The next morning, Yori was up at the crack of dawn. He hadn't slept much last night. He'd been too busy worrying about his sisters. He peeked into Alana's room and watched her sleep. She was pretty when she slept.

A smile graced his face as he went back to his room. She said they had a little bit of everything there. He felt bad going through her drawers, but he didn't want to wear the same thing all day. He found some jeans and a shirt that looked like they'd fit. They were a little tight in certain areas, but he could manage. He'd pay her back for them too seeing as how he had to cut a tail hole into them.

While she slept he scampered downstairs to her kitchen. Looking in her fridge he noticed that she had a lot of food. He licked his lips as he began getting out stuff to cook. She use to cook breakfast for him, now he could return the favor.

Alana woke and changed. Today she needed answers. Rushing down stairs she looked at Yori. He had made breakfast. "You didn't have to..." she said. "I don't want you to think you have to work here to stay."

Yori shook his head. "I did it because I wanted to," he told her. He pushed her plate toward her with a smile. "You were asleep, and I wanted to do something nice."

She grabbed the plate and put the food on it then ate quickly. Afterward she looked at him. "I'll be back soon. There are movies and books...games... Help yourself to anything," she said. She walked to the front door. "Remember to stay away from the windows."

She walked out and rushed down the street. Passing people, she didn't bother to wave. She headed straight to Yori's house. Looking around, she knocked on the door.

Midori opened the door. She was obviously in a bad mood, but her face softened when she saw Alana. She quickly ushered her inside. "Did Yori make it to your house last night?"

"Yes," Alana said as Midori closed the door. "He's there now. He's safe. What is going on? He didn't seem to know much."

Midori sighed. When did he ever know anything. "I think I might have caused him a lot of trouble," she said softly. Looking at Alana, she had to look away. "And you too." Before Alana could ask questions Midori told her what happened. How she'd gotten mad at Ophelia for using her brother once again and how she'd made up the ludicrous story of him and Alana being together.

"She figured out that Alana was a human name. I just know she's going to do something! If she tells the wrong person they'll come for him. Oh and what they'll do to him and to our family...our entire race could be wiped out because of my stupid mistake! I even drug you into this mess."

Alana shot up for the seat she was in. "You did what!?" she screamed. "Your race won't be wiped out, but my race will be warned! Do you have any idea what you have done!? They will kill Yori and torture me in the middle of the city to warn my kind of treason! I will die by the public!" She started to shake. "This could start a war!"

"I didn't mean for it to come out like that," Midori said trying to calm her down. "It just slipped. I can talk to my father, maybe he can silence Ophelia before she says anything. Either that or I could have...." She shook her head. Yori couldn't do it. Even if Ophelia could get them killed he still probably wouldn't hurt her. She looked at Alana who was justly angry at her. She knew that Alana had no idea who they were, who they really were, so she just hoped that Alana could take her word for it. "I'll talk to my father and see what he can do."

"Your father!? Great! That's just great! Like another Eldarian will save me and Yori! You fix this! Fix it before they find out it's me and I get drug off to the city!" she said. Going to the door she opened it and slammed it behind her. She ran home and slammed her front door as well. Her heart was racing. She was terrified. Even if only her first name was given, many people had seen her with Yori. She took him for food often. It wouldn't take long before the pieces were put together and they would come for her. She slid to the ground and tried to calm herself.

Yori cringed when he heard the door slam. He carefully peeked out from the room he was in, relaxing only when he saw that it was Alana. Walking over to her, he knelt in front of her, sniffing the air around her. "You've been to see my sister," he said, his eyes narrowed. "What's wrong?"

Alana pulled her legs to her chest. "We...are in a lot of trouble..." she said in a shaky voice. Slowly, she explained to him what happened.

Yori sat down on all fours, unable to believe what he was hearing. Why would his sister say that? Did she just not like Ophelia? Enough to put his life in danger to keep her away? Shaking his head, he looked at Alana. It wasn't right! She shouldn't be involved in this. "I'm sorry," he said softly, his ears were tucked low on his head and his tail wrapped around him. "But...my dad...he can fix it. He's good at fixing stuff like this."

"Your dad has no more say than the rest of your kind, Yori. We are in trouble." She wanted to cry. She wanted to cry so bad. She had never been so scared in her entire life. "Yori...they will torture me in the city...I haven't even done anything." Looking at him, she felt guilty. She shouldn't, but she did. Even though he was older than her, he acted so young and she felt like she was scaring a child. Reaching over, she started rubbing his ears.

Yori sunk back from her touch. "My dad...he's important," he told her. He didn't like that she was sad. He wanted her to be happy...even if there wasn't anything to be happy about. "He can fix it." He bit his lip. He wasn't suppose to tell a human. The reason they stayed where they were was to keep it a secret, but Alana wasn't a bad person. She wouldn't tell anyone. "My dad's talking to the president about human and Eldarian relations. If sis calls him...he'll make Ophelia be quiet."

Alana pulled her hand back as he spoke. "Your dad...he's that guy that's always on T.V. The king to your kind..." she said a little taken back. She paled a bit when she realized just how important Yori really was. "Oh my God...you're the Eldarian Price...." And he was in her house...hiding out. What had she gotten herself into? Not only would they torture her, they would probably do much, much worse because Yori was a prince.

Yori sat back and looked at her. "I am...sort of. It's not like I'm the prince of anything. No one really treats me like a prince. I think dad's trying to keep it a secret."

Alana shook her head. "Do you have any idea what you are talking about!?!" she practically yelled at him. "You are like the President's son for your people! They will come after me with weapons! Yori, you are important to your people and to them, I seduced you!"

