He was rubbing his stomach and moaning softly. When she asked him that he stopped and looked at her. "Yeah," he said, turning his head to the side. "What does that mean exactly?"

Alana paled. She quickly ran it over his stomach and just as he said, it beeped. She did it again. The again and over and over. Sitting back, she thought about pushing the button but instead called his father. When he picked up the video phone Alana felt like she was the living dead. She was sure she looked the part as well.

"We...have a problem. The President lied," she said in a shaky voice.

Yori looked over at his father on the video phone. What was going on?

His father looked equally perplexed. "What do you mean, Alana? What did the president lie about?"

Alana ran the scanner over Yori's stomach and let his father hear the beep. "Unless Yori is cheating on me....I got him pregnant."

Yori's father paled, and Yori let out a small squeak. "I'm...I'm....I'm....b-b-but I'm not suppose to be able...." He then when quiet as if he was in shock.

His father wasn't much better, but he was able to salvage himself after a moment. "Okay," he said slowly, trying to regain some composure. "Well, I highly doubt that Yori cheated, which means that...well, yes you got him pregnant." He still couldn't believe this. "Don't do anything yet....I'll call the President and talk to him. See what he has to say about this. Just...um....don't...do anything."

Alana grabbed the screen. "I'm sixteen! I can't have a kid! Much less a litter of kids! And how the heck and I suppose to explain this to Yori!? I don't know a damn thing about Eldarian pregnancies! I don't even know how it's even possible for a male to get pregnant! You better hurry up because we are not keeping it!" she said quickly.

Yori was in too much shock to say anything in his defense. His father looked at him and then to her and nodded. "Don't worry, I'll talk to the President and see what he has to say about this." He didn't want her to know that he was slightly curious about what the effects of a child would be. This was unheard of. People were starting to trust being with Eldarians, and with this news that they could actually end up pregnant.... "Wait until I contact you. There are going to have be tests done. After which...we'll see about what to do with the child."

"Fine. But hurry up," she said and they hung up. She sat back and groaned. "Where are you Golden Yori? I need you badly..." she whispered to herself.

Yori was hugging his stomach. This didn't make sense. The President said their kind couldn't.... That meant they couldn't. Which meant that this couldn't be happening. Reaching over he poked the neutralizer. "Maybe it's just broken," he said, sincerely hoping that he was correct in that statement.

Alana ran it over her stomach and it didn't beep. She ran it over his and it beeped. "Not broken." This was just perfect. Things couldn't get much worse. Golden Yori was gone, they were out casts, and Yori was pregnant. More than ever she wished Golden Yori was here. He would make everything ok. He was good at this kind of stuff. He was the mature one. She felt like she was having a kid with another kid...

Yori shook his head. This couldn't be happening. It just couldn't. "I can't be pregnant," he muttered, poking his stomach. He wanted to cry, but it looked like Alana did too, so he couldn't. He wouldn't. He was going to be smart. He was going to try. "It's...it's not that big of a deal. Once dad does what he has to...we can get rid of it." That sounded cold even to him. This was their child.... But that sounded wrong too. They couldn't have a kid. It was just...wrong.

Alana looked over at him. "You...would be ok with that? With getting rid of it?"

He rubbed his stomach slowly. He'd never really even considered ever having kids, especially not like this. "I...I don't know," he admitted. "I just...I mean, we can't have a kid. We're just getting by as it is." Still, he'd be taking a life if he just got rid of it.

She watched him rub his stomach. What would Golden Yori say? She sighed. "Yori...if we had this kid...or kids...it would be like I'm raising you and them or it or whatever. You didn't even know what a genetic neutralizer did. I can't teach you and the kid or kids. I'm still growing up myself." She reached out to touch his stomach but stopped. She didn't want to get attached...even if it was a part of her. "We can't keep it. If it wasn't such a special case, I would let you have it and put it up for adoption, but this will be the first of its kind."

He watched as she started to touch his stomach then pulled away. He just stared at his stomach as he continued to rub it. "I understand," he said softly. She was right, as usual. They couldn't do this by themselves. "But...I mean...since it is the first...shouldn't it at least get a chance?"

Great...he wanted to keep it! Now she wished that she had a split personality and hideaway like Golden Yori. Coward. "If you have it Yori....we can't be together. I can't take care of you and the baby. It's just too hard. I'm just too young. I'm already taking on people twice my age deal with. I cannot add a child to that. It would be fair to it. I would be able to give it the devotion it needs and I can't play mommy and take care of you." She looked over at him. "You are asking too much of me."

He bit his lip. "You're right." Looking up at her he forced a bright smile on his face. Even if it was killing him inside, he couldn't sit there and be selfish. Not to her."I'm sorry. Once dad figures out what to do we can get rid of it. It won't be a problem."

She crawled over to him and cupped his face. "When we are older, wiser, and stable we can think about this, ok?" She knew it was killing him. She knew it was harder for the person that could feel it inside them. "But right now, neither of us know anything about Eldarian pregnancies and I just can't be the only adult in this."

He nodded. That was all he could do. He really didn't feel like saying anything right now. He just wanted to go ahead and get it all over with.

At lunch the next day, Yori's father contacted her and told her they were meeting with the president the next morning. Yori had gotten his collar done and was sitting in the bedroom alone. He had barely said two words to her all day and she knew exactly why. By the next morning, as they got dressed, he looked completely drained and pale. She was sure he didn't sleep much.

