Pokemon Fan Fiction / Pokemon Fan Fiction ❯ Dark Temptations Inn ❯ A cool breeze. ( Chapter 7 )
The cool breeze had a nice effect once it hit my face.
I took a long deep breath of the fresh air, after I had opened the hatch at the top of the ladder, and climbed out onto the roof.
It was now daytime, but I couldn't see the sun, or anything much. The only thing I could see was the rooftop, or at least some of it.
It was quite foggy, outside. That was the reason I couldn't see far. When I looked off the nearby edge of the roof, I couldn't see the ground.
About twenty feet from the hatch, near the edge of the roof, I could see another hatch. Blinking, I traveled over to the hatch, and knelt down.
A puzzle.
There was a lock on the hatch, but it wasn't unlocked by a key, as I could tell.
There were four circular depressions in the metal panel lock; so familiar. And I figured out why, soon enough.
The last depression in the panel lock already had something in it; a coin, like the ones I had collected. It had five scratches in it.
I sighed, pulling out my coins, and placed them at my feet. I wasn't sure how I'd put them in; the number could be anything.
But, maybe it could have been a date?
What date, though? Maybe it was someone's death? Someone's birth? The time the building was made? Anything!
And I really didn't even have any dates; but maybe there was something around the area I could use. I stood up, leaving the coins at the panel, and began to explore the roof. Maybe there was a date carved into the cement or something.
Suddenly, I felt something slam into my back, and I flew forward towards the edge. Luckily, I hit the ground before I went over the edge, and the ledge of the roof kept me from falling off after I rolled a bit.
I quickly stood up, glancing from side to side; that was some kind of psychic attack, like the one that knocked him off the ledge off the second floor a while ago.
"Asshole!" I yelled out; I wasn't too happy about this sissy attack.
"What?" And there was the male creature; right in front of me. Before I could do anything, it's three digited paw reached out quickly and took ahold of my neck.
I couldn't breath very well; the creature picked me off the ground, smirking as he watched me struggle. I gripped his wrist tightly with my hands, choking out for air.
"Your just a human. We, the Myuutsuu, will overrule your kind one of these days. Starting with you." The 'myuutsuu' laughed, and tossed me across the roof.
I grunted, hitting the cement roof, rolling across it for a bit before I weakly managed to get myself up. I didn't stand a chance against this creature; he was going to kill me!
"Your just a pawn in this game. Isn't it fun?" John said; I had just remembered Alexia saying his name.
I frowned, and took a step back. The ledge was only a few feet behind me; I had to be careful.
"Nothing's real, you know." John said as he continued to walk towards me; I could see his evil grin etched upon his face.
"Then how am I here? How do I feel pain? And so on?" I growled, and took a step forward; this was growing stupider and stupider.
"Think about the gun. I thought you only had two bullets." John said, stopping in his tracks; he was still grinning.
What was he talking about? I thought for a moment; there was the two gunshots in the elevator and then shooting the lock off that one door.
"Don't remember? You only found two bullets when you found that gun." John chuckled coldly.
He was right; my eyes were wide in confusion; how did this happen? I took another step back, shaking my head. "How the hell!?"
"Like I said; nothing is real." John suddenly appeared in front of me, staring down towards my height.
I swallowed, and before I knew it, he shoved his paw right into my chest.
Stumbling backwards, I tried to catch myself on something; I didn't. I gave a yelp of surprise as I felt nothing beneath my feet, and fell backwards off the ledge. I saw a flash of death; I knew I was going to fall to my death.
And then, something whipped around my neck, holding me in mid air; it was the myuutsuu's tail.
"Ah. I can't let out player just die. There isn't a reset button. You'd be dead; period." John said as he leaned over the ledge, looking down at me.
His tail was rather strong, warm, and soft; but not lovable. I wasn't choking, but it did somewhat hurt to be held by my neck.
"So, I'll just have some fun with you, but not kill you.. yet," John said, and laughed as he slammed me into the wall with his tail, then whipped me over the ledge with his tail.
I only winced when I hit the wall, and then cried out as I flew right over John's head, landing on the ground behind him and rolling onto my back.
I could hear John laugh, and his footsteps nearing me. I slowly managed to stand up, a bit wobbly.
"I'm done toying with you," he said, and slammed a fist into my gut, causing to cough and fall to my knees, holding my stomach.
When I managed to look to where I last saw him, still holding my gut, he was no where to be seen. I sighed, and noticed a piece of paper right next to me. The breeze was pushing it against my leg.
"H-Huh?" I had mostly recovered from the blow, and reached down, picking up the paper, and seeing that something was written on it. The text was very sloppy, though.. like the person was insane.
But I managed to read it.
".. Him.. cut.. he'll die then..! Blood.. yes.. see him bleed! Red..! Pain.. screaming.. yes.. yes!"
That was all the letter said; and I frowned. I then turned it over, and found four digits, written in blood.
'1945.'
1945? A date? .. A date!
My thoughts snapped, and I remembered the locked panel on the roof. I remember the coin in the ending slot had five scratches in it.
I laughed in success, and ran over to the panel. Quickly, I put the coins in.
My first coin was put in, with the one scratched side up. Then the second; the side with the nine scratches placed upwards. Then the third one; the four scratches put upwards.
I heard a click.
I sighed in relief, and opened the hatch, and stared into pitch black.
"Oh shit," I muttered to myself as I stared down a small shaft, just a little bigger then me. It had a ladder leading down, and I had to descend it to go on.
I noticed that there was a brick taken out in the wall inside the shaft, near the top, just in reach. I saw something shiny in it, so I leaned down, and took ahold of the object, and brought it up.
It was a zippo lighter; golden and plain. Nothing too special about it.
I made sure it worked; it did. And with it on, I moved into the shaft, and descended into the hole.
