[ P - Pre-Teen ]
The lights turn on with a somewhat happy click. “Morning Harushi!” mum said, smiling.
“I’m glad she is ok.” Harushi thought as her eyes adjusted to the brightness. “Harushi! I’ve got you new summer uniform!” mum said happily.
“What?! That costs money!” Harushi objected. Mum shook her head.
“I made it out of your old clothes. It looks exactly the same.” Mum said in a reassuring tone. Harushi’s face glowed with happiness, even though there situation was at the worst.
“Harushi, are you ok to walk today? I’ve got to open the shop early.” Mum asked as she looked through the newspaper.
“Yeah!” said Harushi as she rushed around. “Bye mum!”
“Bye, Harushi!”
Harushi started off running, and then she slowed to a walk.
“Why, can I understand other people’s feelings? Why can I sense the presence of something that I can’t see? And why am I going to die?!” Harushi wanted to be a normal person, one who doesn’t have to deal with all the questions in her head. Soon her rage melted away, and was replaced by a familiar dizziness. “...Its...the-t...strange feel...in” Harushi stuttered as she stopped walking. “The dizziness! Agh!” Harushi screamed. “The fee...ling.”
Her eyes turn blue, like before, except they don’t have any intension of turning back. The feeling was too intense. Harushi fell to the ground in panic. Everything turns black. A few minutes later, a girl and a boy. Come running up to see Harushi lying unconscious on the ground, her head bleeding, her leg bruised, her black hair sprawled everywhere and tears on her face. The girl dropped her folder and stared wide eyed at the Harushi. The boy however, took action.
“Come on! We have to take her to first- aid.” He said. He held Harushi safe in his arms and ran towards the school, then the girl followed. Harushi opened her eyes. “Who...are...you?” Harushi managed to say. I’m Yuji Terumi.” He said.
“Yuji” Harushi choked. Then she closed her eyes again. Yuji started running again.
Harushi waked up in the first aid room. She kept her eyes closed and listened.
“Ms. Kazuma! She shouldn’t be in this condition! She should be in hospital!” the nurse yelled.
“I'm sorry, we can’t afford it!”
Harushi heard the voice of her mum on the other side of the phone.
“What she’s going to die?!” Yuji exclaimed. Harushi opened her eyes when she heard Yuji’s voice. She grabbed his hand. “Yuji...” she whispers. Everyone stares at her. “I’m sorry I’ve brought you into this. I’m...sorry.” Yuji’s worried face is blurred with tears in Harushi’s eyes.