A hover limo took them to the President and they met up with Yori's father. Once again they were in the same room as before in the Presidents house. Alana ran the scanner over Yori's stomach to prove to the President that he was indeed pregnant.

"He didn't cheat. He's been with me every moment of every day since he got shot at the rally. You lied. You said this couldn't happen. You lied about it," she said harshly. There was no reason for her to pretend to be nice when she was pissed.

The President fixed his pants leg and looked back at her. "I didn't lie," he told her. "Human females cannot carry Eldarian children. They will die. The process for Eldarian males getting pregnant, well, I didn't expect that to happen." He shrugged as if it was no big deal.

"How can we believe you?" Yori was glaring at him as he hugged his stomach. "You told us this wouldn't happen! How can we trust anything you say?"

"My dear boy, I'm afraid you don't have much of a choice in this matter." The President stood. "In a few minutes we're getting in a limo and going to go give a speech about this matter to clear it up for those poor fools who have mixed in with Eldarians. Hopefully everything will settle down and things will be back to how they were."

"But things were finally getting better!" Yori's father shook his head angrily. "Things were looking up. This one set back could cost us another forty years to repairs this damage."

"Yes, that is a shame. Well, it won't be too much trouble. After all, everyone can simply neutralize the little thing and keep on going. After the speech we'll neutralize it out of his stomach and everyone can move on."

Alana lunged at him and one of the guards grabbed her. She reached out for him and struggled against the large man holding him.

"You bastard! You fucking coward! You are just like the rest of them! You can't stand change! I swear you haven't heard the last of this!" she said as she fought against the man while glaring at the President. "You will pay!"

The President smiled. "Okay the, here's what we're going to do. I'll let you get up there and tell your side of the story. Let the people know that pregnancy is possible with Eldarians. Afterward we'll neutralize the abomination and move on. How does that sound?"

"It's not an abomination," Yori growled, his ears flattening against his head.

"I'll agree to the terms so long as Alana is not restricted in what she is allowed to say," his father said.

"Very well."

"Fine," Alana finally said. She had a plan. One that was going to make the President eat his words.

They were forced in the limo and this time Alana wasn't nervous as she stood in front of the people. Of course, most of them hated her. She scanned through the crowd until she found the group she wanted, the group of human's and Eldarian's holding hands. She smiled. This...was for them.

She explained how everything had happened. How Yori got pregnant and how she could not without it killing her. She thanked the President for the information then smiled as she looked over at him.

"And because of the President's kindness, he's suggested we keep the baby and raise it ourselves. After all, everyone knows the President doesn't believe in abortions. He said so in his campaign," she smirked. She waved to the President off the side who was now steaming. "Yori and I will be the first to have a mix race child. And it's all possible because of the President's generosity and soft heartedness. I believe that's why we voted for him to rule Earth. So thank you, Mr. President. Thank you oh so very much."

The President stared at her, a mixture of disbelief and utter despite. There was no way she would go through with this. He knew it. If not, there were other ways of dealing with it.

Yori stared in shock. Did she just say what he thought she said? As he stood there beside her, he found himself rubbing his stomach. Some people cheered, other yelled obscenities, but he couldn't focus on that. Why were they keeping it? She said she didn't want it. Was she lying? If so, why was she smiling?

Yori's father nearly fainted. They were going to have the child. This was going to be interesting.

"Oh, and one more thing. Because the President is as perfect as we all believe he is, he has decided to do everything in his power to help pass the law for alien equal rights. Let's all give the generous President a round of applause. He said himself that aliens are just as equal as us humans and he would like nothing more than to bring peace to all races. You truly are a wonderful leader, Mr. President. We are so very lucky to have you," she said waving him over. "A round of applause for a President."

Even those who weren't cheering moments ago were not clapping. After all, the President had the most influence.

As he neared her she whispered, "The biggest mistake you made was meeting me and fucking with the things I love. If you try denying anything I said, the people will think of you as a liar. You could have a revolt on your hands. Good luck, Mr. President." she smirked.

She back out of the spot light and watched at the President took the podium. Her arms crossed while the crowd cheered.

The President didn't get where he was by simply backing down. "As this brave girl as said, many changers are going to occur in our world. Theirs will be the first human and Eldarian hybrid. I'm certain you all will wait eagerly to see that nothing bad comes to it. I will also be pushing through new plans for Eldarian rights. This will take some time, but hopefully it will give a brave new world for the children who live in it."

He continued his speech, but Yori wasn't listening. He was just staring at Alana. "Are we...I mean...really?" He bit his lip. "Were you just saying that to get back at the President? Or because you want to?"

"Yori, right now I'm thinking of your people," she said not taking her eyes off the President. "You should be doing the same."

That was easy for her to say. She wasn't the one with something inside of her. He watched as the President finished his speech, but he didn't care. The people cheered and the President returned to them all smiles, though there was the tiniest bit of rage in his eyes as he glared at Alana.

"Come then. Let us leave," he ordered as they got into the limo.

Alana sat across from the President in the limo. "Congratulations, Mr. President. I think I just made the whole world fall in love with you. Aren't you lucky?" she said smirking and sitting back in between Yori and his father.
