The President didn't say anything for quite some time. Instead he pressed something on his watch and looked over at her. "I'm ecstatic," he told her. "It is unfortunate that your child will not make it."
As he said this Yori suddenly yelped in pain and began to convulse as he grabbed at his collar. His father reached for him, but the President's guard rammed a gun against him.
"You made me a laughing stock today. Did you really think that I would let you win? You don't want this child. You're going to get rid of it one way or another. The only reason you said that you would raise it was to spite me."
Alana glared at him. "What I want if for all races to be equal! Making you look like a dick was just a bonus!" she snapped. She grabbed his wrist. "Let them go! They have done nothing!" she yelled as Yori cringed in pain.
"Oh but they have," the President told her. He pressed the button and Yori stopped moving altogether. He was about to say something when suddenly the limo jerked violently. "What the hell is going on?"
The President's guard turned to him and backhanded him with the gun, knocking him unconscious. He then turned his gun on Alana and her father. "Don't move and you might make it out of this alive."
Alana held Yori to her as her and his father sunk back in their seats. Alana shook as the gun pointed at her. Her other hand grabbed Yori's father’s hand. This day wasn't going like she had hoped it would.
"What is the meaning of this?" Yori's father glared at the man who held that at gunpoint.
"Revolution," the man replied. They road for another thirty minutes before pulling into a deserted building. He ushered them out of the car where four Eldarians were already waiting. The driver stood up and shifted as his holo ring fell off, as did the guy who held that at gun point.
"Grab the brat and the President."
Yori was starting to come to when rough hands grabbed him and threw him out of the car. "W-what?"
"Shut up." The Eldarian stepped on his tail, earning him a hiss.
"Why do we need to be here? Surely you need the President and not us," his father said, trying to bargain for their lives.
"Oh we need all of you. You see, we've been hired for...special purposes. We've been working hard to create a virus to wipe out the human genome. So we decided why not test it on the President and the girl."
"I've just set the way for equality for your kind! How can you do this!?" Alana yelled as she was grabbed roughly. "Get your hands off me!" she screamed and pulled his ear hard.
The Eldarian hissed and pushed her to the ground. "We don't want equality!" He told her. "We want money. People are paying us good money to make certain that this happens."
"This is absurd! You'd be dooming our race to extinction as well," Raize said. "If you try that, there's no telling what will happen."
"That's why we're testing it first," they replied. "Our first test didn't kill this idiot." He kicked Yori in the stomach. The Eldarian prince rolled over in pain while holding his stomach. "So that means it will only attack humans." He grabbed the President and Alana and moved them over to a table. "So we're just going to make certain."
Alana fought against them, but she knew all too well that just one Eldarian was ten times stronger than her. "You are making a huge mistake!" she screamed. "You're kind won't be able to get by for too much longer without humans! We keep the balance! Your kind doesn't know how to keep the atmosphere from collapsing!" She kicked at one of them and slipped off the table. She started running to Yori. She helped him to his feet. "Yori, get out of here," she said but was yank by her hair. She screamed out and tears welled up in her eyes.
Yori watched as they pulled her back. Already they were injecting the President with something. He growled as he pulled at the Eldarian. "Leave her alone!" His claws sank into the Eldarian's flesh, but before he could do anything his arm was pushed back as a loud snapping sound filled the air.
Yori gasped in pain as he looked at his tattered and broken arm. The Eldarian who was holding Alana just laughed.
"I'm a trained killer boy. You don't stand a chance." He pushed Alana onto the table and strapped her down as gas began to pour out around her. They were trying two different methods to see which was more effective. "The gas will seep into your skin and you will die."
There was a yell behind him as Yori's claws slashed through one of the men holding his father. His eyes were a blazing gold as he glared at them. "I'm hibernating for just a little while and everything goes to hell and back." He looked down at his stomach and groaned. "Is this a baby bump? I'm pregnant? You knocked me up!" The Eldarians were running for him, but he jumped over and slashed at Alana's restraints with his good arm.
"Haven't you ever heard of protection?"
Alana stumbled to stand. Her body shook. The gas had seeped into her skin lightly. She started coughing and a pill of blood hit the ground. "Save...the President," she said and started coughing again.
Yori looked over at the President and groaned. "Do I have to?" He watched as the Eldarians came for him. Pushing Alana toward his father, he jumped back and sliced through the President's restraints. He wasn't nearly as gentle with the President as he threw him across the room to keep them from getting to him.
"Okay ugly. It's time for us to dance," he said. He ducked and dodged their attacks, but he couldn't land a blow. They on the other hand, managed to land several attacks against him. He was losing badly. He wasn't use to losing. This wasn't right.
Alana moved to the President and checked his pulse. He was fading. Wiping her mouth, she started doing CPR on him. "You can't give up, you ass. You have to keep your word. You have to bring peace," she said while working on him.
"Here, get to the limo," Raize said as he started to lift the President up.
