I love you too…”

Meanwhile…

Lathanos stared at Sobasa. “How many times are you gonna do this?!” He shouted.
Sobasa had some newly acquired bruises, including the black eye Romona had given him earlier. The innkeeper rushed over and got in between them. “Please, don't fight.” He said.
The two finally calmed down, sitting down at a table. A small bell rung as the tavern door opened, Elaina entered. Romona and Solem weren't far behind, Solem's hand gripping Romona's shoulder gently. They all sat down at the table with Lathanos and Sobasa.
Romona smiled carefully, then said, “Um…Solem and Elaina will be joining us…” Elaina shifted in her seat, getting comfortable as she touched Romona's hand. Romona nodded. “Etheros, however, is after Elaina, so we will have problems…”
Romona stopped talking quickly and looked to the door, her eyes sharpened as a cloaked man entered. He sat down at a table not far from them. Sobasa looked to Romona and Lathanos gripped the hilt of his sword. Solem and Elaina however did not look, only stared blankly.
The sunlight had disappeared as they sat there. Finally, Romona moved, saying, “We should turn in…”
Elaina disappeared out the door. Lathanos gave Romona her key and disappeared along with Sobasa. Solem followed Romona to the room. They kissed and then said goodnight.

A/N: What did ya think? I can't believe I got 2 chapters in 2 days! It usually takes me 2 or 3 days at the least to get a chapter done! Wow! Anyway, sorry it was a bit short and a bit slow, but it was needed for the story. And I felt it to be a good stopping point. Well, later, hopefully sooner than later! lol
