While the people cheered, the politician just hurried off the stage, humiliated and swearing vengeance on the girl.

Golden eyes stared down at her from the roof tops. His feet dangled over the edge as he finished with the chicken leg and tossed it behind him. His lips were curled into a smirk. The girl had guts and passion. He would give her that. Falling from the roof, he landed nimbly on his feet. He'd wait for her to get alone before confronting her. Maybe they could have a little more fun. If not he'd just move on to the next interesting thing that caught his eye.

Alana shook a lot of hands, some human and some Eldarian as she made her way out of the crowd. She looked at the digital clock. It was after twelve. She missed school. Sighing, she started walking home. It was a rush debating about rights. Who knew? Maybe that's what she was meant to do with her life. Fight for rights...for all races.

Yori clapped his hands as he stepped out from the shadows of an alleyway. "Very moving speech," he said with a smirk. "I thoroughly enjoyed it. Nearly brought a tear to my eye."

Alana glared at him. That was the golden eye Yori. "I wasn't looking for your approval. Where is Yori? I would rather be speaking to him," she said not missing a step as she headed straight for home.

Yori moved in front of her and shrugged. "I don't know, that's why I came here to thank you. After last nice little Yori just vanished. I haven't heard a squeak out of him all day. It's been wonderful!"

Alana pushed him out of the way. "Lucky you," she mumbled and kept walking. "Go away."

He chuckled. She was playing hard to get. Cute. Moving back in front of her he smiled. "Actually, I thought that you might be the lucky one. I'm feeling a little frisky and I figured that since you enjoyed last time so much we could do it again. Consider it a...thank you for this new found liberation I have."

Alana smirked. "As if I would consider that lucky." She walked up her drive way and to her door. She opened it. "Don't come back here. Fish boy is welcome, but you are not."

"Oh really? Why is he so special? Last time I checked, you wanted a more grown up Yori. Well, beautiful. Here I am."

Alana groaned as she walked in. She let him follow her and she shut the door. "That was before I know that you existed and honestly, you suck. I still have the nail marks to prove it. Go find yourself a pretty Eldarian and fool around." She started upstairs to her room.

He quickly hopped up the stairs so that he could block her way. "Tell me this before I go, because I honestly have no problem fooling around. But are you really so willing to let me fool around with someone else?"

Alana stopped for a moment. She pretended to think about it. "Oh my God! You are so right!" she yelled sarcastically. "Please! Take me now because I love you so!" She rolled her eyes. "Give me a break. It's not you I give a damn about. It's fish boy. I just want him safe." Once again she pushed pass him and went to her room.

He followed her, still not content. "So you mean to tell me that all those tears were for nothing? All that pain you felt at the thought of what you'd done.... Those tears are only cried by someone who cared deeply about someone." He smirked. Where was fish boy, as she so eloquently put it, couldn't remember what he did while he was in control; he knew everything that happened while fish boy was in control.

"Who said those tears were for you? I just put his life and mine at risk by letting you get grabby. If I want to cry about potentially dying then I will cry." She kicked off her shoes and opened her closeted. She pulled out a shirt and skirt to replace her uniform. Taking her uniform top off she looked at him while getting ready to put the other shirt on. "You are not as great as you think you are. You were my first, but you won't be the last and you won't be the best."

He just rolled his eyes. "Sure...whatever you say." While he watched her put on clothes, he reached out to touch her. His hand caressed her bare flesh as he moved in. Before she had time to react his lips were on hers.

Alana pushed him back and slapped him roughly. Her hand stung. "Damn it! God! I have to stop hitting aliens!" She glared at him. "Keep your hands to yourself. Why are you so stuck on me anyways? Is it the rush of knowing you took a virgin or the rush of know that it's forbidden?"

He bit his lip. "Neither," he muttered sourly. He had hoped this would be easy. He didn't know why, but for some reason he could feel the twerp inside him again. "It's because my other half is so smitten with you. He likes you, therefore I like you. It's complicated and it sucks. But long story short, because he wants to be with you, I'm attracted to you as well."

Alana took her skirt off. "I'm sorry to put a damper in your life." She grabbed her other skirt and stopped. "So all along, while you were asking me if I gave a crap about you sleeping around was really you trying to find out if I would let you just walk out of here? Huh..." She smirked. "I never thought that a type like you would feel that way." She walked over to him and started petting his ear. "I want fish boy back," she whispered.

Yori shuddered as she rubbed his ear. All day he hadn't felt his other half's presence, but just like that he was pounding inside his head. Yori's golden eyes glared at her. "This is my body," he hissed. He wanted to pull away from her but he couldn't. His golden eyes were slowly turning back to their normal blue. His hissing soon became a soft purring sound as he blinked and smiled.

"Alana," he said, surprised to see her. "Why are you in your underwear?"

Alana smiled. "Getting you to come back," she said. She slipped on her skirt. "We need to talk, Yori," she said and pulled him to sit down. She put on her shirt and sat next to him. "There is another Yori inside you. One that is hard and...hungry..." she said. "He's the reason why you can't remember things. Every time you forget something, it's because he is controlling you."

Yori looked at her. What she was saying wasn't making any sense. "Another Yori? You mean...there's two of me?"

"Yes, but him and you are the same person. You know how people have a good part of them and a bad part of them?" She waited until he nodded. She had to talk like she was talking to a child. "Well, you’re the good and he is the bad. There is nothing wrong with that it just makes things complicated." She started rubbing his ear and smiling. "You just have to try not to let him out too much because he causes a lot of trouble."

