Confession

-Mai-

I made it back to my room. I felt around my pockets when I paused. Shit! My phone! I turned to the door. I cursed myself. Damn it! I don't want to go back. But my phone…

Suddenly there was a knock on my door.

“Yeah?” I asked.

“Mai?” a familiar voice asked. I breathed in relief. I turned and opened the door. Subaru stood outside.

“Oh, it's you,” I said. Subaru gave me an odd look.

“Are you okay?” she asked. I cleared my throat.

“Uh… yeah,” I said. She still looked worried. I tilted my head.

“Is something wrong?” I asked.

“Where were you?” Subaru asked. “I tried calling you but you wouldn't answer.”

“Oh. I lost it somewhere,” I said.

“Where were you?” she asked. “I tried calling you but you wouldn't answer.”

“Oh. I lost it somewhere,” I said.

“Where were you?” she asked. I sighed and dropped my head back.

“I was on a date,” I said. Subaru had a curious and confused look.

“A date?” she asked.

“Yes,” I said with a sigh.

“With… him?” she asked. My face turned red. Subaru covered her mouth as she gasped.

“Oh!” she said.

“Shut up!” I shouted. She backed up, worried.

“Okay, okay,” Subaru said. “I'm sorry.” I sighed.

“No, I'm sorry,” I said. I patted her on the shoulder.

“Do you have time?” I asked. Subaru lifted her chin.

“What's the matter?” she asked.

“Come inside,” I said. I led her into my room.

-Isao-

I turned Mai's phone in my hand. She left it while she was hurrying out of my room. I should go give it to her. She doesn't want to see me though. Still, I have to give her phone back. I looked up when my phone rang.

“Hello?” I asked.

“Isao!” mom said. I stood up straight.

“Mom! How are you? Is something wrong?” I asked.

“No, no,” she said. “I'm okay. We're okay. How are you?”

“Fine,” I said. “I had a good night.” I looked down at Mai's phone. I couldn't help but smile. Heh. She actually wasn't bad in bed. I still don't get why she hated me so much.

“You just missed me in Tokyo,” I said.

“I know,” mom said. “I'm sorry I did.” I could tell she was pouting as she talked. I smiled and shook my head.

“No, it's fine,” I said. I couldn't picture her at my concert. Not her thing.

“I'm sorry I didn't come to see you,” I said.

“It's fine,” she said. “You're busy.”

“No, I could've at least called,” I insisted. “I'm bad for that.”

“No, you're not,” mom said. I smiled to myself. Apparently, I could do no wrong in her eyes.

“Hey, are you busy this morning?” I asked.

“No…” my mom said. “Why do you ask?” I laid back in my bed.

“Can we stay on the phone for a while?” I asked.

“Sure,” she said.

“Thank you,” I said with a smile.

-Mai-

“You did what?!” Subaru asked. My face turned red.

“Not so loud,” I said.

“So… how was it?” she asked. I pressed my lips together. I looked away from her.

“Oh!” Subaru said.

“What?” I asked. she didn't speak at first. I glanced at her.

“What?” I asked again. She still wouldn't answer. I gritted my teeth.

“Stop it!” I shouted.

“What?” she asked. I was about to speak when her phone rang.

“Excuse me,” she said. She pulled her phone out of her pocket.

“Hello?” I heard her ask. What the hell was happening? I rubbed my forehead and sighed. There is no way I have feelings for him. None!

I put my hand to my chest as I gasped. Damn it! He's doing it again! What is wrong with me?! Damn it! This has got to stop!