Yori groaned as he was tossed against the limo. One of the Eldarian's grabbed a needle and stabbed the concoction into him. "That ought to teach you," he growled as he wiped the blood from his clawed up face.
Yori gasped as he fell to his knees. His entire body felt like it was on fire. "What the hell did you inject me with? Cat nip?" Looking up, his eyes were starting to get glassy. His head hurt. It was harder to think. The amber of his eyes were starting to melt with blue.
Alana looked at Raize. "Keep him alive," she said gesturing to the President.
She got out of the limo once more and grabbed a rock. She threw it at one of the Eldarians. "Can't fight fair!? Scared of getting your ass kick!?" she yelled at them while trying to hold Yori up.
"Easy," he hissed. He didn't know what was going on, but he was starting to like it. Looking up, his eyes were a mixture of blue and gold. "Just get in the limo," he told her. Flexing his good hand, he looked at the Eldarians. He wasn't certain why, but suddenly he felt as if he could take on anything.
Lunging at the one closest to him, he fought with a combination. His child like self's speed and agility mixed with his own blood thirst and cunning. It was rather amusing from his point of view. He wouldn't be able to kill them, but he was going to hurt them. That was evident when he cut one of their tails off. He jumped back and kicked another one in the chest.
Raize was turning on the limo and beckoning them to him. "Get in!" Yori shoved another Eldarian back before grabbing Alana and jumped into the back of the limo as it tore off from the building.
"We have to stop at the hospital and get the President help," Alana called to Raize.
"You both need help," he told her. He wasn't certain what to do, however. If he took them to a hospital he and Yori were going to get blamed for this. If he didn't things would go from bad to worse very quickly.
Finally he decided to face the music and hurried the President to the closest hospital. He called ahead trying to explain what was going on. "The cops and medics will meet us outside and get you up to surgery," he told them.
"I don't need surgery. I need the President alive," she said as they pulled up to the hospital.
"Like hell you do. Whatever they hit you with is powerful stuff. You're going to let them look at you," Yori said as he held his arm.
"He's right," Raize said. Already cops and medics were pulling them out to get to them. The President was first, of course, as Raize tried to explain what happened. Next they got Alana and tried to put her on a hover bed so they could take her to operate.
Once more Alana fought against them. "Let go! I'm fine you freaks! Get your hands off me," she yelled pushing them away. She looked at the cops. "Before you accuse anyone you better give them a truth shot. That way you can't arrest them for something they didn't do!"
"Here." Yori tossed two collars at the cops. "I got those off of two of the guys trying to kill us." He knew that Eldarians doing this was going to set them back, but at least this way if they arrested Eldarians it would be the right ones.
He nodded to Alana. "Go with them. I'll be up there shortly."
Alana finally looked at Yori. She hadn't really looked at him while everything was going on. Her heart pounded against her chest as she stared at him but she didn't get to say anything before they were strapping her down and wheeling her off. She was instantly put in a body scan then a needle was stuck in her. Her body felt like it was on fire and she started screaming. She could hear the doctors yelling saying that they were getting the drugs out of her system, but all she could focus on was the fact that she felt like she was burning alive.
Someone covered her mouth and someone else held her down while another needle went in her and she started closing her eyes.
"The scan says she only has half of most her organs...where the hell are the other halves?" someone said as she blacked out.
It took four hours for Yori and his father to explain everything to the cops, and even then they were still being held for more questioning. It looked as if they weren't going to get anything done until the President woke up. Even then he doubted that would help. The President had been unconscious for most of everything.
At the very least, they did manage to steel up his arm so that when it healed it would at least heal straight. They also scanned his stomach. The kid was still there, not that he found that to be a good thing. He pushed his way up to Alana's room. She was still asleep, but right now her room was the quietest, so he decided to catch a nap while she recovered.
Alana woke with a jolt. She sat up and threw the breathing mask off her. God, she hated hospitals. People always poking you and telling you things you already know. She got out of the bed and hit the ground. "Well...I feel like jello..." she mumbled to herself and grabbed the bed to help her stand once more. Looking around she found her clothes and started to change.
After getting dress, the doctor came in. "You shouldn't be up."
"Yeah, I'm not for following rules. You are not the first one to be shocked by it," she said while putting on her shoes. "How is the President?"
"He's awake and stable and he's cleared you Eldarian friends. He said his bodyguard attacked him. When we told him you and the others brought him here he didn't say much else."
"I'm glad. Tell him he better do what he said on stage otherwise I'll be sure to leave him next time he gets betrayed by his people," she mumbled.
She looked over at Yori as he slept. "The baby's fine."
Alana looked at the doctor. "Oh..." was all she said before he left.
Yori stirred slightly after the doctor left. "How are you feeling?" He had to stifle a yawn as he stretched, wincing as he stared down at his arm. "You don't look dead, so I'm guessing that whatever they did worked."
Alana looked over at him. His golden eyes sparkled in her direction. "Where...have you been?" she asked trying hard not to let her emotions get the better of her.