He couldn't help himself but to purr. As he thought about what she said, it started to make sense. Whenever he couldn't remember anything, bad things happened. "So when we.... It was me, but it wasn't...." This was going to take some getting use to. His mind went back, tracing the times he couldn't remember. There was blood. Lots of blood every time. He had done that. Not someone else.

He paled as he realized this. "I really am a monster," he whispered, recalling the words his sister had said so long ago. She hadn't realized he'd been listening then, and whenever he asked her she said she hadn't been talking about him. Now he finally understood.

Alana forced him to look at her. "Don't you ever say that again, Yori. You are not a monster. You are just different. Remember what I said about not changing for anyone no matter what? Well, this is one of those times." She caressed his cheek. "You are perfect the way you are. The other half of you...he's just something you a really going to have to try hard to not let get control." She stood and slipped on her shoes. "Come on. I'll walk you home and buy you lunch," she said smiling.

Yori smiled at her, but shook his head. "No," he said softly. "I think I need to be by myself for a little while. Maybe if I can get control of my other half you'll like me back." He smiled at her. She wanted him to be older, his other half seemed to be older; but she liked him...not his other half. Maybe if he could get him...to work...with himself. Now his head hurt again.

"No!" Alana said quickly. "No more going out alone. Just..." she sighed. She couldn't believe she was going to say this. "Just stay here." She sat back down again and laid back, pulling him down too. "But the same rules apply. Stay away from the windows...and don't go out. But stay with me, Yori, so I don't worry."

Yori nodded. He didn't want her to worry about him. "Alana," he said, his face becoming serious. "I like you...a lot. I know I'm really messed up and all that.... But I want to be with you. The fact that you're a human doesn't bother me. You make me happy, I enjoy being with you, and you're beautiful. If I act more mature and get my other half to be less...evil...do you think you might like me too?"

Alana looked at the ceiling. She would be risking her life to be with him, but she couldn't deny that when she was with him, she felt her best. Even though she didn't want to think about, she felt more alive when they were intimate than ever before. Having Yori around made life less lonely. And she already broke all the laws set for their race. She looked over at him. Slowly, she brought her lips to his.

Yori's eyes widened as she kissed him. He smiled into the kiss, his tail wrapping around her as he pulled her closer. Touching her made his flesh warm, and he felt a part of him burn as he did this. His head starting hurting again, but he focused on Alana. That was all that mattered now. His tongue ran over her lips as they pulled apart, his blue eyes staring at her with wonder and excitement. "So...is that a yes?" he asked playfully, already knowing her answer.

"What do you think?" she smirked. "But we can't tell anyone...not even your sister. And we can't hold hands in public or kiss...or anything remotely like that. We really have to play it safe."

"I'm going to have to lie to sis?" His ears flattened against his head. He'd never lied to his sister before, but if he didn't lie then they would both be in really big trouble. "Okay. I won't tell a soul."

Alana let out a deep breath. "Good."

Yori smiled and rubbed his head against her neck and face, purring softly as he did so. He was about to say something when his stomach growled loudly. His cheeks flushed and he buried his face in her neck. "You...don't happen to have something to eat...do you?"

Alana laughed lightly. She didn't laugh much, but she couldn't help herself. He was cute. "You know I do," she said.

Yori smiled and slid off her bed. "Are you hungry? I could fix you something." He wanted to make her happy. She seemed happy enough, but he knew that often at times people smiled and laughed, even when they were sad.

"No, it's alright. Go eat. I'm going to call your sister and let her know you are safe. She's probably worried sick about you," she said going to the video phone.

He nodded slowly. He should probably be the one to call his sister, but he wasn't certain if he could lie to her just yet. Going downstairs, he raided her refrigerator for some food.

Midori answered just as soon as she saw who it was. "Have you heard anything from him?" She looked tired. Apparently she hadn't slept much last night.

"He came here this morning. He'll be staying a bit longer...to clear his head. I told him about his split personality. I think he had a right to know. He's taking it rather well," Alana said.

Midori sighed. It was hard to tell if it was a sigh of relief or a sigh of dismay. "Okay," she said after a few moments of silence. "As long as you're willing to let him stay there...he can stay there for the time being. At least until we figure all of this out. I just hope he can comprehend the fact that he has two sides to him. Maybe if he does, he can better keep his other half at bay."

Alana pushed some hair behind her ear. "The offer still stands about the pool. Bring the girls over sometime. We can swim and I'll grill some fish. I'm sure you would enjoy it. To just relax and all..."

Midori laughed lightly. "I think you have enough problems right now just having him there. It wouldn't look very good if you're hosting cook outs with us." She smiled, but it almost seemed sad. "You and him...you broke the cardinal rule. I know this really goes without saying, but please don't let anything like that happen again. You could both die because of it. Not to mention...I don't even know if our races are compatible to breed; but I don't want my brother or you getting knocked up if it is."

Alana looked away and paled. She hadn't even thought of getting pregnant. Instantly, she felt guilty all over again. She was taking Midori's brother from her, and putting him at risk. Yes...he was younger at mind...and yes, he was very important to her kind...but he was important to her too. Since he came into her life, everything changed for good..and bad...but the change was something she needed. Something she screamed for. It wasn't like she loved him...but being with him was her view of happiness. "I understand..." she whispered, not being able to look at Midori.
