Harushi was standing, but it took a while for her eyes to adjust. She saw Yuji and Muri sitting together, as before. They were staring wide eyed at Harushi, unaware on what to do. Harushi tried to stay calm. Yuji was the first to act. “Um, Harushi,” he started. “It’s not what you think. We just started talking and...” Muri butted in.
“It’s ok. I know you love him, and I know I love him. We’ll let him chose.” This was very unlike Muri, but she still hadn’t exactly given in to Harushi. On the other hand, Harushi didn’t know whether to be startled, worried, scared or happy. But she agreed anyway. Yuji was looking from Muri, to Harushi, to Muri, and then back to Harushi.
“Really, you don’t have to do this. I...” Yuji started.
“No. Just go along with it.” Harushi said.
“I know,” Muri started, “at twelve tomorrow night, you will have to choose.” Muri explained as she looked at the startled Yuji. “I will be at the park, and Harushi?” Muri waited for an answer.
“I’ll be at the bridge. Don’t forget.” Harushi told them. Both the girls were looking at Yuji. Unfortunately, Yuji couldn’t decline. “O-kay?”
“Ok”
“Then it’s decided.” They all agreed. Well, kind of. Harushi and Muri nodded. It was confirmed. The two girls walked away.
“Heh! Girls.” Yuji exclaimed.
Over the whole of the next day, Yuji was feeling very pressured. He didn’t once take his mind off what was going to happen. “I don’t think this is really necessary.” He kept thinking to himself. Yuji couldn’t concentrate at all. There was always this little voice inside his head saying over and over, who should I choose, who should I choose? Harushi, Muri, Harushi, Muri? Finally he came up with a solution. “Ok. I need to protect Harushi from those guys, so then Harushi.” He said to himself. He tried his best for his mind not to wander from his choice.
