One of the enemy pirates had gotten away from his captor and taken his pistol, shooting her. At that, Sirius let out a scream and drew his sword so fast that it took the man's head off. Arianna places her hand on the wound and just stares at the blood before falling to her knees and her sight going dark because she was losing a lot of blood, and fast. Sirius and Argus both run to her. Sirius got to her first and caught her before she could fall to the floor.
"Arianna, look at me!" he shouts frantically.
She looks up at him, her eyes pained as she did so.
"Sirius... I'm sorry," she murmurs, a small smile on her face, "Guess I should have just left well enough alone."
She sighed and closed her eyes, slipping into unconsciousness do to the blood loss.
"No! Arianna! Somebody help her!" Sirius shouts to the men.
It took a moment, but Argus and another man ran over to them.
"Sirius... this looks bad..." Argus says.
"I don't care! Just help her damnit!" Argus sighs and gently lifts her from his grasp and takes her back to their ship.
Arianna didn't respond to any movements or voices around her. Argus sets her on one of the tables in the dinning area and tears her shirt open so it wasn't in the way. He instructed the other man to find cloth and a small knife so he could dig the round out. After the man returned, Argus began to work immediately. It took his a short time to dig out the round, which in turned caused her to begin to bleed. He covered her wound with the cloth he was given and tries to clear it up enough so he could close it. Arianna felt trapped in her own mind, feeling nothing but hearing everything. She couldn't help but wonder where Ben the captain was, or whether or not if she'd see Sirius again. Argus, after what felt like ages, finally manages to get the wound closed with stitches and bandages her up. His shirt and hands were covered in blood. Sirius had come down before he had finished, as had Ben and several other crewmen. A couple hours pass before Arianna finally woke up pale and weak as well as feeling cold. Sirius had fallen asleep on the bench next to the table she was on. She tried to move and let out a gasp of pain. Hearing her gasp, Sirius woke up and looks at her.
"You're okay..." he mumbles.
"I feel like my side is on fire," she murmurs, "And I can't move..."
"You were shot... I killed the one who did it..."
"Oh... Is Ben mad? Where is he?"
"Ben is in his cabin speaking with Argus."
"I'm probably going to get dropped at the next port..."
"If he drops you, I will kill him."
"Don't... it's not worth it."
"Well... Why would he drop you anyway? You did nothing wrong."
"I'm injured, and an injured pirate is of no use... I need a shirt..."
Sirius takes off his over shirt and lays it over her blood smeared chest.
"He won't drop you..." he says.
She smiles slightly and slips the shirt on with some difficulty.
"I should talk to him."
"You are not moving from here. You'll only make the wound worse."
"Then bring him in here."
"No. Right now, you need to rest."
"No, I need to talk to him!"
She winced and started to cough, which made it worse.
"You need rest, not to talk. He won't be going anywhere so relax," Sirius replies calmly.
She sighed and closed her eyes.
"Can't I at least get into a bed?"
"I can take you to your room if you want me too."
"That would be nice," she murmurs, "But I can't move without it hurting like hell."
“I can carry you.”
She blushed and smiled at him slightly.
"If you want," she says.
Sirius smiles at her and gently lifts her up.
"I swear, sometimes, you annoy me," he says with a wink.
"Hm... but I seem to give you a good time despite my inexperience."
Sirius chuckles.
"That you can," he says.
She smiles and rests her head on his chest.
"I'm sorry for scaring you like that."
"It's not your fault... It was that bastard."
"Mm... but I decided to board the ship."
"You can't avoid this kind of thing sometimes, no matter how hard you try."
She sighs and just relaxes in his hold. Sirius gets her to her room and sets her on the bed gently, so as not to reopen the wound.
"Get some rest," he says, going back toward the door.
She made a grab for his hand, but missed and let out a small sigh, watching him leave. Sirius turns back to give her a smile.
"I love you," he says before gently closing the door behind him.
"Love you too," she murmurs, closing her eyes and falling asleep.
