Original Stories Fan Fiction ❯ Through Harushi's Eyes ❯ Doubt ( Chapter 11 )

[ P - Pre-Teen ]
It was almost half an hour past the organised time, and Yuji still hadn’t come to Harushi. She was beginning to lose hope. She had thought Yuji would’ve come to her, no she was defiant. But, maybe she was wrong. Harushi was still persistent, though. But her fears came facing to her mind. Tears started to well up in her eyes. Maybe she was very wrong. Maybe Yuji only wanted to know her secret. She wiped her eyes along with her fears. She would not give in. “maybe he is running late, or got caught sneaking out.” Harushi protested against her own fears. But they kept coming back. Harushi couldn’t wait any longer; she had to find out what was going on. She ran across the bridge, past the streets and into the cherry blossom filled park. She heard voices. “That’s Yuji’s voice! What is he doing here!” Harushi squeaked. She turned around, and she was right. There was Yuji and Muri, right in front of her. But the moment she spotted Yuji, she felt something was different. It was almost as if it wasn’t him.
“Such an emotional girl. What a waste of energy.” Yuji sighed. Harushi was astonished. “That doesn’t sound like Yuji at all! Is this man really Yuji?” she thought. She looked at Muri. Muri looked like she was scared half to death. Her breath was staggered, and it seemed she was trying to say something.
“What happened here?” Harushi ordered. “You aren’t the Yuji I know! And what happened to Muri!”
“Ha ha.” Yuji laughed. His voice was meaner than before. He walked slowly towards Harushi. “I’m sorry.” He put his hands on the ground, as it to tell it something. Harushi stared at him. Suddenly, the park was gone. All the cherry blossom trees vanished. In its place, was a mass of colours moving around in a lightning like pattern. Harushi felt dizzy, but was eager to know what was going on. Harushi gasped. “Is this what Yuro was talking about!” she thought. “What are you, Yuji! And what are you doing!!” Harushi yelled. Yuji got up from his position. He stared at Harushi in a way that he had never looked at her before.
“Ha. Well, for starters, my name isn’t Yuji, and I’m not the Yuji you used to know. My codename is yuji78QWR. I am an esper, surely you know what they are, right?” he explained. Harushi had heard the term before. “Yes, it means a person with psychic abilities, but I’m different to you. I am not a Hino-Shini.” He said. Harushi gasped. “He knew about all this stuff all along?” she thought. Yuji continued. “I belong to a large organisation that aims to better psychic technology and bring it into the world. Our current HQ is in another dimension, but you probably don’t want to hear about that. Well, I was sent here on a mission to gain a new type of energy that was located. And that energy lies in you.” He smiled as he said this.
“But why didn’t you act like this before!! Why have you changed?” Harushi asked him.
“Oh, I was just hypnotised into being the man you love. Or loved should I say.” Yuji said as he was smiling still. He took a step closer. And another one. Yuji put his hands in a ball, as if he was holding something. Almost immediately a bright light shone out of his hands. It was a ball of psychic mass. He raised it over his head, and at that moment, Harushi realised that Yuji had came to kill her. “I hope you know how to fight!” Yuji said savagely as he threw the ball. Harushi dodged. And the battle started.