Yori seemed to shrink back as her voice began to rise. His ears laid flat against his head and he stared up at her with big eyes. "Y-you didn't seduce me. Dad will take care of it, and if not I'll tell them the truth. They won't hurt you."

Alana sighed and sat back against the door again. "Yori, if your father doesn't fix this...I know I will be killed...but because of who you are...you could be spared." She grabbed his hand. "I didn't mean to yell at you... This is very scary. I'm really scared."

Yori looked down at her hand and then at is. "You won't be punished for something you didn't do. I promise." He smiled, hoping that she wouldn't be scared. She didn't deserve to be killed. "Maybe Ophelia won't tell anyone? Maybe I can just give her something and she'll forget about it."

"Money!" Alana said. "We can give her money!" She lunged at him and hugged him close. "You are a genus, Yori!"

Yori smiled. She seemed happy now. He hugged her back, enjoying the fact that she wasn't sad anymore. "Yay!" He laughed, stopping when she pulled back. "That's the first time anyone's ever called me a genius."

Alana stood and rushed upstairs. She pulled a painting down from the wall and reviled a safe. She put in the combination and opened it. "How much money do you think will make her go away?"

Yori looked at the safe and shrugged. He honestly didn't know. "I don't know...but I can go ask her." If Ophelia hadn't told anyone yet, then he had a good idea as to where she was. He could go ask her and then bring her the money.

Alana turned to him. "Do...you think it's safe for you to go?"

Yori nodded. "As long as no humans see me I'll be fine," he smiled. "Besides, it takes a lot to hurt me. I'll be there and back before you know it."

Alana nodded. She rubbed his ears lightly. "Be careful and hurry back so I don't worry."

He purred as she rubbed his ears. "I won't make you worry," he smiled. Rather then risk taking the front door, he simply opened up the window. Checking to make certain no one could see him he jumped out and started on his way.

Alana closed the window behind him and sat on her bed. All she could do was wait.

Yori made his way down to the local Eldarian bar. He didn't drink, but he'd been there on occasion with Ophelia. It was like a second home to her. As soon as he stepped inside he noticed everyone staring at him. His tail wrapped around his leg as he sniffed the air for her scent. Once he had it he moved to the back where she was.

Ophelia was downing a beer when she saw Yori slink up to her. "I'm surprised you came in here."

"Ophelia, what my sister told you the other day...it wasn't true," he said quietly.

She just laughed. "Oh, I know it isn't."

"Then why would you tell people it is?"

She smiled. "Simple. Because even if it's not true this information is still valuable."

Yori bowed his head. His sister had been right about her all along. "How much do you want?"

"What?"

"How much money do you want to keep quiet about this?"

"And people call you an idiot. Looks like you have good common sense after all." Ophelia looked him up and down. He didn't have money, but his father did. Grabbing a napkin, she wrote her amount down and handed it to him. "There. No more, no less. Bring it here in an hour and I won't tell a soul."

Yori smiled and quickly scampered off to go tell Alana.

Alana looked at the napkin. Even this was a lot of money to her. She took a deep breath and opened her safe. She pulled out the amount of money that was on the napkin and put it in the bag. It was everything she had saved up over the years from her allowance, but to her, it was everything she had. She would have to ask her aunt for more money, which wasn't a big deal. It was just that she would have to call her and she hated calling her.

"Here," she said closing the bag. "Don't lose it. Hurry back," she said giving him the bag.

Yori nodded. It was getting late. He was going to have to hurry if he wanted to keep from being brought in for breaking curfew. He made it back to the bar, with the money tucked beneath his arm. Looking inside, all he saw was Ophelia. "Here," he said as he handed her the money. "Take this and leave us alone."

Ophelia took the money and smiled once she opened it up. "This is quite a lot...more then your father could give you on such short notice." She looked at him, her lips curving into a smile. "You reek of human, so maybe there is some truth to the rumor after all. Maybe I can get this Alana to give me some more money."

"No!" Yori growled. "She's not a part of this."

"Oh, but she is." Ophelia snapped her fingers and suddenly some more of the bar patrons began to show themselves. "Get the information from him boys."

Yori shrunk away from them. "I don't want to fight you."

"Too bad. We want to fight you!"

Ophelia just watched as they other Eldarian's started to beat Yori to a pulp. Their claws raked through his flesh, but before they could break him entirely something happened. Ophelia felt her blood run cold as she heard a feral growl. Suddenly blood started going everywhere. Limbs flew and glowing yellow eyes glared at her from the massacre. She tried to scream, but nothing came out as claws flew to her throat.

Four hours later, Yori was making his way back to Alana's. His clothes were torn and bloody, and his body was a mess, though he was healing quickly. He couldn't remember what happened. All he remembered was Ophelia wanting to hurt Alana.

Alana ran the movable shower head down as she sat on the floor. Yori sat in the tub as she moved the shower head over him to wash the blood off. On the floor next to her were his clothes and the bag of money, everything covered in blood. She didn't ask questions, she just got him to the bathroom and started washing him off. He was in his boxers and Alana tried to keep her eyes above his waist. She ran her free hand over his ears to calm his shaking as the water turned red beneath him. There weren't many cuts left on him, he held so fast.

"Yori...are you ok?" she asked in a soothing voice.

Yuri was still shaking, but that was due in part to how cold he felt. Not out of fear. His hand went to his head, his eyes closing as if his head hurt. "I...can't remember what happened," he said, sounding kind of scared. What happened to Ophelia? Why had he been drenched in blood? Looking over at Alana, he tried to relax some. The fact that he was sitting in a tub of bloody water in nothing but his boxers really didn't faze him right now.

"I guess...I mean, since the money is here. Ophelia won't get you hurt. Right?"

Alana turned up the hot water and ran it over him some more. "What do you mean? She said she was going to hurt me?"
